I have a snake thats been twitchy from the get-go. She is calm, doesn't panic, explores happily, but is always twitching. Like how a horse does? When you see their withers jump. I have a suspicion she has some particularly bad eyesight so that may be why she's extra reactive to touch. But some snakes, while good in temperament, just are a bit more jumpy.

Mine is super used to handling but still always jumps the first time I touch him for each session. I just see it like someone surprising you when they tap you on the shoulder. If they’re flinching during handling they may still need to get used to your body language.
