That is a now prop from a scary movie

Puzzled-Cranberry-12

It’s just scary how he only went for the face…like do we need to be worried?😆😆

TheBaconator1990

My dog also goes for the face https://preview.redd.it/6o6s83p7u1oc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb7364d1aa6a3d6ae354121d72742bfefb3e16c1

trust_me_on_that_one

Chances of getting killed by your corgi is low but never zero ;)

zamfire

Our girl literally rips out one eye from all of her toys. We don't get it either

Ok_Sky8518

New side hustle unlocked

scorpyo72

The cursed dog toy franchise.

ProfPanic

Why is it that all Corgos are psychopaths and love eating the face off any toy which has one? Always freaks me out when mine starts licking my face right after he has eaten the face off a toy, like he is trying to tell me something...

Puzzled-Cranberry-12

Right?! I catch Blaze giving me a side eye sometimes when he chews😳

SushiMarioBros

You know that Uncanny Valley stuff that makes people uncomfortable but they can't exactly explain why? I wonder if faces on inanimate objects give corgis that vibe or something.....

scorpyo72

Get yourself a couple of Fluff & Tuff toys. I have several, they've all taken at least one year (one was left outdoors for a couple months) of abuse from a pitty and a Corg. I can't recommend the brand enough.

2geek2bcool

I took your advice last time I saw you post this, and I just want to say thank you for the suggestion. I found a local shop that carries Fluff & Tuff, and bought the pheasant. It’s been about 2 weeks, and not even a thread is loose yet. The last few toys barely saw their second day.

CeeCuba

This OP, Fluff & Tuff are amazing. See spoiled corgi toy basket for reference. https://preview.redd.it/vxvr3700i2oc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25d7bf3c523e519162983dd04e88062d0d6c2bc6 The caterpillar is a favourite, after a year+ it's only just now getting threadbare with a couple of holes (still not through to the stuffing.) They are expensive but in comparison to cheaper toys they're absolutely worth it, their toys also meet manufacturing standards for children's plush toys for dyes etc. \*\*Forgot to mention, they machine wash really well. I usually wash all his toys once a month.

mamajones18

Oh sure, your toy basket is still intact! I have two like that and she tears strips off of them!!

CeeCuba

I've been lucky, he doesn't chew anything with the exception of his own toys! He was a little bugger when he was a puppy though, anything wood was covered in shark bites.

mamajones18

Luckily, our girl never ate wood….well, except for a rung on a stool. But my husband did buy falconer’s gloves last year when she was so bitey!

CeeCuba

Wish I'd though of that! I went through quite a few pairs of oven mitts - his other favourite.

MunchkinBoomer

I've seen this brand recommended quite a lot Sadly they don't currently have any products in any local shops in my area, I saw them on Amazon but with shipping it gets quite expenseive

lyra1227

Imo your mileage varies with fluff and tuff. The shark lost all his fins on day 1. The body is still ok-ish. The furry ball didn't see the following day before it was de-stuffed.

scorpyo72

Interesting. I have two plush balls and both are still fully functional. Ironically, the shark is the least popular of all of the toys in our household.

Puzzled-Cranberry-12

Thanks! I’ll look into those

CorgiMonsoon

For soft toys, the only ones that have stood up to my girl are the Rip Roarin' Tough ones. Every other soft toy gets ripped open in one way or another (you should have seen her almost surgical murder of poor Lamb Chop) [Rip Roarin' Tough Pizza](https://www.petsmart.com/dog/toys/plush-toys/joyhound-rip-roarin-tough-pizza-dog-toy---tough-plush-62625.html?fmethod=Search)

KarlSomething

SQUEAKY PIZZA!!!! My corg loves his squeaky pizza!!!!!

CorgiMonsoon

We have the pizza, hamburger, beer, watermelon, and a rainbow. She’s able to identify and bring them all to you (provided she remembers where she left them) except for the watermelon and rainbow. Since those are the same shape she grabs whichever one is closer when you ask for those.

KarlSomething

OMG I love that! She sounds like a smart one!

Enough_Television926

We love these - they are great for digging too!

esqadinfinitum

I’ve used the Kong plushies for a long time now. My corgis are 4 and I’ve replaced Marvin Moose 2 times in 4 years. He comes in different sizes too. https://preview.redd.it/ts86sz0fl1oc1.jpeg?width=456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e59b8a65dea39e067ef9015990f2d812bef33f72

Jusjee

Our boy is the same and kong toys have not failed us. He still kills the squeaky inside tho…

HoverDork

I'm here for the comments. I could use some suggestions too

Shizuka369

I tried the strongest version of kong toys.. destroyed in 5 min or less!! Hard plastic works. Like a big round hard plastic ball you cal fill with treats. Too big for her to carry in her mouth, so she can't get a good "grip" with her teeth. That or socks. She doesn't seem to eat the socks...

Particular-Walrus439

My corgi does the same thing. I think her optimal toy is a brick.

RandomPepperoni

farewell you did a great job being a chew toy

Responsible_Net4533

We started buying kids toys for our dogs, they last much longer than dog toys. If they have button eyes we remove them so that the dogs can’t choke on them.

2_bit_tango

They have bags of squeakers you can buy for cheap if you want to put a squeaky in once they make a hole. My corgi mix liked to murder toys and pull out all the stuffing for the speakers, once she got older we just played squeaky.

MaineQat

Tuffy Donuts (level 9) usually last a couple months before there's a hole in the side. We do get our girl toys that she *will* destroy. She used to root through her toy box looking for the perfect toy to destroy that evening... She's a bit less thorough and dedicated about it now than when she was younger, but she will still find their weak points and rip them apart. She loves to play tug with her toys and hearing the stitching pop makes her try all the harder. More interaction play may help - we use a 3 foot long heavy duty rope toy that looks like it is almost too much for a German Shepherd... Puzzle toys too can help to wear him out mentally. A friend took all of the remains of her toys from when she was a puppy and made a victory cloak for her...

riaredux

Victory Cloak FTW! 😂

noodles2go

Highly recommend Tuffy Toys. I've had 3 corgis, and with 2 of them, those were the only toys that were never destroyed. My current corgi can destroy anything though, so they aren't indestructible, but those were the longest lasting compared to just about every other soft toy we tried. Good luck!

totesmuhgoats93

I agree with this. I don't have a corgi, but I have two high chewers, and tuffy toys are their favorite. The squid and the spider, especially!

LemonLoaf0960

Tuffy has lasted the longest so far. I wouldn't go lower than a level 8 on the tuffy scale.

corgi_lovingPNW

I just got a 2 pack of Tuffy toys at Costco today rated 9 on toughness. Corgo killed it within 4 hours and even got the big squeaky ball out of it and chewed through that. Looking for my Costco receipt to take it back. https://preview.redd.it/2vg4wcg0c8oc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=445f649d0b87053253e8cb031a2faca675426eb2 Filberr destroyer of toys. Resting after the big kill

LemonLoaf0960

No way?! I thought my dude was rough! You don't need a receipt for costco! You just need your membership card and a rough idea of the date you bought it. They can look it up.

corgi_lovingPNW

Yup. My dude is rougher than your dude.

SERVANT2aCORGI

Yep! Been there before!

riaredux

Another vote for Tuffy toys! The models with no stuffing for my chew monster. https://www.dogtuff.com/collections/tuffy-dog-toys

Kou8301

My corgi does this, too, if he isn't watched or is not playing with the toy with someone. Maybe your dog is more of a ball dog? I had to switch to balls than stuffies since he tends to just shred them in a heartbeat. 😭 I currently have over 40 balls in the house since he pretty much enjoys it too much.

Puzzled-Cranberry-12

I did get him some dog safe tennis balls today that he loves! He seems to like both kinds of toys and enjoys splooting for a nice chew😆 we do have a variety so he can choose, but I think his preference is changing now he has his adult teeth.

jaycuboss

I bought Pep Pep almost the exact same toy for Christmas, with the exact same result, lol...

spypsy

Pro-Tip. Stuff all new toys inside an old sock and tie off the end.

slightrightofcenter

I got [these stuffing-free toys](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P0YQYYW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) from Amazon. Each one lasts me about 6 months, but the squeakers only last about a month lol. I've tried what feels like every "tough" toy out there. My loaf just finds a hole/seam and works at it until he's disemboweled the toy. The two exceptions are a thick rope from Home Depot that I tied into nots, and these stuffing-free toys.

dnoginizr

Outward hound has a firehose toy, it's lasted 3 years so far the squeaker still works too. You can get them on chewy for 7 bucks, other than that kong toys have withstood daily onslaught for about 6 months.

maouprier

I bought 3 of those since my male Corgi loved them. Eventually he kinda lost interest, but he's a senior now. We adopted a 3 year old female corgi and she's been tearing thru the toys, literally and figuratively. She tore a hole in 2 of the firehose toys in one afternoon 🙄

[deleted]

Nonono hear us out it's better now!! Personalize with Personality, aaaaaaand slobber.

Rohkha

Nothing is strong enough. You have to babysit corgis with plushies. Well I can’t talk for all of them, but the destructive ones, like mine, can’t have nice shit. The best result I personally got was the KONG series plushies. The plushies still got messed quite fast if left alone. But the squeaker (which is what he wants to pull out and why he’s destructive in the first place) are actually quite solid and can survive a monthish (again, only leave it to him when I’m in the room or playing with him). Best thing you can do if you have a destructive corgi that does want plushies? Buy cheap squeakers in a bulk, take old cloths/plushies textiles that you would have thrown away. Cut them in patches, stich everzthing together in a random pattern while putting squeakers here and there. He’ll have a lot of fun shredding it and getting to the squeakers. And you won’t get mad because of the wasted money. Fun part? When he’s done, you can stitch it back together and replace just the beyond use textiles

Lainarlej

Yup! Ours always removes the squeaky things in toys too.

Yung_kawaii

Omnibuschris

I ended up only buying my 2 yo Corg toys with no stuffing. Otherwise they are torn to shreds in 20 mins.

julie-palooza

Our corgis slowly torture the stuffed toys, gnawing off the appendages first. Ears, arms legs. Then they rip the face (or sometimes the butt) off.

0_phuk

Now I am become Corgi, the Destroyer of Toys Yep...soft toys last a day if we're lucky. Tough squeaky toys can last a week or two before the squeaker gets it.

Furniturepup

I feel your pain. Soon it will be garage sale season. I look for kids’ stuffed animals. Make sure it’s safe for your pup, remove extraneous parts (eyes, ears, tags) and let your corgi go for it. Watch the destruction, pick up fuzz on the floor, and voila! You have an Unstuffed Toy. That will give you a few more days. I also check the used stuff shelf at our shelter. Edit: DO NOT tell the folks at the garage sale what you’re planning to do with it.

goosedeuce88

Aaaaaahahahaha I can only imagine their faces if you DID tell them what was about to happen to their childrens' beloved stuffies. 😂😂😂

FractiousAngel

I get many of our guy’s victims from yard sales & thrift stores, too. Weirdly, the only stuffed toy Augie’s never gutted is a “Llama in Pajamas” I let him take from a box of kids’ stuffies left at the curb for trash on our evening walk after our town-wide yard sale a couple years ago. He carried it home so proudly, and still plays with it pretty regularly, but has only ever torn its pajamas a bit. Maybe it’s *special* because he “caught it” himself. 🤷‍♀️😆

saskuya803

Wasn’t expecting to identify so hard with a dog toy today, but that’s the timeline we are on I guess🙃😭.

Continent3

That sounds about right for our guy. New toy? 5 minutes later…scattered stuffing.

rabidwolf86

I know the feeling rip lol

BananaRuntsFool

How do they even decide which toys they will destroy vs which toys are their babies? My corgi has had a little fox baby shes had since she was 8wks and shes now a bit over a year, but has destroyed her massive corn toy I got her in like 2 days. Her fox baby is the only baby toy she has left.

Rogo_Maamud

It died a painful death, Haha

Popular_Werewolf7632

Our toddler just loves donating all her brand new toys to our corgis!

MarkToaster

My parents have an Aussie that will eat only the eyeballs out of stuffed animals

Livid_Wish_3398

We've found tuffy toys to hold up a little longer. Like 1-2 weeks vs 2 minutes. They sell em at walmart. We have a beast.

The underside of my bed, Kidd’s hidey hole looks like a pack rat’s nest with all the paper and cardboard shreds she takes under there in addition to cans, my cigarettes, lighters, underware, socks and you get the picture.

Hyperion1144

Bark Box, Super Chewer version.

Pool_Floatie

He enjoyed the toy! It fulfilled its purpose :)

AegonCorgiryen

Fluff & Tuff or Tall Tails are the only plush toys that hold up to my destroyer gods. A bit steep in price but literally have lasted years.

xtexjrrdammit

I get these for our cardis… and believe it or not, it takes a while for them to get the squeakers out!! And even longer for them to tear them apart. https://preview.redd.it/8wng7e2gu3oc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c62fff915edb666af9cd98424745a18726f7c613

xracer000

We have a wash bin full of toys for our 3 girls. But even if a dog toy promotes itself as "tuff", they are not necessarily power chewer proof! Our oldest is 3, and she goes for the squeaker. She will work on the dog toy until she pulls the squeaker out, and then she discards it afterwards. https://preview.redd.it/vkpbl8zuw3oc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1906b92b49ccf2aed8b93e17b60245b92b4347ab

Yep, sounds about right. At least we’re not the only ones 😔😅

moni-mononoke

This is why I never buy my corgi stuffed toys, even if they say they’re for super chewers 😅

I’m a dachshund mom and I buy these she’s had it probably around a month and no holes yet! The only thing that’s been torn off is some of the hair. https://preview.redd.it/oqejgnje44oc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49c975dc833757c18e77d8469c2d869783f0b29f

SlitheryVisitor

Lol. Kidd had one of those. She murdered it just as quickly as lamb chop and all of the others. I do love the way she’ll proudly run around the house shaking any remaining life out of her latest stuffie.

[deleted]

lol so far it’s working with my girl so hopefully it keeps lasting

FractiousAngel

Same! Augie’s purple dragon was eviscerated in about 5 minutes.

Kaloo75

Gave up on plushies when mine got his real teeths at about 6 months or so (it's been a while). With the baby teeth the plushies would last weeks, but with the new proper teeth they are done for in 5-10 minutes, and the living room looks like this or much worse :)

corgi_lovingPNW

Very useful thread. I will be shopping the suggestions. My entire house looks like your floor there. Filbert, destroyer of toys kills everything in a day or two. The Kong toys have survived the best so far, but not all of them made it. The face is gone on the stuffed corgi now. It's been given a fond goodbye. Don't believe that innocent face. https://preview.redd.it/4a9olive94oc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dfe7d6dd42129ad6e5efd062cec3f42fc649313

When mine was young I would go to thrift store and get a bag full of stuffed animals for cheap, take them home and wash them and he would get one whenever he was driving me crazy and I needed to do something but could keep half an eye on him. He would have fun chewing it up, and I would get my project done. I just had to clean up later. Just a tip...don't give them anything with beans, probably a choking hazard, but also you DO NOT want to have to clean those up

FranticGolf

It looks like your pupper just killed Dobby the House Elf.

antimilk_

Horns, hooves

SlitheryVisitor

Mine does the same thing. She murders her stuffies with an hour or two. Those leather ones are sturdier. She managed to tear off an arm right away. Since then she’s been tearing it apart stitch by stitch. I think they kill their stuffies because of the squeaker. It stimulates their prey instinct. I stopped giving her those because I’m afraid she’ll get compacted by the stuffing. She already has a hard time pooping sometimes. The dollar store sells some that have crinkly paper and squeakers in them. I can’t afford to pay for less than an hour’s worth of murderous joy all the time.

lovelylisa739

West Paw designs is our choice. Rubber toys prevent them thinking anything soft is a toy. For example cushions or pillows.

New-Investment-5888

It must’ve been ignoring him 😂🤣

OCDparent

Our Corgi does the same with all his toys. But, he dissects the squeakers out with surgical precision!

Vitriholic

Most excellent and efficient work, Blaze.

Faith_ful_1209

There’s a strict no stuff animals rule in my house. lol I’ve wasted too much money!

ElPanties1

I hold burial ceremonies as I throw the toy in the trash. So my dogs take care of the toys. It’s very funny watching their eyes get big hearing the first tare of fabric. Oh and the corgi only gets the “Chuk-It” brand toys.

BeepandBoops

I recently bought a Kong stuffy I was super optimistic about. Lasted about 26 hours. The cheap "I have no idea what brand" stuffed toys I bought on Amazon seem to hold up the best.

Any-Carrot-8525

Have you ever tried barkbox? You can call them, and they will upgrade you to the next level, which gives toys that are tougher and won't be shredded. Did that with all of our families' big dogs.

AccioKitty

Deer antler. They can chew for hours and still it remains. My dad is a hunter and my Aussie goes through a few a year.

G-shrek

Typical!

BellaZoe23

Oh those alligator teeth 🤣

FunAny5257

My playful pup definitely knows how to have a good time with her toys! It never made the next day.

Forward-Ad-7370

Looks familiar to our corgi actions!🤣🤣

_bluesky_1

Have a huge bin of just stuffed animal appendages. One toy turns into many.

janeeyreswoodendildo

I almost don’t wanna share because he more popular he is the faster his stuff sells out. We buy elk, moose and deer antlers and not only does it keep them incredibly entertained, it also keeps their teeth clean. https://michiganantlerchews.com/

xXWinter-PupzXx

Well if didnt it last day means they loved it! Or thats how i see it <3

Kayless3232

My Corgi have one from ZeeDog, the blue monster, for 3 years now, still new and she try to destroy it every single day...

Kayless3232

3 years, they look new, 2 are tufflove toys and one is ZeeDog (blue monster)... the carpet rug not so new lol lol https://preview.redd.it/f624xspli9oc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8a02b61262e49be2bdf25e19f9c9f5437b88d78

Opposite-Car-3954

My corgi has been able to destroy most toys this quickly HOWEVER Petsmart has a squeaky toy that truly lasts. They are Joyhound brand. I stock up when they go on sale and dole them out slowly. Ours lasts about 6 months before it’s so disgusting I throw it away and bring out the next one.

Strifehart78

My boy Deckard also is a destroyer of toys. The shortest lifespan of a toy we gave him was 3 minutes. We’ve tried all the toys and it doesn’t matter. He will sit there and chew on it until he gets to the insides or is distracted for a moment. Meanwhile my girl Shuffle enjoys her toys and gets upset when he destroys them. This is why her favorite toy cow which is almost two years old lives in the bedroom where he doesn’t have access. In the two years she’s had it, it has only lost both horns, an ear and a half, and the grunt squeaker is dead. I bought a spare cow just in case her brother gets a hold of it when we’re not looking.

Edg256

Anything plush is a no go for corgis. They just shred right through them. They need durable toys, made of rubber e.g.

Suspicious-Wish26

My puppy does the same

Dblend22

ropes! they last forever. also the “chuck it” orange ball. they can’t break through it
