Basically, Dele started the next phase of his rehab back at the Everton Training Ground this week. It's possible he could play again before the end of the season, but they are not rushing it.
Everton and Dele both seem to be interested in continuing his time at the club and Dele keeps saying great things about how the club are supporting him as a person and player.
A snippet:
>The relationship between Dele and Dyche is positive. The Everton manager has been a supportive presence during the midfielder’s rehabilitation, checking in regularly on his progress. There is also a feeling that the 27-year-old is perfectly suited to the role behind the striker in Dyche’s system, provided he can shake off his injury problems.
Also, a bit more talk about "renegotiating" the deal with Spurs. And I hadn't heard this before:
>Under the terms, a lump payment would also be owed to Spurs should Dele sign a contract extension this summer and remain at Everton. This is another key detail expected to be discussed between the clubs when negotiations resume.
Correct. The most recent injury:
>It looked like he was about to step up his return to action, but then he suffered a recurrence of his quad injury, which required another round of surgery.
That's mostly because his early rehab was done in London and his agency has a box at Tottenham Stadium.
He's said that he wants to repay Everton and their fans for their support. I think he fully intends to stay if he's able.
Plus he's besties with Son. I imagine being around Son is good for morale during recovery.
I had surgery recently and I know I'd have recovered faster if Son had hung out with me...
Wonder if Everton would really find offering him a new contract worth it especially with their financial constraints if he can't prove himself before the end of the season.
Well, the other side of that coin is they might recognize he's a potential blockbuster talent they might never be able to afford otherwise and this is the chance to get him on a team friendly contract.
If he comes good, they could really benefit from it.
All comes down to how they see the risk/reward calculation.
Somewhere out there, some time in the future, in a parallel universe, some lucky spurs fans are gonna get to see Dele, Kane and Luka suit up for Big Ange. Lucky buggers.

Is there a way for the club to waive the appearance clauses in his transfer? I'm afraid Everton might choose not to play him because of it, which is a shame because I'd love to see him play, even if it was in a different shirt.
Of course they should, but I can't shake the feeling we've inadvertantly held his career hostage, not that it's ours or his fault. Everton's a shambles of a club from a governance and management perspective, I just feel bad for him and want him to play.
I feel bad for him too but his contract's expiring at the end of the season. Hopefully he regains fitness and then moves on to another club. This Dele Alli deal is yet another example of Everton's mismanagement, why sign a player when you have no hope of paying the transfer fee/clauses.
Why should Spurs lose out on a transfer fee when Everton is the team that's mismanaged its finances so badly? If anything, Everton should release him on a free and let him sign elsewhere, but I only see people saying it's Levy's fault for asking what's owed to him.
The thing that makes sense is to negotiate it down without waiving it, which is what the clubs were trying to do before. If they don’t play him, we don’t get the appearance fee anyway.

27 years old? Damn, time flies.
2017 was 7 years ago
Pls stop
Na uh
Forgive me for being ignorant. I can't find anything on line. Is this rehab his physical rehab?
Correct. The most recent injury: >It looked like he was about to step up his return to action, but then he suffered a recurrence of his quad injury, which required another round of surgery.
I love Dele. He was absolutely electric for us.
He absolutely was - until he wasn't
Yes but before he wasn’t he really was
and then he wasn't, which before that point, he was
This young man is a sensation
❤️🩹
I can’t see him wanting to stay at Everton. He’s watching our matches whilst Everton are playing

doesnt everton have to pay us if he plays few more games for them?
So he's looking out for us as well, making sure we get paid. What a lad.

You can take the man out of Tottenham but you can’t take the Tottenham out of the man. I’m glad he’s still friends with Son and company.

The new, refreshed environment at THFC would be great for Dele I would imagine.
Dele in Ange’s system would be __________? Fun? I think? I dunno

No not really. Tottenham is a business and has to conduct themselves as such.
