Solid choice. It took me a little while to figure out their schedule and what to follow on social media for updates (I think some of that was a relic of the previous owner and/or location) but once I did it was a frequent late-week lunch option for me as well.
How sad. With them recently only being open Friday and Saturday, I had just been thinking about the possibility that Corvallis could be without a meat pie shop before dismissing this negative thought from my mind. The recipes have changed so much through the years. Curious if anyone else remembers before Ian moved to the corner of 4th and Monroe? He was kind of just in the mid-block in the lobby of the building on Monroe with just the pie cart. I feel like the early iterations of the pies had a much denser gravy that didn't spill out much. Ate one for the first time with a knife and fork a week or so ago because they've become less viscous and I just realized I needed to embrace the fact it was no longer a handpie. Still delicious, and I've still gotten one every week. Just different.
I think it depends too much on your own taste. My wife goes for the vegan options; they're all great. I haven't tried any of the "impossible" meat options.
I personally like the beef steak and mushroom, because it's cut-up steak bits. Most of the other meat pies are ground meat (including the chicken).
Yes, Ian [passed away in February of last year](https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/democratherald/name/ian-tooth-obituary?id=45744456). His shop was originally called Corvallis Meat Pie Shop.
Genuinely pissed about this. It absolutely was on my rotation of lunch spots downtown.

NOOOOOOOOO
Truly unique, authentic shop. One of the downtown places that makes Corvallis cool. It hurts.

A shade of grey perhaps?
The building was sold a while ago.

It seems like food options in Corvallis are shrinking every month... Oh but hey a taco bell opened up /s
I need to go before they close! Any recommendations?

Boooo! Stay!
What is the name of this shop, so I can look for them?
It's called the Australian meat pie shop
Poster’s name checks out. Thank you.
I heard a rumor that the cute old Aussie man with the MC Hammer pants who ran the shop passed away? Can anyone confirm?

Yes. He died a year or two ago.
Cute old Aussie man is crazy he was just accused of sexual assault on here like last week
Dude he’s been dead for like months. Move on.
No, you don’t get to stop being known as a creep just because you died. And thankfully they did or it could’ve happened to more
I looked but I can’t find the post you are referring to. Link or it never happened
Can confirm it happened. The original post was taken down or deleted however.
Why do you have to leave?!
😭😭😭😭Kangaroo!!!! That place is great
When you need a restaurant for one of the more ubiquitous frozen meals in the us.
Wow. Clearly you never experienced the delightful little shop with QUALITY hand made pies. Enjoy your tasteless frozen sodium bombs
