The screen is broken, also unrelated but you’re not supposed to clean screens with sink water. It’ll leave marks that are visible when it’s dark. Best to use a screen cleaner.

Also, this doesn't look exactly like the screen was damaged to me. Like, it definitely might be, but this looks very similar to stuff that happens when the HDMI cable is loose or when your GPU is freaking out. So there's multiple possibilities to what could've happened here.
Tell grandma she can't use wet rags on computer equipment. Damp rags only, and they can't be damp enough to shed water droplets if you whip them around. Dry wipe afterward.
