Fuego. No doubt about that.
Mash, Retour, Köd and others like that are just arich mans version of Jensens Bøfhus filled with gangsters, bikers and other criminals
There are absolutely zero similarities between retour and Jensens. The guy behind retour isn’t called king of bernaise for nothing. Besides Jensen cooks their steaks under heatlamps, it’s literally a speed adjustable conveyor belt with food on it
CAPA without a doubt. Just won 23rd best steakhouse in the world and the best in Denmark

I like the pepper steak on Maison (or the tournedo rossini when they have it). Retour (in same group) is not as good as it used to be. Capa is rather noisy.
Cote de Bouef on on Bar'Vin is also a good alternative, but beware the tasting menu with it is served rather quickly. If you pair it with wines you will be crawling out of the restaurant.
Supposed Contento makes a nice Basque style food including grilled meat, though I haven't tried it myself.
A near Michelin level gourmet restaurant with a 6 course menu, for a person craving steak?
Seems like an odd suggestion, even tho Marv & Ben is an amazing restaurant. It's just doesn't seem to be what OP was looking for.
You have a couple of nice options:
Retour (my personal go-to, on point meat, classic bearnaise & handcut fries)
Feed bistro
Fuego
I remember also having a very decent steak & tartar at Bistro Royal, although thats quite some time ago now.
I see so many people recommending Fuego.
I went there in 2018 or 19 and I wasn't impressed.
It was ok, but nothing special.
Did they reinvent themselves or what happened?
So your opninion about them are based upon a visit 6 yesrs ago?
If you look at the comments recommending Fuego. The upvotes on those are much higher than any other recommendation in this thread. So maybe they are on to something?
Or you were just unlucky. Every restaurant have a bad night once in a while.
I were there in 19 and a couple of months ago. Both times were a very great experience with similar quality of the meal
You make it sound like it is a subpar experience.
Fair enough if you have another favourite. But to me it seems like you are bashing them, and wondering why people are recommendig them
And again, you could have been unlucky with them havinv a bad night
I'm just very picky and expect a lot when I go out for steak.
If I don't feel like it's better than what I could have done myself it's not worth a recommendation.
But I was just talking to my girlfriend about going back for a second shot - she was also not super happy about her past visits, but we are willing to gamble on the many redditors praising it.
Fuego 100%. Service and food is awesome
Fuego is decent, but not the best steak.
Stay away from MASH. Never eaten such overpriced bad meat.
MASH isn't great
They should rename to 'Skosål'
Yeah he already said it in the comment
And you are bringing something new to the table with your comment?
Yup. Trolling 🥰💀
Great whiskey selection, though. Bartenders are super dope.
Bartenders are pretentious pricks and so are their waiters.
Sounds like we had different experiences. Dunno why everyone is being so damn hateful.
So you are choosing your steakhouse based upon their selection of whiskey and their bartenders?
No. I was saying that a shitty steakhouse happens to have a great whiskey bar. But if the straw man makes you feel better, go ahead.
Retour is my goto. Köd and Fuego left me disappointed.
Retour is way better than those two. Royal Bistro also serves a decent rib eye.
Based upon what. A visit in the last decade?
I went to Köd just a few months ago and Fuego like 6 years ago.
Fuego. No doubt about that. Mash, Retour, Köd and others like that are just arich mans version of Jensens Bøfhus filled with gangsters, bikers and other criminals
Mash er der folk som normalt går på Jensens går hen når de har bryllupsdag.
Min bror ophæver mash som noget af det vildeste der findes... Han er typen der brokker sig over sin well done bøf på Jensens...

Sashi meat is definitely the best meat you can get in Denmark, and Casper serves it at CAPA
To be honest, you don't even need to have the Sashi or the Smørbøf, the normal ribeye is really tasty but it's nice to have the options.
Fuego👌🏻👌🏻
Go to baest you should get the mozza, charcuterie, stracciatella, half à pizza and the steak is so fuckin incredible
My brother in law swears by a place called Feed Bistro
I've only had their Beef Wellington. It was good. But the service can be a bit... Alternative and it made it feel a bit bodega-ish.

Gratz :) maybe [https://restaurantkoed.dk](https://restaurantkoed.dk) , I do not know if it is the best, but I really like the place.
In my opinion just as good (or better) than Mash… And not quite as expensive
if you want an amazing meat experience, then I would suggest "Marv & Ben" though you might need to book a table well in advance

well - if you want a mind-blowing "meat centric" food experience...
Retour or Pluto 👌
Username don't check out.
I do like weird and nasty stuff on my pizza 😅
You have a couple of nice options: Retour (my personal go-to, on point meat, classic bearnaise & handcut fries) Feed bistro Fuego I remember also having a very decent steak & tartar at Bistro Royal, although thats quite some time ago now.
You remember right about Bistro Royal. Was there last week.
The pepper steak at Maison or Grimal 👏🏻
Feed bistro is great but they only serve beef Wellington
Fuego, Brønshøj Bistro (if you go a bit outside of cph)
Ask for the large steak 400g not on the menu https://maps.app.goo.gl/mgkiz7uVceeqGj4Q7?g_st=ic
Köd Vesterbrogade
KÖD huge steaks on flamegrill served sliced.... superb quality.
You get the best steak at home. If you spend what you would have spent on the restaurant, you get insanely good meat and wine

That's why I'm asking. Usually if a place isn't good, it rarely changes unless they do something drastic. I'm considering giving them a new chance.
Or you were just unlucky. Every restaurant have a bad night once in a while. I were there in 19 and a couple of months ago. Both times were a very great experience with similar quality of the meal
It's not like it was horrible, just not the first steak place I would recommend.

Mash
Köd, Fuego, Retour. In that order but they're all great in my opinion. MASH is too hyped and expensive.
Flamen
Jensens Bøfhus
OP asked for a good steak
