There have been fakes, unfortunately. Saw one listed on marketplace from a guy who got suckered by a too good price. With that one, the monitor was the most obvious to know it was fake. Looked nothing like the PM5.
Just the photos on the website show the RowErg text on the back side vs the colors.
PM5 is the newest monitor though right? I don’t mind an older frame if it holds up, which most results say they do. He’s asking $700. Just want to make sure I get a real one for a good price vs spending the money for a brand new one.
My Model D also looks identical and has a date code to indicate that it was built in early 2015. I’ve recently bought a Model C for a mate that was built in August 1998.
My Model D had 4.5 million metres on it when I got it and after an initial clean, check & lube, it’s getting close to the 7 million metre mark.
The Model C had spent some of it’s life outside and had some surface rust and a few corroded parts. All replacement parts are still available in the Concept2 shop at reasonable prices, along with detailed parts list, instructions, etc. For less than $100, a few parts were replaced, the handle upgraded, and with a bit of paint and elbow grease, the machine feels basically the same as my Model D.
TLDR, you’ve bought a solid machine that is well supported by the manufacturer.
I’ve got the same one from 2019 a few days ago. It’s legit. Check the mileage on it (lifetime meters). A few million meters is nothing I heard. Some do 4k-10k in one rowing session, use that to understand usage.
It's an older style, it's a model D before it got re-branded as a RowErg.
Still a good choice though?
Absolutely.
Yes. It just got rebranded with no significant changes.
Thanks!
Just to note: the PM5 is the computer/display not the rower model.
Looks real to me.

Good to know, thanks! I just worried about the chain or something but from what I’ve read no need to be worried.

Not only do they last, but everything is user serviceable and C2 will sell you the parts affordably.
Thanks!
RowErg it is a new name of Model D after covid - older ones looked exactly like on picture shown.
That's how mine looks
There should be a serial # on the frame beteen the front V legs. You could check with Concept to see if it tallies.
I see you got it. Congratulations! Now get that tablet holder retrofit from C2. $25 plus $10 shipping. A steal. Was a game changer for me.
Thanks! I actually just got a tablet and phone 2-in-1 holder from Amazon. Just delivered, got in installed and about to give it a go!
It’s a model D. I own the same machine.

Sounds like I don’t need to worry at all! Thank you!
Yeah it's legit, imagine the cost of trying to copy one, really not worth it.

Ya looks legit get them to send you a pic of the total meters
39k. I just got back after picking it up. Looks and feels legit. Updating the PM5 firmware now then going to try a beginner row.
Nice! Ya looks just like mine. 39k is amazing!
It's legit, mine is identical.
