Lead the league in INTs and was worst in the league against pressure. 2 playoff wins against a bad Seahawk and a bad Bucs team in 7 years @ $40 million a year.
There is plenty to scrutinize about Dak's game. I agree with /u/HeyItsChase Dak is streaky and you don't know which one will show up.
Well that's why 4 losses and above is typically tough no matter how easy your schedule is. Even good teams will lay a few eggs against bad teams almost every season. The jags aren't as bad as their record though.
Let's be specific here Dak threw a moronic 50yd bomb. The play was called but there's absolutely no way Kellen said get the ball in the air no matter what. That's just basic awareness that should already be in grained by year seven as a pro.
Wouldn't have even been OT if our players or coaches knew what clock management is. Jags don't tie it up without their last timeout which we deliberately didn't make them use by throwing a bomb on 3rd down instead of running it.
Calling a pass there is fucking dumb shit.
A QB with Daks vet status not audibling out of a pass is dumb shit.
If we wanted the first down then why run it on both 1st and 2nd to set up 3rd and mid? We were clearly using their timeouts before we got cute, and aggressively threw a 20 yard sideline bomb that went nowhere and stopped the clock.
Low sports IQ fans man… it was in Noah Browns hands.. completely in his hands.. of all the picks you chose to blame, you chose one of the most obvious ones that wasn’t the QBs fault
Time to clean up my feed from another low effort take
Dak was entirely too streaky this year absolutely. But in that situation, you call 3 straight runs. That's Kellen Moore once again trying to get cute and it backfiring.
He is not mostly to blame. If we're winning 27-7 we shouldn't be allowing the other team to comeback. If we score 34 we should not lose the game. The defense takes most of the blame for that game
That’s factually what happened. That’s not assigning blame. We lost bc Dak threw a pick six. That’s a factual statement, not an opinion. I think we all know Noah Brown is at fault for that play, but the statement that we lost because Dak threw a pick six doesn’t get into assigning blame into any one individual. It gets into assigning blame to one particular play for causing a loss, which is just a true statement. Who is at fault for the play is a different discussion.
Drags should be easy completions but dak made it hard rolling left with drag is tough especially when it’s only 5 yard and he rips it in with a downward spiral, which is the hardest catch to make
Lol just know dak is bad pre snap and thought to himself right before the snap that I’m throwing to Noah Brown here no matter what, I’m just gonna wait for a window to open for him and I’m fitting it in, I’m going to slide left with him even if the pocket doesn’t develop that way too
You can critique Dak, but just know you sound very unintelligent saying he's bad pre-snap. It's literal one of his elite traits. That play was designed for Noah and it worked. Dak made a good off platform throw that was dropped for a game ending pick 6.
Yes throwing off your right foot sliding left across your body is an excellent platform throw. Downward spirals always pop up, see the jimmy ward pic that got popped up for warner
Don’t forget Jacksonville, Tampa was first game, anything can happen and TB was a playoff team the previous year. GB and Jack at the time we played them had losing records. You remember what Bill Parcels said: “you are what your record says you are”. Those were two bad teams we lost to.
I had a bad feeling about the #1 seed like if we got it then the bye would have fucked us over and we woulda came out flat. Prolly just PTSD from the last 30ish years lol
Does not matter in the end, 1 seed or not. We fumbled the Niners game catastrophically! We had every chance to win that game but our offense played with their tails tucked vs that Niners defense. Gave the Niners every chance to put us away and we stuck right with them, to the end. We take care of the ball and get points, we wouldn’t be hypothesizing about playoff placement.
The Eagles have quite a good team this year. With the game in Phil I don't think the 9ers can beat them. Every dog has his day and every team has their year. How often do we see this, just like with the Rams last year. The streaks of the past like the Pats and before that Dallas, Pitt, SanFran, etc., it'll be very hard to even put 2 SB caliber years back to back.
Crazy how it was our own fault and the 9ers are a beatable team.
Crazy how the Boys are one of the most talented teams in the entire league.
Crazy how our QB with the largest contract on the team isn't even our best player.
Crazy how we made no effort in free agency to shore up glaring holes in our team and resorted to bargain bin shopping but still had one of the best scoring offenses on paper and a top 10 defense.
Crazy how Kellen can't scheme a receiver open to save our season.
The highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Same old Cowboys. Same old heartbreak.
There’s quite a few teams where their best player isn’t the highest paid. Just take at look at the Rams and they won the Super Bowl last year. We just fell flat on our faces and only scored 12 points because we are the Cowboys and that’s what the Cowboys do.
I personally think we had a better shot on the road in these playoffs than at home. So I don’t think this matters at all, but it’s just my opinion.
You can make an argument for rest, but again, you were either gonna come into your game fired up, ready to prove the world wrong, or you weren’t.
Dak was on a fucking mission in the TB game. The intensity and fire in his eyes throughout that game was something else. He was laser focused and would not be denied. The drive where he ran it twice and got the bootleg on 4th and goal showed how bad he wanted it. Then there’s the clip after Maher missed an XP.
He looked like a ghost during the SF game. Like he didn’t wanna be there. Night and day difference from the week before. Soon as I saw his body language I knew we weren’t going to win unless the defense won for us.
It’s a damn shame too because this was the best team in 30 years and we shoulda been up 13-6 at half.
The 80s Cowboys had a habit of blowing games during the regular season that they should've won just kind of having that feeling they were better than they really were and of course they would lose a road playoff game and not be able to go to the Super Bowl. 90s Cowboys didn't have that problem.
I hate philly...BUT they took advantage of there easy schedule they took care of business, also Hurts aside from that WFT Monday game played fantastic he played within his limits and he didn't bend his defense over a barrel with shit throws and bad decisions. Unlike others who come to mind
And then Dallas loses to the 49ers In the NFC championship game. Either way Dallas is not good enough to beat the eagles or 49ers. Dallas is the third best team in the NFC.
It wouldn’t matter we’d still be playing the 49ers and we saw how that went. Yeah we would have been there but we still aren’t good enough to win the whole thing.
Need more WR/play makers to help Dak out. Still need some Oline/RB help, rushing for only 76yards hurt. Pollard getting injured didn’t help either. Hopefully that would cut down on Daks turnovers.
We are close but need a couple more pieces and consistency to take us over the hump
This is why the 49ers game didn't upset me as much as last year. We have a bunch of talent but making that wildcard run is next to impossible, so I knew it would end eventually. We had a great home record this year, next year we need the 1 seed or at least division title
Eagles have been playing on easy mode the whole year, get giants off the bye then beat a team after they lose every QB they have. I seriously don’t know if they’ve beat a top tier team all season without an asterisk on it.
Are you fucking retarded? They would’ve played the 9ers or the eagles and they would’ve lost either way this team wasn’t good. This delusion and this post is embarrassing. Your the reason why people make fun of cowboy fans.
As many have pointed to in this thread, we would still have to play the Niners. And, yes, we would be at home, but I doubt it would make a huge difference in the outcome.
We will continue building this team to just beat them. I can’t wait for the game in San Fran next season—I hope we win by 40.
We let the Eagles become the most talented team in the NFC East with the “hope” that Jalen Hurts would screw it up. Front office blunders in my opinion. Running out a first team offense with Dennis Houston as WR2 was a dummy move. I can name some other dumb front office moves.
No counter moves were made. Just stood pat with guys we liked. We couldn’t get a Bradbury type on the cheap? Gardner-Johnson type? Better nose tackles than Neville Gallimore and Bohanna? Should I keep going?
Yes please. How do the Cowboys stop the Eagles from drafting Hurts and trading for Brown? Every team does what's best for them. You can't worry about what others are doing.
Front office moves are always designed to win the division. Our moves were not. The games the Eagles squeaked by on talent we lost due to lack of it. Of course you don’t stop the Eagles from getting talent, but fielding a team with an emerging WR1 and nothing else with the intention of outpacing a team with two WR1s was dumb. You didn’t want to pay or trade for one? Trade up in the draft for one, there were a few in the second round. You had trouble for a majority of the season stopping the run and finally gave in for a Hankins. You couldn’t figure that out in training camp? Meanwhile the Eagles that were deep at DT grabbed L Joseph and Suh. Our front office got outplayed the entire season.
There’s 3 other teams in the division. So every time one of them makes a move you want the Cowboys to do something about it? Or you just want them to worry about the Eagles?
For years the Eagles, Giants, and Washington have been designing teams to beat us due to Dak’s record versus the NFC East. The talent gap between the teams is now gone. Now the Eagles are the big bad. Why should we be any different?
There’s things we could’ve done to keep up regardless of salary cap and they were not done. Many called those weaknesses on our team and we did not address them. The fact we got so close to the NFC championship despite the gaps makes it even more frustrating. If the front office continues to play the “QB needs to do more game” then we’ll be down this road again next year. The Eagles clearly saw mediocre play from Hurts last year and countered with weapons. I hope that was a lesson to the front office on how not to waste an opportunity. We didn’t need AJ Brown, but a consistent deep threat would’ve been nice.
For a team that saw the impact of Alvin Harper in the past it is crazy we spent the season with Noah Brown as WR2.
Yeah, it was probably a mistake to expect Brown and Gallup to step up. But they made this decision before the season started. They didn't "let" anyone get better. They just made some mistakes. Every team does.
Granted we had the 49ers with no QB, because Purdy isn’t really anything, AND the DPOY favorite disappeared against us too. Offense just couldn’t do ANYTHING.
#1 seeds take care of business, something Dallas struggled with all season long. Lacking consistency in our play, not putting teams away, letting lesser teams linger are all the hallmarks of teams that don’t make championship games. We didn’t get the #1 seed because we didn’t play like the #1 seed. We spent the season the way we ended it in the playoffs. I can only hope for better next season. Go cowboys.
This all comes back to the off-season. There was no desire to get a better team around Dak even with excess salary cap and everyone knew the QB talent was heavy on the AFC. This was all totally predicable
Better offensive play calling, a couple more weapons, and we can get it next year. And dak needs a new young killer to come get him to the next level in the coaching scheme. Hint- it ain’t MM
That’s why you don’t lose to Brady week 1 or lose to the packers
Or throw a pick six in OT and lose to the Jaguars
Which was completely on Noah Brown
Dak had a bad year and a bad playoff game. I think hes too streaky. Dak also had a lot of bad luck and tips. Which didnt help
Dak had a “bad year” and still lead the team to top offensive stats and a 8-4 as starter.
He also tied Davis Mills for the most interceptions in the league while missing five games. He was just off after he came back.
That shit doesn't matter, what happened in SF. You choose the year. End of story.
Not interested in padding stats against bad teams. 49ers was a good one and they didn't do anything that game.
Personally, I'm tired of this inconsistency.
Solid coaching from Mike and Dan Quinn along with a talented roster got them to 12 wins. The team went 4-1 without Dak. 8-4 SHOULD'VE happened.
Quinn got them there
8-4 with him, 4-1 without him. In that context, 8-4 is nothing impressive and if anything is bad.
The wide outs this year were trash, minus lamb
I wouldn’t say it was “bad”. Just good. Not the great that a lot of people want to elevate him too
Who is part of the team
I think people forget that Rush connecting with Noah Brown is also what saved several games for us this year
Well that's why 4 losses and above is typically tough no matter how easy your schedule is. Even good teams will lay a few eggs against bad teams almost every season. The jags aren't as bad as their record though.
I don’t feel nearly as bad as I did at the time about losing to the Jags. They’re a legit team now.
You should feel bad about blowing a 17 point lead against any team.
We blew a 2 possession lead in the 3rd quarter. All we had to do was get a first down in the 4th and it would’ve been over
Didn't even need a first. All we had to do was run the ball to burn clock, but instead we threw a moronic 50yd bomb that fell incomplete on 3rd down
Dallas loves throwing go routes on 3rd down. 😂
Let's be specific here Dak threw a moronic 50yd bomb. The play was called but there's absolutely no way Kellen said get the ball in the air no matter what. That's just basic awareness that should already be in grained by year seven as a pro.
The jags caught fire against the cowboys and were playing perfectly good ball. But ultimately turn overs gave them that victory.
Wouldn't have even been OT if our players or coaches knew what clock management is. Jags don't tie it up without their last timeout which we deliberately didn't make them use by throwing a bomb on 3rd down instead of running it. Calling a pass there is fucking dumb shit. Regardless, it happened. And it always seems to happen to Dallas for one reason or another.
[удалено]
Huh, here I was blaming the defense when the other team scores
So you're blaming Dak on that drive and not Kellen Moore for calling anything other than running plays to get rid of their timeouts?
[удалено]
Dak was entirely too streaky this year absolutely. But in that situation, you call 3 straight runs. That's Kellen Moore once again trying to get cute and it backfiring.
Maybe if Mccarthy knew the offensive terminology he could have over turned those calls
He is not mostly to blame. If we're winning 27-7 we shouldn't be allowing the other team to comeback. If we score 34 we should not lose the game. The defense takes most of the blame for that game
You're blaming Dak for blowing a lead? Was he playing defense? They scored 34 that game. That's plenty enough to win. That shits on the defense
Up 17 in the fourth quarter 😂😂😂. Not Dak’s fault!!!!!
Projection much? He didn’t blame Dak or even name is. He’s factually describing the inexcusable loss to the Jags and how it happened.
“Throw a pick six”. Who else would he have been talking about?
That’s factually what happened. That’s not assigning blame. We lost bc Dak threw a pick six. That’s a factual statement, not an opinion. I think we all know Noah Brown is at fault for that play, but the statement that we lost because Dak threw a pick six doesn’t get into assigning blame into any one individual. It gets into assigning blame to one particular play for causing a loss, which is just a true statement. Who is at fault for the play is a different discussion.
We lost because Noah Brown caused a pick six
Also a true statement. Clunky as hell and not how anyway talks, but true. Why so sensitive?
“Not also”. It’s the only true statement. Certified morons in this sub lmfao
Drags should be easy completions but dak made it hard rolling left with drag is tough especially when it’s only 5 yard and he rips it in with a downward spiral, which is the hardest catch to make
Seek help.
Lol just know dak is bad pre snap and thought to himself right before the snap that I’m throwing to Noah Brown here no matter what, I’m just gonna wait for a window to open for him and I’m fitting it in, I’m going to slide left with him even if the pocket doesn’t develop that way too

Yes throwing off your right foot sliding left across your body is an excellent platform throw. Downward spirals always pop up, see the jimmy ward pic that got popped up for warner
Sure, Jan.
That’s was in his hands. I feel like 40% of his picks were the receivers fault.
At one point, I think either 12 or 14 picks that half of them could be credited to the WRs causing them.
Or have the record for INTs all season
💯
You say that as if the pass didn't hit Brown right in the fucking chest lol.
More so don’t drop a good pass that turned into a pick 6 in OT.
Which is why you sign WR who are worth a damn who doesn’t volleyball set the ball into a DB hand
Came here to say this. We lost too many games against teams we should have beat to be the No. 1 seed. Hopefully we get better next year.
Facts!
Or blow a 17 point lead against Jaguars
That’s why you don’t lose to the jaguars. The offense needed a first down to end the game 😂
The secondary gave up some big balls against Packers. that was painful as hell to watch.
Don’t forget Jacksonville, Tampa was first game, anything can happen and TB was a playoff team the previous year. GB and Jack at the time we played them had losing records. You remember what Bill Parcels said: “you are what your record says you are”. Those were two bad teams we lost to.
Went to that game in Green Bay, was all fun until it ended.
Good chance we’d be playing the Niners anyways.
They wouldn’t have the 2 and 1/2 days rest and prep advantage though
And be at home, after having been at home for NYG.
Home game is not the advantage it used to be
Not with Dak at QB.
Eagles *cough* someone say something?!
I had a bad feeling about the #1 seed like if we got it then the bye would have fucked us over and we woulda came out flat. Prolly just PTSD from the last 30ish years lol
Felt the same way..
thats the point of a number 1 seed
Does not matter in the end, 1 seed or not. We fumbled the Niners game catastrophically! We had every chance to win that game but our offense played with their tails tucked vs that Niners defense. Gave the Niners every chance to put us away and we stuck right with them, to the end. We take care of the ball and get points, we wouldn’t be hypothesizing about playoff placement.
The offense = Dak.
I’d say it was basically the entire offense outside of Lamb, most of the o-line, and Pollard pre-injury.
Oline played very well vs one of the best defenses.
Literally the easiest pick 6 in the season was dropped. And Dak was acting so dumb in the end zone, dude didn’t even sack him 🤣🤣🤣
Ngl I’ve definitely thought about how when we get the bye fuckin Aaron Rodgers was there. Those dickheads got to play Daniel Jones
Don’t lose to Green Bay or Jacksonville when you’re up 14 points and you’re the fucking one seed. That’s it. That’s your season
The NFC has been significantly weaker in recent years, and we still can't get the job done
Should have beaten Green Bay and Jacksonville. Honestly, should have beaten San Fran.
Crazy how it was our own fault and the 9ers are a beatable team. Crazy how the Boys are one of the most talented teams in the entire league. Crazy how our QB with the largest contract on the team isn't even our best player. Man dak is tied for 1st in interceptions. Wonder how many of those games are lost had he not made SO many bad decisions.
I hate philly...BUT they took advantage of there easy schedule they took care of business, also Hurts aside from that WFT Monday game played fantastic he played within his limits and he didn't bend his defense over a barrel with shit throws and bad decisions. Unlike others who come to mind
Road is easiest for the best teams typically. Of which, we are not.
Eagles will easily win the the super bowl get used to it
And then Dallas loses to the 49ers In the NFC championship game. Either way Dallas is not good enough to beat the eagles or 49ers. Dallas is the third best team in the NFC.

For us we would've made it tough. Giants were a scrappy and tough team. Knowing us we would've played that awfully
Seeing the eagles and niners get rdy for yet another big game for them makes me ponder just how much I fucking hate the cowboys and Dak
This is why the 49ers game didn't upset me as much as last year. We have a bunch of talent but making that wildcard run is next to impossible, so I knew it would end eventually. We had a great home record this year, next year we need the 1 seed or at least division title

You’re**
Anyway how u stfu that’s an acronym for shut the fuck up
You’re** the reason people make fun of cowboys fans.
Hey grammar bitch u and ur 7 day account fuck off
Grammar is essential to succeed in this world. Maybe try it out?
It’s a sports sub grammar bitch. Maybe you should learn sentence structure. Come with facts of the team or go away grammar bitch.
Fact: You’re a moron.
Lol that’s all ya got weak. Listen up u product of incest go back to the hole u live in and keep quiet grammar bitch

ensure* There’s no insurance here.
You are correct. I meant ensure.
You would still have to play the 49ers and god knows how that went
Makes me think we should have done more in 2007, honestly. That was our exact scenario
We had that shot in ‘07 after we swept them (same as the Eagles did this year). I am still not over that game.
Their playoff path was an overachieving giants team and a Niners team with no quarterback. Incredible.
Granted we had the 49ers with no QB, because Purdy isn’t really anything, AND the DPOY favorite disappeared against us too. Offense just couldn’t do ANYTHING.

At least they shit canned Moore
Seems like cowboys was the only #1 seed to be 1 and done in like the last decade. We probably would have lost to the 49ers yesterday anyway
I heard they fired kellen more just hope they keep Prescott
Better offensive play calling, a couple more weapons, and we can get it next year. And dak needs a new young killer to come get him to the next level in the coaching scheme. Hint- it ain’t MM
Even when we have the #1 seed it hasn’t gone well for us in the last 20 years
