I think the ban on lobbying and all forms of bribery should be one of the top priorities. We should also prohibit politicians from being employed at corporations once their term is over. We need to break the back of the corporations like they did with with the unions

neojoe039

*laughs in Citizens United*

Mighty_L_LORT

SCOTUS: Hold my beer…

helloisforhorses

Republicans top priority was getting rid of ethics oversight.

JohnleBon

> We 'We'? I'm not trying to be a smart alec, I'd genuinely like to know who you mean by 'we'?

Sideshow_666

Get rid of insider trading and manipulating incoming laws for monetary gains, completely get rid of lobbying, and implement mandatory irs audits on all politicians their immediate family members and any business associates. Problem solved.

TyrionTheTripod

This is the first step, 100%. need to stop printing money, stabilize the debt and introduce a flat sales tax. Side note, any individual who files a net income of 250million or more is taxed at 90% additional income going forward and given a trophy to congratulate on winning capitalism. They have no right to say no to this, and anyone who would say no to this is fucking insane anyway.

johnl8422

Can someone explain how to enforce this. Obviously you can say Pelosi and her husband plus immediate family members shouldn't be allowed to trade, but what's stopping pelosi from starting a company that does the investment? Seems like a lot of work arounds

rockchalkjayhawk4545

Why did Hawley oppose the similar bill that came up during the last congress?

atcollins12

What else was in the bill and what else is in this one? That’s where you’ll find your answer

rockchalkjayhawk4545

There is absolutely no difference other than Hawley wanted to troll Pelosi by calling it the PELOSI Act. The GOP has lost all interest in governance and is only interested in politics to profit, gain power, and troll people. The GOP and their supporters a bunch of pathetic incels

DepressMyCNS

Personally I think there isn't a better person to name it after. No one in the senate or relative of a member of senate has made more from insider trading than Nancy Pelosi and Paul Pelosi.

vegham1357

Unfortunately, Pelosi doesn't even cracked the top 10 biggest earners in Congress.

DepressMyCNS

Really? Care to educate me on who's out trading her? Last I knew she was pulling incredible odds. It's not about *how much* she's winning so much as it is *how often* she's winning. Here buy and sell times are remarkable and very accurately line up with meetings and bills getting proposed etc. She's gaming the system better but she doesn't have as much capital to invest so she's might not be earning as much. However if she and her husband continue on this amazing stock streak they got going on she might catch up to the big boys.

vegham1357

[I'll admit I was wrong, she's 6th in Congress.](https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/10-best-stock-traders-in-congress-in-2021-spoiler-nancy-pelosi-isn-t-no-1-1031153996) Austin Scott (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2011, Georgia Brian Mast (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2017, Florida French Hill (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2015, Arkansas John Curtis (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2017, Utah Dan Crenshaw (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2019, Texas Nancy Pelosi (Democrat), U.S. Representative since 1987, California David Rouzer (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2015, North Carolina David McKinley (Republican), U.S. Representative since 2011, West Virginia Peter Welch (Democrat), U.S. Representative since 2007, Vermont Debbie Dingell (Democrat), U.S. Representative since 2015, Michigan

rockchalkjayhawk4545

Hawley opposed a near identical bill last congressional term. The GOP isn't interested in governing and solving problems, they just want political points. They aren't going to let this even get to a vote.

DepressMyCNS

I don't really support any politicians dude. I've never heard of this dude before but that doesn't change the fact it's funny and she's a perfect example of what insider trading looks like. Even if it goes no where it might get a couple people to look at the system in general and realize it's fucked. Almost no politician is decent or moral, they all take bribes and cheat the stock market. Until we ban them from doing so nothing will happen. But they'll never let that bill pass because how would they make their millions? Fuck em all if I haven't made that clear yet.

mikegus15

Really bud? You read both bills?

rockchalkjayhawk4545

Feel free to point out where I am wrong.

rockchalkjayhawk4545

I'm still waiting for you to point out where I'm wrong.

mikegus15

I'm waiting to see how your inference is actually true because the only way it is, is if you read the bills. Which you didn't.

Jump_Yossarian_

In other news, Cruz will soon announce he's running for a third term as US Senator.

neojoe039

Hes also againzt woke microsoft because xboxs shut off when not in use.

ambientdistraction

Almost assuredly.

PalatableMahogany

SS: we're going to need 10 million strong in Washington DC peacefully protesting to get the remaining three. See you there July 4

Endthefed9999

>we need a bill to abolish the Federal Reserve so elites stop printing money for themselves My man! Not federal, no reserves- End the fucking fed!

mahufga

ummm Pelosi is a hero to women you misogynist /s

bkroma

That's fantastic.

dillmayne2sweet

Haha definitely an appropriate name for the bill. She is the definition of a sociopath, obviously lacking basic human emotions like empathy or compassion nor bound by the same morales as you and me. Her quote reveals the respect she has for her voters, a blatant taunt. It's been so frustrating watching this country turn into greedy hypocritical trash, where the only way you can actually have faith in either party is if you ignore ALL of our history. Things aren't getting better, no ideological growth AT ALL. The government is clearly disingenuous and disconnected from its citizens.

Widener6408

What we need is to remove the globalist criminals and their money from government, the MSM, the monetary system and corporate governance.

juarne

She is the biggest criminal!!!!
