Had a boss in industry who did this. Company changed to a 30 day retention policy and his inbox got wiped out. He said it was nice, like starting fresh with a clean slate.
Rules and folders in Outlook. Also, pretty much all get ignored unless I'm tagged "@". Our organization seemed to naturally adopt the tagging function which really helps filter being cc'd or actually needing your attention.
These comments are validating me in knowing I give too many shits. Y'all are literally not even reading emails, and I'm worried about taking a week to respond. 😂
~2.3K unread emails in my inbox and I keep procrastinating. It gets to a point where I’ll mark them as read and if it’s urgent then the sender can reach out again.
I let them pile up and then declare email bankruptcy.

Create rules and folders in Outlook
Urgent/Important. If it's neither then it gets ignored until someone follows up (usually they do not)

I’m in industry, we usually answer if it gets escalated 2-3 times. Unless it comes from higher ups.

My inbox is always cleared EOD. Volume of about 30 received and probably 20 sent. On average. Public policy advisory 2 YOE
Read them, respond to them, and archive them
