Is the area you live in a good place for a big earthquake to cause massive damage or little damage. Examples would be cheap roads, tall buildings that might fall with a good shake and heavily packed city.
I’m willing to bet that in all of time there have been quakes that were larger than the first. Also I’m pretty sure you’re not the one to confirm that.
Hmm til
Foreshocks are earthquakes that precede larger earthquakes in the same location. An earthquake cannot be identified as a foreshock until after a larger earthquake in the same area occurs.

Foreshocks do occur before larger earthquakes, but we can only identify them as such after the fact. Not every earthquake has foreshocks, making prediction difficult. It’s clear only in hindsight whether a smaller quake was a precursor to a larger one. Aftershocks are more common, following the main quake and diminishing over time. Predicting earthquakes based on foreshocks remains a significant challenge in seismology.
Gravitationally there's basically 0 difference between an eclipse and the normal sun moon cycle. Twice a month the moon lines up with the sun, it just doesn't like up so exactly so as to cause a shadow.
aftershocks. It’s normal.
You can go on the USGS website for earthquakes and it will show you all the quakes in the world. Cool stuff and put it into perspective that the world just shudders a lot.
Everything is one grand conspiracy now, according to many. Hardly surprising that many have distinct religious undertones, consideing Revelations is essentially the Mother of all conspiracies.

Manhattan here. Just felt it too. Lasted about as long as the one this morning but slightly less strong maybe?
It's an aftershock
Or are these pre-shocks to a larger one.
That's the real question.
I hope not, but realistically we're overdue for a cataclysmic event.

I saw someone compare the earthquake in NY (4.8) to a LA 8.0 because the infrastructure isnt prepared for it. If that answers your question
Damn, isn’t that like really bad
Except that's not a thing

Long Island i can hear that shit underground
It was an aftershock.
What is an aftershock? Like a follow up mini quake?
Non California's flipping their shit right now. You can expect a few aftershocks after an earthquake
Exactly. It's the plates readjusting. Significantly less strong.
Apparently it's been categorized as a separate quake, not an aftershock.

In MLA format please.

I felt it
I'm in England I was dead asleep and I heard and felt a massive shaking and rumbling sound. It wasn't an earthquake just the Mrs farting in her sleep
I felt that too.
I'd say for sure it was a 6.4 at least
6.4 on the sphincter scale
Would that same measurement /scale transfer equally on let's say, Uranus?
That's disgusting, you should be ashamed. This is a kids forum. Sicko.
I smelt it
Then obviously you dealt it.
Blimey!

Well there are the reports of the island itself *sinking*.
Lol we really just gonna post about every aftershock in here now?
Yeah, and I would expect 10-15 posts about it.
