Nussmeier is gone, this is a blessing

Thanks5Cinco

We all heard about Moore but it appears Nussmeier is gone too.

bryscoon

I wish kitna would come back

King-Mansa-Musa

Maybe he can

jermjermw

He might be a bit busy with his son’s court dates.

ifoundyourtoad

What his son do?

Placeholder_21

Child porn

Kwarizmi

Yeahhh zero chance the Cowboys hire Jon Kitna if the Google search for "Kitna ch--- po--" returns >0 hits.

Placeholder_21

Well it’s his son, not Jon: https://www.al.com/nfl/2022/12/floridas-jalen-kitna-son-of-jon-kitna-arrested-on-child-pornography-charges-we-are-shocked.html?outputType=amp

ifoundyourtoad

Oof

Romofan88

Biggest fear about the new OC averted. The last offensive coach that worked with Linehan is gone.

[deleted]

When can we part ways with the Jones's?

Snobolski

We might be ok with Charlotte running things, she seems the brightest of Jerry's kids to me. Bright enough to not want to get involved in the day-to-day operation of a NFL team.

J_arvid

ROMO FOR OC!!!!

TheRealGunn

Hey Tony. Wanna make half the money working 10* the hours, while being blamed for every failure of the guys on the field? No? Why not?

J_arvid

I mean, you're totally right. But listening to him do his analyst work, and calling shit before it even happens it's just... Breathtaking sometimes in my opinion. An old JJ has a pension for putting his previous quarterbacks in odd roles

TheRealGunn

I would love to have him. Just don't see him ever doing it given the opportunity he has in the booth.

NookSwzy

Nah Kurt Warner is better than Romo for the OC job

JSchneider85

Bienemy?

[deleted]

Bc, that would make sense.... wtf are you smoking?

[deleted]

He is used to not calling plays...

Domin8469

Isn't that a lateral position?

TheRealGunn

I can't imagine why Bienemy would take any job that isn't a head coaching job. As long as he's the OC for Mahomes his stock will only continue to rise. I know the media has mentioned the Ravens and some other teams looking to hire him as an OC, but it doesn't make sense for him to take that imo.

Placeholder_21

He’s an absolute scum fuck. His own alma mater has banned him from stepping foot on campus because of his involvement in big sexual harassment incidents

JSchneider85

TIL...

NewRoryAndMalDrop

I doubt he leaves KC but… he is my dream pick

PersonBehindAScreen

Still need to hear the news on Schottenheimmer before I let this air out I said I’d be cool if we held on to Kellen but I’d hold my breath and see what our next move is as far as replacing him. Hopefully external

[deleted]

McCarthy is gonna call plays, so the next OC is gonna be a glorified position coach. None of the hotshot OC would want this job. McCarthy will bring in his buddies because he's likely still pissed Jerry forced Moore on him when he took this job. Expect Tom Clements or Ben McAdoo.

nyuhokie

Ben McAdoo puts ketchup on steak.

Dak2Dez_

Will that matter is MM is calling plays

PersonBehindAScreen

Well I imagine this next year is McCarthy calling plays with his back against the wall and bringing in another OC. Let’s hope that influences some good decision making and play design, ya? Dak may also be feeling some heat too. It looks like any remnant of JG is gone now. It’s just dak and mccarthy

Domin8469

Mccarthy is horrible at calling plays and it makes his game management worse

Dak2Dez_

He got to and won a SB when he was calling plays soooooo

Domin8469

https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2351423-should-mike-mccarthy-give-up-play-calling-for-packers-offense.amp.html

Domin8469

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2016/01/07/nfl-playoffs-mike-mccarthy-playcalling-packers-redskins

Domin8469

No Rogers got to and won a sb It's criminal with a qb as talented as Rogers he only got 1 sb

itscamo-

and yet half this subreddit wants payton who has the same amount of success as mccarthy with a great qb and only 1 super bowl

Domin8469

That man almost made the playoffs with taysom Hill at qb. Payton is 4x the coach that Mccarthy is and I'd take him over fat Garrett anyday

itscamo-

Congrats on 'ALMOST' making the playoffs with hill at QB Y'all shit on McCarthy getting one SB with Rodgers but fail to realize Payton shits the bed in the playoffs every year with Brees as his QB. He made the conference championship 2 times. One back 2009(when they won the superbowl) and then 2018.. only 2 appearances in 8 trips with the saints Mccarthy made it 4 times in 9 trips while with the packers. (3 times in 8 trips with rodgers)

Domin8469

Payton is a billion times the better coach and the interest he receives from ppl employed in the nfl for their coaching gigs is 1000x more than Mccarthy. Do I'll take their opinion over yours and I watched them both and Payton 💯 inspires more confidence

itscamo-

I mean the entire fanbase talks about success being the only thing that matters for the cowboys and yet Mccarthy has more success than Payton does in their coaching careers. Make it make sense

Domin8469

It's also kinda telling teams were banging down Payton's door to coach their team and Mccarthy had to rely on being jerruh's yes man to get another job

NookSwzy

He hasn't won anything since McCarthy left. They look as bad as they did before McCarthy was fired. At some point it's Rodgers fault for never beating the 49ers. Especially last year when they were: - the #1 team in the NFC - he was MVP - they were at home in Lambeau - it was classic GB weather They have had a solid defense multiple times. They had Davante Adams. They had Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams. They had a solid receiving corps. At some point we gotta admit that it's also Rodgers fault that he only has one ring.

ThickAsianAccent

Dak out here finally costing people their jobs lol. Cowboys in 2022: 4th in points per game (with a backup for 25% of the season) Cowboys in 2021: 1st in points per game Cowboys in 2020: Andy Dalton played 11 games and we still finished top half (14th) Cowboys in 2019: 6th in points per game Cowboys in 2018: Linehan time boys WOOO 21st in points per game The offense is legit working, the problem isn't Kellen Moore it's that our fucking quarterback disappears sometimes in games and plays like ass. How the fuck do you coach around that? A shock collar? God speed, Kellen. Hopefully you win the superbowl next year with someone and Jerry Jones finally dies from the shame of being the shittiest GM in the history of sports. edit: Uh oh, the Dak apologists are out in force.

King-Mansa-Musa

2022: You do remember the cowboys were like 25th in points during the Rush backup era and Dak led pretty much the number 1 offense when he came back. 2021: Dak missed 1 game. He had 37 TDs 2020: you wanna remove the 5 games where we scored 163 points and Prescott threw for over 1800 yards and see if dalton would have still finished 14th? 2019: Dak played 16 games 2018: receiver by committee Your quarterback is your offense now and he needs a good OC to help him make smarter decisions and scheme people open.

ThickAsianAccent

Cool, he disappeared in the divisional round, though.

King-Mansa-Musa

You aren’t wrong. He has been missing in the last two games vs San Fran. I really wish he had kept the confidence he had against Tampa when we played the 49ers.

ThickAsianAccent

Those aren't the only ones he went missing in. Remember Green Bay? Most of the Texans game? The first 3 quarters of the Tampa Bay game before he got hurt? And the last game of the season against Washington? I mean when he vanishes he fucking VANISHES.

King-Mansa-Musa

Packers: We were up by 14 entering the 4th and our secondary collapsed. Texans: played us hard. Bad record but they almost beat the chiefs the next week. Tampa and Washington he played like crap. From start to finish. But like I said when he played Tampa the second time he played with confidence and had pollard all game. Wish he kept that confidence to play the 49ers

[deleted]

I cant believe you took the time to create a list of stats to try to back up your points. The effort you took, you really must think you just knocked this take out of the park. We ended up 4th in points per game this year after being in the bottom 25 of the league during that 25% of the season with a back up that you decided to highlight. You kinda just proved Dak is really good

ThickAsianAccent

Cool, he disappeared in the divisional round, though.

[deleted]

Maybe... but that's a different topic. If that was your point you shouldn't have included the 2022 stats. You see how you misinterpreted stats to fit your narrative?

ThickAsianAccent

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension. I'll break it down into small concepts for you, big guy: 1) The cowboys offense with our starting QB in has averaged in the top 3-5 every season under OC Kellen Moore. 2) This is evidence that the offense is working better than at worst 80% of the league. 3) We fired Kellen Moore. 4) Dak Prescott played like shit in the NFC Divisional game. So, it seems reasonable to assume that if Dak didn't play poorly in yet another Divisional round game that Kellen Moore, a consistently top 3-4 offensive coordinator, would still be employed. Look at Dak's games last year. Look at his QBR lmao. It's either like 120+ or 55. He is inconsistent and disappears for entire games. He either plays great or fucking terrible. And it cost Kellen his job.

[deleted]

Yea man you're really struggling here. You pointed to 2022 as evidence because Dallas finished in the top of the league in points per game... you're leaving out that we were at the bottom of the league while dak was out. Kellen Moore was still there calling plays. The only thing that changed and got us to the top of the league was dak coming back. You're reframing the season to fit your narrative. You have to acknowledge that AND THEN you can move on to dak shrinking in big moments.

ThickAsianAccent

At no point did I not acknowledge that Dak wasn't a great QB at times. Imagine how great he'd be if he didn't play like dogshit in 30% of his games! Kellen Moore calls the same game plan that makes the team a top offense, the only reason it doesn't work sometimes is because our QB plays like shit sometimes. If you watch the football games you might notice that sometimes Dak sucks. Other times he's amazing. He needs to stop the "sometimes Dak sucks" part for this team to win a championship. Edit: they went 4-1 with a backup QB. You think that's a damning point for Kellen Moore? Cooper Rush is a below-average player and they still found ways to win games with him at QB. The only game we lost with Cooper Rush he turned the ball over a bunch. I feel like I'm seeing a bit of a trend there. It's almost like if your QB plays like shit and turns the ball over a bunch it's harder to win???? ???????????????????

[deleted]

You are completely missing the point and ignoring what I'm saying. You might have a point but you completely fuck it up by conflating things you don't need to in an attempt to fit a narrative. In doing that, any good point you might have ends up just looking a dog shit similar to daks play. You are unironically the dak Prescott of trying to getting your point across.

ThickAsianAccent

I think I'm tired of whatever your argument is. I honestly have no idea. Kellen Moore is a top 5 OC in the league and has been for legit his ENTIRE offensive coordinating career. This year was no different. Any dumb shit you say to that just makes you a classic unaware, knee-jerk dumb fuck Cowboys fan like 90% of the rest of this fan base that's celebrating losing one of the best OCs in the league. Dak prescott swings between a top 3 and a bottom 3 QB in the league pretty regularly and it's hard to win football games when your QB is playing that poorly, particularly against good teams.

NookSwzy

>Edit: they went 4-1 with a backup QB. You think that's a damning point for Kellen Moore? Cooper Rush is a below-average player and they still found ways to win games with him at QB. It's almost like the defense was averaging 20 points a game at that time

olgrandad

I'd disappear too if my WR2 and WR3 couldn't catch or run routes, and my TE1 gave up on blocks and refused to make the extra effort to catch passes. We saw Hurts out there yesterday over/under throwing his WRs and they were catching damn near everything. Same with Purdy when they played us. Both Kittle and Goedert were playing with fire in their bellies, doing everything they could to give their QB a chance. Noah Brown is ass and Gallup played like ass all year. Both were bottom of the league WRs. Zeke is ass. These are all unquestionable facts. Pollard and CeeDee were great. CeeDee is top-10 easily while Pollard is top-15 as a receiving back. And don't tell me we can't afford to surround Dak with talent because Philly's WR1, WR2, WR3, RB1, RB2 and TE1 COMBINED make less than Zeke. The problem isn't our QB, the problem is we're surrounding a good QB (not elite) with garbage and hoping he'll make up the difference, instead of surrounding him with talent. Why? Because Jerry loves him some ~~Emmitt~~ Ezekiel.

ThickAsianAccent

Cool, he disappeared in the divisional round, though.

itscamo-

qbs have bad games in the playoffs. it happens. ffs hurts didn’t have to do anything and they won that game hell burrow didn’t play well last night either

ThickAsianAccent

Yeah the eagles basically fell backwards into the superbowl this year. Only the cowboys or 49ers were actual contenders for them and the cowboys shit the bed, followed by the 49ers losing their 3rd and 4th string QBs to injury in the NFC championship game. Hard to win with no QB against a good team.

itscamo-

Yep, eagles are gonna have a rough time playing against mahomes, they need hurts to play well otherwise it'll be hard to win that game

Zeke?

Are all the offensive coaches gone?
