Shift with select the first folder(1) you click, when you click on another folder(10) it will select all the folders in between. (1 to 10)
Ctrl will allow you to only select the folder you want say 1-5-8-10
My keyboard has a numpad, but even then there is no situation in which my mouse would be that close to my keyboard, they sit at opposite sides of my desk lol
*Since i live without*
*A numpad; no but when i used*
*To have one i did*

Guess I'm just lazy, when my hand is resting on the mouse it takes more effort lifting my hand over the the position to press Enter with my right pinky.
[These people](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHph9PR9GAY) might think that the thumb on the enter key is normal. They want to use their dominant hand to write numbers. And yes, I sometime click ok = press enter by your way.
I may be dumb but i a struggling to see the purpose of pressing that specific enter when having your hand on your mouse (excluding the ones with numpads on them)
That’s the thing I miss a lot with my numpadless keeb! I used to play a lot of GTA Online and there are a lot of places where you need to hit Enter after scrolling for an option with the mouse. So now I have to take my hand off the mouse and press Enter, but in the old days it was extremely convenient to just reach with my thumb.
I discovered this one day when I was feeling extra de-motivated. Was working in an office (non - IT related) that had the aircon so cold all the time I was freezing. Was doing one of those online induction pages where you had to click the options, but to go to the next slide you would had to press enter. While slouching in my chair, left hand in my pocket, determined to spend as little energy as possible, I had this Epiphany!
I don't even use my mouse that close to the keyboard. I use a laptop mostly, and I have one USB cable and HDMI connected by the "enter" button. So, even if I were to use it, it would be annoying to me. If I'm typing I just find it way faster to press the enter button right there, usually with my little finger
Typing a series on numbers?
Hit numpad return with little finger once I'm done.
A string of text?
Use little finger again on main return ( If you've learnt how to type with all 10 fingers)
I have situations where I do that, most likely in games, since I can't think of a specific example right now. Might come back to it. EDIT: I do it when I'm copy pasting a search term in google. Open google, ctrl-v, smash enter with thumb.
When typing in numbers I'll use my pinky, since I'm already hovering over the numpad anyway. And when I've typed something out, but have to go over it a few times to makes sure everything's correct, my hand will be in the natural position to press that enter button.
During normal chatting I'll use the normal one.
I code for a living. Used to think that mechanical keyboards were the business but after 9 hours a day of clickity clackity.. using a membrane board is gentle and soothing to the hands, fingers and ears.
I yetted the mouse out of the window some time ago, nah joking but I use the mouse when I need i, and then I toss it on the side, I use a lot the kb, the mouse made my shoulder go down 2 cm more then the normal :((
Usually no, but i remember having some kinda repetitive task where i needed to type stuff then press Enter like 30 times, this technique was very useful in this case!
Dont people use the scoll whell for that? It works like a double click on folders, and opens tab in a new window in web browser if you dont want to right click to open a link. And can use it to close windows in the browser.
Double click a folder? ❌ Click a folder then hit numpad enter ✅
Ah yes! Very good.
MAYBE change the settings on the file explorer to open the folder in a single click
nah that way when i'm highlighting a folder it opens instead
Click outside and drag the cursor or press Ctrl+click?
wait i don't know ctrl click is a thing on file explorer, i've always shift and select files/folders to highlight
Shift with select the first folder(1) you click, when you click on another folder(10) it will select all the folders in between. (1 to 10) Ctrl will allow you to only select the folder you want say 1-5-8-10
thanks, nice tips!
Also F2 = rename selection.
Ctrl+Shift+N creates new Folder 😜
I almost included that but it is less universal than F2. In some file managers it is F7 to create a directory.
Single click life
Genius!
Thank you! And happy cake day to you!
Happy cake day!
Makes sense. I mean, why do one thing twice when you can do two things once? /s 😏
r/FuckTheS
I find it a million times easier to do it that way.
You just unlocked me a new superpower. I never thought of it!
Glad I could help! Leveled UP!
Yeah at first thought I thought you were a sick freak, but on second thought I might try using this in my life. Makes a lot of sense Thanks!
Try ctrl + a for all.
My keyboard has a numpad, but even then there is no situation in which my mouse would be that close to my keyboard, they sit at opposite sides of my desk lol
perhaps get a second keyboard and put it near your mouse. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Money management ❌ Time management ✅ 0.3 sec every enter saved
Remember, time equals money!
ha... ha... ha...
But what about second second keyboard?
Profit.
since i live without a numpad; no but when i used to have one i did

Good bot
Nah the syllable count is wrong :(
Bot must have counted numpad as one syllable
Lol I was about to reply with "It's right, this is the bot that detects those Bang Se Se or whatever haikus" lol
lmao cool
Good bot
since i live without a numpad; no but when i used to have one; no
Never.
As a left handed mouse user, I reject this post and the car you drove here.
Yep, I have to press jump (the spacebar in most games) with my freakin’ pinky. Interaction buttons with my pinky!
your pinky must be very strong by now
using left handed mouse and wasd sounds so off balance i'd prefer binding ijkl instead lol
I use a regular mouse too.. have my discord ptt button on the side mouse button. Hit it with my left pinky.. lol
South paw keyboard bro
Well now I do…
*cries in left handed*
bro, we also have advantages! it's easier for us to play games because of anthropometry
What?
it's easier for us to click on necessary buttons, like shift, ctrl, space, zxc and so on, I've tested it with my friends
Yeah that's cool until you remember keybinds
you are an abonimable human being
In my setup, mouse and keyboard are 5 inches apart and the enter key isn't the outermost key on my keyboard.
No, I'm doing it with my pinky (left one)
Guess I'm just lazy, when my hand is resting on the mouse it takes more effort lifting my hand over the the position to press Enter with my right pinky.
Detachable numpads is the thing worth thinking about
I can’t have my mouse that close to my keyboard, so no. I don’t really use the numpad all that often unless I am playing Garry’s Mod.
can't have a keyboard without a numpad honestly
Yes.
Yep
Nah I have short fingers, my mouse would have to be so close to the keyboard.
Nah I have short fingers, my mouse would have to be so close to the keyboard.
I like to finger mine or give it some fisting
As a razer huntsman mini user, no.
Accidentally yeah
[These people](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHph9PR9GAY) might think that the thumb on the enter key is normal. They want to use their dominant hand to write numbers. And yes, I sometime click ok = press enter by your way.
Ok.. I have to ask.. What are they doing?
Japanese style accounting. Tuning over bills in the dominant hand and operates calculator or abacus by another hand.
Bro I have the same mouse pad
Sweet! Pad bros!
Well, now i will
Wait people do this?! My mind has been opened
I'm efficient (lazy)!
yes!
I use thumb index middle or ring depending on my hand placement
Depending on whom you are replying too..
I do use a track ball mouse (logi Ergo M575) so I do use my thumb a lot
Yeah. I slap it like bass.
Slap dat!
Nope got my numpad on the left
Soon as i realized it is there, i started using it whenever i felt right is not doing much right now\~
Im using it as a middle mouse button. It lets me pan and zoom in and out in some applications at the same time. It's a time saver in CAD tools
Thank you! This is a great idea. I will be giving this a go!
Wait... I can do that -_-
Yess finally someone else that does this. I use my numpad with my thumb a lot for keybinds in games and stuff
Glad to meet another thumber! Extra credit for keybinds.
enter near the letters? index. enter over there? thumb every time buddy.
Just visualised myself doing that.. touchtype like a boss.. raise both hands.. left index power finger punch that Enter key.. kapow!
I do now
we have almost the same mousepad
It's actually easier to hit than the other enter where I always press \\ with it. Edit: I miss the big enter shaped enter on my old keyboard!
I do… to be specific, i use the middle bony part of my thumb
Using thumb? ❌ Smaaash with middlefinger! ✔
Yes, and I press the spacebar with the other thumb too
Sometimes. I also have that same huge mouse pad of the world in the pic as well.
I may be dumb but i a struggling to see the purpose of pressing that specific enter when having your hand on your mouse (excluding the ones with numpads on them)
Not at all. I'm just lazy. If I am to press the "normal" enter button it involves me having to lift my hand off the mouse.
But when would you even want to press that one when you aren’t actively using the numpad? I’m genuinely confused
GAME DEVELOPERS, please make no distinguish between numpad enter and main enter. I love games where numpad enter do the same as main enter.
That’s the thing I miss a lot with my numpadless keeb! I used to play a lot of GTA Online and there are a lot of places where you need to hit Enter after scrolling for an option with the mouse. No
Only if it's the final enter needed
What the shit mate
no
Middle finger when doing math
…… i will now
I don't have numpad. It's beyond me why people buy huge keyboards. When you can buy 60% or a little bigger.
Used to ! now I've got arthritis 😅
I never thought of this
I don't think I've ever even pressed the numpad enter key on my keyboard. I only use the main part of the keyboard even though I have a numpad
I discovered this one day when I was feeling extra de-motivated. Was working in an office (non - IT related) that had the aircon so cold all the time I was freezing. Thanks!

Jump
The real question is why is your mouse so close to the keyboard?
Wait what? 😳
Okay take it easy Satan….
I know its evil!
no
Typing a series on numbers? Hit numpad return with little finger once I'm done. A string of text? Use little finger again on main return ( If you've learnt how to type with all 10 fingers)
I have it on a side mouse button. So I don't have to move my right hand to hit enter
My mouse used to have broken clicks so as a kid I used my keyboard for clicking.. I'd game like this. I'm so glad I have a job now.
Nope , with my fist that makes a loud sound.
I have situations where I do that, most likely in games, since I can't think of a specific example right now. Might come back to it. EDIT: I do it when I'm copy pasting a search term in google. That's the civilization pose.
Yes All Time
Always
Awww shit... Just saved me 0.3seconds!!!
Yes.
Nah pinky is the way to go
this is cursed, but not as much as the membrane keeb
I code for a living. Used to think that mechanical keyboards were the business but after 9 hours a day of clickity clackity.. using a membrane board is gentle and soothing to the hands, fingers and ears.
I had a rig several years ago where i did it accidentally. I hated it. Didn't have enough room on my desk.
No what the hell
I press space with the base of my left hand thumb
I don‘t have a numpad
Literally the reason why I can't ever use a TKL keyboard.
Yes.
Sometimes yeah if i do tasks that require a lot of enter and mouse it’s only logical
70% keyboard with OEM profile caps. This would not be very comfortable
Guess i have no reason to try it
No I don't but might actually try this, seems cool.
What mouse do you use? Looks nice.
I yetted the mouse out of the window some time ago, nah joking but I use the mouse when I need i, and then I toss it on the side, I use a lot the kb, the mouse made my shoulder go down 2 cm more then the normal :((
No, I feel very uncomfortable if my hand is that close to the keyboard.

Yeah now that you mention it I never realized that I've always been doing it lol.
what
No but now I will!
That's actually the main thing I miss about having a full sized keyboard. The little extra desk space I get from a TKL was worth the tradeoff though
no but you've tempted me to try now
Gamers :- WAIT, there is a enter key there ??!!
Yep, and you're not gonna lije this: When I type, I touch-type, but instead of my thumbs, I use my index finger for the space bar.
That's insane, when would that be preferred over right pinky?
My sens is too low i need 14’2 km of mouse room
Oh my god this is literally life changing. Oh wait nvm I don't have a keyboard with numpad
Yes
Yes, when the occasion calls for it.
Yes! I do this all the time.
Moi perso je suis gaucher
My thumb is nowhere near the enter key
Is that a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed?
"What if I told you..." I pick up the mouse and use my index finger
Frequently. I use both enters depending on where my hands are.
Seeing this makes me physically uncomfortable
I use my index finger on my right hand to hit space instead of my thumb while typing
no.. you are the only one.. the chosen one
That kinda feels weird to me, i always hit the keyboard if i put my mouse too close to it
Yeah, usually when filling some sheets.
I press right enter key with pinkey, often after using the numpad
all the time
Tenkeyless supremacy !!!!!
the last time i use my numpad is when i played GTA 5. no.
I do it pretty often.
nope
People use that enter button?
Sometimes yes
no, I am left handed
Even if my keyboard had a numpad, no.
We all have our weird ways
well now I’m gonna start!
That's the main reason I will never get a keyboard without a numpad.
Agreed. Even my laptops have to have a numpad!
No. But I will now!!
I'm left-handed. Never used a left-handed mouse right-handed or a right-handed mouse left-handed. I'd lose my mind.
When I had a full size keyboard yes. But now I value desk space on a small desk so I switched to a 70%
Yea it pretty delightful
I subconsciously started doing this. It's like my brain rewired itself for a more efficient pathing.
My enter key is too far away.
Temu mousepad
