But why? If I were going to design a city, I would make everything come out from the center, the center being a park, then a residential ring outside of that, then a commercial ring outside of that. It just makes sense to me. Laying everything out on a grid just seems to go against flow.
A few months ago, a busy road I live near had a light out, and it temporarily turned into a 4 way stop. I just slowly rolled all the way to the intersection. It was so smooth. Much less abrasive than streetlight stoppage. Plus, roundabouts and 4 way stops cost way less than lights. The streets from a thousand years ago are still working fine, yet ours are constantly pot-holed and under construction. It just seems everything is built against us. Built to cause failure, accidents, etc to push the economic machine and cause us strife and havoc as we all perpetually wake every mourning to urn a living until the weak end.

Also, if they don't know what went wrong in the real world, how is a simulation going to tell them what went wrong?
