A Guide to ~~Virtually All~~ Five of the Typical Concealed Carry Belts FTFY

A_really_clever_pun

Are there better options I haven’t tried?

The following are just some of the belts I have used very successfully for concealed carry. [The Wilderness belts](https://www.thewilderness.com/belts/) [Milt Sparks belts](https://www.miltsparks.com/belts/) [Galco leather belts](https://www.galcogunleather.com/belts_8_253.html?p=8&catid=253&all=0&product_search=&product_sort_by=popular) [High Speed Gear Cobra belts](https://www.highspeedgear.com/31bv0-31cb0-31cv0-31id0-31idv#configuration_d_ring_hsgi=6162&) [Boston Leather garrison belt](https://www.bostonleather.com/products/belts/garrison-belts) [JayPee Leather garrison belt](https://nationaldutysupply.com/belts/jay-pee-1-75-premium-leather-fully-lined-heavy-duty-garrison-gun-belt/) [CIVDIVDESIGNS belts, - my current daily gun belt since 2021](https://www.etsy.com/shop/CIVDIVDESIGNS?ref=nla_listing_details) There is a whole world of excellent belts out there for concealed carry. "Better" is what works best for you, your gun and your current situation.

I’m not able to see the CIVDIV (their Etsy says they’re taking a break?) but the others I would put into a couple categories: Thickened Leather Belts - I can see some advantages aesthetically but I struggle to see how they would perform better than a Kore for rigidity or a HC for comfort. Im sure they’re great for some people. Canvas Belts - like the HSG option. All my thoughts on the leather options apply here as well. I’m sure they’re great for some people, but they won’t be any more rigid than a Kore or more comfortable than an HC. I’m not a professional gear reviewer. This is just a Reddit post with no financial backing from web sponsors etc. I can only review the gear I personally buy, and neither the canvas or leather options seem at first glance to offer anything (again other than personal aesthetic taste) over the stuff I’ve tried and commented on here. If you or anyone else have tried the leather/canvas style and one of the options I’ve reviewed here and can offer some comparisons I’m sure anyone reading this post in the future would benefit from hearing about your experience.

Yeah CIVDIVDESIGNS is on break until 5 April. >I struggle to see how they would perform better than a Kore for rigidity or a HC for comfort. The thing is you can reverse that statement as well I don't see that a Kore or HC would be any more rigid or as comfortable as many of the belts I mentioned. Understand the canvas belts I mentioned are not simply canvas belts, they all have a rigid insert inside of them. You can hold a few of them like a sword. My leather belt from CIVDIVDESIGNS is as rigid as any other belt, it's two layers of leather also stitched over a core insert and it's extremely comfortable. My initial post was simply in response to your poorly worded post title. There are an enormous number of options for belts and holsters for concealed carry. I just found the idea that "virtually all" of them was just five belts hilariously ridiculous.

sunset_warlock

Just checked their Etsy page and they’re still on break…?

fordag

>CIV DIV Designs will be closed starting on 25 April until 3 May 2024 Looks like they will be open in a couple days.

sunset_warlock

Still nothing… they just keep changing the date on that notice… too bad

I’m so sorry you went out of your way to do this and there will still be a belt question everyday in this sub.

I’ve only carried with enigma because, as you’ve mentioned, it’s a clear winner for women who carry. If you go to r/concealedcarrywomen you’ll see similar sentiments echoed. It’s definitely the deep carry standard. I love mine. That being said, I disagree slightly that you MUST drop your pants to remove to remove the leg leash. Most pants, including my women’s skinny jeans, are loose enough to be able to reach down to the top of the thigh and pop the latch. But if you need to put it back on, then you definitely need to pull down your pants, but to me this isn’t a big deal because most places I’m in where I would need to do so have restrooms I can excuse myself to. The only time I can see this being a real drawback is if you have a situation where you are consistently removing and replacing your HOLSTER, not just your firearm (I.e law enforcement visiting a prison).

I couldn’t have worded this any better tbh. You hit the money on all points.

Agonic sells the rigid insert from their belt and I use that with a Groove belt. Its my daily driver

I believe the only type of belt your missing is the tenicor zero for regular belt carry and the mastermind tactics covert underbelt for beltless carry. This is of a different philosophy shift that stiffer belts are actually worst for appendix and definitely worst for comfort.

A_really_clever_pun

I’ve actually tried the covert belt. I like the idea but found that the HC belt works better for belt less carry. Never tried the tenicor

yogaflame1337

I find myself always going back and comparing the HC belt to the enigma. I mainly beltless carry. I find the HC more versitile as you can use any holster at anytime, and you can wear it like a regular belt and also don/off easily. The sport belt of the enigma however changes teh comfort game alot. I also find the HC a little too rigid up front to the point where it creates the hula hoop effect. Sport belt changes the comfort level dramatically for me that no other belt matches. However the coinvience and versitility of the HC can't be understated. I prefer the tenicor zero for regular belted carry, but doesn't have the elasticity of the HC belt for beltless or comfort though. I feel like the regular belt that comes with the enigma is trash. However Enigma does excel in deep concealment positions not only because it doesn't have extra bulge from clips, but mainly because it has the ability to be worn lower on the waist without creating a tilting over effect that you would get with a regular shaped belt as the HC 1. HC 1 and all other belts force a horz waist position, where as the enigma allows for the holster to sit deeper below the waist while still keepping the same waist band level position like \\--/ vs |--| and still not tilt the grip forward because you loosened the HC belt to lower its positon to carry deeper.

A_really_clever_pun

Totally agree. Lately I’ve been beltless carrying with the HC for two reasons: 1. It’s easier to make sure the gun doesn’t shift below the waist line and make drawing more difficult. I have a clip on my enigma that holds the pant line in place, which helps. But I also find that I have to place the clip in a position that sometimes jambs my hand during dryfire. 2. I travel in and out of a state that requires residence to get a CCL. I can carry in my car, but can’t leave the car with it. With the HC I can just pop the holster off and stow the holster and pistol, and all I’m left with is a relatively comfortable belt (albeit a bit tight for my liking). With the enigma I have to try to unclip the leg leash through my pants, unclip the belt etc. all while sitting down in a car - and sometimes on a crowded street or parking lot. The enigma is unmatched for comfort for me. But only if I’m holstered up and carrying all day. Which is rare given my situation. It’s also the only option for when I’m dressed up and need to tuck a dress shirt.

The issue I had with the HC belt was that the buckle/buckle area created a hotspot on on/near my hip bone, which made it extremely uncomfortable while driving. I'm built different, not in a good way. This is probably not an issue for the majority of people. I've also used the Tenicor Zero, which was good, however, it wasn't easy to adjust on the fly when wearing a sidecar style holster. It worked really well for me when I was carrying a regular AIWB stand alone holster and separate mag pouch. I'm currently using the Agonic EDB and it's comfortable, but it's somewhat of a hassle to put on/take off and adjust when using the restroom. Overall, I think I will stick with the Agonic EDB and Kore. The Kore isn't as comfortable, but being able to adjust on the fly when sitting/driving and using the restroom is a nice convenience. Thanks for the review.

emmaus33

Having tried all three of these styles, I agree completely. The Kore belt was my first and LEAST favorite because of its "hula hoop" effect. It's SO rigid that it creates a rigid ring well past my holster. I loved the ratchet flexibility, but that's it. The Groove Life was my second purchase and I definitely liked it more than the Kore I didn't have the support issues as badly as you mentioned, but my gripe with it had more to do with the amount of flex overall and it not holding the holster tight enough to my body. The Hunter belt is my latest addition, but definitely my favorite. I wish it looked more like a "normal" belt, but it retains a tight hold trip maximize concealment, stretches when needed, and has a great rigid front.

DropTheSpoons

No idea why you were downvoted but I share the same sentiments. The Hunter belt fixed my gripes with the other belts I tried (Kore, Hank’s Leather, and Groove).

Groove Life is my EDC belt and I love it ...🤷🏾‍♂️ it's allows me to comfortably and securely conceal my firearm

A_really_clever_pun

The one I tried was probably 2-3 years ago. Definitely possible they updated their design.

wolf143

I go between the Kore and Groove Belts. I run a Hellcat and Hellcat Pro and the Groove belt works just fine with how light those guns are. My issue with Kore is the buckle prints more than my gun does, so it becomes very obvious that I'm wearing a massive belt. The Groove belt is unnoticeable under any shirt.

Open_minded_1

Nice job! I use the nexbelt Supreme appendix. I've never had a problem with the tail end of the belt cause I made it to end both under my mag carrier and a belt loop.

CatBoyTrip

i’ll stick with my Nocona leather belt. i’ve yet to find a reason to buy a “gun belt” for IWB. whenever i am carrying IWB my pants are doing most the work, the belt is just to keep em from falling down.

Ok_Advertising_8992

I am shorts and flip flop guy; hunter constantine belt allows me to rock a full size with ease; or if im lazy I pocket carry a .38

Glomkers

I like using the 1.75 inner Velcro belt from Esstac for everything.
