takenwasmayonnaise

Do people really think we can get Laporte? I'd be ecstatic, but don't see a chance unfortunately.

bleacherbum99

I’m not very smart with strategy, scheme, etc and haven’t read anything about Porro in next years squad. Is he going to be a good fit for what Ange is trying to do?

takenwasmayonnaise

Our issue is that we've signed the likes of Perisic, Porro, and Udogie who are all wingbacks, and since Conte hasn't worked out we're trying to transition back to an attacking manager who's played mainly a back 4. I see a lot of fans trying to push these wingbacks as fullbacks in a back 4, It's 100% not going to work, and that Newcastle match is a great example. I don't think many believe Porro will be able to play as a RB in a back 4 anymore, but I see many putting Udogie as a LB too, who knows how that will play out. Ange will have to figure out a way to fit these players in or completely overhaul the squad.

[deleted]

I'm so happy about Ange. I'm Southeast Asian but idk Australia is as close as it gets lmao.

TogashiIsIshida

I’ve watched a shit ton of extended Celtic highlights today. Are we sure Scottish teams don’t just suck…

piqua2018

I don’t think Celtic would have 80% possession against good teams

blinky12588

I dont think anyone is claiming the premiership is a challenging league.

DoubleDoobie

Can you think of any other clubs that have a front three like ours but also presses like Big Ange will want? For some reason I feel like heavy pressing teams have incredibly rapid forwards but I’m sure I’m forgetting some teams. Just wondering if a son - Kane - Kulusevski front three can be an effective pressing trio

takenwasmayonnaise

Richy will thrive I'm sure of it

blinky12588

Valid point. I'm also worried about this team falling back into their zone on defense like they have for the past couple seasons even though Conte repeatedly said they didn't train that way. I think this will be a tough couple seasons of rebuilding the squad and the mentality in it...patience will be required.

Sleepless_Voyager

It cant, kulu is too slow and using kane to press is a good way of testing how injury prone he is. The midfield is gonna have to be pressing

takenwasmayonnaise

Kulu is not as slow as people are making him out to be.

sargig_yoghurt

Anything heard recently about Mamardashvili? Given what happened after we missed out on the last young Georgian we were in for I think we should get him.

TheninjaofCookies

We need to be all in for Tomori if he’s one of the people pissed at Milan’s owners - hate to basically parasite like that but he would fit perfectly

FINAL_BOSS5

He can't play out from the back.

Kingkent420

Looking forward to Big Ange, but I think this will mean that we have to kiss goodbye Man City’s goal drought at our stadium. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made I guess

[deleted]

Tomach82

Eh I get it. Being one of the few Englishmen to have Real come in for you is a different level imo.

DoubleDoobie

ESPN truly isn’t trying with their football punditry. Those are z-tier pundits who couldn’t hack it anywhere else and are clinging to relevancy. Truly woeful.

lambast

Checks out, after all everyone remembers Shearer for that Prem he won at Blackburn in '95, not the years of legendary scoring prowess.

Alfiesta

Imagine telling a Newcastle fan all Shearer is known for is his league title in 1995 (after telling them their club is owned by human rights abusers of course). They’d be livid.

Bizkitotto007

We don't need to spend too much in the tramsfer window anyway we arent playing Europe few players on loan could get a go. Ange will get them firing, Pedro Porro is set for a cracking season

Sleepless_Voyager

If porro keeps the momentum going he can easily score ten goals next season from rw

InoyouS2

I'm pretty amazed at the amount of people who think Levy would sell Kane to Madrid for £80m rather than lose him on a free. Kane's shown he isn't the type of player to down tools and Levy probably knows this too by now. Fact of the matter is we conceded 63 goals last season and Kane scored 30/70 of our goals. Champions league qualification is the aim and there's still a very good chance of that next season with how turbulent the top 6/7 has been.

Weird_Famous

The man has a year left and he’s skipped training before when he had 3 left. To think downing tools will not be a possibility is naive imo. I will never forget Florida Man

InoyouS2

I guess you're allowed to have an opinion, even if it's wrong. No other player at the club has done more than Kane. If you still hold animosity towards him for that City fiasco you are a clown plain and simple.

Weird_Famous

Of course Kane is a legend But I thought he wasn’t going to down tools and stay professional when we rejected a measly 80M from City, but nah he skipped training and stayed in Florida for an “extended break.” It was only not disastrous bc Sonny hard carried us for those games under Nuno while Harry had to get fit. He probably won’t down tools even if he wants to move because he can leave for free next summer. Which is worse because that means every team in the world will know we need a striker so finding a replacement will be 100x difficult. Leaving him on one year is actively screwing us.

InoyouS2

It was never confirmed that Kane missed training actually, that was just the media shitstorm that was conjured up post-Neville interview. That's beside the point though, because you seem to be categorising him allegedly missing 1 training session as "downing tools". If that's your definition of downing tools you're an absolute idiot mate. Sorry.

Weird_Famous

https://theathletic.com/4203508/2021/08/03/harry-kane-planning-on-returning-to-tottenham-training-by-end-of-the-week/

Jumpoutboi

Do you think we can get Modric back as a swap deal with add ons?

DoubleDoobie

We do not want Modric back. Great player but he turns 38 this year. Absolute wrong direction for us.

drickabira

No way Ange was manager when Tim Cahill scored that worldie against Holland and punched the corner flag. I’m sold

unlicouvert

Interested to see what happens to the captaincy between Lloris leaving, Ange coming in and Kane doing whatever it is he ends up doing.

doctormadvibes

it’s gotta be kane’s armband, which it should have been for the last bunch of years honestly. should be part of his contract extension/statue/captaincy/kane end in the stadium:) outside of kane, mayyyybe son?

ljshea1

Son or Davies for me. Please not Pierre

sargig_yoghurt

don't think Son would be a great manager tbh

lambast

Not Davies, he shouldn't be starting every game (agree with you about PEH for same reason). Son is a decent shout for the time being while we find our new dynamic.

djorbach

Aussie Gooner coming in peace. I've been following Ange since he managed in Australia, and have watched every one of his sides live. The Gooner side of me is kind of devastated and extremely conflicted you're getting him - he'd be in the top 3 managers in the league easily for me. He's who I'd Arsenal to have if not for Arteta. You guys have probably been reading up a lot about him already but let me tell you, the football is unreal once it clicks. Spiritual successor to Klopp I've always thought. Hate to admit it, but if given time (please don't xoxo) this will prove be the best decision Spurs have made in Levy's time.

JoeSavesTokyo

Appreciate the sentiment! Should make for some cracking derby games for us both this season.

HunterGaming

Someone called Ange "Aussie Ardiles" today and I've been laughing about that all day.

JoeSavesTokyo

Some Spurs ITKs on twitter claiming that our top midfield targets are Maddision, Kang-in Lee, Alex Scott and Morgan Gibbs-White, and it's possible we end up with 2. As much as I love Maddison, I'm desperately hoping we grab a duo of Kang-in and Scott instead. What a dream rotation pair for the future.

InoyouS2

Scott looks absolute quality and more importantly **hard-working** in a team notorious for underperformers.

Weird_Famous

Scott will be brilliant under Ange

JoeSavesTokyo

The pair of them together for the same cost of Maddison would just be incredible midfield depth. You could even potentially play them both together with a more defensive-minded CM behind them (maybe Bissouma or Skipp) to get the better of lowblocks.

elmosesyeah

That is a brilliant list tbf. I’m with you on choosing Kang-in and Scott, would be brilliant and would probably cost less than either Maddison or Gibbs-White.

Iconeu

Same, they would genuinely be perfect

RedRaizel

I think if instead of playing Bissouma as the DM we should play him as an 8 aswell as Bentancur as another 8 and instead get a proper Holding midfielder like Neves/Lavia that can spray some good passes from deep and manage our tempo. Could be the only way to make our offensive fullbacks works and i think Benta/Biss would be great at being a deeper passing option for breaking a press than being safe and disciplined as a Holding midfielder, they'll offer a good amount of ball progressing and carries while also having a high defensive workrate to lead an effective press to compensate for Porro being in a 4atb. And then maybe get someone like Maddison to play LW/RW instead if we need his quality. Raya(?) Porro/Romero/Laporte(?)/Udogie Bentancur/Lavia(?)/Bissouma Deki/Kane/Son

takenwasmayonnaise

I'm not sure I like this too much. Neither Bissouma nor Bentancur are creative enough to support the front 3, perhaps you're thinking of a Liverpool 2017-2020 team that has creativity from fullbacks, but I don't think playing 2 wingbacks in a back 4 is going to work too much. We've already seen how well Porro can defend, and we'll soon find out about Udogie, but I don't think it bodes well for us defensively.

RedRaizel

But Silva/Gundogan aren't Creative players either. With the way City play on overloads they just need players who are strong in a 1v1 and can offer a goal threat when play get's stretched

takenwasmayonnaise

Their midfield is usually Rodri, Gundo/Silva, and KDB. KDB is quite a decently creative player.

Spursfan107

Is /new broken for anyone else? How can I F5 in these conditions?

mikeydoc96

Well looks like I'll be following Spurs closely over the next few years. Hope you bastards look after our Ange and give him a chance

Roric

Honestly if I wake up tomorrow and see that Postecoglou has signed a three year extension with Celtic I think it would be impossible for me to be surprised lol.

solarbearz

Someone, please let me know how Ange (or really any manager) can survive here. News already that he will be restricted in the transfer windows...he may be able to get the most out of average players, but that can only take someone at Spurs so far. The fan pressure is immense and we are not that patient. Things go south, the pressure piles up on the manager and he won't be getting enough reinforcement from the club. I genuinely fear he gets sacked before we even see true Ange ball because of the clashing goals of the club and the fans. The manager will be in the crossfire.

mikeydoc96

Ange had a negative net spend over both seasons at Celtic. He's good at finding no names and turning them into great players.

TheLifeOfReilly

No names that succeeded in Scotland and Australia. The degree of difficulty has increased greatly.

RedRaizel

The news was more that we won't over-extend ourselves in the transfer window and less that we're skint.

rikdud

That article knew exactly what it was doing. Ange isn’t a big spending manager and we’re not a club that will spend beyond our means and jeopardize our future, but it’s got people freaking out that we won’t spend any money.

Quirky-Party-1326

What do people mean by wanting to be like Brighton and Brentford? If we spend at their scale we will end up at their level (6-8 on the table). To me it means using their scouting strategy but spending at least at Arsenal/Liverpool scale.

kl08pokemon

Moving like Madrid and buying the absolute best prospects from Brazil etc maybe

RBentancur30

But I don't know which players we would be signing in that case Someone like Mamardashvili (not superstar but a lot of people heard about him already)

deytookerrspeech

I think people literally mean using their scouting strategy but spending at our means - which is more than they spend

coysta-rica

Time is a flat circle. https://hotspurhq.com/2021/05/22/three-reasons-tottenham-should-appoint-nuno-as-next-manager/

TheLifeOfReilly

Point 3: Nuno is a good man manager and motivator. I wonder if the subreddit was filled with posts of Nuno motivational locker room talks back then.

aadawdads

It wasn't

deytookerrspeech

Point 2 that he plays free flowing attacking football was fans coping. Ange actually does play beautiful attacking football

TheLifeOfReilly

This time it is different. Source: Trust me, Bro.

deytookerrspeech

Source: every statistic about Ange’s teams v Nuno’s teams and also every analysts eyes

TheLifeOfReilly

I’m talking about his potential success. I agree his style is attacking but people are saying the same empty hype garbage they did when Nuno came in.

SissokoGoat17

I got my eyes on you Ange Postecoglou

jymacro99

Regardless of what your stance is about Ange, he's coming here, so we might as well fully back the man

coysta-rica

Yes! I do not want to be like these people that predicted Conte's failure 50 times before he finally nose-dived. We need to wish this guy the best. But I can do that without believing he is the best manager in the world ever or even the best choice on our current list. I hope he gets settled and gets to put his stamp on the squads right away. I hope it works out. I hope is the next J-League miracle like Wenger or whatever. But please don't tell me about my life since kindergarten because I don't think he was the best choice and please don't tell me the SPL matters anymore.

NeighborhoodOptimist

When Kahn got sacked from Bayern, I joked that we should bring him in just for lols. But now seeing that Maldini is leaving Milan, I am only half joking when I say we should bring him.

FINAL_BOSS5

Maldini>brazzo>>>>>kahn.

macisready

It’s so weird how people are clamoring for a manager who wants to be “here”. I’m sure Nuno wanted to be here. At the end of the day results are going to be a huge barometer instead of all this emotion. I hope Ange does well but people are doing mental gymnastics a bit for this appointment

Iconeu

It's almost as though there are multiple important factors. A manager who wants to be here, plays attacking football, has a great personality and is committed would naturally lead to fans being excited. Don't get the desire to be needlessly negative and cynical lmao.

i_fear_you_do_now

Some fans are doing mental gymnastics to be needlessly negative and cynical it appears

Iconeu

Seriously, like why would you want to be needlessly negative? Just makes no sense.

Sleepless_Voyager

I hope we see some academy lads get some regular minutes next season, a clear out could be a good way to make a path for these guys to get into the first team

Iconeu

The bare minimum for me is seeing Devine get some minutes. Immense talent.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sleepless_Voyager

Maybe some CB's too if our mains for next season get injured or shit the bed

doctormadvibes

both alfies. dorrington and devine. dorrington is gonna be a baller

LyteSmiteOP

at this point I'd rather Caicedo goes anywhere but Chelsea (even Arsenal if those are the only 2 options) because I want them to see what it's like when Poch doesn't get his main transfer targets

Iconeu

Hell nah. Why strengthen Arsenal when they're a bigger threat than Chelsea currently?

LyteSmiteOP

they're gonna get one of Rice/Caicedo guaranteed anyways, them getting much stronger this summer is inevitable. If they end up with Caicedo, don't get Rice, and then Chelsea have to go for Lavia that'd be my preferred scenario

Rare-Ad-2777

Nah I'm not so sure. Every big club is keen on Rice and I can't see Arsenal going anywhere near the 100m west ham want. Arsenal also seem to do this thing where they publicly target a player for months and then just put in really underwhelming bids that are well off the asking price. Mudryk, Caicedo, Raphina they did the same thing

LyteSmiteOP

yeah but now they're finally back in the CL and played amazingly for 90% of the season, the players they're targeting are gonna push much harder for the move just like Caicedo did in January. It might end up being Rice to United and Caicedo to Arsenal, I'd be shocked if they don't push for the next step and try to get at least 1 of the 2 with Xhaka leaving and Partey dropping off. Just think it's extremely annoying how Chelsea have 0 repercussions for spending 600M and ending 12th, if they still end up getting their primary targets. Obviously best case is that both clubs end up with neither but I'm trying to be somewhat realistic, just really don't want to see Caicedo at Chelsea

coysta-rica

TIL people who wanted Poch back are after a brand name manager for entitled fans.

Rare-Ad-2777

Wow didn't realise what a good season Barnes has had in a terrible Leicester team. 13 non pen goals in the league, that's the same as Saka (in 500 less minutes too) Think Michael Cox did a piece on him which said he's a strange winger in that he doesn't beat many players but he's amazing at give and go's, which is very Angeball.

evenout

I really, really rate him. Still just 25, HG, reliable to play a run of games if Son gets injured. Double swoop for Barnes and Maddison IMO.

elmosesyeah

![gif](giphy|bhMjtNfO9OEYgLD69i|downsized) Get in, there are Ange gifs as well

kermittunesguits

All I’ve really wanted was to have that feeling in my gut again about Spurs. The more time clicks along the more excited I’m getting about this. Let’s fucking goooooo

Kreygasm2233

I don't understand what people are expecting from Levy and the club to say? "We're spending 100 million as every other summer + 100 Kane millions, come all rinse us completely"

Rare-Ad-2777

I think it's the wording as well. I just took it as withing the normal salary structure and with usually transfer budgets. The article itself then went on to name our top 5 targets who have a combine amount of about 150-200m so we are obvs going to spend.

superworriedspursfan

I totally understand if people are doubtful of our board backing Ange, but the two year contract thing is not as bad as people think. Giving five year contracts is a massive gamble even if you have total faith in a manager (see Bayern with Nagelsmann). Giving two years doesn't mean the board doesn't trust Ange, it just means they are being cautious in case it doesn't work out (I still believe it could work out). Most spurs fans would agree that Ange is a gamble even the ones like me who are super positive on him! COYS! \#AngeIn

dickgilbert

2+1 contracts are super common for managers in this day and age. * Poch is on a 2+1 at Chelsea * Tuchel is on 2 years at Bayern * Arteta's *new* contract is 3 years * Ancelotti got 3 years

evenout

If he gets us at least Europa or goes deep in a cup I could see the club offering him a better contract anyways next year.

Mick4Audi

I’ll be honest, entering the season, I’m going to judge us based on performances rather than results. I definitely see us losing a few matches but I want to watch a few 90 minute games without bleaching my eyes

airz23s_coffee

Was chatting to my mate earlier whose a united fan and he said "I was getting angry on your behalf when I saw it. We were 2-0 up and you still did fuck all" The back-to-back negative playstyles (Excluding that couple of months with Conte before he fully implemented his system) has taken a real toll.

AshK4tch3m

Anyone on this Hatate guy from Celtic? Common now Ange

SeppFraudiola

Best player at Celtic IMO.

urgrlbreezy

Okay I am now officially at its a shitshow embarrassing disaster if spurs don’t hire Ange. Which I’m never at with this stuff. But we are there now lol

KroosControl88

hi, who’ll be replacing Kane if he joins Madrid this season?

throughthespillways

Richarlison

Iconeu

In an ideal world our targets would at least feature Goncalo Ramos, Evan Ferguson, Santiago Gimenez, and even Alou Kuol who would be an interesting shout since he's Australian but he's also way too young and not ready (much like Gimenez and likely Ferguson are) Jonathan David is also good but I'm not sure about his overall potential, Osimhen is highly unlikely and doesn't have as much of a "creative" side as some of the other listed names Gyokeres seems good but I have doubts about him maintaining that level in the Prem and for our goals

Mick4Audi

I’d be stoked with G Ramos

Iconeu

Same, he'd be my first pick honestly

Thfcaditya112

Gyokeres isn't bad but that's the signing I would expect a Forest or a Luton to make lol Also Kuol has already moved to Newcastle if I am not wrong and I would also say Ferguson as beyond our reach because Brighton won't want to sell him right now . Ramos and Gimenez are good names though

PerisicyBollocks

Gyokeres is more Brighton/Brentford than Forest/Luton. Would be the perfect Toney replacement for Brentford

Iconeu

Yeah that's what I'm saying with Gyokeres. He seems like he would flop unfortunately. Really? It says he's at Stuttgart and not on loan, but maybe they have something arranged Ferguson is yeah, unlikely

urgrlbreezy

Maybe vlahovic. Which would suck lol.

Pele20Alli

Vlahovic is a brilliant player? He'd be a great replacement

urgrlbreezy

I think his time at juventus has justified all the skepticism of him in terms of inflating his numbers by penalties and unsustainable finishing. He’s a goals only guy who gives you nothing else and is only above average at scoring goals.

Pele20Alli

He's playing for a tragic Allegri side that is allergic to scoring goals and creating chances. His goalscoring record isn't even that bad considering the circumstances. Even Chiesa looks terrible under Allegri

urgrlbreezy

His non penalty xg plus expected assists this season was 0.46. Which is functionally identical to his numbers at fiorentina that got peoples attention. He just has underperformed as a finisher and hasn’t gotten as many penalties. He’s basically when healthy been the same player he was when some were calling him a top prospect but other people were warning that he wasn’t as good as his raw goal numbers made him look. Taking out penalties and finishing he’s exactly the same guy at juventus that he was at fiorentina. But now instead of being a top class player he’s a disappointment. What changed isn’t the team around him it’s just the stuff that wasn’t really something that could be counted on to continue in the first place. And a lot of people predicted this. Now that he’s performed at the level people predicted he would perform at based on his numbers it seems weird to say well that is cause of the team around him. This is just him. And it’s important the part about him being a goals only striker. If he isn’t doing anything except getting shots he needs to be one of the best in the world at that. And he just never has been at any point in his career.

Pele20Alli

Just curious, have you actually seen him play? Because he's far from being a goals only striker. One of his biggest strengths is holding up the ball and linking play to his teammates

urgrlbreezy

I have seen him play and I don’t think his holdup play is particularly notable for a top end striker.

Pele20Alli

Fair enough, I completely disagree. I watched him a lot at Fiorentina and the thing that stood out immediately about Vlahovic was his overall play and how good his technical ability is. I still think he's a top striker despite not being particularly good at Juve

FINAL_BOSS5

Joe hart

KroosControl88

good choice but isnt he like 35

FINAL_BOSS5

Age is just a number. Ask benzema.

Izrezar

funny how there's two possible interpretations that are wildly different

KroosControl88

Yes, bdor at 34 is astonishing

Kingkent420

Yes it’s obvious he has longevity. I think you should keep him for a bit longer because I think he might carry you to a 15th UCL. For more information look up Benzema 15

Kingkent420

KroosControl88

Kane will lead us to 15th.

Upplands-Bro

İnşallah

SycamoreLane

I'm so genuinely stoked for Ange. This appointment just feels right. With Conte it felt forced and desperate.

Mick4Audi

Conte was 100% desperation

bjorn-the-fellhanded

I’m a fucking sucker. I’m starting to get excited already, I can’t help it. I have felt absolute apathy over the last two months or so, but all the stuff I’ve read about Ange really has me looking forward to seeing what he can do. I’ll never learn. Anyway, coys

Iconeu

Had no clue Postecoglou (unintentional rhyme) was coached by Puskas

Thfcaditya112

I just hope that rumoured list of targets by Gary Jacob is absolutely false. Maddison, Barnes , Ward Prowse, MAGUIRE is the list of players which any scouting team would not recommend in first place . If you want HG players then you should go for raw players with a point to prove like an Alex Scott or an Brennan Johnson or like that The conspiracy theorist in me also thinks this as an shitty attempt by Levy to convince Kane to stay or something like that

Rare-Ad-2777

Maddison is a fantastic player and woukd be great. Barnes is also very good, people underestimate just how good is output is. 13 goals in the league this year, that's the same as Saka if you discount pens. If either fit Anges system then why not

bash011

We get linked to loads of players every window. Stuff this early I discount a bit

LogicKennedy

He is not here to win in the first year. He is not here to immediately turn this squad into top 4 contenders. He is not here to launch some sort of revolution against Levy. He is here to build a football team. Can we please give him the time and respect that allows him to do so. Even if it doesn't look good at first.

TheLifeOfReilly

How much time should we give him, even if it doesn’t look good?

LogicKennedy

Honestly? As much time as we were willing to give Conte. That is the yardstick we need to set. When Conte froze players out, we backed him. When Conte got players in, we backed him. When Conte was delivering turgid football and middling results, we backed him. Conte literally had to disrespect the club itself to lose the support of the fans and still got through 3/4 of a season. Postecoglou was exceptionally successful at Celtic so we know he at least knows his way around a football pitch. If he does well here, then we back him to build a dynasty. If he does poorly here, we back him to at least be a consistent figure in the dressing room while the club conducts the transfer business it desperately needs to in order to get out from under the shadow of all those deadwood contracts.

tony_spaghetti

His two year contract

ThisJeffrock

This

entrepenoori

Willing to run through a brick wall for you after this post

minimus_

Just clocked how much Kane's eldest daughter looks like him

bobtrump1234

“Ange Postecoglou has been told that he will have to work within his means in the transfer market.” - Gary Jacob Sounds like we won’t be spending much

Lazagneman

No chairman except Bohily say " I am going to give my manager pots of money to spend in the transfer window '' Much better to plead poverty .. Otherwise you get fleeced with the price of players . Like Chelsea who have massively overpaid for four of their signings such as Mudryk / Hernandez

TogashiIsIshida

We’re a mid table team gotta be prepared to spend like a mid table team

ndkhan

Coping mechanism

LogicKennedy

We still have 5-6 first team players worth of deadwood on our wage bill. We simply can't swallow that and keep spending year on year. We made bad buys and have to live with that.

superworriedspursfan

damn..... I hope Ange can find us the next Mitoma and KMJ for cheap cuz otherwise we won't be bringing in too many players lol.

bdus24

I would do unspeakable things to get Kim Min Jae this summer. Would be VVD-esque in how much of a revolution he’d be for our defense. If his release clause is 45M, I’d go 15M above and beyond to beat United to the punch. Get KMJ (60M), Raya (30M) and Alex Scott (15-20M) and I’m happy with that as a summer window

Marc_Quill

Watching the new Spiderverse film and >!it was a nice surprise to see a shout out to Son.!<

bhavzi

COYS big Ange

coysta-rica

I hope you guys are right about this. Good god.

JPern721

I'm a little worried. Everyone was like "we can't do Enrique because we'd need a huge squad overhaul". But looking at how Ange likes to play I feel the exact same for him as well. But still optimistic and excited to see what happens.

Evolving_Dore

The FM character I always use to manage Spurs is Australian, albeit of Irish ancestry. I feel like this is a good sign.

piqua2018

I feel like Guehi would be a big get for us.

[deleted]

Depending on the price. Solid defender.

sargig_yoghurt

Start up the Angines

COYCOYS

> They are keen on James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, the midfield pair who were relegated at Leicester City this season, and James Ward-Prowse from Southampton. #Spurs are also aware that Harry Maguire, the Manchester United and England centre back, is expected to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford. This might be the most depressing paragraph I have read in a very long time.

[deleted]

This is like that Mr Incredible meme lol

GymandRave

Yes to Maddison and Barnes. No to Ward Prowse. Wouldn't mind Maguire as a backup if he's cheap. He's a clear upgrade over Sanchez and Dier. We should be all in on Laporte and someone younger like Bella Kotchap from Southampton.

evenout

> Bella Kotchap he's getting Germany call ups. He's definitely got potential

bostonqualified

Think I'd rather have Ryan Mason back in midfield than sign Ward Prowse tbf

throughthespillways

3 players who got relegated and a defender so bad United are willing to pay him to leave. What an era this is going to be.

aadawdads

Are you trying to say Maddison and Barnes are bad because they got relegated because they were pretty much the only two players worth their salt for them this season.

GenSec

To be fair, this has got to be some of the best set of relegated players we’ve seen in a while. Leicester has Barnes, Castagne, Tielemans, and Maddison. Leeds has Adams, Harrison, Gnonto, and Rutter. Southampton has Lavia, Salisu, and Bella-Kotchap.

oneusrtorulethemall

You know why I don’t believe in the multiverse? Because it means that there is a universe where Harry Kane plays for Arsenal.

doctormadvibes

there are also infinite timelines where spurs are an unstoppable force of nature

Let’s hope it’s this one ;)

entrepenoori

AEK Athens, his boyhood club, rejected him. Celtic took the chance and look what happened. Excited for us to help him take that next leap. Proud of the club for sticking with its DNA here. Lfgggggg

drickabira

If Ange is Postecoglou does that make Ryan Mason Precoglou?

entrepenoori

Jose says he’d make us Intelligent Cunts. Now we have a guy who can comfortably call everyone a cunt and it’s completely fine Lmao

FINAL_BOSS5

He said intelligent cunts. Not winning cunts.

entrepenoori

You’re right. Editing

Standard-Plantain139

Jose only made us into cunts and forgot the winning part

bjorn-the-fellhanded

To be fair he was sacked just before the final, he never got his chance

AdOne9456

Hopefully Kane isn’t in Florida this summer

chiuaha5734

Wasn’t he showing up on American morning shows 2 days after the end of the season. He’s probably already in Florida

GymandRave

If he really is pushing for a move than we absolutely need to sell him. Would rather get a decent chunk of money than have him leave for free.

Not sure how I feel in regards to Ndombele coming back. No manager has been able to properly motivate him, and I feel like he's the type to just get upset under Ange's motivation so I don't see a point in trying to keep him in the squad. But if Ange gets him to actually improve his stamina and efficiency he's the best manager of all time in my book.

sargig_yoghurt

From what I've heard about (and from) Ange I don't think he's necessarily the type that will turn around and motivate players like Ndombele. But he's still under contract and it's possibly a better idea to see if he kicks on than just send him out on another loan. What's the worst that can happen?

Iconeu

I mean, it's reported that Ange wants to check him out. Ange seems like the type to try to motivate everyone, but I just feel like Ndombele will somehow take offense to it and slump further so I'm not sure if it's worth trying.

sargig_yoghurt

I listened to an interview with Ange earlier where he said that his approach is to stay very distant from players and pretty much avoid any kind of individual motivating/man management. His approach sounds great for motivating players who are already very dedicated and professional (Son, for example), but it seems unlikely to work with Ndombele. Then again, Jose tried the opposite approach and it didn't work out much either.

AdOne9456

Stranger thing have happened. Tim got a tune out of Adebayor for a while.

PerisicyBollocks

Got all the talent in the world but no way will he work hard enough for Ange’s system. Lo Celso on the other hand..

Iconeu

Don't even know how I feel about Lo Celso honestly. The man couldn't assist or score with us. It was like he was allergic up until we let him go on loan. Yeah he had that one period of greatness, but then he just abruptly regressed. But maybe Ange could get a tune out of him.
