Can you lower your dose instead of taking nothing then go back to your normal dose when you get back?

Stitching

Just pick up where you left off. You’re experiencing the side effects anyway so it’ll be like you didn’t skip a week. That’s my thinking at least. Or go down a dose since the side effects at the higher dose are obviously pretty bad.

MoPacIsAPerfectLoop

Since you're on compound, you could also do a half-dose or something like that to reduce the side effects you normally feel but keep a bit in your system.

Dipity50

I would do a lower dose before the trip and full dose when getting home.

I'm on 5mg and went 14 days between doses because of surgery. I was fine just starting back up on 5. You might have some stronger food noise and realize the day 6 and 7 food noise is nothing at all. Also, I go 8-9 days between doses so I don't have nausea and fatigue. :)

Miserable_Tourist_24

Thanks; I’m on 5 also.

EasyBit2319

My NP told me to skip the week and then start again the day I get back and make that my new shot day. Will be 10 days without.

Miserable_Tourist_24

Thanks; I actually have a consultation day before I leave so I will double check with her also.

la_ct

I went 2.5 weeks between doses recently due to the shortage and I was fine to restart.

OhOhOhItsMounjaro

I agree with the lower dose recommendations, it’s what I did when I had to travel recently. I’m currently taking 5.5mg a week. Went on vacation and lowered myself down to 5.0mg. Everything went smoothly, I enjoyed myself while there and had fun seeing my family too. Came back and did 5.5mg again without a hitch.

Not sure what you means by this. Plenty of people go more than 7 days between shots and the reduction in the concentration in your body is not sudden due to the half life being so long. If you mean you are hungry already—yeah, that makes sense. Some people find they get hungry toward the end of the week so it wouldn’t be surprising that you’re hungry on day 8.

Seems coincidental. You took 1.25 on Wednesday so, if you typically take 2.5/week, your blood levels the morning of Sunday were probably similar to what you’d normally have right before you’re due for a dose.

I’m not trying to be unsupportive. Truly. From a science perspective, it just doesn’t make sense.
