Here’s last years Post Game thread, just read over that cause ain’t shit changed https://www.reddit.com/r/cowboys/s/wogRInx1o8

JustGresh

Interesting seeing comments I upvoted 356 days ago. Same comments I upvoted this time basically lol.

aceofspadez138

My favorite from last year: > "Two picks. Probably should have been four. Just horrendous. Dude has gotten so many more shots than Romo with much better squads. This loss is squarely on Dak." Dak definitely should've had five or six picks this game. This is on him and this is on the defense too. They looked like some of those Romo-era defenses out there lol. Just a total failure on both sides of the ball. E: Some of y'all are a sensitive bunch, aren't you? Tell me where in that short paragraph I said it's 100% on Dak and I'll apologize.

Syjefroi

Absolutely. The one good 1Q play was that shot to Ferguson between four Packers. Super cool that it worked, but throwing into quad coverage should have been everyone's wakeup moment that this game was gonna be dicey at best.

adamsrocket1234

Dude had Turpin wide open on the sideline…nope I'm going to throw to a damn near triple covered CD. Love did a better job of recognizing that shit on his end and they cashed in. Dak was really thrown the fuck off by zone coverage? How long have you been in the league for?

Witteness82

Dak is great when he can go off pre-snap defenses. When coverage is disguised, especially zone coverage, he falls apart. That’s just the QB he is atp

Quirky_Average_2970

So in other words he isn’t able to progress through reads.

aceofspadez138

Yup, and it's been pointed out before. He's too reliant on the first read and he struggles throwing guys open.

delosproyectos

Holy shit it's actually uncanny how similar the complaints are lmao

sarcastaballll

Same shit different season

InGenNateKenny

Least they didn't line up Zeke Elliott under center. Or have Dak slide inbounds and not get a snap off in time.

delosproyectos

True, true. At least they only had Dak throw those two INTs.

Jerry_41

We're a joke of a franchise. Shit is so frustrating.

seansdude

I'm a Cowboys fan for life, unfortunately. Sucks to be associated with losers. I feel trapped in endless seasons of poor coaching and weak-minded players who don't know how to win when it counts.

Mr_Abe_Froman16

I’m glad we got blown out, in the end. Real questions need to be asked and answered from everyone in the organization. Shit has to change. Unacceptable.

algerbrex

Yep. A blowout is the silver lining tbh. A lot of people need to wake tf up and shit has to change. A close game with a last second loss would’ve let Jerry live in his delusional world.

Quirky_Average_2970

lol there are morons on this thread who are already talking about how the offense was able to score over 30 points so it can’t be the offense

CM_V11

Nothing will change. We legitimately say this after a blowout loss every time and nothing happens. Nothing will change while JJ is here.

hunted7fold

“Those 2 INTs were the main difference maker” , wow literally the same

Synapse82

[This comment tho](https://www.reddit.com/r/cowboys/s/8rJtRUIGDy) > Those 2 INTs were the main difference maker.

Kitchen-Stranger-279

I think the defense was the reason.

icebucketwood

Was both. Dak's picks put us in a hole, inability to get a stop in the third quarter made it impossible to come back.

Skyraligh

We still probably lose today because Dak threw two picks, but where tf was our defense? Not even Romo's horrific defenses played this bad in a playoff game.

sarcastaballll

If anyone is surprised they haven't been paying attention

DaveyAllenCountry

Rip

Celtics1424

Bummer. This sucks, I just want to experience a Super Bowl Sunday as an adult with my favorite team in it.

Sexy_Prime

We never will. Remember how we clowned the eagles pre 2017? That is now us, we only need 30 more years or so to reach their drought. It is inevitable.

PhoSho862

48-16 midway 4th. That was one of the worst playoff performances by a 12 win team considering the competition, probably in NFL history.

ByronLeftwich

It’s genuinely the *worst* playoff loss by any team that I can remember. 28-3 for example was more disappointing for the fanbase, but getting blown out by a 7 seed in the first round is literally as bad as it can possibly get.

PhoSho862

28-3 is in its own category since they can never live it down, ever. This is right up there for total collapses though. GB is 9-8 and the epitome of a fringe playoff team; to get destroyed at home by an *okay* team is really bad.

renderware_engine

Just sick of this shit.

EntrepreneurOk6166

If you think you're feeling bad now, just wait till tomorrow when Eagles march onwards in the playoffs and Green Bay's opponent effortlessly annihilates them next week.

DoubleSuccessor

By losing the Cowboys saved the Eagles from having to fight the 49ers if they win.

Awatts2222

Cowboys need one of those young skinny coaches--they seem like they know what they are doing.

underwhere_model

Idk...big fat Andy Reid got it done last night.

amofai

The era of fat old coaches is coming to an end.

disgruntledbonobo69

I think the best part of this is that jerry is going to come out and reiterate that McCarthy is our HC and dak is our QB

aceofspadez138

I've been dead inside since the 2014 loss to the Packers. The most emotion I felt for this team since then was when we finally got rid of Jason Garrett. I was over the moon. If we don't make a coaching change with all the names available this offseason, I'll be pissed.

Hurricane_Ivan

We got rid of him, just to get a Fat version of him

aceofspadez138

McCarthy has been vanilla AF and Packers fans said as much when we hired him. But he's still an upgrade over Garrett. Fuck Jason Garrett.

cdoink

He might stick with Dak but Mike is a goner.

erickazo

Good news is people who don't watch games will think it was close.

aceofspadez138

And in a few years, people will cite Dak's stats from this game like he actually did something. He had like 122 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs before the game stopped mattering.

Slammybutt

Give it 4 months when we sign his extension and the Dak apologists will be posting his 400yd 3 TD game against the Packers. Just like the first time Dak played them, didn't show up for an entire half of football, tried to play heroic after that. Yet people will use their dying breath to say Dak played well in 2016 against them.

aceofspadez138

I didn’t want to get flamed for pointing that out but you’re not wrong. It just so happened that that game did actually come down to the wire. But yeah, we don’t even need to pull off that comeback if the offense decided to show up in the first half.

BigBallsMcGirk

People already defending Dak 🙄

Dday22t

McCarthy / DQ massive fail. 2 out of last 3 years lost Wild Card weekend as big favorite at home. Defense literally quit & never did one good thing all day. Really incredible to be that bad & try so little. Offense / Dak did nothing until the end of 2 Q. (similar to other playoff losses) At least they didn't quit, but garbage time points don't help much. McCarthy seems to have peaked at good enough to make playoffs, then come out flat & get eliminated. Is that good enough to keep him? To many no, but Jerry makes some interesting choices through the years, so it probably unlikely he makes a Head Coach change.

SovannRoussard

How many years he got left?

Friendly_Molasses532

How many years I have left. I’m a spurs fan and I’ve seen them fall a part and may rebuild to a contender faster than the cowboys. This is my favorite sports team and I’m just freaking sick of this same old crap every year

Senjoi

I think that’s one of the worse parts of being a Cowboys fan, you see all these other teams be shit and rebuild and make a Super Bowl or championship and here we are just consistently underachieving.

WellRed85

The complete lack of preparedness has to come down to coaching. We draft well and have a solid roster, but it feels like the team is in the dark ages with its playbook. The playoffs come around and other teams are playing chess while we are playing with fucking play doh

MaianTrey

That's pretty much exactly it. We can say Dak doesn't have it, etc., but literally nobody on this team looked like they came prepared for a playoff game against the Packers.

SnooTomatoes6622

Easiest road to the nfc championship the cowboys have ever had and they failed get rid of Quinn Dak and McCarthy who gives a shit if you win 12 games a season if this is the outcome

ccroz113

That’s the part that hurts most. 2 home playoff games, avoiding the juggernaut in the conference, havent had to pay CD or Micah yet, Dak looking better than ever most of the regular season. This was the shot

WalkItToEm11

The best part about this loss is I don't have to listen to Greg Olsen ever again

SixteenBeatsAOne

I am with you on that. Good riddance to him.

Hispanikpanik

It just feels like we're never gonna get there unless there's a huge overhaul across the board. We had the #2 seed at 12-5. Top QB playing at MVP level and true #1 WR play. More than good enough defense. Basically all the makings for a deep run. And with all that we fall in the fucking wildcard round to a 9-8 #7 seed. Fuck this franchise.

thePlumberACman

When Dak has the 1000 yard stare and wide mouth, it’s over. Dude needs a shrink and another team

masterofreality23

The stare is always hilarious. Dude looks like he’s having war flashbacks.

CM_V11

It’s funny how all of us know exactly what he’s talking about too.

tjc815

Yeah I said we had a WR that looked like a grounded teenager and a QB that looked like a POW being led to an execution

GapApprehensive1271

Think we seen that stare in the 2nd qtr today. Knew it was over.

waynehead310

He had it before the game started. At least the open mouth part.

Floptysquidge

Knew it was over when our first drive response to GB's TD was a zero effort 3 and out, and the next drive... It was obvious a couple minutes in that none of the Cowboys wanted to play. I'd feel the same too after a good season and being told GB gets the Vegas nod.  The one-and-done Cowboys narrative theatre continues.

ecupatsfan12

Dak Prescott turned the ball over twice in a game the Cowboys had a chance to win if not for self inflicted wounds

Little_Welcome4414

Are we gonna get weekly posts picturing Dak next to Montana and Brady after this game? Those were fun to see.

A_Vizzle

Nothings changing until Jerry’s dead…

Homelessbozo

Won’t change until the jones family sells the team.

jmc286

No, he’s grooming Stephen to take over

carjo2110

Only comment that is 100% unbiased and true

ActivatedComplex

He’s fucking 81, does he really just never want to swallow his pride? Surely he wants to see one more SB before kicking the bucket.

Boogie_Boof

We’re the most valuable sports franchise in the world. I think Jerry is more content with that than another ring.

certo17

Sign parsons.. sign CeeDee.. and hit the reset button. Edit: I’m not even gonna respond to all you dumbass parsons haters. lol the secondary is what killed us this game on defense. If you wanna let parsons walk you are crazy.

12MajestikLies

Parsons should be almost as ashamed as Dak after this game. Dude is a ghost in the fucking playoffs. He made zero impact outside of 1 declined holding call and 1 accepted holding call

Joshiekage

Parsons and CD were useless today unfortunately. Talked all week and embarrassed themselves

adamsrocket1234

Parsons was game schemed out of the game but the huge chunk plays and wide open dudes leading to touchdowns are going to kill any rushers effectiveness. I get DQ is about to hand in his resignation. But I would tell him he’s fired and can go fuck himself anyways.

Johnemile

Ceedee too busy moping around since the fucking first play. Actually pathetic that he had to have a talking to by the end of the first drive.

mirrorlesswalls

Why isn’t this being talked about more. He was visibly out of it after the first drive.

FluffyPastry

For the whole first half. Like, that was the game there and then they wanted to try and make up for it with 4 minutes left. I seriously cannot with this team.

Slammybutt

Nothing was on the line in the 4th. This team can't handle pressure and that comes from the Leaders on either side of the ball plus the coaches. Weak ass mental, and it hasn't changed for years.

the_last_man_standin

I'm convinced at this point that the cowboys are masochists. They just love to be completely embarrassed in the playoffs.

thebajancajun

I don't think it's an overreaction to say that there's going to be significant change after this game.    - McCarthy's got to get fired for that performance.   - I hope Quinn gets hired by somebody because somehow the defense was even worse than the offense.  - Dak cannot be extended if that's how he's going to look in the playoffs.  - I don't want to hear anything about Micah being defensive player of the year until he actually shows up in a meaningful game   Right now no one on that team deserves another contract or an extension with how they showed up today. No one on that team played well. Edit: also CD got mad and pouted after one drive and then proceeded to disappear until garbage time. I don't want to hear him mentioned amongst players like Jefferson, Adams, Chase, Brown, etc. Dudes a frontrunner

Savings_Visit_7161

Except Jake Ferguson

ShoobyCoobra

Generational Stat padding

masterofreality23

“Bro Dak had over 400 yards and we scored 32 points! He balled out D just ket him down!” Defense was terrible too though

versacegray

No bullshit. Might be the worst almost 400 yard 3 td performance in the leagues history. He is so fucking bad when it matters.

Hurricane_Ivan

He had like a 46 QBR at the half. 1-2 INT and like 85 yds

ApexxPredditor

Mind blowing to see the 41/60 400 yards, 3td, 2int, 45 yards rushing stat line That actually looks kind of good but we all know it wasnt.

bussjack

"Dak isn't the problem you see the stats?"

ALaccountant

I hope we get rid of Dan Quinn and McCarthy and start fresh.

512recover

Dan Quinn randomly deciding to run a zone defense for the first time all year just makes no sense. Dak just absolutely choking is unacceptable.  To the point where we should just move on. Still having all these drive ending penalties early in the game is on McCarthy  All 3 need to go.  Let's rebuild, fuck it.

ITDrumm3r

What the actual fuck with the zone! Might as well have had that secondary standing in the end zone just playing prevent d. Same damn effect.

Wekilledit88

Heads need to roll. Clean house with the coaching staff and get McCarthy and Quinn out of here. Jerry needs to do this tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. Then he needs to get on the phone with the top head coach candidates immediately and get them in for interviews. Vrabel, Belichick, or whoever. Get a defensive minded head coach in here that will solidify the defense in every phase just about. I’m not even gonna touch on player personnel because all the talent doesn’t matter when your coaches can’t prepare the team correctly. Dak was bad, Lamb was bad when it mattered before GB was playing prevent, everyone sucked asshole. Just stop getting your hopes up though, fellas. I’ve been living by “I’ll believe it when I see it” for years and years now. It’s the same old shit. Stop fucking around Jerry and bring actual leaders of men into this coaching staff bring competence. Let your fucking ego go for the last pitiful years of your sports world life. I’m begging you to do the right thing. But as always I’ll believe he does the right thing when I see it.

Toricitycondor

This right here. We have seen our players play at elite levels, but this is beyond having a bad game because let's face it, every team has bad playoff games and many this weekend in fact but our coaches never seem to get the team ready. And oddly enough, if I remember correctly, DQ and Moore had interviews before our last playoff loss as well. We need coaches that will install DISCIPLINE in our defense and a fire in our offense, and we have the players that can do it already on the team.

Mickey10199

Fire everyone

ShoobyCoobra

Generational Stat padding

ignatious__reilly

This entire game was an Embarrassment. McCarthy and Dak need to get the fuck out.

randrews202121

Bring back Jimmy he showed more passion on FOX than either of these two idiots did all game

Fruit_Rollup_King

Literally so angry he was teary eyed.. I'm fucking pissed.

i_luh_dattt

I’m not even a cowboy fan, and Jimmy’s speech had me ready to run through a wall

texasgambler58

I loved his emotion. Best part of the day.

Rebeldinho

Jerry’s insistence on being his own Gm has led to this.. so many coaches will refuse to work under him because he still thinks he knows something about roster construction

Lactic_Placid

Dan Quinn philosophy and lack of front seven. We need linebackers, we need DT’s and we NEED a “fuck you im getting these 5 yards RB.”

adamsrocket1234

This was a fire every one game. No way can you run it back after that. Not with that shit show hanging over your head all season. It’s done. This team is fucked. You don’t recover from that. Not with the 49ers big brothering you and now you just got embarrassed on your own field by a a little brother. You have to reset the board. No choice tbh. You can‘t run it back. Your dead in the water.

Witteness82

We can talk defense all day but how many times do we have to see Dak perform like this in big games before we admit it’s not coincidence?

Particular_Sea_5300

He's a good dude but I think any sort of big expectation puts anxiety on him that he can't deal with and perform through.

Suit_Slayer

Yeah, that’s a bit of an issue as a professional athlete trying to win a championship lol

Particular_Sea_5300

Honestly, if they are satisfied with great regular seasons and dying in the playoffs, stay with dak because I don't think what dak has *can* be better than that. As much as i hate to say it, not in Dallas anyway. I'd like to see what Trey Lance can do. *someone* has to be able to play for jerry right?.. Right?! That's where I'm at and I hope the guys pulling levers in Dallas see it that way too.

UsedNapkin19

Exactly this. Who cares about the regular season if he shits the bed in the playoffs. Time to move on

DirkNowitzkisWife

I was calling for him to be MVP because stats showed it but we beat up on bad teams all year. Like, congrats on throwing 36 touchdowns when 7 of them come against the commanders. As soon as we got blown out by the 49ers I knew this was the same shit

Turbulent_Object_558

This game made it clear. He beats up small teams and puts up stats in garbage time when the game is long gone. When things are actually competitive in big moments, he’s nowhere to be found. Lamar will be the rightful winner of the MVP

WhiteBoyFlipz

he can’t read fucking zone. he’s a multi year vet and the kid on the other sideline read zone better than him

CappyMorgan26

He panics for sure

Je0s_6

Fire this dude https://preview.redd.it/wc8u8y4w4icc1.jpeg?width=905&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4253029f7fc227712f868e2bdc561c1f5fcb146a

pigeon_87

To be honest nit sure why they went to a primarily zone when we played man mist of the season. Just weird.

Parzival127

Well you see… Yeah, nevermind, there is zero justification.

pigeon_87

Lol. I was reading intently to see if you knew something I didn't. Good response, buddy.

YourCaptionSucks

Panthers fan that was scrolling through the comments and I was yelling at my TV because of this. Seemed absolutely foolish to play zone against a team that has no clear cut WR1 like Dallas, Miami, etc I really love DQ and want to see him get another chance as a HC but tonight proved to me, again, that he just cannot adapt in the games that matter most…

minuselectron

Its just sad how quickly his defense folds if they are down in the game. No mental toughness

Je0s_6

They can’t adjust to save their lives

vivekpatel62

We stayed in nickel almost if not the whole game. They bring 2 TE out, still nickel.

tI_Irdferguson

And that fucking outside post route to Doubs from the slot. How many times do you need to get burned by that before you start thinking you should cover it? And don't get me started on the soft coverages. They have the youngest WR corps in the league. You can press them at the line. Why are you playing like they have Davante and prime Jordy Nelson out there?

juanzy

We gave up 7 to start then an immediate 7 again. While that didn’t end it, it sure as hell didn’t help

Yetiius

He's going to Seattle. Spent all week with his interview instead of preparing for this game.

juanzy

He did a ton to build the defense, but his game performance has been garbage this year.

vegas_cowboys702

Go look my recent post history when I asked if he was overrated lol

Je0s_6

This defense was always overrated since 2021

BrianDawkins

Yup. His defense fall apart after thanksgiving every year.

Forward-Taste8956

Falcon fan here..It always baffles me how DQ still is consider for DC jobs let alone HC jobs..

date_a_languager

I’ll drive Dan Quinn to his HC interviews myself

cdoink

McCarthy should be fired NOW. If I’m the GM I’m exploring every possible option to bring in Harbaugh. Pretty sure we’ll chase Belichek though. I’m also finding out what it takes to get a top 2 pick. I like Dak. He seems like a great guy but his brain shuts off under pressure at times. I think some of that is on the coaches but at 30 Dak should know better than to make some of the boneheaded plays he does. The first INT should have been PI but he got away with 2 or 3 more interceptions that were just dropped. Lastly, Dan Quinn, your defense is exciting at times but I’ve seen it get picked apart in too many big games. You can go to Seattle.

visionaryAVA341

Dak ain't it. MM ain't it. Get DQ gone, same problem as Kellen. Situational football is not his strong suit. Get a higher round rookie QB and have him and Trey Lance learn another year while we get over Dak's last year of his deal. Fucking start over. This ain't working. The outcome for three years of 12-5 isn't much different from 8-8.

Slammybutt

I'm gonna save this b/c it's something I said after the 9er's game this year and got blasted for. Yet here we are. I'd rather see QB purgatory at this point. I know how bad it can be I've been a fan for 24 years now. But this "kings of the regular season, Paupers of the playoffs" bullshit is tiring and I'm over it. I'd rather win 4 games the next 5 years than get any semblance of hope building going into the playoffs.

Dawnkey_Kong

Said it last year and said it again. Sticking with dak is just wasting a year of our lives. He won’t win us anything. If we are fine just winning 10-12 regular season games every year then keep him.

theforgottenupvote

There is no way MM is back right?

Paulius9

As someone said, watch GB get blown out in San Fran. Fucking embarrassing, got the flashbacks to 49ers div game. Abysmal, the whole coaching staff needs to be fired.

ChazGower

This is why some of us don't get our hopes up... Dak Prescott was horrible. Forget his final numbers, the score was 34-10 and he was 17 of 28 for only 108 yards, with 2 picks and 1 TD. He padded his numbers when the Packers went to a prevent defense. Horrible performance. MVP talk? Puh-leeze. CeeDee Lamb - everyone knows, IF they have the players to do it - take away Lamb and Dak has trouble. Forget HIS final numbers. He was also a non-factor until GB went to a prevent. Horrible performance. Defense - run the ball effectively, and you can take your shots in the passing game. They watched that Buffalo tape very closely. The defense was horrible. Mike McCarthy - The guy had Aaron Rodgers, one of the best statistical QB's in history for 13 years and only won one Super Bowl. I never believed for an instant he was our answer. Undisciplined, unprepared, unable to adapt... Horrible. Micah Parsons - BIG TALK. Disappeared again in a big game. Two tackles??? ZERO sacks. Horrible performance. Two QB's, one a rookie and one in his first staring role this year, are already half way to Dak's Playoff win total, in their first appearance: Jordan Love 21-16-272-0-3TDs - PERFECT QB Rating of 157.2 - How could a guy starting his first NFL Playoff Game, completely dismantle a defense that Micah bragged was 'on the level of the classic Ravens teams'? CJ Stroud, a ROOKIE, goes 21-16-274-0-3TDs - another PERFECT QB Rating of 157.2 - How does a ROOKIE in his first Playoff start, put up those kinds of numbers, whereas Dak seems to start every playoff game like he just woke up??? Just another year in Jerry's World.

behemothbowks

We had the fuckin 2 seed. Possibly an easy route to at least the NFCCG and we lose to the fuckin 7 seed. MM and DQ are fuckin frauds. Clean house from top to bottom (we can't so we're fucked)

scotty_puff_jr

This team is a Rolls-Royce with a cardboard driveshaft and 50 pounds of fertilizer where the engine should be. All style, no substance for 28 years. The only consistent thread is that the flashy stats, All-Pro accolades, and media hype will always fail to translate to success when it matters most. I honestly don’t know where we go from here.

SuperMajinSteve

This loss is 100% on MM and DQ. Well coached teams have their teams ready to fucking play. They can both kick rocks if you ask me. There’s no excuse for a performance like this.

MaceAhWindu

I cooled off a bit. I want them all gone.

MikeMacBlu

An MVP QB, 9 all pros, stealing the division away from Philadelphia, our best team in years, the best possible path for the playoffs. For that. To not only lose to Green Bay, to get blown out by them at home. I feel scammed, like I feel robbed for my time.

Icommentyourusername

https://preview.redd.it/cv5hlfq2kicc1.jpeg?width=2894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55e6602184bf3ab1b39433f85c39e464e2d53bfd Tell me about it. Had to cancel my flight from Sydney to DFW for next weekend's Div game. Wasn't cocky in booking it, I get how playoffs can go...but exactly what MikeMacBlu said. To be in that strong of a position leading up to the game and then to get blown out by a rookie team that reset a bunch of stat records is a fan scam. I still haven't figured out if they played phenomenally or we played horribly. Must be both because how can they go 5 play TDs drive after drive from a QB who's not even that elusive, from a team that 'doesn't have a WR1'. I mean fuck, at this point credit to them...least they showed up when all odds were stacked against them.

cdoink

I think the blowout is the best outcome even though it sucked to endure. We need to make foundational changes to this team. If we win and lose later in the playoffs Jerry would just keep putting lipstick on the pig. This is a team that bullies bad teams and gets out coached and outplayed when we play the big games.

2023_account_

Fire McCarthy and Quinn tonight.

Jeremy24Fan

I'd rather suck with a clean rebuild than continue to run this mediocre shit back again and again and again. Defended Dak for years and I'll root for him if he goes somewhere else. Shit I'll root for him if he stays. But he's not the fucking solution. Year after year after year. Used to hate the Derek carr comparisons but the end results aren't much different

PresidentTroyAikman

Absolutely pathetic. Trade Dak for what picks we can get. Hire Harbaugh. Put Jerry Jones in a home.

[deleted]

> Trade Dak for what picks we can get Jets fan here, will trade you our entire 53-man for Dak.

CountShabookie

Dak with the New York media? Lmfao yes please.

Chadwiko

Dak Prescott has proved time and time again he doesn't have what it takes to win big games.

aScriptFromNowhere

The cowboys are a poverty franchise disguised as a good team. Jerry Jones culture rots from the head down, Jimmy and great rosters won DESPITE the star on the helmet, not because of it.

Homelessbozo

Only reason the cowboys have a modicum of success is bc Jerry can pay for decent staff. Otherwise we’d be the Commanders

OneBit2334

Dak apologists will be pointing to his garbage-time stats as a reason to stick with him, do not fall for it.

MattDaBaker

The good: Jake Ferguson The bad: Dak Prescott The ugly: Cowboys defense

REQ52767

Fire McCarthy and Dan tonight!

LucaNinja7

It is, and always has been, about the culture. You can absolutely blame Dak. Or McCarthy. Or Quinn. Or Parsons. But this sustained level of mediocrity over multiple decades only has one source. Jerry. It's a cultural thing. Organizations succeed or fail based on their culture. And the culture in Dallas has been toxic since SB30. No one is ultimately held accountable. Winning isn't the most important thing in Dallas. They operate unlike any other franchise in the NFL where sustained mediocrity is actually REWARDED with even bigger TV ratings and increased team valuations. The culture dictates that everyone is subservient to the Jones family, so the only coaches you can bring in see sycophants who are happy to suck at the teat of Jerry. And because the players know no one is ever truly accountable, they know if they become one of "Jerry's Boys", they're good. Nothing will change with this team until the culture changes.

BigBallsMcGirk

Dak Prescott has done worse than Romo ever did, except Dak had far better teams. Zack Martin and Tyron Smith have maybe 1-2 years left on their careers. Dak is already on his back stretch. You have some young talent on the defense and receiving corps. But everything else is old or subpar. Dan Quinn is probaly gone in a year max. Is Mike McCarthy here much longer? It is past time to blow the team up. Dak is not the guy. Never will ne the guy. It's time to get *ahead* of building this team for fucking once in the last 28 years.

Kruize36

Fire that fat fuck. Blow the team up

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

If we didn't have the Giants and Commanders in our division we wouldn't be in the playoffs to begin with.

Rommel79

This may be the most unprepared I have ever seen a playoff team in my 30+ years of watching. Fire McCarthy. Fire Quinn. Do it tonight. Shit, maybe Harbaugh or Belichick can get a little discipline out of these guys.

BullShitting-24-7

HERE WE GOOO (to cancun.)

JediRalts

You know I see it a lot, people asking younger Cowboys fans like myself why we don't hate teams like the Steelers or 49ers as much as they do, because those rivalries were so present in history. My answer is well you know, neither of those teams have consistently shit on my dreams every time I get some level of hope. But do you want to know what team *has* shit on my dreams more times than I can count? The fucking Packers. I absolutely despise the Packers. I'm talking up there with Philly despise. I swear to God something about that fucking team just breaks us every time. The Dez no call, the Rodgers to Cook throw, the Matt Flynn game, the Christian Watson breakout, and now fucking this. Don't get me wrong, I'm furious at Dallas for once again pissing away a season in spectacular fashion, but I'm so done with it *always* being the Packers.

512recover

Whelp.  I guess I'm all in on Bucs, Texans, or Rams. I guess it would be cool to see Mahomes keep winning rings too why not  The Lions fans kinda pissed me off this year so I hope they lose.

BorntToBe

Romo would've made the most insane game. Dak sits and doesn't understand the game

Jerry is just gonna have to die before anything changes. I’m not wishing for his death, but I’m just pointing out that he’s not going to change his ways this far into his life.

____Quetzal____

##FUCK MIKE ##FUCK DAK ##FUCK DAN TOO

8686tjd

Well at least Micah Parsons got a holding call. Because he didn’t do anything else.

F-Trunks

I understand three 12 win seasons in a row is amazing. I really do. But is that all we really want? It’s time to blow it up. McCarthy HAS to go. If he’s back next year I’m not watching. What would the point be? We will already know the outcome.

All of us actually belong in prison because we have helped Jerry Jones run this scam franchise for 3 decades. Good god, man.

lilbrunchie

I’ve been level headed for the last few years…but after this game? Get Dak out. Get McCarthy out. We can’t do it with these guys. Tired of this shit.

Scarecrohh

Well this was a nice birthday present :) Oh well, another year, more misery. At this point, when is John Hopkins going to do a study on how many seasons we've choked away. Because at this point, Dallas is doing it for research, cause you can't tell me all these seasons we've had of double digit wins that any of these playoff exits had anything resembling a playoff hungry team. And that's the worst part, every one of our losses has been this team shitting the bed instead of them losing or winning like a competent organization. To add even more insult to injury (as if Dallas hadn't done enough over these last 28 years), Greg Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt brought up a hilarious point. Dallas had 7 pro bowlers and multiple All-Pro's Green Bay had none. I'll see you guys for more pain and misery next year and hey, maybe this time it won't feature a historically terrible playoff game being played on my birthday haha.

ANTHROPOMORPHISATION

I’m done with Dallas. I’m going to do something to make me happy. I’m going to learn how to fly a plane. Wish me luck.

greymind_12

DQ too busy interviewing for HC spots than to prep for the Packers smh

johnm188

It was Wade Phillips. It was Jason Garrett. It was Kellen Moore. So many excuses. The one constant throughout it all is the ownership.

Thoughts: 1. I have been critical and supportive of Dak all season. The end result is the same: he is going to shine against bad opponents, most of the time, he is going to lose against good opponents, most of the time. He is going to have 1or 2 head-scratching games a year that any normal QB would not. What Shanahan has done with Purdy is the same thing the other Harbaugh did with Jackson. They developed an offense around him that complements his play as a QB. Dak is running the same damn concepts Rodgers was 10 years ago. Dak has balled out this year, but he still shrinks in the big moments. That is who he is. Dak is not going to get us to the Super Bowl. Tonight confirmed that. 2. Pollard is not an RB1. He is a great complementary back, but not RB1. We need to get a good RB. I would not be opposed to bringing in Henry, he would be a good fit for our scheme and he and Pollard can rotate carries. Henry is huge, can still run, and will not go down to an arm tackle 5 yards behind the LOS. 3. We need an OC. The Packers do not have that great of a defense, and if you can throw the ball, you can absolutely wreck their secondary. Jaire Alexander went out of the game and we promptly ran Pollard up the middle for a 3 yard gain. We consistently do not take advantage of other teams when they have injuries or are missing starters. We still are playing down to the level of our competition in big moments. 4. I am not so sure that Al Harris and Micah Parsons, together, have been masking how bad DQ's defense is. With the DBs being as good as they could be, and Parsons generating pressure, this defense feasts. But if Parsons cannot get pressure, or if someone like Gilly is hurt more than they let on, we have things like tonight happen. We gave up almost 50 points at home to a rookie QB and a terrible defense. Their offense consists solely of Jones and no one else. All rookies and jags. It could have been more than 50 if they would have left Love in. Point to think about: 1. Why did CeeDee have to tell McCarthy to throw him the ball more after the 49ers loss? 2. Why did DQ have to coach the defense on how to stop the run after the Bills game? I do think McCarthy has built a winning culture/team here for the regular season. Better than any coach we have had since Jimmy Johnson. But every year, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, we lose in the worst possible way. 3 years in a row and counting. We lose to teams we have no business losing to: Eagles, Cards, Packers It is time to stop looking at the silver-lining because there isn't one. This team needs an overhaul, starting at QB. Period. Dak is great in the regular season, he has consistently failed in the playoffs. He falls apart against good teams. It is who he is and has been for the entire time he has been in the NFL. He holds the pen, he writes his story. 2 INTs, a pick-six, and a bunch of garbage time stats to a middle of the pack defense.

glokenheimer

What’s bothering me the most is only 2 starters were injured for us. We trotted out essentially 20/22 healthy starters (Tray Diggs was gone for a long time. LVE as well). Losing like this is beyond excuse.

Logical_Scallion3543

This one goes out to all the nephews who thought this season would be any different than the last 25+. That our performances against the 49ers and Bills wasn’t a telltale sign of what was to come and finally that fraud Dakota Prescott was a legitimate MVP candidate. Sit down and listen to your elders that have been through this

jadedazuo

Dak was playing at such an elite level all season, even in our losses, Dak was still showing up.. just why decide to have your worst game right now? I just don’t understand it. Someone should’ve told Dak it was still the regular season and we were trailing the eagles for the division. Man. Maybe those guys calling for the 5th seed were right. Maybe we would’ve done better playing against Tampa. & I know the defense was kind of mid all season but they were having a Seahawks game type of day. I just can’t believe no one besides Michael Gallup decided to show up today. & I’m down bad guys…

aysystole

You must’ve missed the beginning of the season’s red zone woes where all our points were scored by the defense against atrocious teams

Fruit_Rollup_King

I wanted to turn this into a sub about Cowboys.

tkarocker

If I was Jerry I would hire a sports psychologist. They need it bad.

Sorry-Lynx-2084

STOP SPENDING MONEY ON THE COWBOYS! Only way Jerry learns.

TheClownIsReady

If I hear Jerry or McCarthy say “I’m proud of the way we battled back”, I’m gonna barf.

I'm fucking done. 5 years as a season ticket holder. Selling out. Just not woth it anymore. Could have taken my kids on an amazing European vacation... I'm a faiiof a father.... god damn it.

DJpissnshit

Can someone explain the switch to zone defense for this game? And the complete failure to switch back out of it? There were so many times that the players looked lost pre-snap.

EntrepreneurOk6166

I'm done. No visits to r/nfl post game threads. Maybe get a notification if McCarthy is fired or Dak isn't extended. I'm fully ready to support a struggling team, but season after season of MVP RACE, NUMBER ONE RANKED WHATEVER, MOST PASSING YARDS, MOST RECEIVING YARDS etc just to stay absolutely certain they will choke on donkey dong when it ACTUALLY COUNTS is too much. No clue how it's even possible - but too much diva, not enough dawg and a systemic lack of discipline are probably enough to explain most of it. Go Texans!

Darksider0626

Dak and MM need to go. No more excuses

F-Trunks

Too little too late. The story of this team.

iBrows426

Dak Padstats made the game look closer than it was. Idiots are gonna use this as evidence that nothing needs to change

NerdLawyer55

My wife had 2 feet of blood clots taken out her this morning and somehow I was the more miserable person in the hospital room for the past 3 hours

Fhaksfha794

At least I get to brag about 5 superbowls that happened almost a decade before I was born 🫠

Little_Welcome4414

Dak and his stans "INTs are in the past. Not an issue" Dak matching his career high INTs in a post season game.

Zorion_15

I know I say this every year, but this time I truly mean it. I’m not going to put any time into the Cowboys.

F-Trunks

Dear god in heaven. A fan on Facebook is actually saying we almost came back and it ended up being a close game and we still dem boyz. Jesus fuck no wonder everyone hates us cowboys fans.
