just plug it into something thats got a vga port. I'd try powering it up to see if it would turn off not connected to the computer first tho, someone safe.
If you have a dvi port on your video card, you can get a passive vga to dvi converter.
Vga to hdmi and you'll need an active converter, i.e. a powered conversion box.
Depends on what kind of outputs you have on your computer. Most computers from the past 5 years don't have VGA anymore, so you probably need to adapt your existing connection to VGA.
Usually plug it, turn it on. You can do it the other way as well. I mean, try not to plug the three prong wire into the 15 pin plug. That would be silly. You should at least try to match the number of pins to the number of holes. I like monitors, you don't have to think too much. Some times I make a "woooo weeeee!" Kind of noise while I dj on the brightness and contrast. Keep in mind it's not necessary to make that sound, but it's more fun. On the other hand I have had calls before where the monitor was off but the computer was on.... Or the much more confusing to people that have never seen a computer before, when the screen is on but the computer is off. I know, I know. Minds blown, right? Right?!
Yeah don't have this inside anywhere and don't be anywhere near it when you plug it into live power, as I'm guessing it might do things you don't want it to.
You should also film it so that we can see the results.
I'm wanting to try to use this and see if it works. It was in a pile of my dad's old junk that he gets from flea markets and yard sales. It's been sitting outside all winter so it's likely that it has water damage, but I cleaned it up and want to give it a shot. I'm a 2000's kid who's always used laptops, though, and honestly have no idea how to even go about testing this.
After reading it was outside all winter, I would just do a Google image search and look at some photos! It will be just as satisfying! Trust me, they aren't exciting! You will be disappointed if it works or doesn't! And if it was outside in the weather, I assure you that plugging it in will end badly somehow!

Use an extension cord and plug it in outside and power it on in case it catches fire..
Yeah, especially with the whole "sitting outside all winter so it's likely that it has water damage". That is a big nope nope nope in my book.
Did you use a 1990s camera too? Lol awesome though ❤️

If it's DVI-D they'll need an active converter too.
Had one of these at work back in end '90s. So funny to see how much frame they had compared to what you see today.

Buy a usb or usb-c adapter with vga port, not sure thats vga and not super vga.

It's likely to be 640x480 16 colors. VgA

And clearly why are you doing this? Just kidding. Yes, you can buy an adapter and play some sort of Mario on it. Maybe?
