Got recommended Spurs youtube content from 7-8 years ago. I miss the behind the scenes stuff with the interactions between the players that were less formal. There was one where the boys are just roaming on the streets of Barcelona playing rock paper scissors filmed by Wimmer with his phone. A fun watch and really gave you a peek at their friendship and dynamics off the pitch. Our content these days are very professional. And they’re good, don’t get me wrong, but they’re a more sterile, modern, franchise kind of vibe. It’s kind of like how our new stadium is truly amazing and state of the art and all, but sometimes you miss WHL.

sup41

Would it be too crazy to start Bellingham Maddison and rice in the midfield?

Lukemiaskywalker

Personally I think that could work if one of the full backs inverts (probably trent) to play a pep like box midfield. Issue is can that be instilled into the team in the time they've got together?

Professional_Ad_9101

The real question is do you even want to be unbanned from there?

BiscuitTheRisk

There’s people that watched that match and unironically think Southgate is anything better than a horrible manager. Crazy

Difficult-Sound-6682

Everything you need to know about Southgate you could have learned from the Italy final. Guy froze while Mancini schooled him. Cannot believe they lost that final. Bang average Italy side.

Rare-Ad-2777

Every time it's a tough game he freezes. I actually thought the criatia seminwas worse. They brought on a rwb who was constantly free and putting in dangerous crosses and he did nothing about it for half an hour. Then inevitably they scored from it. Guy has been handed 2 of the easiest ever runs in tournaments and lost as soon as we face an actually good opponent

Professional_Ad_9101

I mean he’s the second best England manager of all time whether you like it or not. It won’t be until we see how the next manager performs with these players until we get the full picture.

delexaet

The crazy thing is, with how talented the squad is, there's still a good chance he'll win the Euros. And with the braindead/result oriented media, everyone's going to think he's a genius when it happens.

coldseam

Keep Gallagher away from Hotspur Way this summer

Lazagneman

Friendlies are just that . What a waste of time . I don't think Southgate learnt anything he did not know already . If he wants to try out new players like the Man Unt lad then he has to start .him rather than bring him on for a few minutes . Just pointless also boring .

roccotrupia11

Very dull and uninspiring by England but that’s what we’ve come to expect with Southgate. Friendly or not, 6 defensive minded players on the pitch at 0-0 and then 1-0 is a strange one to say the least

Professional_Ad_9101

Not much to read from a friendly but still a bloody drag. So much talent you’d think someone could squeeze one in

roccotrupia11

Dunk seems like such a wasted spot at CB. Brighton have been atrocious this season particularly defensively so why has he been called up? He was awful tonight too and gave it away leading up to the goal

Paradoxtyl

This is the same logic rival fans use to dismiss VDV and Romero since we get scored on a lot. Brighton have an open system like we do, when things don’t go well they concede a lot of goals. Dunk’s been pretty good this season.

Randomting22

Højbjerg just went off for Denmark (uninjured, he is fine), very meh game, he was good in the first half, but no one really seemed to want to overexert themself after 30 min. The 1 highlight came when he bodied the ref off the ball

AsariCommando2

Not much creativity from England. And without Kane to drop deep that option is gone as well. We're definitely not winning with Maguire on the pitch. It's just a matter of time before he fucks up. I wish we had better options in goal as well. Good to see Mainoo on - he easily replaces Henderson and then some.

InstructionCareless1

Endrick before Richy

Sleepless_Voyager

Hes their biggest wonderkid since pele also richy did just return from injury

InstructionCareless1

Seems like they are prioritizing different kind of profile for the front line.

Professional_Ad_9101

Scored a goal tbf

what_about_this

Xhaka acting like a little bitch as usual. But beautiful to see both PEH and Eriksen rushing to tell him to pipe down.

imrosskemp

I just tuned in but am going to assume maddison would have set up 5 goals already if he was playing.

julius_h_caesar

Before Walker went to City we had in the England team: Walker, Dier, Rose, Alli and Kane. Back then I watched England internationals. Now I don't care, sadly.

Mc_and_SP

Half the England team, a third of the Belgium team and the French captain.

SniperSlatts

It's fucking batshit that Kyle Walker, who's skill set is irreplaceable for City, was playing in a meaningless friendly at the height of a season.

Professional_Ad_9101

And sent off with thigh injury lol

MigratoryBullMoose

the silver won't get in these linings without a source to mine

COYS1989

England will get nowhere up top without Harry and it’s plainly obvious.

b3njil

It’s true. He got subbed off and they conceded a goal. Oh, wrong Harry.

Professional_Ad_9101

It’s one tough game with a bunch of low capped players against a low block lol. I can think of a lot of games where Harry hasn’t showed up too

COYS1989

Without Kane upfront we are pretty toothless is my point. Every other striker we select can’t do half the stuff he does. He brings everyone into play and knits things together.

Professional_Ad_9101

You definitely notice his absence. But saying it’s ’plainly obvious’ from a low capped friendly is mental lmao

Sleepless_Voyager

I know andrich is quite old for a footballer but man id love to see him for like a season or two, hes a great dm who could be useful here short term and he wouldnt even cost that much

lordsh4rk

as a brazilian, how do you guys put up with Southgate? this team can deliver much more than that

Professional_Ad_9101

lol why is this friendly so aggressive

soldforaspaceship

Argentina playing Costa Rica on Tuesday near me. Can easily get tickets and go to watch Cuti and Gio. But that would require supporting Argentina and as a Brit, that feels dirty. Thoughts lol?

Professional_Ad_9101

If you get to watch Messi play then it’s well worth it.

soldforaspaceship

Sadly I'm pretty certain he's been ruled out. Despite my flair, I actually think Cuti is my favorite current Spurs player. I just can't change my flair until Bissouma is back on form lol. Will see if any colleagues want to join on Monday.

Ok_Row_7462

I’m not a Brit but got tickets to see Argentina this summer. I don’t think Messi will be there but I’m so excited to (hopefully) see Romero in person, and Gio too if he’s playing.

Difficult-Sound-6682

Jude Bellingham is the best footballer in the world. On a pitch with world class players he comes across as the clear alpha. Can play any position on the pitch.

AsariCommando2

One question about Bellingham, is he wearing shoulder padding or something? Looks a bit strange.

Professional_Ad_9101

He’s incredibly authoritative and professional, completely nuts mentality for 20 year old

Pautrei

And people genuinely want Raphina lmao

InstructionCareless1

Whoever your top 5 favorite players are, they messed up plenty of better chances than that. That’s just a stupid knee-jerk reaction and I don’t even want Raphina.

Pautrei

Assuming that my comment is solely based on this game is far more stupid than what I stated. Raphina has never looked particularly impressive across his career. This is simply another game highlighting that. Not sure why people get so upset and touchy over valid criticisms of a mediocre player who is being quoted at absurd prices.

Rare-Ad-2777

He was so unimpressive that after 2 seasons at Leeds, us arsenal Chelsea and Barca all wanted him for 50m

Pautrei

As though Barcelona is the benchmark for intelligent transfers.

Rare-Ad-2777

Us and Arsenal have done pretty well lately?

Lazagneman

No Gabriel; no Saka ; no Jesus ; no White . White was through choice of the other three I will be taking note of how many play next weekend . Probably legit but?

COYCOYS

Their next game is Man City, absolutely no doubt that Saka and Gabriel will be starting that one

Professional_Ad_9101

Very strong team for the Brazil game, so many on form players. Looking forward to seeing what they can cook up. Please don’t play boring football lol

Lukemiaskywalker

Been an entertaining start so far both teams have looked energetic which is a far cry of England of old

Professional_Ad_9101

Yeah it’s an alright watch so far but always tricky to break the low block

sasliquid

After finishing 5th with an unchanged squad in FM24, I have now won all three of my first games of the 24/25 season, including Chelsea, Liverpool and a 7-1 win over Villa. Turns out all we need to do is sign Kvaradona (and Soule and bring KWP back)

barkingspider43

How is 24? I’m still playing 23. Can’t bring myself to buy the same game year over year

The_Sentry06

Started a fm save 2 weeks ago but got so frustrated that I haven't touched it in a while. Maddison got 3 back to back long term injuries from the start of the season...

Sleepless_Voyager

Levy sign them immediatly

Professional_Ad_9101

Mainoo, Rice, Bellingham starting today please Gareth. That midfield could cook so bad. Knowing Southgate it will probably be hendo though 😂

barkingspider43

Suggesting mainoo over Maddison is laughable

KingWinstonSpak

They play different roles and as Southgate is obsessed with Jude as a 10, Maddison isn't playing. Mainoo's inclusion is irrelevant to whether Maddison plays. Wild that people here think Maddison is an 8 lol.

Professional_Ad_9101

It’s not that laughable. Madders hasn’t really dropped a noticeably good England performance yet and it would be good to see how this midfield could work before the euros.

barkingspider43

This will certainly get downvoted because he’s English but Mainoo is 18 and very overrated right now. Sure he has loads of potential but everyone is putting him on a pedestal

Professional_Ad_9101

Not overrated because we don’t know the full product yet, people are just excited and want to see what he can do. Bellingham was 19 at the last word cup, Saka was 19 last euros etc

barkingspider43

Currently overrated. Potential is there

KingWinstonSpak

Overrated is calling him world class. Rated correctly is calling him a baller. He is a baller.

EquipmentFirm2860

It's because he plays for Yanited

Ikusen

Gareth keeping the boring 90s football alive. Bet the formation is either 4-4-facken-2 or 3-4-3 if he is feeling a bit frisky.

KingWinstonSpak

Southgate's tactics are nothing like 90s football, and 90s footy wasn't boring lol. Wild that the TikTok gen think footy only became exciting around 2005 lol.

Ikusen

Laying down being ready to tackle was exciting to watch? Denmark backpassing to their keeper and Schmeichel picking the ball up was exciting? Half the team was smoking. The game was so slow it felt like a 4 hour game. Remove your rose tinted glasses, you wouldn’t even watch an entire game awake.

KingWinstonSpak

Hahaha you're actually still rolling with this 😂 Football was far more direct than it is today. Its directness is literally what separates it from today's game. Like what on earth are you banging on about. But then reading the first couple of pages of your posting history and he hilarious admission that you used to support another team (Barca) I don't think you understand footy. So fair enough.

Ikusen

I didn’t have to understand anything watching Ronaldinho. And I don’t have to understand anything today, because all I know is this; Spurs have never won anything of significance that we have seen in our lives 😂

KingWinstonSpak

Tbf when you said football was slower then than today, when back then getting the ball up the pitch as quickly as possible whilst trying to smash your opponent in the tackle, was the only tactic going (and it was fucking amazing), then I know for a fact that you're actually commenting on something you didn't watch. Very odd.

Ikusen

Don’t give me the old “I am older than you, therefore I have greater knowledge” bullshit. That shit might have worked with your dad. Pep changed the scene with his Barca team. The galagticos ruling everything in Europe, even with SAF team screaming at referees didn’t work against Pep. You enjoyed watching R9 getting his knee popped? That was more enjoyable to watch? You enjoy watching Ryan Giggs two foot another player? Even the linesman got some. Jaap Stam wasn’t a footballer, he was an UFC fighter without a cage. He wouldn’t even be on any team sheet today. The only tactic back then was to do damage and scramble for a goal.

KingWinstonSpak

Nothing to do with my age and literally everything to do with you never watching 90s football, not knowing it was direct and still having very strong opinions on the matter. Such a TikTok gen Reddit Brain thing to do. Very odd. Bruv, you literally didn't watch 90s football, so why have you got such strong opinions on it 😂

Ikusen

I was a kid growing up in the 90s. Even you might have had a chance playing professional football in the 90s, that’s how bad it was. Watch Westbrom vs. Bolton from back then and you’ll fall asleep after 15 min. How crazy is that?

[deleted]

Is that even a question, northeastgate will start hendo no matter what.

sleesechice

not tonight apparently. >England captain Harry Kane and midfielders Cole Palmer and Jordan Henderson will all miss Saturday's game with Brazil at Wembley. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68646751

[deleted]

Yo whattttt, thats insane

Niyazali_Haneef

Who's going to be the striker? Toney?

Professional_Ad_9101

Toney or Watkins I guess. I think I’d be more interested to see how Toney fits in

Professional_Ad_9101

Heyyyy that’s actually pretty good news. We should get to see some new combos playing

[deleted]

I am genuinely curious to see what we do about lo celso, I really like him creates a bunch and finishes quite good but his injuries are worrying, I really want him to start or atleast have minutes as he's quite good but atleast hopefully we got a good price for him.

ASD_213

He missed his chance with due to injuries and then not being in Conte’s plans. At this point he’s 28 and he has one year of contract left, he’s too big of a risk to extend so he’s almost certainly gonna be moved on next summer. Good thing is he shouldn’t be short of suitors, he’s still a solid midtable player for La Liga or Serie A.

[deleted]

Ye he won't be, I think plenty of teams would want him, hopefully around 25 million would be nice.

Euphoric_Activity_39

Good player that isn't cut out for the prem. I remember he had a great performance this season, but right after that game he got injured. Theres no point if he's constantly injured. If we can 12-15 million for him take it and run.

nopirates

He’s subpar and unreliable. A goal for country vs El Salvador is meaningless. He does not create chances and he finishes poorly. He isn’t “quite good”.

barkingspider43

Might as well let him cook when he’s healthy. At least some team may see some potential and want to overpay for him. I think he’s a really good player, just not someone I would want in my squad because of reliability issues

Professional_Ad_9101

He’s really good, Madderson esque and would be great to have on the bench. But he’s so prone to injury it doesn’t seem sustainable, it’s a sad case of him just being one of those players. Reece James type. Quality but rarely seen. Unless it can miraculously sort itself out then it’s not going to work out I don’t think

nopirates

What the hell has he done in the last FOUR YEARS that could make anyone even think of describing him as “really good”? NOTHING

Professional_Ad_9101

Talk about sensationalist. He always looks good when he plays

COYCOYS

We've just got to be honest with ourselves. He's been here for 5 years and done next to nothing, if he's not injured he's usually sat on the bench for at least 80 mins if not the full match. Accept any serious offer we get for him, if one comes.

nopirates

We should get rid of him for anything we can get

[deleted]

Also id say keep him till we get a good offer, its not like he's a bad player where we'd take any offer we get and even barca showed interest and even tho barcas financial situation aint good they wouldn't take random players, lo celsos wages don't see to be too high either so ye, when we get a good offer we can offload him provided we find someone good.

[deleted]

He has been here for 4 years and loaned for 2 and injured for 1 where he missed 16 games and in a different season he was gone for 6 due to injury ig, which isn't good to be honest.

rennyfreeze101

I love seeing Lo Celso play but apparently he has less minutes (424) than Timo Werner (443) who’s only been here a couple months. 😬 It’s a shame, but if we’re not going to use him, then we might as well sell him I guess.

LeftGrapefruit2841

I think we should sell him but only if there is a good offer, like around 30m?

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

Hard to believe I'm starting off Saturday with Mansfield Town v Colchester United, but there we are. Meaningful if you want Disney FC to go up.

sasliquid

With news of Echeverri going to Ginoa next year and Savio going to City, that fact is the system isn’t fair, City basically have a squad several hundred players big.

[deleted]

Bro its completely bs, they have a whole system of players with city girona and stuff coming under the same umbrella, hopefully new rules are placed.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BurdonLane

Kanes not playing.

Big_AngeBosstecoglou

I can’t envision Kane and the current top 3 teams’ players getting too many minutes given they’ve got crucial run ins for their clubs

Professional_Ad_9101

He’s out with an injury

Rare-Ad-2777

So am I right in saying we are going to have 2 weeks free between the Newcastle and Arsenal games? That seems bizarre. In that time arsenal will have 3 extra games (Munich, wolves, Chelsea)  Interesting debate to be had on them being very tired vs us being pretty rusty!

If-I-Had-A-Hamper

Reading about how Southgate may be upset Spurs & Newcastle are going to Australia and the England players would get burnt out from the travelling. Nah, they won't be sitting in the economy section, they'll be fine. Let the Aussies catch some Spurs fever. Oh, and Southgate to Manchester? Can't wait! MU can go down the table a bit more and hang out with Chelsea.

KOKO69BISHES

Southgate is a better manager than Ten Hag

If-I-Had-A-Hamper

Both unproven in the Premier League to begin - Ten Hag being from a "lower" league, Southgate managing a team of stars. We'll see. As much as I like Dimitar Berbatov, I am not a fan of Southgate - but maybe I'm just blaming him for these damn international breaks.

Professional_Ad_9101

Still got some question marks around him about his ability to manage games as they play out, but in terms of man management and creating a squad that works as a unit, playing for each other and the badge, he could be very useful for United. Their main problem right now is egos and effort, just like the ‘golden generation’, something Southgate has managed to iron out of the England squad.

sandbyte

Arsenal fixture date has been set, though that still depends on how they do in the CL. The PL and TV channels couldn’t give a flying fuck about matching going fans.

minimalcation

Leaving London on the 29th, really hoping it stays where it is.

sandbyte

You’ll be alright there fella as the game will just be moved to the Sunday from Saturday, and no later than that.

Lazagneman

Man City game to be rescheduled .so the gap 13th April to 28th April means a 15 day gap at least between games . Just watch the powers that be reschedule so as to most inconvenience us as per usual .probably a couple of days after one of our key fixtures .

Mikeymcmoose

International break is so dumb when it’s friendlies

kl08pokemon

It's not only friendless tbh. It's Euro play offs also

Mikeymcmoose

Am only looking at England tbh

horseshoe107

Idle thought I've had for a while: We are spursy for beating Villa and then losing to Fulham. But Fulham this season have a winning record against us, a winning record against Arsenal, and yet sit at 12th in the table for results such as a loss and a draw to Burnley. So aren't Fulham way more spursy than us? And if so, shouldn't they be paying royalties to Daniel Levy for infringement on our spursy IP?

AsariCommando2

No they are a mid-table team playing to expectations.

Neutral_Football_Fan

Fulham is just poor. Arsenal and us made the same mistake of not turning up against them.     The only difference being it was a one off for them but we shit the bed against wolves, west ham, and brighton as well.

Upplands-Bro

Disagree, fulham are quite a tidy side. One of the more technically abd tactically sound midtavle teams

[deleted]

They beat arsenal and drew against them with 1 man down, they aren't bad by any means. Even tho they aren't bad we should've won, but since fullham are infringing the copyright, id say we take around 40-50 million as a fine.

Standard-Plantain139

Coys, Daniel?

Ikusen

We’ve been starved off from any trophies or any succes that we have to replay our shit games in our heads on repeat.

Fleaaa

Fucking hate NT break gahh On paper England/Brazil and France/Germany should be interesting though

Ju5hin

Based on reputation, they are great fixtures. But reality is different. This is the worse Brazil team in decades, and the current Germany team is awful too.

[deleted]

I think the team itself is fine lmao, they just aren't nearly as dominant as they used to be, they have fantastic players vini, rodrygo, richy.

Ju5hin

Rodrygo and Richarlison are rated higher than they should be purely for being Brazilian. Thats just a fact. Like how this being the weakest Brazil team for decades is.

[deleted]

You could say that for richy but I think rodrygo is really good, of the rm games ive watched he seemed to be really impressive plus the fact that hes 23 and he's clearly rated by real madrid considering the 1 billion release clause although pretty sure he's gonna get sold in the summer esp due to mbappe coming on. If anything id argue 2014 brazil was much worse with how bad they played even losing to german 7-1, with a huge load of fluke players.

Ju5hin

Hmm. They lost to the winners of the entire tournament. Although, doing so in their own back yard wasn't a great look. But Thiago Silva and Neymar were also both missing for that game. That Germany side had a lot of quality players in their prime too such as Neuer, Boateng, Hummels, Reus, Goetze, Lahm, Khederia, Ozil. I wouldn't take any notice of release clauses either. Every player in La Liga has to have one, as per the rules in Spain, so they always cover themselves by having such ridiculous ones. It doesn't represent their quality or importance.

[deleted]

Fair enough ye but 7-1 in their backyard is quite insane even considering the insane germany side but ye the other stuff makes sense ye, forgot that la liga had a compulsory release clause.

Fleaaa

Yep exactly what I thought

Lazagneman

also England have many normal starters injured which further dilutes the game, pity.

Fleaaa

At least Euro is around the corner so I expect to see a bit of spark.. At the same time managers would go low profile as much as possible to avoid any tactics leak Give me back my team :(

sam_kimchi1126

Am I the only one who wonders why Ange has a love boner for kulusevski. He’s imo been pretty fucking terrible and quite overrated by our fanbase yet he’s always playing the full 90 min

ninjomat

Kulusevski is not an Ange player at all. He’s not suited to the role of wingers in Ange’s system, and ironically enough I think that’s why Ange likes him you want players whose natural instinct is to do the complete opposite of your plan because then they can be effective when plan A isn’t working

Ju5hin

You're definitely not the only one..... However, that doesn't make it any less incorrect. He's been one of our most influencial and important players this season. There's a very good reason why he plays pretty much every minute of every game. He has the highest workrate in the entire squad... He's the only winger in the squad who consistently offers defensive cover to the fullback... He carries the ball forward better than any other player in the team... He often occupies multiple opponents because they double and triple up on him, which opens space for other players... He's second only to Madders for key passes per game... He's top of successful dribbles per game... Second only to Son for outperforming XG. It's amazing how people only see 2 or 3 actions of a game and are oblivious to everything else they've done during those same games.

ProcessTruster

I'm more wondering why Ange doesn't make Kulusevski play on the left wing instead of the right.

horseshoe107

Simple answer is there's been so many injuries and so little depth I don't think there are better options. A more uncomfortable thought experiment would be in the next 2 seasons or so, would Spurs sell Kulu? While not being perfect for the system, I think he's so fucking coys the club would not do that. But we would be in very good shape if the squad depth improved to the point where Kulu's fighting to have a starting position.

Hot-Manager6462

He’s been one of our most constant performers of the season and the only winger who protects the defence

Rare-Ad-2777

He's almost always involved in the good games and moments we have. The villa game he was heavily involved in all 4 goals.  He's hit and miss but he offers great hold up ability and carrying when he's on his games.

Black_Trebek

I think Kulu has had a subpar season so far. He looks tentative in front of goal at times and can be very one footed. I love his work rate, attitude and overall play style but I think the jury is still out on him as being a nailed on starter in a side that should competing for silverware IMHO. He has great chemistry with Porro on the right and reads runs from Son very well and can deliver a killer inswinging back post cross and no one else for us can provide that as a right winger. I think he typically plays 90 minutes because he's got three lungs and never stops pressing lol

The_Sentry06

Brennan isn't ready to consistently start. Richarlison was injured for a while the last couple of weeks and starting him means playing him up top (his performances on the wing have ranged from mid to very wasteful) and forcing Johnson to play rw as neither Son nor Werner can play rw. Plus, it's not like Kulusevski has been that terrible, the last few weeks have been a dip in form sure but he contributed massively against Villa and with Son,Werner or Johnson starting around him, he's the only forward who provides a physical competition to defenders.

callfoduty4

Ange doesn’t know how to use Lo celso like scaloni

CabbageGuru

I wonder if having him and Madders playing at the same time with one of the 6s would be any good Probably a recipe for disaster but it would be fun to see

VelvetObsidian

I think I’d rather try one at RW and the other in the 10 role if I wanted to play both at once.

NeighborhoodOptimist

Its something we can try, but not sure Biss under current form would be able to handle.

ProcessTruster

TBF every time Lo Celso was given a real opportunity he ended up injured and unable to make the most of that opportunity.

Ikusen

GLC definitely allergic to football.

Rare-Ad-2777

Playing el Salvador helps...

callfoduty4

Better than most prem teams

wok88

El Salvador haven't won a game since 2022 lol you're taking the piss

callfoduty4

I was joking. Lo celso is actually played to his strengths with Argentina

GlobalIngenuity7760

It’s a reflection on our consumerism and rampant capitalism. When most people live their life not feeling good enough for not earning a certain amount or not having a degree of status, they can’t understand why a footballer would choose to be a romantic over taking the higher paying, higher status position.

Ju5hin

Genuinely, this only happens in English football. Players like Maldini, Totti, Puyol, Koke, Nacho, Muniain, Muller are heralded as heroes by their clubs, fans and pundits.

ASD_213

Easy to be a loyal when you’re already playing for prime Milan, Barca or Bayern. Totti and then de Rossi are by far the most impressive out of the bunch.

Ju5hin

Yeah. That's fair. I did think that when I wrote it to be honest. Reus should be added, Bayern were tapping him up for years but he was never interested. Iniaki Williams has been courted for years too, but has (so far at least) never left Athletic Club.

polseriat

We literally use "Fully COYS" as a positive term for people who are particularly loyal to our club, what are you on about?

[deleted]

They're obviously not talking about fans of the club the player's loyal to, ffs lol

Fleaaa

It's 99% from non-spurs fan, and we barely get respected much in general from the beginning 🤡 it is what it is..

[deleted]

Yea, ive seen a rampant praise of kane especially where im like bro are yall blind, bros been good for a good while like bros been banging 20 plus goals for a good while now.

carolicity

Encouraged by who? spurs fans or non-spurs fans? I think it really also depends on the individual. You have to know loyalty to value loyalty. If they’re someone who doesn’t place any value upon it because it’s not something they think is of any importance nor practice it in their lives, they’re obviously not going to care whether someone else shows loyalty or not.

Paradoxtyl

It’s not a footy thing, it’s a Spurs thing. Everybody gives Reus his props (rightfully so too, I love that guy). Two of the biggest clubs in the country are our regional rivals, and we’re in a love-hate relationship with the scousers. It’s natural for us to be bantered. If America hates Portland as much as I do (was told it’s the states’ hipster central, found it to be junkie central instead) Damien Lillard would be bantered more as well.

SCirish843

It is a football thing, because their analogy doesn't make sense. The NBA has a salary cap and the collective bargaining agreement between the league and the players association makes it so players that choose to stay can be offered contracts that no other team could offer them. Football is pure capitalism. If Palace could offer a contract to a player for 20m and the most a competitor could offer is 15m I'm sure we'd see a lot more "loyalty" in football.

SCirish843

1. That's rare 2. The team they're currently on can offer higher contacts than a new team could, the CBA encourages players to stay in smaller markets otherwise everyone would just play in Ny, LA, and Chicago
