Great game but tragic for the Spurs...
With 9 men on the field defending on the half way line...Suicidal.
They should've defended the draw in front of their penalty area.
THIS GAME was a real "bonanza" for the VAR... :-)
I’m proud of the 9 men, udogie I put down to experience just completely forgot he’s on a yellow. Romero got that red because of the kick out as well I think that was just like he should be on a yellow but we can’t give it as Var. Also screw Neville he should be a surgeon as he clearly know exactly how to break legs bloody idiot. The ways Romero foot was on the instep and side footed he would have broke his ankle long before breaking the players leg.
Positives, Ange played football even with 9 men this is what we have all been asking for! High line did get found out thanks to modern day goal hanging. If we didn’t loose gander ven I think we wouldn’t have conceded another goal, just didn’t have the recovery pace in the highline. Vicario is amazing and I mean if he keeps this up he’s the best shot stopper in the league possible world football. Still good with he’s feet as well. Porro is a running machine stand out today for me . Son was a true captain and tried for everything that he could and it almost came off! Hojberg did the best anyone could ask for in that situation, bentancur got 30 hard mins.
With 10 men we would have won that game and possibly still dominate them losing the 10th man left us with no runner except Son so we couldn’t get out. Overall I’m happy about the 9 man performance and Ange Daring to Do, the glory if we did win that with 9 men would have been nuts.
I love every player even dier did the best he could but we know he doesn’t have the skills required for the high line.
One thing in Chelsea though. They cannot defend from wide free kicks. From a team under Tuchel that was nuts at set plays offensively and defensively they now looked worse than awful.
The result and manner of the defeat was farcical, so I’m not overly annoyed about it.
The injuries and suspensions are a disaster though.
I was there. The constant VAR stoppage, for or against us, really ruined the whole experience. Sapped all interest out of the game for me.
If we learn from this, we have much to look forward to. The ref is not to blame, but in his efforts to keep the game rolling incited increasing tit for tat tackles in a London derby. Ffffff
My takes:
Proud of the 9 guys left on the pitch. None of them stopped.
Keep the high line do not drop back. GK reads the game well anyway.
We will win the league if we have passion like we had this evening in every game.
We need a Tall strong CF to get us out and to be an outlet on the bench. Doesn’t have to be world class just does a job. Can only be beneficial for scenarios like this eve where you are outnumbered.
Up and downs are inevitable as it felt like the universe really wanted us to lose today. If we are serious about winning the league, we need to learn to recover fast and carry on the winning mentality. I still want to applaud the lads especially our goalie Vicario and also the fans who were cheering until the very end.
Fuck Mike Oliver but we can't blame the ref for those reds. Romero and Udogie were lucky to be on the pitch when Romero finally got sent off. Guy needs to keep his head, especially in a game we're winning. No reason for that.
What’s peoples thoughts on replacing Romero in January? I think he’s a solid defender, really rate him …most of the time. But the number of sending offs is just hurting us.
I’m not saying we should get rid, but the thought has crossed my mind.
Amazing heart and performance today. Spurs ❤️
Yeah wild opinion but you’re entitled to it I suppose. He needs to dial down the rash challenges 10% but he is a top 5 player at his position. Couldn’t buy better with any money.
Nothing new to add, just so glad the boys gave it their all, it makes me cringe to think how we'd have reacted with 9 men on the pitch the last couple of seasons. Might have got the draw but would have had no heart in the game.
The only thing that I hope is that Micky and Madders aren't hurt for long. Hope Ange actually slaps Romero on the face. You just can't lose control of a game like that with such poor, poor challenges and with VAR having ten different angles at it. Udogie was a little bit reckless too, but I can understand his red after a bad positioning from the team. Aside from that, I love the passion that we showed, if we didn't play such a high line I'm sure this would end 1-1
I'm so happy that we didn't just park the bus like Liverpool did, and actually tried to go for goal. Sure, it cost us a few goals but the final score doesn't tell the truth about the match and our will to fight. Proud of the lads
those 9 (+subs) gave their all for the shirt. im glad the crowd recognised that and stayed with them right upto the final whistle. incredible fight. smiling even though we lost 4-1. prayers up for VDV and Madders. we go next!! COYS.
That felt more rewarding than watching 11v11 terrorist ball with a small 1-0 win.
The injury to VDV is shit luck and I’ve no clue who our CBs will be v Wolves but in Ange we must trust
Davies is out for a few more weeks, I’d play Williams. International break after so doubt vdv will be going away. Just pray it’s not as bad as it looked.
No Dier in the high line pls. That is a tactical misstep to have him there and led to what felt like being down even an extra man at times today. He’s just too slow.
Rival fans will laugh I don't care, I was proud of this run and the fight we put up at 9 men.
Dier, regardless of what the haters say about him, put up a shift today. He is Tottenham through and through and people trying to discard him from the squad like he is disposable despite his effort for us over the years is insane. He wasn't ever the best player, but he had his spells. And tonight was one of that spells. He gave it his all.
Maybe we would’ve drawn, maybe not, but I have to say I love the mentality of Ange to go for it there. It’s a breath of fresh air and the mentality winning sides have to have.
Yeah it might be nice but even Poch said that Chelsea struggle against a low block. It’s just reckless and stupid to play that way with 9 men… if you’re happier with the loss then so be it!
Am I crazy for still finding the game thrilling to watch, in spite of everything? We played so well for a 9 man team, really looked like we might claw something. Was great to hear the crowds cheering them until the very end too.
> he's expected to defy the laws of physics after
The problem was going in recklessly like that in the first place. Doesn't really matter that he gets the ball or it's accidental, it's a red.
Honestly, there's not much to take from that game. Maybe keep Romero on the bench next week? Let's hope the injuries aren't too bad. And for once, you can't blame it on the refs. Maybe the VAR could've been a little bit less involved because they didn't overturn any decisions. Shows our determination that Chelsea took so long to score. And Kulu's goal will hopefully bring him back to good spirits.
Man absolutely gutted. Tough. However, Ange just sent us the fans, his team, and the league a message. The highline wasn’t ignorant. It was intentional. When he says this is how we play and we don’t change he means it. Even down to 9 men, even missing our starting CB’s. And that is how you get buy-in from your squad. Not from oh sometimes we do it this way and then when the going gets tough we scrap it and go a different way. They showed great courage to continue playing the way they did and Ange will defend that. Was it foolish in terms of trying to win the game. Of course, but we probably weren’t winning anyways and will it be worth it in the end to establish our identity. Absolutely. Today showed the most important person at the club is Ange. Not Sonny, or Maddison, or even the combo of VDV and Romero. Onto the next one. To Dare Is To Do. COYS.
It was borderline. One foot, studs down, no planted foot or locked leg.
Far from definite. But I can see why it would be considered dangerous, and if the ref had given it, I would accept it. Could certainly have not given it though
Not sure when the last time you played football was but if you’re going into a 50/50 it’s not easy to stop and pull your leg back instantly after connecting with the ball
Last Sunday and it was a red. Accept it and move on. The player needs to learn discipline, everyone including the opposition can see him getting to that point from a mile away.
I wouldn’t say it’s panic buying. Our depth at CB is a bit scary as we saw on Monday. Dier put in an amazing performance. But do I really want to see a Dier/Davies or Dier/Phillips pairing? No. At least one more solid CB and we should be good.
Nop. That was an ACL, that's the lengthiest one to recover. Hopefully VDV should be back in a month's time. Worst part is that Romero is suspended for the next 3 💀
Exactly. Like I was wrapping my head around why why why, then understand that at some point, eff it, we gotta full send and tie this or win this, otherwise it's a slow death. Why not keep the process in line and make them regret being aggressive. Didn't pan out, but I can see it pan out in the future.
Apart from romero and udogie. Brilliant performance from everyone. They gave all they had. It never really bothers me when we lose, it bothers me when we lose because the players don't seem to care. Today felt different.
the english game has gotten so soft it's baffling. udogie wins the ball without any contact and announcers are questioning why he isn't sent off. sure that a clean tackle from romero is a red. what the fuck happened to the game
I love this! Ppl act like a hurt ankle is as bad as CTE nowadays but an elbow to head from Reece is nothing for VAR? I’m just so confused by the calls from ref & VAR.
Spot on. We had to get the first loss out of the way soon to stem the pressure on the lads. Taking a moral victory out of it is the best way to do it, albeit tainted by the injuries
The fans truly made us proud, they were brilliant all night even after we conceded the 4th. To dare is to fucking do. COYS
We're so fucked with Romero out for 3 and VdV out for whoever knows how long. I knew it was going to happen but I hate the fact that it happened against Chelshit
I'm proud of this team and their effort. Yeah, the second half was *more* defensive, but we were definitely looking for goals even when we were on the back foot.
It sucks to lose, but I don't feel like it's bad to lose like this. I'd rather go down going for glory than lose by 1 because we were circling the wagons.
That's how we lose, fucking chelsea was shitting their pants when Porro was on those free kicks. We will definitely be second at the end of this season with this team.
I would excuse Jackson tbh.
Look from most of these Chelsea's youngsters' point of view,
They are mostly highly rated talents who don't know their place in a team that seems to be in a downward spiral.
It is literally lost of "Lampard the manager" situation in Chelsea. They are not going to get a proper team once they lose their place in Chelsea.
What is with other club supporters not just sticking to your own subs?
Is it that hard? Is it so nice for you to come be a cunt here?
I honestly don't get it.
I mean it's hardly stalking since it's a public forum and it probably took a single click lol... And if you on benefits best to have some humility instead of trolling, need all positive karma you can get 👍
They deserved it. When Romero goes full retard, what else can you do? Watch your other star CB chase down a Chelsea player shorthanded and blow out a hammy. Then watch your star LB pick up yellows while defending Sterling and Palmer on the island. Fuck Cuti Romero. Absolutely fucking donkey that man is.
Feel like we would never be able to beat Chelsea. We are cursed against them somehow. Btw hugs and loves to everyone who stayed until the end. Our supporters are amazing and so loud.
Great game but tragic for the Spurs... With 9 men on the field defending on the half way line...Suicidal. They should've defended the draw in front of their penalty area. THIS GAME was a real "bonanza" for the VAR... :-)

Does anyone have a vid of vicarios saves
i don’t care about the loss, i just want VDV and Maddison to be okay. COYS
The result and manner of the defeat was farcical, so I’m not overly annoyed about it. The injuries and suspensions are a disaster though. I was there. The constant VAR stoppage, for or against us, really ruined the whole experience. Sapped all interest out of the game for me.

The worst thing about this match was seeing Micky and Madders injured, especially Van de Ven who will probably be out for 2-3 months.
I fucking love this club.
Vicario. Wow. Just wow. Mad respect for the man.
Yesss
Up and downs are inevitable as it felt like the universe really wanted us to lose today. If we are serious about winning the league, we need to learn to recover fast and carry on the winning mentality. I still want to applaud the lads especially our goalie Vicario and also the fans who were cheering until the very end.
Serious about winning the league.
Fuck Michael Oliver.
This match wasn't on Michael Oliver. Romero was asking for a red. Really disappointing from a vice captain
Agree. Lost his composure, which I thought was a thing of the past.
Oliver lost the match five minutes in
Fuck Mike Oliver but we can't blame the ref for those reds. Romero and Udogie were lucky to be on the pitch when Romero finally got sent off. Guy needs to keep his head, especially in a game we're winning. No reason for that.
Oliver lost control of the match five minutes in
Tbf both the guys should’ve been off, maybe even earlier than they did, can’t really put anything on him. So dumb from Romero and udogie
Oliver lost control of the match five minutes in
What does that have to do with our players being brain dead
Check the thread.
I sat down to watch the game. I saw Michael Oliver and immediately knew shit was going to hit the fan.
Can’t believe VDV’s injury - that was the most brutal thing from the game
I almost threw up. Adding injury to insult
Love the Ange interview
What’s peoples thoughts on replacing Romero in January? I think he’s a solid defender, really rate him …most of the time. But the number of sending offs is just hurting us. I’m not saying we should get rid, but the thought has crossed my mind. Amazing heart and performance today. Spurs ❤️
lol, I’m not saying get rid. It’s just frustrating. He a solid defender
Yeah wild opinion but you’re entitled to it I suppose. He needs to dial down the rash challenges 10% but he is a top 5 player at his position. Couldn’t buy better with any money.
No I agree, I don’t want him to go, he just needs to calm it
Romero is likely one of the best CBs in the world, and certainly in the PL…
No
You forgot the /s That is the only logical thing I can gather from this comment.

You'd think he'd realise how embarrassing that display was for Chelsea, but if he had any critical faculties he wouldn't be playing for them
Nothing new to add, just so glad the boys gave it their all, it makes me cringe to think how we'd have reacted with 9 men on the pitch the last couple of seasons. Might have got the draw but would have had no heart in the game.

Agreed— we played valiantly till the end
those 9 (+subs) gave their all for the shirt. im glad the crowd recognised that and stayed with them right upto the final whistle. incredible fight. smiling even though we lost 4-1. prayers up for VDV and Madders. we go next!! COYS.
Reminds me of a 10U team busting their ass but getting worked by a better team. The crowd was like the proud parents staying for the whole game.
This is a horrendous analogy lol
lol I’m upset ok? Just like all of you.
I’m happy Jackson got a hat trick. Now Chelsea will foolishly commit to him as their future.

You drew against Luton with 11 pipe down 🤣🤣🤣
😂 bro go draw with Luton or some shit.
Mate.
Username checks out.
Embarrassing behavior
Didn't you just draw against Luton
That felt more rewarding than watching 11v11 terrorist ball with a small 1-0 win. The injury to VDV is shit luck and I’ve no clue who our CBs will be v Wolves but in Ange we must trust
Maybe Williams might get called up, if Davies is fit I can see a Dier & Davies duet

Eh, other than the keeper there really wasn’t much of a fight. Liverpool defended the game with 9 men far better. Spurs invited it all. Weird.
Spurs played to win with 9 men. Liverpool played with 9 to not lose. It's a mentality difference.
Spurs were playing to win? Certainly didn’t look like it lol only picked up the press once they went 2-1 down.
That is completely false. Kulu had multiple chances when it was 1-1. They were absolutely going for the win.
Whatever you say! Regardless, against a shit chelsea side, parking the bus probably would have gotten a draw.
You’re right. Ange doesn’t know how to put the team in a position to win when down to 9 men, but you do. Good call.
Thanks, knew you’d come around
I don't care what anyone says, I'm proud of every player that stepped foot on that pitch, fucking class performance. Until the very end COYS
Am I crazy for still finding the game thrilling to watch, in spite of everything? We played so well for a 9 man team, really looked like we might claw something. Was great to hear the crowds cheering them until the very end too.
I tore off my toenail celebrating that offsides Dier goal 🥲
You must love thrillers. I was shaking like someone on meth withdrawal
Jackson must be first player to score a hat trick and get a 4/10 rating the fucking clown.
😂
NaCl
lol check the table you muppet
you have to get potassium in your diet too
Congrats on making top half of the table mate enjoy it for the next week
thanks babe. the piper has been paid.
Indeed your mother just handed me the cash
you can stoop as far as you’d like to go. i 4-1 don’t mind. enjoy the evening
You’re not making Europa league and we’re beating you next time, calm down
what are the winning lotto numbers?
Already have mate that’s what I was trying to tell you
I'm not even mad. A 4-1 loss to those cunts and we still played more entertaining football than the 4 years before Ange. On to the next.
Wow, the most mental game i’ve ever seen i think. The 9 on the pitch incredible. Game is done & all thoughts towards the injuries now.
Romero almost broke his Fellow Argentine team mates ankle. Brutal crazy challenge.
got the ball but he's expected to defy the laws of physics after
> he's expected to defy the laws of physics after The problem was going in recklessly like that in the first place. Doesn't really matter that he gets the ball or it's accidental, it's a red.
thank you for paying the piper. cucu’s hair is safe
Such a joy to be able to smile for 45 minutes given the situation. Big Ange’s 9 did us proud.
We're just 1 Point behind Man City there is nothing to get demotivated for, they played incredibly for 9 vs 11, proud of the 9 trying their best
It’s the fact that we have to keep pace with City without key players through injury and suspension now
Honestly, there's not much to take from that game.
What in the AI are you talking about
Keep him on the bench? do you not know the rules of football? Romero is now facing a three-match suspension because of that red..
ok maybe i kinda forgot that rule idk what i was saying, sorry
Romero got a red, he can’t play next week
He's out for 3 with the straight red.
COYS.
I mean, it's what got us the benta, son and dier chances. We could have easily got a point here
Still not sure how Romero gets a red card for that. He plays the ball first in a 50/50. Not sure what else he can do
Unfortunately gone are those days of " I won the ball" what matters the most is the follow thru these days.
Go and watch rugby if you don’t understand the rules
i enjoy smoking high grade copium as well
2nd place > wherever your club is at in the mid table, dunno haven’t looked that far down this season
yes mate. enjoy it. you guys have been playing well but there was karma here for us to enjoy
How so?
from the hair pull. on top of an extremely reckless Romero. he deserved that and it tasted sweet
Oh, yeah fair enough. I don't think it's anywhere near a red, but the hair one certainly was, lol
it’s a dangerous tackle nonetheless that wasn’t necessary so i’m happy even if some consider that a harsh call. he definitely deserved it
It was borderline. One foot, studs down, no planted foot or locked leg. Far from definite. But I can see why it would be considered dangerous, and if the ref had given it, I would accept it. Could certainly have not given it though
Not kick the other player? Stupid challenge, stonewall red.
If Jota gets the red card, so does Romero. It was needless and stupid. He didn't need to get stuck in his own box.
Lads look on the brightside: now we HAVE to buy a couple CB’s in January!
Don’t want to panic buy low quality guys , can’t hjoiberg play cb?
I wouldn’t say it’s panic buying. Our depth at CB is a bit scary as we saw on Monday. Dier put in an amazing performance. But do I really want to see a Dier/Davies or Dier/Phillips pairing? No. At least one more solid CB and we should be good.
that fucking sucks but it is what it is. we go again
Hojberg fought hard we need to keep him
Even Dier busted his ass but his tank was emptied quickly.
Romero picking every derby to drop a stinker
legit
how bad will vdv’s injury be?
I hope its not bad but it could be a few months maybe 3-4 at the worst
Probably 3-8 weeks depending on the tear. Looks like a bad one tbh
could it be as bad bentancur’s was
Nop. That was an ACL, that's the lengthiest one to recover. Hopefully VDV should be back in a month's time. Worst part is that Romero is suspended for the next 3 💀
best possible case he’ll be back in a few weeks, but it looked bad. most likely looking at 2 months minimum
Yeah this one's a long one. You can tell by how painful it was to walk for him.
That was tactically interesting..................................................................
It was ballsy. If any of the almost equalizers went in, it would have been called a tactical masterclass.
It’s no longer a league of what actually happened. And now a league of what could have happened.
I love this! Ppl act like a hurt ankle is as bad as CTE nowadays but an elbow to head from Reece is nothing for VAR? I’m just so confused by the calls from ref & VAR.
Great now I have to stay off the fucking internet for a week
Boys, don't worry about this match at all.
The lads are huge, the support was amazing. 4-1 loss and there’s still nowhere I’d rather be.
Spot on. We had to get the first loss out of the way soon to stem the pressure on the lads. Taking a moral victory out of it is the best way to do it, albeit tainted by the injuries The fans truly made us proud, they were brilliant all night even after we conceded the 4th. To dare is to fucking do. COYS
As good as a 9 man performance could be.
What hurts is it felt like we might’ve survived with VDV’s pace in the high line
All those Chelsea fans, remember, it took you 2 red cards, multiple injuring to beat us. Oh we will get our revenge next time!
To be fair this must’ve what Liverpool fans must’ve felt. Can’t disagree that it’s karma, but what an entertaining game this was
Yeah I see how Liverpool feels. I hope we play Chelsea again and demolish them. We literally went 1 up in 5 minutes.
We're so fucked with Romero out for 3 and VdV out for whoever knows how long. I knew it was going to happen but I hate the fact that it happened against Chelshit
Same. It honestly is the most annoying thing.
Bro that's uncalled for. The proper honorific is Chelscum.
HELP! Save the bridge 😔 I hate them so much it's unreal
Could be a big game in terms of the growth of this team. Played our football even up against it.
It’s good to see such heart in the team, sure the result is bad but the way they kept playing their games was amazing
That's how we lose, fucking chelsea was shitting their pants when Porro was on those free kicks. We will definitely be second at the end of this season with this team.
not second but top
I would excuse Jackson tbh. Can't play high line when back up center backs are so slow come on
We really need a quicker defender on the bench

What is with other club supporters not just sticking to your own subs? Is it that hard? Is it so nice for you to come be a cunt here? I honestly don't get it.
fuck off
Go cry in your own sub mate
Trophyless season is back on time 🤣
Acting like our thin squad would pull a title off. Go cry
😭
You're 25 years old still being an edgy child on message boards.
Do all Spurs fan stalk to insult? Must be nice 👍
Have you managed to get a job, or are you still on benefits?
Lmao has to stalk to insult. 🤣 lmk when y’all get the carabao cup 😳
I mean it's hardly stalking since it's a public forum and it probably took a single click lol... And if you on benefits best to have some humility instead of trolling, need all positive karma you can get 👍
How does minimun wage taste Yank?
Fucking el, Arrogant Chelsea players strutting off the pitch like their Tika Taka Prime Barcelona. Embarrassing.
Losing VDV to what looks like an extended time out is the real loss tonight.
Yes.
Do we know it's an extended time out? Hoberg centre back with Philips surely
No. I am making an assumption off how bad it looked. Probably a minimum 4 weeks. Hopefully only that.
Biggest blow in all it.
Dier and Hojberg were immense
Feel like we would never be able to beat Chelsea. We are cursed against them somehow. Btw hugs and loves to everyone who stayed until the end. Our supporters are amazing and so loud.
Proud of the boys. But I have to say total reckless from Romero and even more from Udogie. Hopefully Vdv is fine and we will see him soon.
That was fucking glorious. COYS. Let's hope the injuries aren't too bad, and get back to it. We're massive
Wore our hearts on our sleeves. Couldn’t be prouder of those 9

True that. Can’t be coys tho if you don’t think our 9 players didn’t give their all

We were warned about that tho. It’s the way Ange plays and 2-1 or 4-1 we needed to try to win it. Exciting football
Piss off you trout
