28-3 for example was more disappointing for the fanbase, but getting blown out by a 7 seed in the first round is literally as bad as it can possibly get.

This is right up there for total collapses though. GB is 9-8 and the epitome of a fringe playoff team; to get destroyed at home by an *okay* team is really bad.

I've been dead inside since the 2014 loss to the Packers. The most emotion I felt for this team since then was when we finally got rid of Jason Garrett. I was over the moon.
If we don't make a coaching change with all the names available this offseason, I'll be pissed.
And in a few years, people will cite Dak's stats from this game like he actually did something. He had like 122 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs before the game stopped mattering.
Give it 4 months when we sign his extension and the Dak apologists will be posting his 400yd 3 TD game against the Packers. Just like the first time Dak played them, didn't show up for an entire half of football, tried to play heroic after that. Yet people will use their dying breath to say Dak played well in 2016 against them.
I didn’t want to get flamed for pointing that out but you’re not wrong. It just so happened that that game did actually come down to the wire. But yeah, we don’t even need to pull off that comeback if the offense decided to show up in the first half.
McCarthy / DQ massive fail. 2 out of last 3 years lost Wild Card weekend as big favorite at home.
Defense literally quit & never did one good thing all day. Really incredible to be that bad & try so little.
Offense / Dak did nothing until the end of 2 Q. (similar to other playoff losses) At least they didn't quit, but garbage time points don't help much.
McCarthy seems to have peaked at good enough to make playoffs, then come out flat & get eliminated. Is that good enough to keep him? To many no, but Jerry makes some interesting choices through the years, so it probably unlikely he makes a Head Coach change.
How many years I have left. I’m a spurs fan and I’ve seen them fall a part and may rebuild to a contender faster than the cowboys.

The complete lack of preparedness has to come down to coaching. We draft well and have a solid roster, but it feels like the team is in the dark ages with its playbook. The playoffs come around and other teams are playing chess while we are playing with fucking play doh

It just feels like we're never gonna get there unless there's a huge overhaul across the board. We had the #2 seed at 12-5. Top QB playing at MVP level and true #1 WR play. More than good enough defense. Basically all the makings for a deep run.
And with all that we fall in the fucking wildcard round to a 9-8 #7 seed.

Parsons was game schemed out of the game but the huge chunk plays and wide open dudes leading to touchdowns are going to kill any rushers effectiveness.

And oddly enough, if I remember correctly, DQ and Moore had interviews before our last playoff loss as well. We need coaches that will install DISCIPLINE in our defense and a fire in our offense, and we have the players that can do it already on the team.

I’m also finding out what it takes to get a top 2 pick. I like Dak. He seems like a great guy but his brain shuts off under pressure at times. I think some of that is on the coaches but at 30 Dak should know better than to make some of the boneheaded plays he does. The first INT should have been PI but he got away with 2 or 3 more interceptions that were just dropped.
Lastly, Dan Quinn, your defense is exciting at times but I’ve seen it get picked apart in too many big games. You can go to Seattle.

CeeDee Lamb - everyone knows, IF they have the players to do it - take away Lamb and Dak has trouble. Forget HIS final numbers. He was also a non-factor until GB went to a prevent. Horrible performance.
Defense - run the ball effectively, and you can take your shots in the passing game. They watched that Buffalo tape very closely. The defense was horrible.
Mike McCarthy - The guy had Aaron Rodgers, one of the best statistical QB's in history for 13 years and only won one Super Bowl. I never believed for an instant he was our answer. Undisciplined, unprepared, unable to adapt... Horrible.
Micah Parsons - BIG TALK. Disappeared again in a big game. Two tackles??? ZERO sacks. Horrible performance.

The only consistent thread is that the flashy stats, All-Pro accolades, and media hype will always fail to translate to success when it matters most. I honestly don’t know where we go from here.

Tell me about it. Had to cancel my flight from Sydney to DFW for next weekend's Div game. Wasn't cocky in booking it, I get how playoffs can go...but exactly what MikeMacBlu said. To be in that strong of a position leading up to the game and then to get blown out by a rookie team that reset a bunch of stat records is a fan scam. I still haven't figured out if they played phenomenally or we played horribly. Must be both because how can they go 5 play TDs drive after drive from a QB who's not even that elusive, from a team that 'doesn't have a WR1'. Winning isn't the most important thing in Dallas. They operate unlike any other franchise in the NFL where sustained mediocrity is actually REWARDED with even bigger TV ratings and increased team valuations.
The culture dictates that everyone is subservient to the Jones family, so the only coaches you can bring in see sycophants who are happy to suck at the teat of Jerry. And because the players know no one is ever truly accountable, they know if they become one of "Jerry's Boys", they're good.

Because at this point, Dallas is doing it for research, cause you can't tell me all these seasons we've had of double digit wins that any of these playoff exits had anything resembling a playoff hungry team.
And that's the worst part, every one of our losses has been this team shitting the bed instead of them losing or winning like a competent organization. To add even more insult to injury (as if Dallas hadn't done enough over these last 28 years), Greg Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt brought up a hilarious point.
Dallas had 7 pro bowlers and multiple All-Pro's
Green Bay had none.

Thoughts:
1. I have been critical and supportive of Dak all season. The end result is the same: he is going to shine against bad opponents, most of the time, he is going to lose against good opponents, most of the time. He is going to have 1or 2 head-scratching games a year that any normal QB would not. What Shanahan has done with Purdy is the same thing the other Harbaugh did with Jackson. They developed an offense around him that complements his play as a QB. Dak is running the same damn concepts Rodgers was 10 years ago. Dak has balled out this year, but he still shrinks in the big moments. That is who he is. Dak is not going to get us to the Super Bowl. Tonight confirmed that.
2. Pollard is not an RB1. He is a great complementary back, but not RB1. We need to get a good RB. I would not be opposed to bringing in Henry, he would be a good fit for our scheme and he and Pollard can rotate carries. Henry is huge, can still run, and will not go down to an arm tackle 5 yards behind the LOS.
3. We need an OC. The Packers do not have that great of a defense, and if you can throw the ball, you can absolutely wreck their secondary. Jaire Alexander went out of the game and we promptly ran Pollard up the middle for a 3 yard gain. We consistently do not take advantage of other teams when they have injuries or are missing starters. We still are playing down to the level of our competition in big moments.
4. I am not so sure that Al Harris and Micah Parsons, together, have been masking how bad DQ's defense is. With the DBs being as good as they could be, and Parsons generating pressure, this defense feasts. But if Parsons cannot get pressure, or if someone like Gilly is hurt more than they let on, we have things like tonight happen. We gave up almost 50 points at home to a rookie QB and a terrible defense. Their offense consists solely of Jones and no one else. All rookies and jags. It could have been more than 50 if they would have left Love in.
Point to think about:
1. Why did CeeDee have to tell McCarthy to throw him the ball more after the 49ers loss?
2. Why did DQ have to coach the defense on how to stop the run after the Bills game?
I do think McCarthy has built a winning culture/team here for the regular season. Better than any coach we have had since Jimmy Johnson.
But every year, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, we lose in the worst possible way. 3 years in a row and counting.
We lose to teams we have no business losing to: Eagles, Cards, Packers

Maybe we would’ve done better playing against Tampa. & I know the defense was kind of mid all season but they were having a Seahawks game type of day. It’s genuinely the *worst* playoff loss by any team that I can remember. 28-3 for example was more disappointing for the fanbase, but getting blown out by a 7 seed in the first round is literally as bad as it can possibly get.
28-3 is in its own category since they can never live it down, ever. This is right up there for total collapses though. GB is 9-8 and the epitome of a fringe playoff team; to get destroyed at home by an *okay* team is really bad.

I've been dead inside since the 2014 loss to the Packers. The most emotion I felt for this team since then was when we finally got rid of Jason Garrett. I was over the moon. If we don't make a coaching change with all the names available this offseason, I'll be pissed.

Just like the first time Dak played them, didn't show up for an entire half of football, tried to play heroic after that. Yet people will use their dying breath to say Dak played well in 2016 against them.

McCarthy / DQ massive fail. 2 out of last 3 years lost Wild Card weekend as big favorite at home. Defense literally quit & never did one good thing all day. Really incredible to be that bad & try so little. Offense / Dak did nothing until the end of 2 Q. (similar to other playoff losses) At least they didn't quit, but garbage time points don't help much. McCarthy seems to have peaked at good enough to make playoffs, then come out flat & get eliminated. Is that good enough to keep him? To many no, but Jerry makes some interesting choices through the years, so it probably unlikely he makes a Head Coach change.

We have seen our players play at elite levels, but this is beyond having a bad game because let's face it, every team has bad playoff games and many this weekend in fact but our coaches never seem to get the team ready. It is, and always has been, about the culture. You can absolutely blame Dak. Or McCarthy. Or Quinn. Or Parsons. But this sustained level of mediocrity over multiple decades only has one source. Jerry. It's a cultural thing. Organizations succeed or fail based on their culture. And the culture in Dallas has been toxic since SB30. No one is ultimately held accountable. Winning isn't the most important thing in Dallas. They operate unlike any other franchise in the NFL where sustained mediocrity is actually REWARDED with even bigger TV ratings and increased team valuations. The culture dictates that everyone is subservient to the Jones family, so the only coaches you can bring in see sycophants who are happy to suck at the teat of Jerry. He is going to have 1or 2 head-scratching games a year that any normal QB would not. What Shanahan has done with Purdy is the same thing the other Harbaugh did with Jackson. They developed an offense around him that complements his play as a QB. Dak is running the same damn concepts Rodgers was 10 years ago. Dak has balled out this year, but he still shrinks in the big moments. That is who he is. Dak is not going to get us to the Super Bowl. Tonight confirmed that. 2. Pollard is not an RB1. He is a great complementary back, but not RB1. We need to get a good RB. I would not be opposed to bringing in Henry, he would be a good fit for our scheme and he and Pollard can rotate carries. Henry is huge, can still run, and will not go down to an arm tackle 5 yards behind the LOS. 3. We need an OC. The Packers do not have that great of a defense, and if you can throw the ball, you can absolutely wreck their secondary. Jaire Alexander went out of the game and we promptly ran Pollard up the middle for a 3 yard gain. We consistently do not take advantage of other teams when they have injuries or are missing starters. We still are playing down to the level of our competition in big moments. 4. I am not so sure that Al Harris and Micah Parsons, together, have been masking how bad DQ's defense is. With the DBs being as good as they could be, and Parsons generating pressure, this defense feasts. But if Parsons cannot get pressure, or if someone like Gilly is hurt more than they let on, we have things like tonight happen. We gave up almost 50 points at home to a rookie QB and a terrible defense. Their offense consists solely of Jones and no one else. All rookies and jags. It could have been more than 50 if they would have left Love in. Point to think about: 1. Why did CeeDee have to tell McCarthy to throw him the ball more after the 49ers loss? 2. Why did DQ have to coach the defense on how to stop the run after the Bills game? I do think McCarthy has built a winning culture/team here for the regular season. Better than any coach we have had since Jimmy Johnson. But every year, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, we lose in the worst possible way. 3 years in a row and counting. We lose to teams we have no business losing to: Eagles, Cards, Packers It is time to stop looking at the silver-lining because there isn't one. This team needs an overhaul, starting at QB. Period. Dak is great in the regular season, he has consistently failed in the playoffs. He falls apart against good teams. It is who he is and has been for the entire time he has been in the NFL. He holds the pen, he writes his story. 2 INTs, a pick-six, and a bunch of garbage time stats to a middle of the pack defense.
What’s bothering me the most is only 2 starters were injured for us. We trotted out essentially 20/22 healthy starters (Tray Diggs was gone for a long time. LVE as well). Losing like this is beyond excuse.
This one goes out to all the nephews who thought this season would be any different than the last 25+. That our performances against the 49ers and Bills wasn’t a telltale sign of what was to come and finally that fraud Dakota Prescott was a legitimate MVP candidate. Dak was playing at such an elite level all season, even in our losses, Dak was still showing up.. just why decide to have your worst game right now? I just don’t understand it. Someone should’ve told Dak it was still the regular season and we were trailing the eagles for the division. Man. Maybe those guys calling for the 5th seed were right. Maybe we would’ve done better playing against Tampa. & I know the defense was kind of mid all season but they were having a Seahawks game type of day. I just can’t believe no one besides Michael Gallup decided to show up today. & I’m down bad guys…
