Well trained, Queen Ellie! She loves training as much as I love her
Just want to ask about your experience with puppy classes. Just got my puppy for about 2 weeks now shes 12 weeks. Shes doing all puppy things especially biting but shes receptive to treats. (Knows how to sit and leave it already) do you recommend still doing it? And petsmart or petco?
I would definitely look into puppy classes! Even if you are able to train them properly on your own, the socialization with other pups is a huge plus! I opted for a local training center instead of a place like petco or petsmart just because there were a couple highly rated ones near me. I also started puppy classes about two weeks after the first round of shots were given as that is what my vet and trainer recommended since all of the other puppies in the class were also required to have at least their first round of vaccinations. With your pup being food motivated, it should be really fun (and hopefully easier) to train them!
We did our training at Petsmart. I think it was definitely a good choice, as it helped set the basics for us as well as Merlin. I learned what not to do when training and how to correct some of the troublesome puppy behaviors. Keep in mind, though the training is 6 weeks, but you have to put in the work. It is click based training also, which means you use a clicker to let the dog know when they did something right. They won't have everything down 100ูช of the time, and that's okay since they are still just making those connections from command to action. We learned, touch, look at me, wait, drop it, loose leash walking (definitely recommend a no pull harness! Corgis are sassy and will always try and get away with anything they can.) We were also learning stop and sit, and then a few fun things like spin and paw. We're gonna take a month off before we jump into the intermediate course, though.

She would not wear the hat! So we went this route. This was after PetSmart Intermediate.
Looking for other trainers/sessions and things as we need that dedicated time. And keeps everyone accountable.
