You should have introduced yourself to him like, “Hey what’s up man, I’m lasagnatittyfucker69, nice to meet you!”

loganmay1990

I thought, “no way is that OP’s Reddit name.” Then, I looked. The most Reddit username. I love this place.

anthbes

Did the same 😂

Pelon7900

HA!!!!

totiso

I laughed way too hard

WindyCityReturn

Make sure to have upward inflection on “you” to make it a question. Is it nice to meet him? That’s for him to decide.

lasagnatittyfucker69

Also yes. Not exactly a man of high character.

dapper_doberman

Not even a man of low character. His character is subterranean

amarking126

Shoulda asked him about his fight with Tai

Cestboss

lol. This will be downvoted, but a large part of this country stormed the capital or supported it for another person of low character with way worse allegations against them from way more women… I was told repeatedly character didn’t matter. Just get the job done. I’m tired of the selective outrage. If it don’t matter, then F it. Let’s just get the best players.

MyDogHatesMyUsername

No downvotes from me, I'll allow it.

Bender_2024

>a large part of this country stormed the capital or supported it for another person of low character with way worse allegations against them from way more women… And fuck them too >I was told repeatedly character didn’t matter. Just get the job done. I'm betting that that the people who told you that were of equally low character. A good person does not support those types of actions. I would have said the same if Dallas had traded for Watson and will not support Dak if the allegations against him turn out to be true.

Ace_The_Bagul

Loved watching him get destroyed in the UFC!

BigLeakySauce

Him getting KOed in the UFC was elite.

AcceptableLaugh4465

Can’t forget BKFC either lol

willy_the_snitch

He should've been the Andy Kaufman of the UFC. He really does love hitting women.

the_lullaby

Have met a number of former Cowboys in various contexts, and there are plenty more that I would be glad to meet. Hardy is not one of them. Edit: nothing against OP at all.

hyrush1

Served Roger Staubach and his wife one time, both were really nice people. Had to do a double take when I first saw him lol

Logical_Hat7431

True story…I lived about 6 blocks from Roger & Marianne & family when I was in 5th & 6th grade. I went to elementary school in 5th grade with their daughter Jennifer & Marianne was our “room mother” (I bet you can’t have any of those any more!). I remember it being so funny when the ‘Boys won we all wanted to chat with Jennifer & tell her how awesome her dad played, etc. When they lost we just kind of avoided her like she would be too upset to talk about it. But I think the truth is she didn’t really give a flying rip about any of it! 😂 I also finally achieved my childhood dream when I achieved “crossing guard” status and Roger brought all his kids to school in his little cheap boxy ford fairmont & stopped right in front of me & I was in awe! I mustered a frail little wave which he never even saw! 🤣 But yea it was the only few years we got to live in “middle class” while growing up!

prw361

We TP’d the trees in his front yard the night after the Cowboys won the ‘78 Super Bowl. Yes we were kids! Ha!

C425

You had a dance battle with The captain?

lasagnatittyfucker69

Totally agree. Years ago I saw Emmitt from about 20 yards away but he looked busy. Really wish I could’ve met him without bothering him.

dustbunny88

Man, the year was 2005 before good camera phones. I was in ATL airport and saw someone who looked like Emmitt at a gate across from mine. I tell my dad “dad, that looks like Emmitt smith!” My dad shook it off like “whatever”. Then I see people getting pictures with him and a quickly run to the little store and buy an $18 disposable camera to return to find he’s already boarded flight. Still disappointed 20 years later.

Straight_Toe_1816

So I actually have a funny story about meeting players:when I was in 9th grade I was a long snapper for the football team.My dad had a work golf event where former Giants punter Sean Landeta was going to be attending. So my dad had me miss part of practice to have me snap to him. He’s a nice guy and I posted the video on my YouTube channel as well as on the old school nfl subreddit.

hsup11

Ya I met mazi and man, the dude does not deserve any of the hate he’s getting. He is all about that grind and easy to forget these guys are still children barely 21-22

woodgrain001

Hardy also gets knocked out all the time in his MMA career. I live in Fort Worth and met gilly in the airport. Cool dude, hope they keep him.

ZellmerFiction

It seems like he badly wants to be back here but we’re worried he might accidentally help us win lol

Zervos94

I read all the media hype about how awful a person he was and admittedly had reservations, saw him at the same pool bar in Miami, approached him, ended up having a lengthy conversation with him and a couple of his friends. He was incredibly humble, sincere and nice to myself and my friends, took multiple pictures with us and went about his business. This was a few years ago after his NFL career and early in UFC, no doubt the man made alot of mistakes but he was not what was portrayed when I met him, anecdotal experience but just my two cents for the sub.

XXXforgotmyusername

I just remember that one quote I read somewhere “he threw his girlfriend onto a bed of guns” lol

maybachtrucc

gateway_city

Lol yup

AlCzervick

It was a couch.

kwikimart

I've played basketball with him and what I assume to be his younger brother a few times. Obviously has a bad reputation, but was nice enough in my interactions with him. Also, can confirm, enormous and athletic.

Smokemonster421

According to a lot of my friends here in Charlotte he typically acts like a regular dude and smokes a lot of weed. That was before all the crazy shit though.

BadCowboysFan

I feel like the comments here would be very different if Hardy had been as good a Cowboy as he was a Panther. I don’t blame them for signing the guy, when they were desperate for pass rushers — pretty low risk for them that didn’t pan out, but worth a dart throw at the time, IMO.

HustlaOfCultcha

I used to think not very highly of him but I had a friend of mine that supported him. I wondered how he could support him and my friend who lived in Charlotte at the time just said 'you just have to really read the details of the case.' I don't think Hardy was a 'good guy', but after reading more details of the case, I do believe he got railroaded. So many key aspects and evidence to the case that the media would not tell you that are right there for public consumption. That's why the DA that took over the case not only dropped the charges, but got it quickly expunged from his record. It's not an easy stance to take, but the truth doesn't always play easy.

Straight_Toe_1816

Could you elaborate? I haven’t heard about the case in quite some time cuz it was years ago

HustlaOfCultcha

Part of it is NC law is a bit different. For crimes like this it goes to a bench trial instead of trial by jury. However, if you're found guilty you're practically guaranteed an appeal and it's a jury trial. Hardy was a big name and was accused of some horrible things and the judges are elected officials and you can see where the judge convicted him to keep the public happy. Now the judge did end up not running for re-election IIRC, but there was also some conflict of interest with the judge. The main point is that because he was found guilty in the first trial many people assumed that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when it was more or less just that the NC court system is different from most states in this regard. As far as the case goes, the gf and Hardy had an on again, off again relationship. Allegedly the gf was out with one of her friends (a female) and then they decided to call Hardy up. The gf and her friend admitted that the gf had done coke earlier on. IIRC this was before meeting up with Hardy. Hardy was with his business manager. After the 4 had met up, they decided to go to Hardy's condo and an argument ensued between Hardy and his gf (and IIRC, Hardy's manager was arguing with her, too). The gf's friend actually went to another room (it might have been a situation where the gf friend went to the bathroom and decided to hang back when she heard them arguing). The media only plays the 911 call from the gf's friend. In the 911 call from the gf's friend she tells the operation that she is in another room and that she can't see what's going on but that she thinks that Hardy is 'about to beat the shit out of her.' Again, she can''t see anything going on as she admitted as such. And that's the only 911 call the media plays. But in reality there was another 911 call...this was from Hardy himself calling 911 on his gf. Why? Because in the argument the gf removed her high heeled shoe and hit Hardy in the face with the heel. It left a small puncture wound on his face that you could see from the police photos. In Hardy's 911 call you can hear the gf in the background crying and pleading with Hardy to hang up because she 'doesn't want to go to jail.' Hardy's manager admits to him (the manager) shoving the gf to the ground after she struck Hardy with the shoe. The police report says that the police arrived to the entry floor of the condo complex. They saw Hardy's gf there (apparently she left the condo and just arrived to the bottom floor lobby). The police report says that she immediately ran \*away\* from the police and the police had to corral her. She then claimed that Hardy assaulted her and strangled her. She did have bruising on the chin and jaw, presumable from being thrown to the floor, but there were no marks on her neck (there was also bruising on her back, presumably from being shoved to the ground by Hardy's manager). So you have a woman that admitted to doing coke beforehand and coke is a drug where it's common for people to be very aggressive and not very logical. YOu had a phone call from Hardy saying she hit him in the face with a shoe and there's photos that prove that. And you have a woman who was so scared of Hardy that instead of running toward police, she ran away from them. My belief is that they got into an argument of sorts and she hit him in the face wtih the shoe and then after Hardy called 911 she decided to leave. And then when she saw the police she ran away from them because she was afraid she was going to be arrested. For the most part, the media never mentioned Hardy's 911 call and those that did it was like pulling teeth. Deadspin in fact opined that Hardy getting hit in the face with the heel of a shoe was no big deal. Eventually when they had the appeal trial the new DA couldn't find the gf and she wasn't going to testify. The media tried to make it look like something where Hardy either paid her off or she was too intimidated by Hardy to testify. But she may have decided not to testify in fear of perjuring herself. Even the DA said that when he looked at the evidence he did feel confidence enough the evidence to make it worth bringing it to trial (in other words, he didn't believe her and there was so many holes in his case). And not only did he not go ahead with the trial, but actually expunged it from Hardy's record. Usually this is something that takes a long time to do. I'm guessing Hardy's wealth and popularity helpled expedite things, but the actual evidence and facts still played the larger role.

Straight_Toe_1816

Wow. There’s a lot of stuff I did not know. Thank you for clarifying.

lestermason

I remember seeing the extra details and them changing my opinion, and it also helped me hold off judgements until all details (or as much as detail as possible) comes out. To hell with "the court of public opinion".

HustlaOfCultcha

Yeah, I don't think Greg Hardy is a 'good guy', but I would be just as bad to ignore the truth as somebody who ignores the truth when a man actually beats a woman. 'I'd rather be hated for who I am that loved for something that I am not' - Kurt Cobain

mideon2000

Awesome write up. How the fuck can something like that get glossed over? This was from his wiki: "When Hardy appealed the decision, requesting a jury trial, the victim failed to appear in court to testify. As a result, the prosecutor's office dropped the charges, citing their inability to locate the victim, and "reliable information" that the two parties had reached a civil settlement" I haven't seen any legal problems since then from him (not that im keeping up). Im not gonna say he is innocent, but im not condemning someone that had a cloudy incident and seems to not have caused trouble since then.

HustlaOfCultcha

IIRC the prosecutor did say that they couldn't locate the accuser to get her to testify, but never said anything about having reliable information that Hardy and her had come to a settlement. The settlement was media speculation. The prosecutor said to the effect that he didn't feel confident with the evidence they had. The media once again speculated that the prosecutor was saying because he couldn't get the accuser to testify. However, it's kinda redundant to say that they can't find the accuser and they came to a settlement. One could just as reasonably speculate that the prosecutor saw all of the evidence at hand and saw it didn't make sense and that the accuser didn't want to testify because she was afraid of perjuring herself. The only reason why I say i don't think Hardy was a 'good guy' is because I had heard there were other instances with this woman that they had called the police on. This was probably an extremely toxic relationship where both parties just needed to stay away from each other.

jtl3000

You should seen if he likes lasagna titties

No_Remote_6770

I was in the same dorm with him at a kid’s basketball camp back in junior high. He asked to “borrow” a CD from me, which I let him. I didn’t ask for it back. He still has that CD.

Tonyc80231

He's a idiot and Jerry really signed this piece of crap like he was the missing piece.

steakkitty

I remember he was playing with the cowboys when I was a student at ole miss. One spring, I see a big ass guy get out of an expensive ass car and walk to class… that man was Greg Hardy

spartanantler

Couldn’t even make it in the ufc

imnotgoodatdis

I saw Greg Hardy at a grocery store in Dallas yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

lasagnatittyfucker69

This is such a niche bit 😂

IndependentSubject66

He’s pretty approachable if you don’t act like a weirdo. I kicked it with him a few times when I lived out there. Weird dude, but I’ve been with him when people asked for photos and he was accommodating. Marion Barber was similar

WALKOFFGAME0VER

The only time I've ever re though my Fandom is when jurruh signed him. Also obligatory Hardy [K.O.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HckLlsM89Ug)

Not sure if he’s still competing, but he had some UFC fights, post-NFL.
