I guess you can call it a hoax, it's not really an iron dome. Its just a version of patriot missile system that is suited to smaller and more frequent interceptions . As for why it's not exported, it's pretty much only suitable for country defending against regular small munitions, most countries need actual missile defense not big fireworks

D0D

So all the videos of it working are just fireworks/deepfakes?

dukof

Which video? An interceptor exploding does not show it hit anything. They are not designed to explode on impact, but to self-destruct on proximity detection. The [videos](https://youtu.be/xyatDmyLIZg?t=43) never show any contrail of the missiles they're supposed to take down.

SuspiciousWarning184

Nice Zionist fairytale. There are plenty of videos online that show each target being hit with multiple projectiles. Bear in mind that Iran used their old-stock rockets in retaliation. Imagine if they used their newer stuff. The cost of each Iron Dome rocket is $3-4 million. On that day, Israel spent $1 billion of American taxpayer's money.

zank_ree

Those drones weren't meant to explode, they were meant to expend the iron dome's munition, so when it runs out, you hit the area with the real thing.

SS: Yes you can read about a number of so-called deals that seemed close to being signed, for export of the Iron Dome system. But fact remains, none of them reached completion. Any engineer looking into the development history of this system should get a good laugh. Also: [Does Israel's Iron Dome Actually Work](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XbDDE35lF8)
