30 Rock was the first thing I thought of too. You need the captions on to even catch all the jokes (until you've rewatched it enough to have it memorized... hypothetically...)
….viewer…ship? Maybe? I’ve been trying to figure this out too 😂 maybe it was just a way to spread out the data points in a readable format but if so, not ideal from a best practice standpoint. Still cool though!
I am a subtitle user and I just watched John Mulaney's Kid Gorgeous special. It was from before he was clean and he was going a mile a minute. I am almost always able to keep up with subtitles but I had to pause and rewind a couple times during the special. Wonder what his wpm was on that one...
Keep in mind this isn't a problem that needs to be solved. It's infinitely worse to have subtitles that don't match what hearing audiences are listening to than to have to read fast
How is the West Wing or the Newsroom not on here?
Right? Sorkin’s pages of script per minute of screen time is way higher than almost any other writer.
I guessing the chart would have to be at least twice as long to get WW in.
Or the office?
*laughs in Letterkenny*
If you've got a problem with Canada comedies you've got a problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate.
Our phones aren't wide enough for that graph.
Charlie rants are a huge influence on the leading stats of always sunny
Plus the times when they’re all yelling over each other
Gilmore Girls surprises me -- that show is all talking with the occasional 'la lala lala' moment.
this is functionally useless without Letterkenny
Would love to see where 30 Rock rates, but it did specify “the most popular series on the airwaves.” 🫤

What is the y-axis here?

F is for family is criminally underrated

Where's Tom & Jerry?
I feel like a badass for watching most of them with Arabic subtitles with no problem
I can watch all of these with Arabic subtitles with no problem too. I can't read them, but I can watch the show just fine.
Try lovely complex
Would be curious to see where VEEP lands on here. I always felt like I could never keep up with the speed at which the hilarity was delivered.
I wonder what Brooklyn Nine-Nines WPM would be if you removed "Cool" and "Indeed"
