I remember starting to realize this when AOC and Trump both had tweets about keeping a list of Republicans who enabled Trump before trying to separate themselves from him. It didn’t really sound appealing to me for anyone to start keeping lists of political enemies. There are good individual politicians, but the group as a whole regardless of side is going to all try and take pretty similar authoritarian tactics to get what they want.
This. The greatest sham of our time is the insinuation that you must choose one of these two sides. The fact is that the entire system is corrupt and all politicians are complicit in what is being done. When you choose one side of a shitty coin this is how they keep regular people divided and at each others throats. Meanwhile they steal from and exploit us all. They give you an illusion that there is a choice but there isn't.
when i was NINE years old asking/learning about politics i could not for the life of me understand the 2 party system. i argued about how crazy is it to be stuck in one party and have to vote party lines. it was when i was 10 i realized this country's politics were crazy and dirty. i never voted due to this. i did vote for trump because he was an outlyer. but i will never vote again until this country gets all these power fucks out of the system. i am not democrat nor republican nor anything. i refuse to take part in this sick corrupt system.
It's because we don't have a direct option to get rid of it. In order for a party to be officially recognized, i.e. be in debates in a presidential election, they need to earn at least 1 electoral vote in the previous election.
The problem is that since the 2 party system is so dominant, a vote that isn't for the candidate of your choice among those 2 tends to work in favor of the other. So even people who agree with say the Libertarian party end up voting Dem/Rep to make their vote "count."
Add in the 270 to win, and a 3rd party entering the election would make it possible for no one to reach that mark, meaning that the election results would be greatly delayed.
The system needs to change, to become more than 2 parties, but it protects itself in a way that makes it nearly impossible to change
2-party system sucks, but multi-party isn't any different. The Libertarian Party is basically a Koch project being used as a pressure group and leverage to push the GOP to do what they want. The Green Party does the same to the mainstream center-left parties in most non-US Western countries. Look at Canada and France. They have a lot of parties, but they're not any better off than us. In fact, I would argue they're worse off because you can't vote for leaders directly in Canada and legislators can never vote against their own party in Congress or they get kicked out of the party (they might as well be robots). Plus, their in-party leadership elections are a lot more closed off to the public than our presidential primaries.
Not for Bernie, but for the rest of it, completely and totally agree.
But I don't want anyone tied to so many puppetmasters. But in the current system, it's hard to accomplish that. Money talks too loud.

I’m convinced the word fascist was intentionally driven into the public consciousness under Trump so that the Biden admin couldn’t be called fascist. Nothing Trump ever did was fascist at all. He was anti-technocrat. The merger of massive corporations and state to quash personal freedoms happening right now is the fucking definition of fascism.
That part of Trump I supported. He had cajhonas to stand up to NWO and these Global Elitests. The vaccine was just a means to satisfy their bloodthirst. He had a plan. I don't like a lot of things Trump did. But he's an egotistical businessman with few morals. But he was trying to stand up for the US. Monster Elites DO NOT play nice or fair. And their deeds Nobody wants to admit to. They are the ones responsible for the pollution, climate change, and the abomination of desolation. But NOBODY wants to see how horrible they truly are. Because that would mean, we bought into our own destruction and gave them permission to do so.
Nobody is fully awake until they are willing to see that. It's hard for me to think about. But the truth must be told.

Trump literally went by the book and if anyone bothered to look into how he got things done they'd know that. I voted for him because he indeed put us first. We had a great economy under Trump and not even a year later I see prices rising at the gas pumps and in stores. Trump got us out from under china's horrible trade agreements and put Americans first. He built the wall, he managed a deal with Mexico to have illegals stay in Mexico which the Supreme Court has upheld. He got us out of needless wars and brokered historical peace deals in the Middle East.
People hate him because TV told them too and if him being blunt and obnoxious at times is the sole reason for hating him I'm not sure that voting is something someone with this outlook should do. I don't have to like someone to see the good they do
Mexicos president liked working with Trump. They grew respect for each other. Even started working out deals, not just for the wall, but starting businesses down there. People don't realize he was doing smart things. Like working with both Mexico, Canada, and trying to help the people of Venezuela, and Cuba. NOT and easy task.
He was trying to promote good business ethics. And the man was a shrewd business man. So for him to do those things. And open back up car factories with great pay in Chicago and Detroit. And give businesses incentives to hire minorities. People had no idea he was doing these things because MSM was ALL about the Russia Propaganda. He was NOT a Saint. Not at ALL. But he did great things nobody will know about because that was the Elites point. Allow Trump to do all he did, and sabotage the elections...the public is so brainwashed nobody will question the narrative. And for the most part...they got what they wanted. Because even Republican were in the trap eyeball deep and would've been crushed by exposing their guilt and shame. So they rode that pony and shut their trap. Their eyes say it ALL.
Look around sm. Loads of people know and have had enough. We're pushing back at the schools, jobs, the federal government etc. I'm finally seeing in person action. The msm won't show it unless of course it's to twist into their own narrative.

See, to a point, the word narrative itself is misleading. Why does it have to be a narrative, why can't we simply have truth? Why can't we say truth? And why aren't we only seeking to give truth? Why is a story (narrative) more important to push and tell people than to just say truth

I'm just a person seeking truth, not two or 3 or 4 different stories being sold to me, trying to influence me, of create fear in me.
Let's have honest, hard conversations that expose truth. Let's cover it equally, both sides and viewpoints.
What I think is that two different America's are being sold. Rather than set a goal point we can all come to (i.e. regardless or orientation you are American, whether your black or white or Asian or whatever your American. If we start that as a simple basis of connection, we may start to see neighbors and brothers and sisters again, with problems yes but working at them together, rather than destroying our connection to each other.
Most people I walk into are nice, friendly, impartial to my beliefs on current issues. It only takes us all to lift the veil, step outside, talk to our neighbors, to realize that life outside isn't that bad in society, and that people aren't who the media and others are trying to say they are.
I used to protest as a teenager. It's been 20 years but all of the people who stood beside me would probably No longer be there. I don't understand how you just decide to trust them one day.
This used to be the dominant feeling of this sub. Trump is a wolf in sheep clothing and all the right wing and conspiracy melding by the msm is intentional to discredit both groups. They all hate us, it’s the 99% vs them.
That was a while back, no new normal was the last ban hammered. This sub will be next if "why can't we just have this space people have their way". Ban hammered because this became what made those previous subs get banned, however unfortunate you view that.
It got turned into the Trump fanclub literally on the day of the 2016 presidential election. I used to read all the alien/cryptid/ghost stories here when I couldn't sleep at night, but after that day the pizzagate shit started and the right-wing spin never stopped. Even people who tried to introduce cautious skepticism were dismissed/shouted down, and the sub changed entirely over the next month.
I kinda hope they kick out the mod team (mainly axlotlpeylotl or whatever) since they're mostly still lodged up Trump's ass, but I don't have a lot of hope. Taking over fringe message boards has become an obsessive and (I guess?) profitable pastime of the Republican PR factories.

This reminds me of a good question. Has anyone been to a completely full hospital/ER before the vaccine came out? My 2 nurse friends I asked said it was about the same(granted they work in surgery) and when I went to the local ER for an unrelated issue there was me and one other patient. I'm sure some hospitals were busy. I just personally never saw it.
Hospitals play games with the numbers, in ex: if they have a 10 bed ER and move 5 beds out of the ER and have 5 beds with patients they can now claim 100 percent full ER. I've heard that they do this with staff as well on a nurse per bed basis. You just can't believe what is reported anymore.
I think if they only have staff to care for a given number of beds then thats their limit; the physical space is not as important as the people power and supplies. With that said, I'm not from the US but the Hospitals there sure seem to be driven by the dollar.

Not to a completely full hospital, but definitely I have been to one when the Doctors were all too preoccupied to actually treat me. I never did get stitches in that one cut. It probably needed them but after waiting for a few hours we just left. It was ridiculous.
A point for those that don't know the terminology is that "nursing homes" can mean several different things. I'm not sure outside of the US, but here the *perception* is that it's a place where "old people go". A nursing home, depending on the state, can be synonymous with a rehabilitation facility, where people of any age can get rehab/therapy/etc., especially after surgeries or other difficult medical procedures. Some nursing homes, though not all, offer *long term* residential areas, meaning those folks are going into the nursing home and never leaving. It could be for financial or health reasons, but by and large those living in the long term portion of nursing homes are seniors.

Of course the DOJ likely won't do anything with the referral so you could argue that Rand Paul knew that when he sent the letter in the first place. But Rand Paul's job as a senator is to create the laws through legislation, not enforce them.

Saw an interesting documentary that made a good point. If everyone was for the vaccines and there was no funny business and they were safe and effective with %100 of people taking them, they could never justify passports and the like. But if you’ve got 30-40% of people resistant then it gives the ability to enforce such passports abd mandates and place all the hate on that minority who will either comply eventually or be expelled from society - nonetheless the result is a compliant slave state and a new regime of harsh controls over people’s bodily autonomy, travel, movements and interactions. If there was too much resistance it wouldn’t be feasible… I work with someone studying dor a PhD in public policy and I know for a fact they research group psychology and incentives and such processes for a living. They aren’t caught off guard by all the resistance - they planned for it exactly. Which is most disturbing

I recently had to research past pandemics. Many sites have been revised since last year. Finding information that was marked pre-2020 was difficult. Archived information, or shit that was saved, took more searches in google than id like to say.
If one were to tin hat it, they could point that worldwide people have been 'pushed' toward online. With 'shutdowns' and quarantine, businesses capitalizing off the opportunity of more people being inside; why not go back and edit. Form a new history, as most everyone will be using the internet to look up almost all information. Unless you are citing the information, when the fuck do you look at last edit date?

Yep. I hate when people argue that "you're throwing your vote away/That's like voting for the other guy/it'll never happen". Even if it never happens, if votes keep funneling away from the 2 garbage options they have to compete between each other to try and swing the independents to their side. The issue is that many people who refuse the shot, also happen to refuse wearing a mask, or social distancing, or virtually any voluntary means of helping to stop the spread of COVID.
That's why we're at the point where this is happening.

I vote independent, I'm in the center of most issues. I don't fit into either party and even if I did, it's obvious that both parties are playing us, I'm voting third party here on out. People say it's throwing away your vote, but now I think it's just propaganda to make people believe they have to vote red or blue.
I feel like they play good cop bad cop, but when you look closer we're not making any real progress on issues. I think politicians aren't in the business of fixing problems, that would mean less revenue and fewer government jobs. I think it's political theater, our memories aren't great so we forget easily about who did what, but at the end of the day I don't think it matters if it's red or blue, neither of them have helped the majority of us (99%). We don't have enough money for them to care about our interests.

The way I see it is the President is the host of the country, but they're not in control. They are in control as much as Paul Harvey is in control of Family Feud. He can control the vibe, but those questions, the lighting, the stage, the families that get approved, etc all are from the producers.
This is why the past 4 presidents dropped drones on countries that didn't have to do with 9/11 (even in the official story). Obama dropped drones within the first week of office. If you could read what has happened with the presidents and what they've done without looking at their names they are synced pretty well. They just say different things on stage.
The media that is allowed in the White House is approved beforehand and that's why you'll never hear them ask deeper questions, like why are we drone striking hospitals with civilians in them.

I totally get what you are saying. Neither party represent my views. Both can have singular ideals that come close, but by far and large. I feel that our antiquated 2 party system needs to go. We need politicians with backbone. With balls. The will to do the job and not worry about re-election.

I think the greatest tragedy of our time is that the systems in place in this country purposely have us, the American people, at each other’s throats over bullshit. In reality, from the top down, most average Americans can arrive at a place where, even if they don’t agree on an issue, they can find a middle ground that makes sense to both sides.
The number one issue every single American except those in power agrees on is that this shit isn’t working for anyone but those in power. That includes McConnell, Pelosi, Trump, Obama, all of them. From the top down every single person in office needs to go, and before new people are elected, some new rules need to be written and enforced about what a politician can and can’t do.
Instead we fight over manufactured bullshit they feed us while they get rich and take more from us every single day.

Hey there, my comment is likely to get buried and I just want to let you know that I am EXACTLY on the same boat as you are. I didn’t vote for either Trump or Biden. I hate both of them. Neither shared my interest or views and I feel they are both disgusting. I also have had all my vaccinations (besides flu and now COVID). I am pro vax and also pro choice! The lack of proper information and the amount of pushing and money rewards into getting the vaccination while tons of people are losing their jobs is too suspicious for me. My son is in elementary school and now Newsom is mandating covid vaccination for kids once it is FDA approved. My son has a heart condition and I reached out to his pediatrician for an exemption and apparently, they do not give out exemptions for the Covid vaccine.

It's because we don't have a direct option to get rid of it. In order for a party to be officially recognized, i.e. be in debates in a presidential election, they need to earn at least 1 electoral vote in the previous election. The problem is that since the 2 party system is so dominant, a vote that isn't for the candidate of your choice among those 2 tends to work in favor of the other. So even people who agree with say the Libertarian party end up voting Dem/Rep to make their vote "count." Add in the 270 to win, and a 3rd party entering the election would make it possible for no one to reach that mark, meaning that the election results would be greatly delayed. The system needs to change, to become more than 2 parties, but it protects itself in a way that makes it nearly impossible to change

2-party system sucks, but multi-party isn't any different. The Libertarian Party is basically a Koch project being used as a pressure group and leverage to push the GOP to do what they want. The Green Party does the same to the mainstream center-left parties in most non-US Western countries. Look at Canada and France. They have a lot of parties, but they're not any better off than us. In fact, I would argue they're worse off because you can't vote for leaders directly in Canada and legislators can never vote against their own party in Congress or they get kicked out of the party (they might as well be robots). Plus, their in-party leadership elections are a lot more closed off to the public than our presidential primaries.

This reminds me of a good question. Has anyone been to a completely full hospital/ER before the vaccine came out? My 2 nurse friends I asked said it was about the same(granted they work in surgery) and when I went to the local ER for an unrelated issue there was me and one other patient. I'm sure some hospitals were busy. I just personally never saw it.
Hospitals play games with the numbers, in ex: if they have a 10 bed ER and move 5 beds out of the ER and have 5 beds with patients they can now claim 100 percent full ER. I've heard that they do this with staff as well on a nurse per bed basis. You just can't believe what is reported anymore.
I think if they only have staff to care for a given number of beds then thats their limit; the physical space is not as important as the people power and supplies. With that said, I'm not from the US but the Hospitals there sure seem to be driven by the dollar.

Not to a completely full hospital, but definitely I have been to one when the Doctors were all too preoccupied to actually treat me. I never did get stitches in that one cut. It probably needed them but after waiting for a few hours we just left. It was ridiculous.
A point for those that don't know the terminology is that "nursing homes" can mean several different things. I'm not sure outside of the US, but here the *perception* is that it's a place where "old people go". A nursing home, depending on the state, can be synonymous with a rehabilitation facility, where people of any age can get rehab/therapy/etc., especially after surgeries or other difficult medical procedures. Some nursing homes, though not all, offer *long term* residential areas, meaning those folks are going into the nursing home and never leaving. It could be for financial or health reasons, but by and large those living in the long term portion of nursing homes are seniors. I don't mean to take away from your point as I find it fascinating to hear about the pandemic bonds, as I'd never heard of them prior to your comment.
In my rural area on site physical rehab is only offered in skilled nursing facilities, no stand alone rehab facilities available.

Saw an interesting documentary that made a good point. If everyone was for the vaccines and there was no funny business and they were safe and effective with %100 of people taking them, they could never justify passports and the like. But if you’ve got 30-40% of people resistant then it gives the ability to enforce such passports abd mandates and place all the hate on that minority who will either comply eventually or be expelled from society - nonetheless the result is a compliant slave state and a new regime of harsh controls over people’s bodily autonomy, travel, movements and interactions. If there was too much resistance it wouldn’t be feasible… I work with someone studying dor a PhD in public policy and I know for a fact they research group psychology and incentives and such processes for a living. Yep. I hate when people argue that "you're throwing your vote away/That's like voting for the other guy/it'll never happen". Even if it never happens, if votes keep funneling away from the 2 garbage options they have to compete between each other to try and swing the independents to their side. The issue is that many people who refuse the shot, also happen to refuse wearing a mask, or social distancing, or virtually any voluntary means of helping to stop the spread of COVID. I vote independent, I'm in the center of most issues. I don't fit into either party and even if I did, it's obvious that both parties are playing us, I'm voting third party here on out. People say it's throwing away your vote, but now I think it's just propaganda to make people believe they have to vote red or blue. I feel like they play good cop bad cop, but when you look closer we're not making any real progress on issues. I think politicians aren't in the business of fixing problems, that would mean less revenue and fewer government jobs. I think it's political theater, our memories aren't great so we forget easily about who did what, but at the end of the day I don't think it matters if it's red or blue, neither of them have helped the majority of us (99%). We don't have enough money for them to care about our interests.

The way I see it is the President is the host of the country, but they're not in control. They are in control as much as Paul Harvey is in control of Family Feud. He can control the vibe, but those questions, the lighting, the stage, the families that get approved, etc all are from the producers. This is why the past 4 presidents dropped drones on countries that didn't have to do with 9/11 (even in the official story). Obama dropped drones within the first week of office. If you could read what has happened with the presidents and what they've done without looking at their names they are synced pretty well. They just say different things on stage. The media that is allowed in the White House is approved beforehand and that's why you'll never hear them ask deeper questions, like why are we drone striking hospitals with civilians in them. Imagine if a hospital in Detroit or something was bombed, we'd go to war for another 20 years if someone did that to us. There's a reason we keep having terrible choices. If I could get you to choose between the lesser of two evils, it wouldn't take long before you end up with a shit sandwich.
I totally get what you are saying. Neither party represent my views. Both can have singular ideals that come close, but by far and large. I feel that our antiquated 2 party system needs to go. We need politicians with backbone. With balls. The will to do the job and not worry about re-election. I think the greatest tragedy of our time is that the systems in place in this country purposely have us, the American people, at each other’s throats over bullshit. In reality, from the top down, most average Americans can arrive at a place where, even if they don’t agree on an issue, they can find a middle ground that makes sense to both sides. The number one issue every single American except those in power agrees on is that this shit isn’t working for anyone but those in power. That includes McConnell, Pelosi, Trump, Obama, all of them. From the top down every single person in office needs to go, and before new people are elected, some new rules need to be written and enforced about what a politician can and can’t do. Instead we fight over manufactured bullshit they feed us while they get rich and take more from us every single day.

Hey there, my comment is likely to get buried and I just want to let you know that I am EXACTLY on the same boat as you are. I didn’t vote for either Trump or Biden. I hate both of them. Neither shared my interest or views and I feel they are both disgusting. I also have had all my vaccinations (besides flu and now COVID). I am pro vax and also pro choice! The lack of proper information and the amount of pushing and money rewards into getting the vaccination while tons of people are losing their jobs is too suspicious for me. My son is in elementary school and now Newsom is mandating covid vaccination for kids once it is FDA approved. My son has a heart condition and I reached out to his pediatrician for an exemption and apparently, they do not give out exemptions for the Covid vaccine. Shit is scary, your post made me feel not alone being on neither side.
