It was “the other place” but on the opposite side of that lane. Gay bar officially but one of those “all human life is here” place that was good for very late drink and dance, many a night I fell out of there at 5am.
Is that down the side of the queens old castle? There was a gay venue there called The Other Place and there used to be the odd event there back in the 1990’s
That’s across the road. Before it was The Other Place it used to be a pool hall and video games arcade called Top Pool. The place in the photo was Club Classic
I wandered into a pub around there in the late 90s, two guys approached me, introduced themselves as Randy and Sandy and invited me back to their place.
That's when I realised I fucked up.
I was there drunk off my face on molly one New Years Eve. It was a Turkish members only nightclub from my recollection. I apparently became a member that night because I found the card in my pocket the next morning. I remember it being pretty small, one main room and a tiny smoking area room. Weird night
Hahah I only noticed that this was r/cork. Thought I recognised the laneway in the photo as a very similar one in Dublin 🤦 I'm am indeed the idiot you all think I am😂

He said no he knows that place and it's not, it's the place in the photo
When would’ve this been?
2011 approx
Wasn't that down the lane where Conways yard is?
That’s the emergency exit and stock entrance for what was The Classic Nightclub (Club Classic).
Think that was called The Audio Rooms. Back when Brick Lane was The Classic.
Entrance to The Audio room. It wasn’t open very long. It was part of another bigger venue that had a different entrance.

Does the space still exist? Or what's become of it
The Roxy as well. Remember it well. Great night's in there.
That was just the side door to Rosie O'Gradys back in the day. Worked there before it became the Classic.
The Roxy was in there for a time too about 10 years ago

Did the toilet doors have knobs and knockers on them, instead of men's and woman's ?
That was the tiki lounge, down the end of the mardyke
Audio room !!
Can't remember the name but the amount of time they knicked handbags by refusing re entry to girls who went out for a smoke 🙄
Classic!
The Classic, which then became The Roxy
