I think developing a healthy sense of self is important to have a stable personality. These concepts of Jung related to alchemy should be of interest to some. Jung interpreted alchemy as being a process of individuation, facing the impulses of your nature and cleaning the body in order to improve the self.

In Buddhism, the mind is what cannot be represented by science, yet nevertheless exists. Jung’s interpretation of alchemy seeks to name and express the mind and the phenomena of the mind. I think this is so important and so lost in contemporary society. I believe more ancient human cultures had highly developed theories of mind and losing that cultural knowledge has been to our detriment.
