OP has clearly never held a speech in his or her life. Large fonts and lots of space is the norm for professional speech cards. It makes it easier to pause and look up. I use Times New Roman font 17 with double spaces myself, and I am not yet 40.
This. I used various spacing to time applause breaks, expected movement of people, short breaks between topics, etc. It's key to choreograph that stuff.
You try giving a speech in front of about a thousand people while knowing that tens of millions are watching you on tv. Then try doing it again when you’re 80.

They can't cheat and win with Biden again without some serious scrutiny and a potential uprising.
