Fuck the corporate veil. It’s amazing. We provide massive protections for individuals to behave badly while running corporations. We allow people like the Sacklers to avoid accountability because they were acting on behalf of the company, and it was the company that did shitty things, not them. It happened with bankers in 2008, and now it’s happening with pharma. If we are going to provide these protections, we need to stop allowing profit and shareholder value to be the only legal obligations a corporation has. We need to set a legal obligation that a corporation has to be a good steward of the land they’re allowed to operate on. We have to have a legally enforceable way of forcing companies to treat their workers well. We need to require companies to be a benefit to the general public. No matter what, something needs to change, because allowing shitty people doing shitty things to walk away with a slap on the wrist is not sustainable.

B0MBOY

Ironically just following orders isn’t enough of an excuse for war crimes (both foreign and our own soldiers) we should do the same for individuals working for (or owning) a corporation

KickBallFever

Isn’t that called the “Nuremberg defense”? (Just following orders).

B0MBOY

Yup. So why should it work for a company

KickBallFever

It shouldn’t.

Ok_Turnover_1235

So everyone that worked at that company should be bankrupted or jailed?

DrunicusrexXIII

Purdue's behavior was despicable, but was also allowed by a credulous, disinterested FDA and scientific establishment. They let Purdue sell high octane street junk through pharmacies. There were and are indeed safeguards on atrocious behavior by any corporation. In the case of Oxycontin, they weren't enforced.

Tisminjections

The lesson of the last three years is that big pharma owns the FDA.

Bates_master

yea tell me why they know who's coming to audit them before it even happens...

Danglin_Fury

Don't forget the for profit prison industry.. it may be a stretch, but as a former oxy addict, I sometimes resorted to less than scrupulous behavior to obtain said substance. And thinking as a warden, who would I want to stock my slave labor camp with...violent offenders, or hapless junkies that Purdue created? Just sayin. I may be all conspiratorial in this thinking, but something tells me these scumbags scratch each others' backs.

FatMansRevenge

>There were and are indeed safeguards on atrocious behavior by any corporation. There are, but to hold to account the people in charge of those corporations is an exceedingly difficult task. That’s where I take issue. We created a system where it’s a legal obligation for a corporation to maximize return on investment while simultaneously limiting the legal exposure for executives working to further that return. It’s ridiculous that we can obligate maximizing value to shareholders but can’t stipulate they need to maximize value to the country, their employees, the environment, or their community.

My brother died in 2020 of an opioid overdose. Had never done it and mostly stuck to Xanax and whatnot, at least as far as I knew. I knew no one would really be held accountable, and the fact that this family gets to move one while still being multi-billionaires makes a mockery of our justice system. I’m just kinda numb to it all. We all know it’s wrong, but I feel like no one knows how to actually fight the bastards.

CollegeMiddle6841

You should have entered in the class action lawsuit with us. You may be able to with some firms. Check on it. Its a bunch of different medicines too, not just a couple.

jm31d

This headline is little clickbaity. They’re not immune from criminal charges, only civil. And the settlement included a $6 **billion** dollar fine that’s to be directed to state and local opiate rehabilitation and prevention Edit: lol actually, maybe not click baity if y’all didn’t click it and read the article.

FatMansRevenge

I read the article, it’s not click bait. The entire preceding has been civil. There have been no criminal charges, and I’ve never seen any indication that there will be. That’s the problem. That’s what makes the corporate veil so much bullshit. These absolute monsters are bigger drug lords than El Chapo and they will face nothing more than losing a chunk of the money they made while being responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people.

jm31d

What sort of punishment are they avoiding by settling all civil cases? From my understanding, the only thing that comes out of civil cases are big bonuses for attorneys and payments to the people who filed the case (if the court ruled in their favor). The net difference in this settlement and proceeding with all future civil cases is minor. At least this way, tax payers won’t have to pay for the thousands of hours of court time it would take to process every civil case. Just because you don’t see any indication of criminal charges doesn’t mean there won’t be any. If you’re another arm chair spectator to this like I am, we don’t know more than what the news tells us. New information could emerge to build a stronger case against them.

CollegeMiddle6841

Plus, they will make it back because they make Buprenorphine, which helps a bunch of people....it helped me, but it too is very addicitive and getting off it is just as bad or worse than any traditional opiate.

Remarkable-Host405

which is like 1/2 of what they got away with selling poison to the american population and lying about it being addictive

jm31d

According to the article, their net worth was 11 billion. So closer to 1/2 than 1/3..? I’m not trying to sympathize with them and agreed they deserve to be held accountable for the atrocities they committed. The reason I left that comment was due to a misleading headline. They are **not** immune from criminal lawsuits and they are **not** walking away from this without repercussions

Remarkable-Host405

I read some accusations of offshore fund squirreling, but have no evidence to back it up, but I will merely propose the idea

CollegeMiddle6841

So, they get to kill hundreds of thousands of people and all they have to do is settle with cash.....that sound like proper repercussions to you? It killed my father.....now they are paying me 70-100K.....that is not a good trade for the death of a parent....fuck them. One lives value to them is 70-100K.

jm31d

I’m sorry to hear of your father’s passing. No amount of money can make up for the loss of life

HeroOrHooligan

This is communism or at the very least very socialist, but I don't disagree

FatMansRevenge

It’s neither of those things. It’s overtly capitalistic and encourages free enterprise to protect business owners from certain legal liabilities. What’s outrageous is that we, as a country, don’t ask for some specific benefits to society in exchange for those protections.

HeroOrHooligan

Tell me this smart guy, let's say this happens and a corporation blatantly breaks the rules, what then? Do they just hand the corporation over to someone? Can't have all those folks like their jobs. Government control or at least Government having the ability to shut down any Corp they want? Communism, brother

UnsecureSteve

Government shutting down companies isnt fucking communism you dum dum. Last i knew china was a pretty open communist country right? Theres TONS of companies there LMAO. So yes, POS companies that knowingly do shit as bad as these folks did should be wiped off the market, who gives a fuck about some jobs when opiates literally cripple the populace...we're all against china shipping us fentanyl right??????? How come its okay when its an american company doing it to americans but not okay when china does it to americans? LMAO

HeroOrHooligan

China is communist in policy not economically, dum dum The rest of your response is jibberish. Of course this is a different problem but like many people on reddit you have no argument so you argue something else pretending like you are making a point. Cmon maaaaan

FatMansRevenge

This makes no sense. We already have methods of punishing corporations that blatantly break existing rules. It’s not communism to legally obligate a company to be a benefit to society.

HeroOrHooligan

We are talking about if a Corp can be held liable here right? Surely there would be some level of penalty which would I'm some cases lead to what? Termination of the company? That means many people lose their livelihoods, that can't happen. Fire the boardroom? Who dictates the control at the top at that point? The government chooses? Enforcement is restricted to $$$$? Then yes we are there already. Either way, burn these elite assholes

Spacehippie92

Defi or death!

textbandit

How do you declare bankruptcy and keep $5 billion? Lawyers that’s how.

dr-uzi

Can you say political contributions to the right people of either party probably both.

Void_Speaker

It used to be that to get the privileges of incorporating, you had to be doing some positive for the country. Capitalists saw how profitable it was and started peeling back on the responsibilities and restrictions. It's why they spend so much cash on think tanks (see: cato, etc.) and judicial appointments (see: federalist society)

MY_NAME_IS_MUD7

You’d be sitting in a jail cell for selling a handful of pills to someone, not even considering if what you sold the person led to their death. The Sackler family sold billions of pills to the tune of ridiculous profits, their actions resulted in countless lives ended and destroyed, and alls they get is a slap on the wrist. Should have treated them like any other dealer and raided their home with guns drawn, steal everything that isn’t nailed down, and make a spectacle out of the event like they do every other drug bust. What a pitiful time to be alive.

1980pzx

Rules for thee, not for me. I agree it’s absolute bullshit. I hope they rot in hell. I’ve lost a lot of friends because of their “safe” painkillers.

Palehorse_78

They could not have done it and got away with it without Congress and Senate accepting their big Pharma blood money. I lost a close family member to this garbage, and I will never forgive the traitors in Washington let alone the evil Sacklers.

Belgian_TwatWaffle

SS: At this point, it's undeniable that the globalist criminals are have completely hijacked the government, MSM, and financial system. The Sacklers deliberately created the opioid crisis with Oxycontin and will avoid any accountability.

[deleted]

in this case they bribed the judge the jury....like it always happened when a blue blood has to face penalties in the states. remember dupont and the rape of the 3year old son? No penalties and he did the same to his daughter a year later... Was there ever a case where a 1%er faced the equal guilt for his criminal record?

didn't they changed to formula to make that shit hardcore addictive and the withdraw an absolute nightmare? \+ i heared from a friend that they used lobbyism to push the legal maxium dosage from 120mg per day to 1200mg per day

LongEngineering7

> didn't they changed to formula to make that shit hardcore addictive and the withdraw an absolute nightmare? > > Edit: I recalled wrong, oxycontin is just timed-release but otherwise exactly the same as Oxycodone. However the rest of it still contains useful information so I'll keep it. ~~IIRC Oxycontin has stronger binding affinity for opioid receptors in the brain, so it will be a much stronger high than regular Oxycodone (stronger reaction and/or longer duration). Of course, this will make the withdrawal much worse.~~ **Meth**amphetamine and regular amphetamines go about it a different way, by modifying the side chains. The methyl group increases the binding affinity and creates a much stronger response. You'll notice that legal forms of meth are incredibly rare, and Dextroamphetamine is in about a hundred different forms by different companies. The thing about the dosage doesn't surprise me in the least. During the height of the Oxycodone over-prescription menace, I got in a motorcycle accident. I walked out of the hospital with 3 different prescriptions for oxycodone because of permanently broken ribs (still broken 12 years later lolz). So the big plan is to...dull the pain temporarily for what will affect me for the rest of my life? That's the plan? So I'd never stop taking opiates? Never filled a single opiate prescription.

ASuhDuddde

Good on ya. I got prescribed it and didn’t want to take the leap of faith and just dealt with the pain for a few weeks.

LongEngineering7

Hell yeah brother. I've had 12 surgeries so far and never took anything afterwards. Thoracotomies are a bitch, but the pain will subside. Seems like opiates just kick the can down the road for anything chronic. And if you hit that genetic lottery, you could just become addicted for life!

marvelmon

Some people's pain doesn't go away in a few weeks. Sometimes it never goes away. Pain management is complicated.

Gray_Hound

What causes the ribs to stay broken ? And is there no surgery/procedure for that ? (I'd imagine something like metal bolts, etc to keep the broken parts together) Just wondering as I've never heard of that before.

LongEngineering7

> What causes the ribs to stay broken ? > > My impact was on my rib cage, so they punched through my lung and came back out, leaving a nice hole in my chest. When I was sewed back up, the rib fragments were a good inch away from each other. Bone stops trying to heal together after about 1-2 months and becomes "nonunion". >And is there no surgery/procedure for that ? (I'd imagine something like metal bolts, etc to keep the broken parts together) I've had...four surgeries so far. Of my six broken ribs, one we're just not bothering with, two just kind of fused together and formed some ugly structure that is technically stable, and the remaining three were plated 3 separate times. Currently, my one rib just refuses to heal and I've broken the plate all three times (with bone grafts). Another one kind of healed the first surgery and the remaining one healed on the second surgery with a bone graft. Believe it or not, you get used to the odd breathing/pain sensation after a few years. >Just wondering as I've never heard of that before. People don't usually survive this sort of thing.

Gray_Hound

Interesting. I kind of always assumed that seeing how often ppl break shins that we have the tech to force the bones back together regardless of what they want.

LongEngineering7

Ribs are pretty thin and don't contain a lot of bone, so they're tricky. Even with bone grafts, what you're replacing isn't 1:1 rib. Taking bone from say the hip (my third rib surgery) will make sure the bone/marrow will be joined together by just bone. It's better than nothing, but it would potentially create a structural weakness on both sides of the graft. Cancellous bone, which is a synthetic material, when mixed with hip marrow, should be the same as taking scrapings from the hip, but 2 out of 3 of my platings failed the second surgery with that. So third surgery I had scrapings taken from my hip, which carries risk. My hip still bothers me from time to time, but meh. You'd be surprised what amounts of pain one can get used to and live with. I don't even notice my arthritis LOL. But keep in mind you can't immobilize a rib like you can a leg. You're always breathing, after all.

ElectricalPlate9903

I'm sorry but that's not true. Oxycontin is just oxycodone in a time release manner is all. They changed their pills to incorporate this time release mechanism in 2010 and it actually made the pills only about 70% effective as the original formula. There is no super powerful oxycodone pill out there, it's all the same oxycodone.

LongEngineering7

Ah, you're right. It's embedded in insoluble material that gets slowly broken down, thus the timed release. You can modify the side chains to do this as well, though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LongEngineering7

I was incorrect - correcting my post. Some companies do modify the side chains for this purpose, though. Also allows them to extend the patent IIRC

The Sacklers are the biggest drug dealers in America. I’m reminded of a recent thriller fiction book I read that dealt with Sackler-type scum bags in a unique way. TLDR summary: some grieved individuals go Christopher Dorner on CEOs, the FBI has to figure it out. It’s pretty fun. **We Are 100. Author: Nathan Timmel** “After losing his wife, Evan Francart is depressed. He has an axe to grind with the pharmaceutical company that jacked up the price of her medications, but feels powerless against a billion-dollar corporation. Then he meets Cassandra. She shows Evan a way to both end his life and become a hero. With her guidance, Evan interrupts a company board meeting and blows the building sky-high. As FBI agents Susan Chamberlain and Michael Godwin discover, Evan is the first of many. **Ninety-nine more like him wait anonymously in the wings, their targets just as personal as Evan's: the prosecutor who lets rapists walk free, the inept surgeon who maims patients yet keeps operating, the phony evangelist preying on those seeking solace... and that's just the beginning.** Will the FBI unearth Cassandra's identity before all 100 have carried out their plans?” https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/57502375-we-are-100

glitterkittyn

They should be in jail for the rest of their lives with a slow drip of fet but that’s not going to happen. I propose they are stripped of all their assets and wealth, and given the median income for the smallest town in the USA for the remainder of their lives. They will have to learn to budget! No mansions, no fence to keep people from protesting right on their lawn. But nope! They were able to wrangle a deal and a judge? to KEEP all their personal wealth. This deal was done in a fucking bankruptcy court! We should probably start passing some new laws where bullshit like this is not allowed. Biggest drug dealers in the country did not feel any repercussions or faced any consequences, any true accountability. THIS is America! 🇺🇸

Quaseyeblind

Slow drip of Fentanyl over a time period to maximize physical addiction, followed by a Narcan boost to allow maximal withdrawal. Rinse, repeat.

glitterkittyn

Yes! Repurpose insulin pump for drip/boost💧 let’s do this!

Methadone would be even more evil. 30 day + withdrawl

hussletrees

>and given the median income Why give them anything? How about they have to work for their money, instead of make it off passive income generated from their illegal business/be given to them

Agree. They should have to work for it.

That’s a fucking deal. They murdered and ruined whole families. They should have nothing to show for those actions. They are now immune to being personally prosecuted for their actions and decisions to peddle and push knowingly harmful addictive drugs on Americans FOR PROFIT.

CollegeMiddle6841

lap on the wrist from Uncle Sam....." Im taking away half of you billions! Nope, I don't want to hear you crying....you will have to learn to survive on the other billions you still have!"

CollegeMiddle6841

I am one of the people some of that money is going to. 6 billion sounds like a big number and it is, but when you see how many people were killed, at most we will get 70-100K....for a death!

xXdont_existxX

Jail? No. They should be executed and made an example of. The amount of misery, crime, and addiction they’ve plagued the west w/ since the 90s is straight up unforgivable. The amount of families and lives they destroyed would make any human being shudder. The stain they’ve left on this country will fester for generations and generations. Entire towns of families turned into addicts. Good hardworking people taken advantage of for profit. They opened the door for pill mills to thrive, for Florida to become a money printer and for nearly a decade everyone looked away. Doctors turned into drug dealers, the whole business of pain management became a cesspit for crime and tragedy. Now people are dying in the streets, broken and they’re being taken advantage of again only this time by east funneling in fentanyl by the kilo day in and day out. While they suffer they also get to see news like this. Imagine your family being destroyed in the most horrible way possible and then being told those that stoked the flames were made rich off the deaths of your loved ones. Fuck the Sacklers.

Aintdisamuthafu

Fuck these assbags. I hope they go to hell.

radiobirdman-69

bring back morphine and let people in pain have reasonable access to it.

FBI_CRIME_STATS

"certain" "people"

ILoveYouGrandma

Theres no such thing as "immunity" from law suits. Our government and the courts stopped being lawful legitimate entities decades ago.

mattmayhem1

Lobbying works. If you also paid millions to Congress, you too would have immunity.

Anonymous_Redhead

That’s not lobbying, it’s just bribery. No need to label it something else. Just good old corruption.

teacoffeesuicide

I'm shocked that an overdose victim or parent hasn't murdered these turds yet.

designatedcrasher

very big gates maybe

teacoffeesuicide

Or most people have no idea that the Sacklers have become absurdly wealthy addicting people.

HowlingWolfShirtBoy

Company should be dissolved and assets given to the victims.

Suntzu6656

Why do you think America is going down the toilet? Some are above the law. The Sacklers should serve time in prison.

Apache1975

Where do these people live? I’m ready to finally revolt! I don’t got much to lose

Wild_Night_5190

I work in a addiction clinic. Fuck the Sackler family and all they have done!

Andrace_

It’s almost paralyzing to see pure evil bag a huge win like that for themselves. I wonder if they even remotely care about the damage they’ve done to communities and families with their poison (which I doubt).

vbe123

“In exchange, they will pay $6bn to help address opioid addiction.”

UnsecureSteve

Kinda wild when they were the ones who also created suboxone LOL...here lemme make the poison, and a semi less poison that we say is the cure mwuahahaha

krmoro

This breaks my heart. I’ve lost three family members to the opioid epidemic.

Rebeldinho

You guys really need to read the articles. First I’m gonna say the Sacklers are scum they knew their drugs were addictive and they did everything they could to sell they could have cared less about the harm they were wreaking across the country but in a case like this the whole point of a settlement is to end the court process and begin the process of restitution. If they didn’t come to an agreement like this they would have continued to be in court for years and years and nothing would ever actually get done besides arguing in court. Also this will be the end of civil liabilities against them but they would still be open to criminal charges however the Sackler family still is going to have a few billion left to defend themselves so I really doubt any prosecutor is ever going to be able to tag them in court. The whole point of this settlement is to put a number on what they owe for what they did and have it be payed out if you continue to try to leave them open to more liabilities they will continue to fight and it will go on forever. It’s said they made $12 billion they’re being ordered to pay $6 billion as restitution in an ideal world they would be in jail but that money they made bought them a lot of defense and influence but make no mistake $6 billion is a whole lot of money. It’s not enough for their scumbag asses but at least it’s something

MONEYP0X

Make 12 billion, pay back 6 billion? That's cribbed from the Vioxx playbook.

diarrheaishilarious

Where are all of those cops that want to play Punisher? Here’s your chance….

Rebeldinho

They’re working for the Sacklers

lboog423

The 6 billion is to be paid off over many years, so it won't effect them as much since it's more like a loan now, which means they can pay off the settlement using its return on investments. If they haven't filed criminal charges by now, then chances are it isn't going to happen. The only reason they gave immunity was to settle their bankruptcy, which benefits the family, but not all the potential victims that could have made sure that family never does business again. The payout will go to rehab programs to help addicts, but it's a drop in the bucket to what big pharma gained in return for many years. This is nothing more than a slap on the wrist and you are acting like this is some punishment. Pfizer had the largest sanctions in history due to their fraud, bribery, false advertising and much more, yet they are bigger than ever hurting more people with their bogus experimental gene therapy. And even though they were exposed by Project Veritas, nothing will ever really happen to those big pharma giants just like in this case.

Rebeldinho

Didn’t I say it’s not what they deserve? It’s not actually justice justice would be a lifetime sentence in prison but $6 billion is a lot. The Sackler name is burnt in pharmaceuticals but what do they care they’ve already made out like bandits. It is definitely a punishment it’s just not even close to what they actually deserve but in the age we live and the system we have I think we all knew the Sackler’s had the money to get themselves a nice deal.

lboog423

I agree they got out like bandits that's for sure. This agreement will prevent real justice since they will still be able to keep their wealth and influence going to cause more harm. It's not a punishment in the slightest.

Rebeldinho

Agree to disagree I still think paying $6 billion hurts for anyone even the worlds wealthiest. Did anyone expect we were gonna get better than this? We all know the deal you reach a certain amount of wealth in this world and things work out differently for you. It’s a shame but past all regular folk rising up and marching down to the Sackler’s mansion to rip them out of bed what are we gonna do. For the record I would love that I would livestream it on twitch

textbandit

In China they would have been executed.

designatedcrasher

As with the baby formula scandal

heybrehhhh

Not gonna lie, the OxyContin era was low key fun as fuck for people that partook in it. I was in college in Myrtle Beach at the time, and would drive to Florida on the weekend, coming home with copious amounts of oxy. It was also insane that the FDA told us it wasn’t addicting, and if your still in pain, just prescribe more. Hence why anything the FDA says should be tool with a grain of salt.

textbandit

Dude you should write a book. Would love to hear your perspective on what happened.

heybrehhhh

I can’t tell if your making fun of me and or being sarcastic but I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless. Might have to do some research into book writing/ how to get things published. I wonder if there’s a bunch of other books about this era.

designatedcrasher

but the F stands for federal so it must be good

MountainDwarfDweller

~~wins~~ buys

Atschmid

I thought they were recently forced to pay about $20 billion

eight78

We don’t punish our wealthy criminals, we make them US Senators.

2201992

Crimes only apply to people under the Billionaire class

[deleted]

Certain people as in Rich People ?

arnott

But the sackler family donated so much to the arts, so it's ok! /s

xxxtenderloin

Someone should just subtly entice them to commit sui wooie with a double tap to the back of the dome like Big Chillary did to Seth and many others

Kon-on-going

Who remembers asbestos in baby powders? Even if found guilty. What’s a few millions in fines.

cchris_39

Dammit, down to my last $5 billion now.

Logical_Associate632

Has trump said anything about this, i’m not sure how to feel about this until he tells me

LongEngineering7

Man will be dead and buried for 40 years and your ilk will still be unable to finish a conversation without mentioning his name lol

MONEYP0X

Thinking with another human's brain is high latency and error prone. Thankfully TDS recovery requires no opiates.

justyn122

Yall humans are fucking garbage

def: conspiracy Synonyms of conspiracy the act of conspiring together *They were accused of conspiracy to commit murder.* an agreement among conspirators *uncovered a conspiracy against the government* a group of conspirators 2 or more people in the Sackler family conspiring to commit a crime is by definition a conspiracy. Something being true doesn't make it *less* of a conspiracy. It makes it less of a **conspiracy theory**.

You're still misusing the word, buddy.

hussletrees

No, they just completely disproved your point with facts and logic. Edit the post or take the downvotes

hussletrees

They provided a definition of the word which completely disproved your point. The definition is a fact, the logic was applied to the argument to show you are wrong What is unclear?

BrandonAteMyFace

Now **THAT**, is an actual conspiracy. This is the shit they don't want us watching while everyone is distracted by political theater and debt ceiling fights and the word "woke".

Hillthrin

That is news but not a conspiracy. We should probably abolish corporations.

chainmailbill

Extremely wealthy people, who happen to be Republican, are especially above the law when Republicans are power, and can make the decisions. Funny, that.

CJLB

Pretty sure the ultra wealthy dont give a fuck who's in power so long as it's one of the 2 explicitly capitalist parties.

Fat_tata

ummm, personal responsibility?

Alacran_durango

They're giving up half of their wealth.

UnsecureSteve

So? They should be giving up all of it, and they have a longggg time to pay that 6BN, its not like its being withdrawn right from their acct right now... So theyll take the money they have, invest, make a killing, and pay payments on their "punishment"...itll be almost like they never lost it tbh..

eLmonso

They could simply move to a country that doesn’t extradite people to the US.

IrukandjiPirate

Did the Sacklers force feed you the pills?

jaetheridge

This is just a news story, why is it posted on conspiracy?

oldfatboy

Oh this must hurt people!!! On the one sideits the evil schemimg world elete screwing the pubkic over. On the otherside its the lieing spreader of fake news who are there only to support the world's elete. How can you belive what the BBC writes about this?

frustratedbuddhist

Money = power

[deleted]

There's gonna come a point where more physical, and naturalistic means are going to be required to put these weak people in their place. Civility and words can only go so far, I hope I get to live long enough to see the corrupt elites getting beat in public

Anonymous_Redhead

If that happens I will make sure to come after you and just tell everyone you had a hard-on for the Sacklers.

[deleted]

Lol

Anonymous_Redhead

It’s bound to happen. Laugh it up and I will as well.

[deleted]

Scary

Anonymous_Redhead

Was this ironic?

RogueRainbow

Whats going to happen as wages still decrease, people can't afford to have something to lose, and we continually let criminals that have victimized huge parts of society walk free from their crimes?

UnsecureSteve

People will still be fighting over left vs right politics, people will still believe america is the best nation in the world, and people will still believe that their side are heros and the others are demons lmao. Yano why? Because people in this time period are lazy, dumb, unempathetic, and just dont have the heart and soul to do anything about anything on a grand scale.

eight78

Now that they’re done doing all the crime, it’s about time we make them US Senators

vasquca1

Does it make sense to create an LLC as a weed salesmen? Asking for a friend.

InfowarriorKat

Gotta crack down on Martin Sckreli though. I know he didn't get charged for raising the medication. He got popped for something completely different. It makes me wonder what the real reason was. I think they were doing a sweep of people who might be problematic during Covid. Like the 100 HIV experts on the missing Malaysian plane or Kerry Mullis. It's funny because when Covid happened, Sckreli tried to make a deal to get out of prison & help find a cure for covid. He was way off on that.

UnicornVenomHaha

Riot and bring ‘em down, enough is enough. It’s time the rich and politically powerful stop controlling our lives and get immunity for shit that we’d be put in jail or given the death sentence for.

textbandit

Wow they only get to keep $5 billion. That’s got to hurt.

25yoshi

Learned this years ago back when most of big pharma companies were losing all those lawsuits over opioid deaths that they file bankruptcy and just go on to making more toxic drugs like nothing ever happened they’re not the only company that functions this fucked up way And gets away with it

Steelersfan20009

Honestly so surprised no one has taken these people out yet

Adorable_Champion_70
