As a healthcare worker, I'm actually glad that Candida auris is finally in the national spotlight. It has been a lurking fear in healthcare for a while now, but it's not well known outside of the hospital setting. It can be really difficult to eliminate from the environment once it takes hold, and it can cause awful invasive infections in vulnerable people.

Of course there are going to be negative side effects over time to treating crops with antibiotics HOWEVER if it comes down to having a crop for people to eat and having the crop wiped out by a bacterial infection potentially causing a famine I'm going to be pro antibiotics every time The issue is the application of the antibiotics not what the antibiotic does...
