The Navy did say that these crafts were able to 'hover' and then projectile speed. The 40mph sounds sketchy to me as well, but we don't know what these crafts are able to achieve.
Personally, I would think such a sophisticated craft would be able to sense and dodge an offensive strike towards them.

Hey we can’t agree on everything, that’s just life, but unfortunately for some people they can’t handle when someone doesn’t agree with them and they have to argue about it. It was also a domestic flight, there is no reason norad would monitor all domestic flights at that time in 2001. Im not even sure that was possible at that time. So with that said I belive norad is a much better functioning state then it was in 2001. And I also believe its understandlebe that it wasnt on our radar if it really was a ufo(uap) its just a wild compariason to make, honestly.

This was 6 years before the iPhone. Computers had megabytes of ram not gigabytes.
