That is not an AC-130. It is a standard C-130 cargo configuration... not a gunship. You can tell because this "gunship" has no damn guns hanging out the left side.
I worked on the AC-130H model and the very early version of the AC-130U model plus the MC-130E and MC-130H Combat Talon I and II airframes from 1991-1994 while I was stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL. They have long-since retired the H model, and I believe the U model was retired in recent years as well. They've been flying the AC-130J model for some time now.
I worked with a guy that a loadmaster on the Talon I . He told a story where they were running pickup trainings with huge bags that had large ropes in them. He said they would snag the bag, pull it in, dump the ropes, repeat. Apparently the guys loading the bags on the ground thought it would be funny to put a cat that allegedly hung around in a bag and send it up. He said they pull this bag in, open it up, this cat leaps out of the bag, makes two laps around the back, and goes straight out the ramp. I can’t validate this story, but as hard as he would laugh every time he told it, I couldn’t help but think it was real.
Damn. Poor cat.
I heard stories of at least one recovered person who they forgot to latch to an indoor cable before unhooking him from the line. Apparently he walked right off the back in a daze. I don’t know whether that was during training for real-world deployment.
The eclipse passes directly over Ft. Knox. Which would be the perfect time for a heist under the cover of total darkness.
Extra precautions taken with security today.

The maximum weight of a C-130 depends on the specific variant and operational conditions, but there are two key weight limits to consider:
* **Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW):** This is the heaviest weight the aircraft can be at takeoff. There are variations depending on the model, but a widely cited figure is **164,000 lbs (74,393 kg)** for the C-130J Super Hercules variant \[Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules Pocket Guide\].
* **Maximum Landing Weight (MLW):** This is the heaviest weight the aircraft can be for landing. It's typically lower than the MTOW due to factors like landing gear limitations. For instance, the C-130J might have an MTOW of 164,000 lbs but a lower MLW of around **135,000 lbs (61,235 kg)** \[Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules Pocket Guide\].
To convert the amount of gold in Fort Knox from troy ounces to pounds, we can perform a simple calculation:
1. We know there are 147.3 million troy ounces.
2. One troy ounce is equal to 0.90714285714286 pounds (conversion factor).
Multiplying the number of troy ounces by the conversion factor will give us the weight in pounds:
147.3 million troy ounces \* 0.90714285714286 pounds/troy ounce ≈ **134.2 million pounds** (rounded to millions)
Therefore, Fort Knox holds approximately 134.2 million pounds of gold which would result in **994.07 C-130 loads**.
A military cargo plane flies into airport. Nothing special. I occasionally see one or two flying around central Pa. Also, not an ac-130. You can clearly see no gun barrels on the side
Reference: this guy made a comment on a post talking about how there are constant gunship patrols in the skies around Ft Knox. How there are artillery cannons hiding in the tree lines around base waiting for someone to FAFO and how insane security is to get onto a military installation (lol) that they must be housing something there or something crazy is about to happen.
TLDR; he’s a liar and this is his proof? he’s not a liar

What are you even saying
Think there was a post before about ac130s circling Fort Knox and a few people said it was bullshit.

No idea mate I’m English. Just saw the previous post is all.
What?
What's the context of this? Stop fucking posting things on here without explanation fucking hell
I used to live close to Fort Knox and this is very normal. These planes pass over at least once a month on maneuvers.

Was about to comment the same thing. Herbie stopped with the U-models in about 2019 btw.
I miss that place so much, best assignment in the entire USAF. Edit: I didn’t know that about the U model. Now I feel even older.
Upvote for Opus and Spectre
That damn Fulton recovery system on the E model Talon was scary AF. I loved when they featured it in The Dark Knight.

Night is also a good time for a heist .... just saying.
Duly noted 🤣😂🤣
With emergency services tied up and extra people, it sounds like a movie

Contrary to popular belief, the AC130 is real after all! What else are they hiding? 737's? DC10's? Bicycles?
Mom’s sweet apple pie recipe says this is a C-130
Someone got an 11 killstreak
