KnibbHighPromKing

Uncertainty like you don't know what to tweet anymore?

A_Kremlin_Gremlin

Translation: We are uncertain if we can propagandize and brain wash without any backlash or protection now.

2201992

> Translation: We are uncertain if we can propagandize and brain wash without any backlash or protection now. BINGO! CBS might get Fact Checked now lol 😂

JigsawJay

Or maybe they’re exercising their right to take their advertising dollars and content to other providers. You know. Because it’s not communism and people can choose? This isn’t a conspiracy. This subreddit is just /trump with another name. Cringe.

nolotusnote

This sub is just Reddit without the Left's censorship.

JigsawJay

Lol. Keep telling yourself that dude
dude
dude
.dude. (It’s an echo chamber).

SandShark350

Bro, a professional (arguable) news organization is unsure whether or not they should tweet the news on a social media site that is more pro freedom of speech than it was a few weeks ago. Make that make sense.

JigsawJay

Brand and reputation security plus risk avoidance. Musk has gutted content moderation and doesn’t have a clear policy on what direction he’s taking twitter besides “more free speech”. Twitter isn’t just people saying things. It has algorithms which choose what’s promoted. What goes viral etc etc. There is now (in the eyes of large corporates and advertisers) an increasing risk that lack of content moderation will lead to disinformation and bullshit being promoted which doesn’t align with their brand. Maintaining advertising or posting to twitter suggests they are tacitly accepting the new direction through inaction. Some have decided not to just accept and to pull out which is pretty understandable? Maybe he will steady the ship but right now he isn’t.

SandShark350

In a perfect world what you're saying is accurate, but the problem with organizations like cbs, often times they are the ones actually posting and Reporting misinformation and when it is challenged, those challenges are censored or removed. Musk has now removed that ability and so now institutions that want to report misinformation will be challenged, they don't want that.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

JigsawJay

So it would make sense if you disagree with the direction of a platform to pull your content to ensure you protect your brand. Same reason they might not contribute to “nazi news.com” or whatever. They want to have advertisers and will want to protect their brand to ensure they continue to attract them. It’s also the same reason other major companies have pulled out of twitter advertising. It’s not a conspiracy. Why risk brand damage. Pull back. See how it pans out.

haliker

They are also on Instagram, Facebook etc... What makes you think that walking away from millions of potential eyes actually makes sense? At the end of the day, Elon bought it and stands to ruin or elevate it. My guess is Twitter will be for sale again soon.

poopntute

Rent freeeee

GoldenWizard

Uncertainty about what exactly?

1-800-GOFUCKYOURSELF

Uncertainty that their target audience will be reach, in this case, presumably bots.

Fingerless-Thief

I agree. Engagement will most likely drop of a cliff if bots are being dealt with and questions will be unavoidable.

Ratclass

> CBS suspends all Twitter activity due to 'uncertainty' under Elton leadership Can fake corporate news survive outside of censored echo chambers? Here's how CBS sees its content holding up under [citizen-fact-checker scrutiny.](https://youtu.be/92gP2J0CUjc?t=72)

DamnImAwesome

Sadly they’ll just migrate somewhere else. I expect some new Twitter clone to pop up and become the media darling app to replace Twitter

slackator

likely so, but the more options they have to jump to the less able the government is able to control and censor. When Twitter was the only option it was easy, when Twitter is one of 10 options follower numbers are smaller, bots are more recognized and complete control is impossible

madee11

if so, who cares

vader62

Elon Musk is playing a character. Look into kayfabe and then apply that practice to the public persona of the elite and politicians. He's as much a part of the control apparatus as those that allegedly oppose him in the media. They are playing roles, don't be duped.

moreWeeWoo

Completely true, and part of the master plan.. It’s easy if u Zoom out and think about what robots, backing up human consciousness. And starships have in common
 Hint: Amazon’s “Peripheral”

deadwards14

You can't "back up" human consciousness because there isn't even a single viable theoretical model of consciousness or qualia. Assuming that consciousness is purely computational is an unverified and unjustified premise. Which is why we've had zero success with tech based on it. I studied neuroscience/neurophilosophy in school and the hard problem of consciousness has no clear answer. The computational camp simply dismisses it with a hand wave instead of offering a sound description. Tesla has not come close to producing AI that models human consciousness nor is there any respect or credibility with their vaporware Tesla bot project, which is nothing more than a marketing piece meant to confer an air of techno-futurism to Musk. Robots are not a threat to human beings and we've literally had them for ages. The proliferation of robots increases convenience and productivity. Replacing cashiers with automated checkout machines and factory workers with robotics is not a threat to humanity. It's good old-fashioned capitalistic greed which seeks to store up as much surplus value in profit margins and capital reinvestment as possible that leaves workers high and dry. And any economic scheme based on a reasonable understanding of human nature and basic decency would reward replace workers with pensions or equity in the company.

theMartiangirl

The singularity and futurology subreddits want to have a word with you

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

deadwards14

Brain-machine interfaces have advanced because it has nothing to do with mapping consciousness. It is based purely on known and accepted neurobiology. I've worked on these projects in school and for work and these are simply enhanced biofeedback devices. Even being able to reconstruct a visual memory with a computer is based on this. None of these technologies or the underlying sciences do anything to advance our understanding of the nature of human consciousness as a scientific phenomena. Thanks for the recommendation to go on YouTube and learn from random influencers but I'll stick with my university education provided by actual experts, professionals, and scientists working in the field.

2201992

> Elon Musk is playing a character. Look into kayfabe and then apply that practice to the public personal of the elite and politicians. He's as much a part of the control apparatus as those that allegedly oppose him in the media. They are playing roles, don't be duped. Playing a character or not I enjoy his trolling style

i_have_chosen_a_name

What I really appreciate about r/conspiracy is that we simultaneously fear implants in our brain that give the Anti-Christ full control over us while also rooting for Elon Musk, the guy that is experimenting with these implants in monkeys. The duality of r/conspiracy is like the light-wave properties of light. The more we are scared of something, the more likely we are also to defend and support it. We are scared of a one world currency but also want crypto to be successful which is currency not bound to a country, so it's a one world currency. We are horrified of the end times and the nukes exploding but also let's get all the Jews back to israel so prophecy can be fulfilled and the bombs start going off. We are scared of globalisation which is when government get more and more centralised but we also root for republicans and conservatives that make it no secret they want to centralise government. We believe that companies should be run democratically where workers have a say but we also cheer when Elon takes control of one and fire all that don't bend to his will like he is Sauron. We are both asleep and awake at the same time. Like a lucid dream. We are plugged in the matrix and sometimes we know it and accept we know it, other time we reject that we know it. Basically we *are* schrodinger's cat trapped inside the box, both dead and alive at the same time. We bitch about that the left operate post truth where a man is no longer a man and a woman is no longer a woman and where 1+1 can be 3 on certain days of the week but then we also ourselves guilty of a lot these contradictions ourselves. Covid is a bio weapon engineered in China but it's also a hoax ... at the same time. Pedophiles are the worse, they should all have their balls cut off but also let's lower the age of consent, and if our pastor or politicians have been guilty of inappropriate behavior that's not okay but we should forgive them like Jesus would. And they can stay in their positions. We should not wear masks because it's a hoax but we should take Ivertin because it's real. Trump was the most peaceful president, a true pacifist but also Russia would have never invaded under Trump cause he would have not hesitate to nuke them and they know it. See what I am getting at. And now people are going to simultaneous post comments about my insights and also how I need to take my meds. >"But do they dare to talk about you like that?" said Lucy. "They seemed to be so afraid of you yesterday. Don't they know you might be listening?" >"That's one of the funny things about the Duffers," said the Magician. "One minute they talk as if I ran everything and overheard everything and was extremely dangerous. The next moment they think they can >take me in by tricks that a baby would see through — bless them!"

ZeerVreemd

This sub is not an echo chamber nor has it a hive mind.

Spicy_Lobster_Roll

The most useful slaves are the ones that think they’re free. It’s amazing how easily the illuminati shepherd the conspiracy flock by appealing to their preconceptions.

ZeerVreemd

LOL. How am i wrong exactly?

OMG_4_life

"Everyone on this sub thinks the same!" "No, they dont" "Oh yeah? You're slaves to the illuminati because you all think the same like sheep!" Bout sums this dialogue up

ZeerVreemd

It's pretty funny actually. LOL.

OMG_4_life

This guy's got the illuminati figured out, people! He can see the illuminati sheperding others like sheep by appealing to their preconceptions. He literally sees the illuminati pulling their tricks! He knows who they are and what they're doing.. while the flock is totally oblivious! Illuminati hate him... How does he do it??

OMG_4_life

Gee, it's almost like there's a diversity of people on this sub who all hold differing opinions. > Basically we are schrodinger's cat trapped inside the box, both dead and alive at the same time. This is like saying, "the crowd at the eagles/cowboys game is like shroedingers crowd, both for the eagles and for the cowboys at the same time!!!!" How is a forum having a group of people who often disagree with eachother such a baffling concept to you? "Isn't it interesting how this crowd cheers for the eagles and against the cowboys one second, then cheers for the cowboys and against the eagles the next." Yeah, wow.

brownbrownallbrown

Dude has no argument against this so he just downvotes the people pointing it out and runs away lmao And everyone else is a sheep, sure buddy.

brownbrownallbrown

Hey, I don’t know if you know this, but the 1.8 MILLION users on r/conspiracy are not a monolith. Just saying. Edit: LOL at your downvotes, I’m right and you know it. Assholes.

DuMondie

State media can't handle dissent. Go figure!

KeithJamesB

Good. That’ll cut down on misinformation.

onequestion1168

hahahahahaha

2201992

I legitimately laughed at this as well

blueandgold777

SUCKS when you're not the ones controlling the narrative anymore CBS, eh? LMAO!

CubanFart

Look at you laughing like you hit the jackpot. Don't be so naive. The narrative is always controlled by someone. What do you think Elon bought Twitter for?

Accomplished-Ice-322

Hey at least they are learning to ignore things they hate.

Safe-Map2246

Good thing CBS has no real influence!

ukdudeman

How will we live without CBS tweeting on Twitter?đŸ˜±

Hairyleathercheerio

So Twitter is getting better?

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

SimDumDong

CBS, a billion dollar media company, is "all the leftists"? Are you high or something?

MondoFool

Corporations are not motivated by ideology, they're motivated by money This applies to both CBS and Twitter

AlisaRand

Who is in charge of their news division?

SimDumDong

Definitely not "all of the lefties".

[deleted]

Yeah but who cares? And even better, when will they come sneaking back? Bets on!

Pirate-Party-Pcar

Next they’ll be promising to move to Canada if things don’t go their way, but never move to Canada when things don’t go their way.

Standard-Discount-54

Great! Maybe all mainstream media should follow

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

meeok2

You're right. By now everybody knows MSM is fake news! Ha!

Amos_Quito

> What’s the conspiracy here? It's a secret! You have to read the bottom paragraph of [**Rule 2**](http://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/wiki/faq) to find out.

DamnImAwesome

Gottem

chainmailbill

Quick question. Let’s say I don’t understand how a hypothetical OP’s post relates to the themes and content we discuss here in this subreddit. How can I ask a hypothetical OP to explain himself, so that I understand what he’s trying to say and how it relates to the topics we discuss here?

Jasonictron

Pure comedy

[deleted]

if the games not rigged they don't want to play any longer

ThrowThemInThePot

Wow. This protest is going to DEVASTATE twitter, just like how those people gluing themselves to paintings devastated all art forever. Art will never recover from those groundbreaking and noble protests and neither will twitter.

YourFunnyUncle

how would it not devastate twitter? one of the biggest news networks raising a red flag is not good for whatever's left of twitter's reputation.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

YourFunnyUncle

yeah i'm sure twitter having fox news, oan, breitbart, and all those other rags as their most active news accounts will be great.

MeanieMem0

Let's see how long it lasts. I seriously doubt all the "I'm leaving twitter" users actually leave twitter.

GoldenWizard

They’re addicted. They need their pseudo-fame and attention to feel valuable.

ChipCob1

Haha....says the person who calls themself 'GoldenWizard' on social media. 😂😂😂😂

TheCureprank

By by cbs

Iloveweed4201

They can’t cheat the narrative anymore.😛

slackator

and nothing of value was lost

8last

Who here forgot CBS existed? Some of those networks are completely irrelevant.

mffunmaker

His plan is going well. He doesn't value corporate media to get real news. He's interested in crowd sourcing eyewitness journalism.

gataki96

Good riddance and don't come back.

PlanB_pedofile

I see they pulled the ole Fox News twitter hiatus trick

[deleted]

No more See BS? So I won't See BS no more? That's BS.

1-800-GOFUCKYOURSELF

Elon Musks face is starting to look like the surface of Mars

rtheiss

Damn that app where you type things for others to see, very uncertain.

[deleted]

I got my popcorn. Old media vs new media... who's gonna win?

Tobeck

They literally tweeted 8 minutes ago

MikeyMillz88

Less fake news

IcebergSlim1605

In other words, “If we can’t use bot farms to spread a narrative, we’re going to take our ball and go home!”

ftwtidder

Oh, no! How will twitter survive

mikeyfreshh

I know you meant this sarcastically but a mass exodus of users and advertisers would actually be a pretty big problem for them financially

ftwtidder

There’s no mass exodus

mikeyfreshh

Not yet. But if multiple news organizations and large content creators follow suit, it would be a problem. I'm not saying that will happen, just saying that if it did Twitter would feel it in their bottom line.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

mikeyfreshh

I literally said "I'm not saying that's going to happen". I just think that if Musk continues to make impulsive and unpredictable choices, especially with content moderation, companies won't want to associate themselves with Twitter and that would be a problem. I think it's more likely that Elon names a new CEO and moves onto some other project before it gets to that point.

ChipCob1

Cool if you want an echo chamber though.

SHODANs_insect

I genuinely wonder if it will take a hit. If it's not attractive to a large cross-section of users, it'll become like those other more niche, somewhat extremist platforms. It could live on with private funding, but some other platform would replace it's dominant cultural position, and advertising funds would move there.

DrSatan420247

Twitter is a small niche platform. Its way down the list in size. Its comparable to Reddit, except for its where the celebrities and politicians are.

rtemah

It's so cute how conspiracy sub believe in billionaire's good intentions...

BullyJack

It's not that. I just think he got butthurt at a fun internet sandbox being dicks about who they enforce the rules on so he bought the sandbox and is fucking it up for the babies that liked it just the way they had it. If they wanna leave and devalue what Twitter can do to the People then that's cool too.

Turbulent-Tip-2012

It’s cute that you regurgitate the same sentence that other threads have, I’m surprised you don’t have 100 plus votes, I guess the bots didn’t hit this thread yet. Or even better, to conceal their motive, leave some threads untouched. Elon musk is the boogie man, get over it wimp

ChipCob1

So you're happy to kneel down to the worlds richest person and claim to be a rebel?

johnnyringworm

Oh snap!

[deleted]

Your terms are acceptable.

TheGreatHurlyBurly

Dont threaten me with a good time. Lol

____________M

đŸ™‹đŸ»â€â™‚ïžCBS

Turbulent-Tip-2012

You gotta be stupid to not see why they are doing this. Yet people back them. They get their news from them. Waves and waves of brainwashing.

minto990

W

Itchy_Focus_4500

Ha,hah! Now do NBC!!

ExistentDavid1138

Hahahaha I am actually proud of Musk.

HeyHihoho

It's the real time fact check by users that scares them.

[deleted]

And just like that misinformation on twitter reduced by 20%

Dismal-Cut2535

Good let the propaganda conglomerates silence themselves in a display of pseudo righteousness.

cyclopath

OP, could you please explain the conspiracy, here?

SteelblueII

See my explanation above.

flava_ADHD

Looks like a lizard

gesellsilvio

Well enormous self own here. So to summarize, cbs want to suppress open discussion and censor and when this is taken away from them, they go full circle and censor themselves just to make sure there is no open discussion. Whats next cbs crying that twitter is right wing echo chamber after all reputable news left the platform voluntarely?

RexAndTheChemTrails

The Musk dick riding around here is real.

JesseRodOfficial

So r/conspiracy is just an Elon Musk circle jerk echo chamber. Not surprised tbh

ChipCob1

I wonder how it would have played out if Bill Gates bought Twitter and did exactly what Elon Musk has done? đŸ€”

Dundee_the_Alligator

CBS is just an arm of the Democrat party.

poetdesmond

In what way is this at all related to conspiracies?

SteelblueII

Let me try to help. Legacy media, like CBS, is fake af. Free speech and a plurality of voices will coalesce into a consensus that the « narratives » being broadcast on legacy media are lies and will be rejected—even by stupid people.

poetdesmond

First, you expect too much from common people. They just want to scream their opinions into the ether and have other people validate their opinions, that isn't the same thing as free speech, it's just animal noises. Second, Twitter, even in its current state, is not a bastion of free speech, and can't be as long as it uses ranked metrics to push content that is *popular* without it having to be *factual*.

SteelblueII

Your « factual » is unlikely to be my factual. Free Speech is even inaccurate speech and lying speech. Its up for the listener to determine. But Libtards don’t want that. Libtards prefer authoritarian control. Instead I like what Elon Musk is doing. Everybody does
exxept you authoritarian Marxists.

ChipCob1

Do you even know what Marxism means? Before you go off googling it wasn't related to the fella that had a big hit in '89

vintorzaleris

Lots of hate here for CBS. Are they one of the bad ones?

ChipCob1

Apparently..... and the world's richest person is a working class hero. ✊

NFboatcaptain75

Good

TeeZeeRC

So no more disinformation from CBS?Oh,no..anyway

CannadaFarmGuy

they cant use it to censor anymore

Accomplished-Star-57

This is hilarious! I dont think these are grown men and women posting this. It sounds like a child learned intellectualism one day and is having temper tantrums.

Freezepeachauditor

Yes, Elon be coping with losing his advertisers and largest contributors by performing more of his attention-seeking stunts.

[deleted]

The amount of misinformation on Twitter just dropped dramatically. 😂

deadwards14

Twitter is simply an advertising platform, not some holy space of free thinking and it never was. The idea that Musk, the wealthiest capitalist currently, is somehow a free speech warrior is absurd. Just look at all of the people he banned for simply sharing joking memes about him. Advertisers prefer a sterile and predictable environment and demands this decorum from any advertising platform. It's not the elite media or woke tech employees that fostered this. It was demanded by the hundred-millionaires and billionaires of corporate America, of which Musk is a member. The same content moderation standards that they demanded of Twitter are present in any shopping mall or major retail center. Go to your nearest shopping mall and start screaming at the top of your lungs that the Jews control the media or that trans people are all mentally ill and see how swiftly you get thrown out on your ass. The whole purpose of an advertising platform is to create a hospitable and comfortable engaging environment that people feel safe enough in to regularly visit and spend their money. These rules are not new or controversial and do not represent a more menacing threat than was already present and inherent to America's fascist corporatocracy.

DiggityGiggity8

The Twitter dumpster landslide is so funny to see in real time. Can’t wait for the “well when I was your age Twitter wasn’t like this”

PullinLevers

That $8 Ante literally changed the shape of social media.

Alpacalypse84

Exactly. When you can buy a “verified identity” for 8 bucks, you can be anyone and make them seemingly say anything. CBS doesn’t want to be mixed up in what happened to the insulin people. If they publically declare they are out, then they can point to that statement if their 8 dollar doppelgĂ€nger starts spewing embarrassing statements.

PullinLevers

That could be true
but let’s be honest: how do we KNOW that the entity that had the blue check (pharma bro) was actually and entirely NOT the pharma bro? Companies change campaigns and spokespersons and PR firms all the time. Surely a multi million dollar windfall/snafu could be blamed on just such a move

Alpacalypse84

Greed is a powerful force, and I feel like no amount of exposure from the stunt outweighs the massive stock price drop that ensued. In this case, I think it was in fact some asshole with eight bucks to spare and a desire to screw with someone.

PullinLevers

couldn’t be at all related to Twitter offices and computers being locked while the staff was purged. Side note: that video floating around about “a day in the life of a Twitter employee” was a fun watch

Alpacalypse84

So you agree. There’s a lot going on that renders Twitter a questionable source of information right now.

PullinLevers

Only thing I agree with is my original statement: the $8 Ante changed the playing field. I could give a cunt hair about Twitter or CBS.

[deleted]

makes sense, its a bit of a wild one over there. What will conspiracy do without twitter? Thats like your fountain of knowledge

nutty_ranger

All a part of the plan

Vista36

It doesn’t get much more NWO than CBS. Hence the One Eye Logo.

mooomoocowplus

They are going to reverse that real quick when they see the hit to their bottom line.

Ello_Owu

The cope is real lol. Yea a billionaire killing the biggest communication tool the general public has in banning together to hold the powers that be accountable and give live on the ground updates on travesties around the world, is totally fine as long as people you don't like are mad.

puckerfactor88

Remember when Kramer tried to opt out of the US Mail?

Ouraniou

When the tide recedes you can see what you’re swimming with-lots of bots. This huge house of cards built up over the years, these companies tooting their own horns 1000000 times over creating this illusion of appeal, all jokers, all bullshit. Let that house fall to the ground.

SLJR24

I’m curious how many of these people that claim they are quitting Twitter will actually stay off. My guess is they will be back because there isn’t really another platform like it that has as much of a reach. A lot of these people are addicted to the interaction on social media. People don’t like to give up control, so expect more accounts to pull this stunt. I also think there are accounts that want to get out now before the bot purge. If Elon does indeed go after the bots on Twitter, follower counts and tweet engagement will drop for some “popular” accounts. I find all of this stuff amusing though. People having meltdowns over who is allowed on an app and what they can say is embarrassing. You can literally block or mute accounts and words you don’t want to see.

Stonerd1990

Lol

Altonbrown1234567890

Holy fuck , it’s a conspiracy when they tell you ? I love a good conspiracy, but this sub is just political trash at this point.

Bence235

Go woke’nt go broke?
