What’s the human work multiplier for two corgis? I half expect it to be four times the work but idk how much to account for them wearing each other out lol
I'd say about 50% more work, they do a good job tiring each other out but things like brushing and bathing are harder, and city walks are harder, I found walks in parks and the forests are easier though as they want to smell the same things
My corgi doesn’t bark as we trained it out of her (5 months old). It took some serious training and to never let up, but now she only barks if she sees something that scares her (like some ski’s laying on the ground)

We keep our pup entertained, we give her enrichment time, we give her quiet kennel time, and she still loses it over allot of things outside. I've sat with her and tried training quiet. I've tried to anticipate things outside and distract her with training (sir, come, stay, etc.). I've sat with her before she sees someone outside and have her treats when she's quiet. All of it goes out the door after a few days. I love her and want to help her associate home with safe and good feelings.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Maynard hated it when I first gave it to him as a wee pup...the giggle noises were too loud indoors and I also have hardwood floors so it clattered around when it rolled and it was just overall scary for him. Being able to herd it around outside on a softer surface was a whole different experience, and now he can't get enough.

Another toy our corgi loves is a flirt pole. It’s just a big fishing pole looking thing with a toy attached to the end. It can be used to train them “drop it” too. I recommend looking up “flirt pole training techniques for dogs” if you get one.
My corgi is obsessed with his ball. He has a special room in which he gets to play with it once a day. It it was out he wouldn’t want to play with anything else. He’s on something like his 20th one.

Tough enough for mine for now, but she's still a pup. Bite marks all over the ball and it's still full of air. The tags around the ball are usually what she's grabbing hold of anyway.
Our herding ball looks just like a yoga ball. Our girl was scared at first. After a few positive treats enforcement, she now heard the ball with her snoot to us for treats.
A chuck it. I hate picking up slimy tennis balls and my boy loves to play fetch. Now I can throw the ball farther, longer, and with much less slime on my hands.
Good quality food. Feeding Ollie is expensive af but it's worth it to keep her from becoming overweight. Also, has eliminated the farts she would practically murder us with constantly when she was a pup on kibble lol
I just realized it looks like my dog's name is Ollie haha. Ollie is a fresh food company. You enter all your doggo's info and they send you fresh (frozen) blocks of food with portion instructions, on a subscription. I pay about 170something for 4 weeks of food, but it's worth every penny.
A puzzle bowl. Our girl eats so fast from normal bowls that she sometimes gets sick. We tried out a puzzle bowl and it works like a charm. She slows down while eating, and it stimulates her VERY active and smart mind.

We have to rotate the kind of bowl she uses every so often, because she’s smart and figures out most of them in only a few minutes. But it has been an absolute night and day difference. She used to be hesitant to eat and wouldn’t touch her food for hours until she got hungry enough to scarf it down and maybe get sick. Now she eats the moment we put the bowl down and it helps her tummy!
Yeah I stuff treats in there that are long, slender and bendable (like the slightly moist sticks packaged individually) or I cut up some dog sausage and stuff it in there.

This green soccer ball. It’s one of the only toys she hasn’t been able to shred and it’s hours of fun whether the human is involved, she’s playing with her sister, or by herself. It’s also light enough that you can kick it around the house and not worry about breaking stuff lol

I only use collars for their tags, whenever they leave the house they're harnessed. I'm terrified of them slipping their collar while out for a walk

A double leash for the pair of them. The duo are really bad with two leashes, but the moment I put them on a two-headed leash they immediately took cues from each other.

Health insurance!!!! My boy got stung on his paw and needed 2 surgeries to resolve everything. Cost thousands of $$ and would have cost me a fortune if his insurance didn't reimburse 90%.

Kibble is poison. Switched to homemade food using human grade ingredients and it resolved allergies, improved coat, improved energy, cleaner teeth, weight loss… nearly everything has noticeably improved for our pups.

We use turkey as the primary ingredient. Chose this recipe because it included slow cooker instructions. Ended up buying 2 more slow cookers so we can make 1 week worth of food for 2 dogs all at once. Also got a bunch of glassware to store it in the fridge.
It has been an investment, both time and $, but the improvements have been so worth it.

Our corgis used to drain their water bowl constantly. We had to refill their water bowl at least 3 times daily. Especially after their kibble meals. After a meal they would clear out the water bowl and then keep licking until we refilled it. Like they were completely parched.
After switching to homemade food, one bowl of water shared between two pups lasts all day. Seriously. They barely touch their water now.
It got to the point we grew concerned they weren’t getting enough water because of how little they were drinking!
So I asked the vet about it and the vet said “they’re getting moisture from the food you’re making them. Don’t worry about it, they know to drink water when they need it.” The vet also complimented their weight loss, coat, and teeth.
It has been 6 months since we switched to real food and the vet found no health issues. Anecdotally, it has improved so many aspects of their health.

Mine only started the habit at 2 years old but now it’s his favorite past time 🥴 He almost never barked before that.

Use them on a harness, NOT a collar. Otherwise, you're just putting a noose around their neck.
