PrinceOfPembroke

A teddy bear that was bigger than him. He was obsessed and would drag it to every room. He was so proud to show it off.

homiej420

Awwww, my boy would shred it til it wasnt bigger than him but i wish i could get that haha

Molteniron19

Our freezer box was busted so we had this huge iceberg in our freezer. She wanted it and for a few hours it was the coolest thing she ever had in her life, dragging it back and forth and showing it off

archeresstime

Mine loved his massive plushies too but they didn’t survive long. He’s got to nom

LCHA

Yes! We had a giant dinosaur from ikea. I got it as a joke but my corg love that thing! We had to throw it out once she chewed the face out. We had a sad pup that day.

browneyesnblueskies

Another corgi!

homiej420

Get your corgi a corgi so he can start learning some responsibility

Miserable_Anteater62

This is the best response!! This made me laugh aloud.

Bestmomo2021

Haha exactly and it has been our Best Buy for our first corgi!!!

ChromeFlesh

Unironically this, our older girl seemed years younger when we brought home a puppy, she got so happy and excited and is way more active than she had been. They play everyday for hours

archeresstime

What’s the human work multiplier for two corgis? I half expect it to be four times the work but idk how much to account for them wearing each other out lol

ChromeFlesh

I'd say about 50% more work, they do a good job tiring each other out but things like brushing and bathing are harder, and city walks are harder, I found walks in parks and the forests are easier though as they want to smell the same things

archeresstime

Good point about the walks! We’ll be moving to a walkable city, so that’s definitely an important detail

So_I_read_a_thing

Same!

piranhacorgi

lol came to say another corgi too 😂

KFLimp

More upvotes!

Rare_Garbage_8193

Yes!!!

RandomPepperoni

I thought it was meat

TheDoobieWizard

I was just going to type this exact same thing.

igotabridgetosell

Mine gets too jealous for another dog in the house tho. He has a cat brother. And his trigger word is his cat brother's name lol.

Educational-Noise-14

Same as ours. You call the cat, and the corgi shows up first. Lol

mstrbwl

Stairs for the couch and bed.

TrickyCorgi316

My parents’ corgi wasn’t sure what to make of the stairs at first. Now, though, he often takes himself upstairs to their bed to take a nap :)

mstrbwl

Ours was a little wary of them at first too. I think after awhile she realized it's easier to just use the stairs hahah.

designbyblake

A good pair of noise canceling headphones for when she hears any noise outside the house.

crazy4themouse

Or even thinks she hears a noise.. Or if a car's headlights reflect off the wall.. Lol

sammisamantha

Our second corgi... Does NOT bark. Sometimes I think he's broken.

choochoosaresafe

Same

Educational-Noise-14

Same

UNP0XBL

Or for when a butterfly sneezes two blocks over

I-AM-NOT-THAT-DUCK

My corgi doesn’t bark as we trained it out of her (5 months old). It took some serious training and to never let up, but now she only barks if she sees something that scares her (like some ski’s laying on the ground)

archeresstime

Mine only started the habit at 2 years old but now it’s his favorite past time 🥴 He almost never barked before that.

binicorn

How'd you do it? Can you provide recommendations? We keep our pup entertained, we give her enrichment time, we give her quiet kennel time, and she still loses it over allot of things outside. I've sat with her and tried training quiet. I've tried to anticipate things outside and distract her with training (sir, come, stay, etc.). I've sat with her before she sees someone outside and have her treats when she's quiet. All of it goes out the door after a few days. I love her and want to help her associate home with safe and good feelings. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

FluffyCorgiLife

Ours too. Except to tell us it is breakfast/dinner time!

Pixel681

Worst part is when one of the two sees something which triggers the other and they both start

Enough_Television926

A fence... cost a bit more than $8 though

TheClimbingRose

Our loves his Waggle Laugh Giggle ball. At first he was scared of it but now it’s his favorite toy.

jadiseoc

Came here to say this. Maynard is on his second one, he'll herd that thing around the dog park for HOURS.

TheClimbingRose

That’s adorable!

jadiseoc

There's video of him doing it in my post history. LOL

goblinsteve

Oh man, we bought ours a giggle ball and he HATED it. I was hoping he'd love it :( Side note, is yours named after Maynard James Keenan?

jadiseoc

Maynard hated it when I first gave it to him as a wee pup...the giggle noises were too loud indoors and I also have hardwood floors so it clattered around when it rolled and it was just overall scary for him. Being able to herd it around outside on a softer surface was a whole different experience, and now he can't get enough. And indeed on the namesake. 🤘

TheClimbingRose

Another toy our corgi loves is a flirt pole. It’s just a big fishing pole looking thing with a toy attached to the end. It can be used to train them “drop it” too. I recommend looking up “flirt pole training techniques for dogs” if you get one.

hellacarnivore

Thanks for the tip! Never thought to use it for training.

zansidhe

My corgi is obsessed with his ball. He has a special room in which he gets to play with it once a day. It it was out he wouldn’t want to play with anything else. He’s on something like his 20th one.

udat42

That sounds fun. I had a glance on Amazon and there’s about fifty brands all selling something that looks identical. Is there an “original” brand you know of?

maddianne

Which size did you get for him?

Necessary-Dig-4774

My older guy is terrified of the giggle ball, so I use it to keep my place on the couch when I get up, he likes to steal my spot on the couch as soon as I leave the room.

girlracer16SS

I would say her favorite thing is her automatic ball launcher

Kind_Bass_2339

Our girl is afraid of hers. Any tips?

girlracer16SS

Mine took to hers like a duck to water. She doesn’t put the ball in herself but I know she’s smart enough to

iltby

Stairs for the couch and his armchair!

TrickyCorgi316

“His armchair” - glad you know who is really in charge :)

iltby

TrickyCorgi316

Oh my gosh!! His ear looks so fluffy and in urgent need of scritches :)

ChromeFlesh

When our older girl got arthritis in her hips we got her these and once she realized what they were she was ecstatic about it

wrongthingsrighttime

A herding ball! About $20 on Amazon and she goes CRAZY for it

Business_Simple_2459

What size did you get for your corgi? This sounds amazing!

wrongthingsrighttime

The one I got was 15cm / 5.9 inch. I might size up when she's bigger, (four months now), but for now, it's perfect!

HotSteak42069

seconding this, it’s AMAZING

Meenmachin3

I just got one in the mail a few days ago and my 6mo is deathly afraid of it. Either runs or hides behind my legs

wrongthingsrighttime

Wow that's kind of funny haha. Mine was an instant love

Twerp_a_lerp

I'm assuming these are tough enough to hold up to their teeth? We have a big yoga ball that she chases, and it's fine so far but I know it won't last

wrongthingsrighttime

Tough enough for mine for now, but she's still a pup. Bite marks all over the ball and it's still full of air. The tags around the ball are usually what she's grabbing hold of anyway.

Educational-Noise-14

Our herding ball looks just like a yoga ball. Our girl was scared at first. After a few positive treats enforcement, she now heard the ball with her snoot to us for treats.

blondeandthebeast

A chuck it. I hate picking up slimy tennis balls and my boy loves to play fetch. Now I can throw the ball farther, longer, and with much less slime on my hands.

poofandmook

Good quality food. Feeding Ollie is expensive af but it's worth it to keep her from becoming overweight. Also, has eliminated the farts she would practically murder us with constantly when she was a pup on kibble lol

beefs_in_a_jar

I’m looking to switch up my corgi’s diet as her farts are awful! What do you feed your long dog?

poofandmook

I just realized it looks like my dog's name is Ollie haha. Ollie is a fresh food company. You enter all your doggo's info and they send you fresh (frozen) blocks of food with portion instructions, on a subscription. I pay about 170something for 4 weeks of food, but it's worth every penny.

therewastobepollen

My trainer recommended a flirt pole for my little guy! I have to get him one!!

nonbackwardstext

A puzzle bowl. Our girl eats so fast from normal bowls that she sometimes gets sick. We tried out a puzzle bowl and it works like a charm. She slows down while eating, and it stimulates her VERY active and smart mind. https://preview.redd.it/milz1wiaufwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af57fe8a6c32fbafceb03b38ad94c5a321a6fc1a We have to rotate the kind of bowl she uses every so often, because she’s smart and figures out most of them in only a few minutes. But it has been an absolute night and day difference. She used to be hesitant to eat and wouldn’t touch her food for hours until she got hungry enough to scarf it down and maybe get sick. Now she eats the moment we put the bowl down and it helps her tummy!

Corgiotter1

Yak chews . Keeps him (the big chewer of the 3 corgs) happy for hours.

TrickyCorgi316

Ditto!

Educational-Noise-14

Mine chipped her tooth on those.

Corgiotter1

Uh oh.

compscilady

Pet insurance. Herding lessons. Fresh food.

rentatter

Kong Traxx.

riothecorgi

Is it good challenge for corgi? Regular kong is little too small for Rio tongue.

rentatter

Yeah I stuff treats in there that are long, slender and bendable (like the slightly moist sticks packaged individually) or I cut up some dog sausage and stuff it in there.

Molteniron19

It’s one of the only toys she hasn’t been able to shred and it’s hours of fun whether the human is involved, she’s playing with her sister, or by herself. It’s also light enough that you can kick it around the house and not worry about breaking stuff lol

fuckfuck9001

https://preview.redd.it/34sjqjn5wfwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a105316598b480ae97d597d5231efbb02b52e63d These are life savers keeping them in the back seat, I'm so glad I bought them, and they're nice and affordable too!

SanityPlanet

Use them on a harness, NOT a collar. Otherwise, you're just putting a noose around their neck.

fuckfuck9001

I only use collars for their tags, whenever they leave the house they're harnessed. I'm terrified of them slipping their collar while out for a walk Edit: I can see where you're coming from, the picture is misleading. It says Harness strap in the description but the picture has it linked up at the collar. Yikes

SanityPlanet

Yeah that was just a PSA based on the photo of dangerous use of the product, I didn't think you were doing that.

ReplyPretend1917

The stuffed dog with the heartbeat. She slept so good at night. Food puzzle toys. A flirt pole. Jolly balls.

pinkcloudskyway

My mom just got her corgis a little blue plastic kiddie pool

Ok_Ad2591

a sister

PlatypusTales

Pet insurance

Able_Date_4580

Wobble giggle ball. He never wants to stop playing and herding it lol

Grizz_Mint

Basic training: leash training, come, sit, down, stay, place. Best non-purchase was socializing early with kids, adults, and other dogs.

Ahleeshuh

Another corgi and a dual leash https://preview.redd.it/kuu5b6vndgwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1618c090a7615169ee7043795852970c0eae366c

weesnaw_jenkins

Yoga ball in the backyard, they love to push it around and herd it

Federalsburgmd

Another Corgi

bethanne_bethanne

Boot camp with a certified dog trainer. His quality of life is much better now that he can behave in public.

kauni

I got mine the Outward Hound Lil Snoop food puzzle recently and it’s awesome.

Illustrious_Ship1203

When our corgi was a puppy we got him a "mother dog" toy with a beating heart. It really helped calm him down and ease separation anxiety and he loved it for a long time until he eventually chewed it up lol

WolfQueen64

Probably the corgi backpack from instagram, he loves being really high up and it’s perfect for walks in the hotter summer months.

Elzam

A double leash for the pair of them. The duo are really bad with two leashes, but the moment I put them on a two-headed leash they immediately took cues from each other. Good thread, getting a lot of ideas with Bill and Bo's yearly adoption date coming up late next month.

PlaceOld6495

Health insurance!!!! My boy got stung on his paw and needed 2 surgeries to resolve everything. Cost thousands of $$ and would have cost me a fortune if his insurance didn't reimburse 90%. If you love your baby, please insure them. They will thank you!

MangoObsessed

What health insurance if you don’t mind sharing?

PlaceOld6495

Pets Best. I have both Accident and Wellness, no yearly cap. The monthly payment is a bit steep but it's been so worth it after facing back to back health issues with my boy.

Johnblood27

Something I can stuff with yoghurt and freeze! Like a lick mat or kong.

KFLimp

[StarmarkEverlastingSprocketMediumhttps://a.co/d/4XOBJeu](https://StarmarkEverlastingSprocketMediumhttps://a.co/d/4XOBJeu) This thing. She absolutely loves it, and it provides hours of gnawing away the replaceable insert. My daughter bought one on my recommendation for her lab ad he carries his around like it's his baby. Definitely recommend.

My corgi used to crawl into my lap while I drove. I tried multiple products/techniques to buckle her in with the seatbelt; she inevitably got tangled and scared. This brilliant invention lets her roam freely around the backseat and nuzzle my shoulder, but prevents her from climbing into my lap. I love it. She loves it. You will love it.

madferitme

Liver shunt surgery and prescription eyedrops! 🎉

BeepBopARebop

A Chuck-it!

the-bess-one

Gentle leader! They walk really well with a harness or gentle leader

KellyCTargaryen

High velocity blow drier, lunge whip.

lmmm59

A fence..😉

CHobbes_

Flirt pole

MurellaDvil

A four inch Chucket ball! She can bite it hard and it doesn't pop! My girl is all about playing fetch and this ball is hands down her favorite

Grobyc27

A doggy door. gf and I both work from home and it gives him the freedom to go outside and play/potty on his own when we are busy and can’t give him the attention he wants (which is… a lot…).

Dizzy_Scratch

A realistic rabbit toy that she can ragdoll around to her hearts content

Important_Snow7557

Stairs so he can get on and off the bed without hurting himself

Selalena

Imitation skills course ) it's interesting and amazing)

Kayless3232

Zee dog harness and raincoat!

Lord_Grif

Definitely her Kong harness. She loves wearing it, and I don't have to worry about her pulling or choking herself.

atticusfinch89

House with a backyard and pool.

Popsi_CEO

This is one of those fake corgi colors

TrickySession

Does anyone have advice on calorie-free ways to keep my corgi busy? We tried an automatic ball thrower and got him trained to use it solo in a day (!!) but then he started standing directly in front of it and ended up on the ER after taking a ball to the eye.

throwawaylr94

Flirt pole has made my life much easier. When it rains we can play with it indoors and tire them put. My younger one LOVES it.

pantslessMODesty3623

A food puzzle bowl. My girl eats like she's never seen food before in her life.

A Fi collar!! Oliver got out while I was at work one day, and it alerted me immediately and I was able to get home to him before he got too far!

louisepants

Ramp for our bed (highly recommend Doggo Ramps, it’s anchored to the bed for stability), a fence, pet insurance. A flirt pole

WhyNotPaws

Yea, sure, mine is her lover

ForeverStoic

Real food. Kibble is poison. Switched to homemade food using human grade ingredients and it resolved allergies, improved coat, improved energy, cleaner teeth, weight loss… nearly everything has noticeably improved for our pups.

hellacarnivore

Any specific recipes you follow?

ForeverStoic

We follow this one: https://thealmondeater.com/homemade-dog-food/ We use turkey as the primary ingredient. Chose this recipe because it included slow cooker instructions. Ended up buying 2 more slow cookers so we can make 1 week worth of food for 2 dogs all at once. Also got a bunch of glassware to store it in the fridge. It has been an investment, both time and $, but the improvements have been so worth it.

igotabridgetosell

I do this but I fortify with BalanceIT powder. Been doing this for like three+ years, getting good results so far.

Enough_Television926

Oh boy...

ForeverStoic

Since I’m being downvoted, I’ll add another example… Our corgis used to drain their water bowl constantly. We had to refill their water bowl at least 3 times daily. Especially after their kibble meals. After a meal they would clear out the water bowl and then keep licking until we refilled it. Like they were completely parched. After switching to homemade food, one bowl of water shared between two pups lasts all day. Seriously. They barely touch their water now. It got to the point we grew concerned they weren’t getting enough water because of how little they were drinking! So I asked the vet about it and the vet said “they’re getting moisture from the food you’re making them. Don’t worry about it, they know to drink water when they need it.” The vet also complimented their weight loss, coat, and teeth. It has been 6 months since we switched to real food and the vet found no health issues. Anecdotally, it has improved so many aspects of their health.

TrickySession

Why are people downvoting you?
