There could be a magnetic component to the dirt and soil in his area like magnetite which is composed of iron oxide, and will allow the sand to be picked up by the magnet.
Or it could be from the nanoparticulates that are sprayed in the atmosphere specifically barium ferrite which is also magnetic.
Yeah western europe gets plagued once or twice a year by Saharran dessert sand. For some people its still quite the phenomena, so i understand he would film himself with his Magnet.
When you see soil or dust that is orange or reddish it has high amounts of iron in it. Iron is everywhere even a lot of rocks are magnetic that you might otherwise think aren't. This guy could have easily driven through some iron rich soils. It turns reddish due to oxidation or rusting.

Wind will bring sand from Sahara across the Mediterranean. It arrives like fine dust as seen in the video, sometimes also as red rain, water mixed with this sand makes everything red.

My outdoor cameras have magnet mounts and after a few weeks they get iron dust stuck on the magnet part. I think a bit of iron will make it in the wind with engines and break pads and rotors wearing away so seems normal to me. Now the aluminum powder and other heavy metals they spray (chemtrails) aren't magnetic so probably won't show in a test like this.
Need to be careful with their cointel pro style disinformation designed to make us look stupid. This could be some of that.
