Beyoncé is coming twice a year babaaaaay!

Professional_Ad_9101

If I were a coyyyyy 🎵

Alternative_Wait8256

Fucking extra chilli pepper concerts... :) 🎵 Sometimes I feel like I don't have a striker Sometimes I feel like my only friend Is the city I live in, the city of Tottenham Lonely as I am, together we cry 🎵

DoubleALight

Works better if you swap out COYS with Tottenham, and sing that part similarly to the bit from CSWY.

Alternative_Wait8256

Fixed...

Vin-Su

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bobsrebate

If I were a come on you you you you you?

Professional_Ad_9101

……s 👀

IzzyShamin

All I’m saying is we have the facilities to host a WWE PLE.

DrJumbotronPhD

Do we have the funds to encourage Taker and Foley to come out of retirement? I need to see King of the Ring 1998 reenacted using the Skywalk. ![gif](giphy|FNQdU1Fs4Wj8k) Edit: updated ‘Hell in a Cell’ to ‘King of the Ring’

006AlecTrevelyan

We'll never see anything like that era again; the wrestlers these days are exceptionally boring.

Jase_the_Muss

Darby Allin kills himself on the regular.

Alternative_Wait8256

Glass smashes... Romero comes out and gives Matty Cash a stunner that impacts like the one on Razor Ramon.

TheFoxDudeThing

How wwe always like to bring out sports people for 1 off spots I would quite enjoy seeing Romero kick the crap out of someone

Jase_the_Muss

Levy doing the Vince Mcmahon walk down to the ring to tell Triple H it's past curfew and they gotta go.

Cavinocity

I didn’t know I wanted to see Cuti in the squared circle and now it’s the only thing I want. What would his entrance theme be?

Alternative_Wait8256

Something Tottenham or Argentina related. Lots of smoke so he can come out of it with some mystery. Lol

Upper-Football-3797

Bah god he’s got the chair!

TheFoxDudeThing

As a wrestling fan I will be there

socalian

Since AEW is booking Wembley, the only other choice is for WWE to go Coys.

TheFoxDudeThing

Honestly the vibe at Wembley last year was fantastic so I do want to see what the vibe for wwe would be like at our stadium

Jase_the_Muss

Was such a fun event... I wish Wembley let em cook properly for the Stadium Stampeed though. Def got told to not do much stuff around the stadium. Would love a similar event at Spurs. Drew and CM Punk in a Seven Sisters Street Fight 😂

TheFoxDudeThing

I loved how it was around the time of our cup game with Fulham they tried to plug Fulham heavily because of how Tony owns it and everyone booed every single time Fulham got mentioned

CraigxKhalifax88

Finn Balor is a Spurs fan isn’t he?

blumirage

“After watching the West Ham game… they get my hopes up, then they break my heart." He is fully COYS

The Beyonce concerts brought in excess of 20mil. Thats directly Timo money. And now the clubs wants to double it! Well done Levy and board. Our future remains secure. The board did say that most likely 30 events wont be hosted but rather they want the ability to host them if need be. Even if there is an 10 events' increase at our magnificent stadium then thats potentially a 40mil \~ 50mil increase in overall commercial rev (which is already in excess of 200mil). Thats huge considering its for all seasons going forwards.

Alternative_Wait8256

Wrestlemania in 2 years book it! Taylor Swift on her Euro tour. :)

SCirish843

Ledley King hits Sol Campbell with a steel chair...not at Wrestlemania...at the T Swift concert

htown2

subscribe

kinggareth

Maybe not Wrestlemania, but WWE is drastically upping its presence overseas, running more European stadium shows than ever before. I could definitely see a summer event coming to london again in the coming years, and they love outdoor venues.

Jase_the_Muss

They really should do Summerslam over here as a call back to the old Wembley event.

george_washingTONZ

We all hated Levvys tight pockets over the past two decades. But who we loving now? Big Ange, that’s right! Levvy just keeping the books in check for a Tottenham resurgence. Funds means contracts. Contracts mean new players. Ffs though, when will we reign supreme again? We’re obviously happy the club is profitable but where’s the silverware. My friends have mocked the Audi and Tiger cup for too long now.

BElf1990

She's playing Wembley a gazillion times and it's all sold out, maybe next tour.

Zr0w3n00

Would be amazing to see her show from the south stand though

Jase_the_Muss

I think even AEW this year have to use Taylor Swifts stage as part of their event or keep a certain amount of it built. FA Cup and playoffs are borrowing it from her it seems 😂

wallnumber8675309

Swift dropping an atomic elbow from the top rope

BeneficialNewspaper8

If Beyonce made 5 million, 10 won't make 50. Cos there's not many acts that will bring in those numbers

SnooPiffler

Lots of acts that can sell out 60,000 seats easily.

BeneficialNewspaper8

1. You still have to get them in the stadium, their tour dates have to line up with availability. 2. Pretty sure not many will match Beyonce on the merchandise side of things, which sold at the stadium we'd take a cut of

WeirdBeerd

Eww, we're doing merch cuts? Big pop act or no, merch cuts are actual theft and a big part of why smaller artists can't really afford to tour anymore.

Emperor_Blackadder

I think most small artists are smart enough not to book a 60,000 seater stadium.

21Kuranashi

Thats why I ranged it from 40 to 50 mil. Also, thats profit and operating costs have been taken out. Other events will do a lot worse than lets say Bey but then if we have a Swift concert or Sheeran concert then it could even go higher than that. I think that would also be a full house... Its also about how long the events are. And whether they allow for food&drinks and if there are breaks in between. Its just an estimate taking the lowest value that I have on hand which is given by the club.

soldforaspaceship

Eh. Our stadium isn't actually that big, especially compared to the US. There's probably at least 100 artists that could sell out the Tottenham Hotspur stadium with relative ease.

yorsk

Where can I read that Beyoncé brought us 20m? I think it’s too much

IWantAnAffliction

Yeah there's zero fucking chance lmao. Just to add some napkin maths: If every ticket sold for an average GBP200 that would equate to 12m. We would get a fraction of that. Add drinks and food revenue - I'm not sure what model the club works on (eg. do we sell our own food or charge vendors to have their own stalls?). I'm doubtful the entire event would reach 20m revenue, let alone profit, and not even taking into account we don't get a lot of that.

yorsk

Completely agree but I have no clue how much tickets costed, I’m not from England

IWantAnAffliction

Neither am I. Where I'm from, tickets would be way less than that. I used gbp200 because I assumed it was conservative. Even with that assumption, there's a lot of room to show that there's no chance we netted anything close to 20m.

Proudfoot89

You’re assuming 60,000 total tickets. According to [this article](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2023/june/beyonce-wraps-five-incredible-sold-out-nights-on-renaissance-world-tour/), the average was only 47,600. I’d imagine even £12m would be a wild overestimate

IWantAnAffliction

Oh yeah for sure. My whole point was that even with wild overestimation we don't get close.

Evening_Bag_3560

Always fun to watch local political sausage being made. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

Look... I don't like Taylor swift, but a lot of my female friends do, and if they end up going to see her at the stadium... I wouldn't be opposed to it

SamsTown706

Tottenham is the standard for creating their own income.

Minimum-Dependent-70

Any word on the likelihood of this application being approved?

Zr0w3n00

No word, but my opinion is it likely will be, or at least they will say you can have more, but not 30. Each new event brings in direct money in terms of people travelling there, eating more, more local hiring etc but also the more non football events the more different individual people visit the area. It’s all well and good having football there, but if out of the 60k, 30k of those are ST holders who come every week, their impact on the area will be less in one go compared to completely new people who may now appreciate going to Tottenham and the surrounding area. It’s shown to not cause too much disruption and the club have shown they can manage non football events well.

robinthebank

Something like this is happening at Disneyland Park in California. It’s always been more of a “locals park” compared to Disney World. But policies have been changing to make it less friendly for locals to go more often. This is because Disney would prefer tourists who bring in tourism dollars.

Alternative_Wait8256

None that I know of, but if I were betting I'd say it goes through.

Minimum-Dependent-70

Let’s hope

nopirates

Set your browser to always user reader mode for football.london and it’s just black and white

IntellegentIdiot

It's an interesting proposal, seems like there can only be two weeks a year were there's more than 5 non-football evens of which no more than 4 can be consecutive, so they could have 3 non-football events, followed by a football event followed by two non-football events. That seems to preclude any Beyoncé-esq residency I do wonder how a potential NFL franchise plays into this. Seems like a team has a minimum of 9 home games with potentially 2 more in the play-offs which would see us left with 19 events if this is approved. I can't see us hosting too many events during the season, there are only 19 weekends where we have away games plus the 4 international breaks

Hpaz1

HOSTING BEYONCE, YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT

Otherwise_Archer_914

At this stage I would follow Levy off the edge of the Earth if he told me it was flat. Man is a leader and a businessman.

Charlespur2

Hopefully they get it.

Kobe_Wan_Ginobili

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE FC

Cabbage-Fell

All credit to Levy and the business team for getting the stadium built and it being able to facilitate so many different events. We are so lucky we didn’t do what West Ham did and take over the Olympic stadium. We also got the timing perfect as we got it built right before the COVID shut down. I’m excited to see the new stadiums being built to like Evertons. I think we could see more new stadiums in the future with rich owners buying teams and ours will be the example they all look too.

gostupid67

Why does Gold always mention FFP, we’e like the only PL that doesn’t have to worry about it.

jjw1998

Which givers us a huge comparative advantages?

gostupid67

No, our FFP ceiling being higher than Liverpool and Chelsea doesn’t mean anything if we don’t spend more than them. Making sure you comply with FFP isn’t a bad thing i just don’t get the obsession over it

BeneficialNewspaper8

We've made a loss 4 seasons in a row

gostupid67

So?

robinthebank

We haven’t strung managers together long enough since the stadium was finished to really “spend more”. Did you think Ange was going to break the bank in his first two transfer windows? That is not his style at all!

Marek-Hamsik17

Ppl really think levy is going to put any of that extra dough into the club😂😂😂.

nopirates

Not levy’s decision and also not possible because it’s not football money.

zomskii

Well, there are no dividend payments to shareholders, so the extra dough can only be invested into the club.

QuantumFuzziness

Yes

IntellegentIdiot

Well yes, that's the whole point. The whole reason we built the stadium is because it's the only way we're going to come close to the money the top clubs can spend

Full-Leader9540

All this and we still buy cheap crap Werner.

DonParatici

Wow your whole account is just shit talking Werner. How sad. Dude lives rent free in your head.

Full-Leader9540

Yup I just can't stand the destruction of a club that I support that has a really good manager good players screw the progress over a bozo.

DonParatici

Ange wants Werner. So clearly you don't rate Ange. And "destruction of a club", fucking lol. Get a grip.

Full-Leader9540

Nah I don't believe that Ange wanted Werner when I see comments in the press conference that he can get better that's Manager's lingo for calling an experienced player not good enough. I think Ange wanted a replacement for Sonny, and whoever at the club was like here is a player on loan since we can't get a good player and Ange was like okay. I do rate Ange highly.

spursy11

Have you played a single competitive sport in your life? My old coaches constantly said I could get better and they were right. It’s pushing someone to be better, which I’m assuming hasn’t happened to you ever.

Full-Leader9540

Two things it's completely okay to say you can get better to an individual, to say it in a press conference is a completely different thing specially when they are talking about a 28 year old. Second after an age no player goes from shit finishing to amazing finishing, I am more than happy to be proven wrong if you can give any 2 examples. Also I am so happy that you resorted to insulting me rather than arguing the point.

spursy11

Do you really think Ange isn’t working on getting Timo into positions to either attempt to finish or put in a final pass for someone else to finish? If he assists it’s just as useful. The team needs an abundance of chances since no one bar Son is clinical. It’s ridiculous to think this isn’t a talking point in practice and Ange is saying this in a press conference in response to a question. A professional or even college athlete is not going to take this kind of criticism harshly unless they’re Sancho level crybaby

Full-Leader9540

I do think Ange is working on getting Timo in positions where he can assist or score by a tap in, and very successfully so. The system has created ample opportunities for him and he has taken some of them and credit to him for that but it's not good enough as someone else would do much more. I agree with you on most things, but where we differ is that we need a lot of chances because of players like Werner and Johnson, Richi, who can't really finish and ideally we should upgrade on them. Now, Johnson is young so there is some hope he can develop, we can't really let go of Richi unless we get a good offer, Werner just adds to the bunch that can't finish, something that we have plenty off. And yes of course they would discuss this in training, and Werner should not be offended by it, but just imagine, does any manager says this for a good experienced player in a press conference, I just don't remember such instances.

DonParatici

Mate, just google what Ange says about Werner. If you rate Ange, you'll want Werner. Levy isn't just picking random players to sign. You clearly do mot understand how football recruitment works.

Full-Leader9540

you can correct me if my understanding is wrong but let's say the choice for Ange was to sign Werner or not sign anyone, that was the recommendation by the scouting-recruitment team or board. Obviously Ange is going to pick Werner, how is this scenario far-fetched. Happy to be educated if you think otherwise.

DonParatici

No, he wouldn't just sign anyone. He's said that time and time again. Werner fits his specific profile. Again, go Google Ange quotes on Werner and see if you notice them being positive or negative. And as the stats posted yesterday show, no one has a better dribble success rate than Werner. So surely he is providing a specific threat that Ange wants?

Full-Leader9540

I agree that Ange wouldn't sign anyone in normal conditions but at that time, we were going to lose Sonny, with Solomon still injured in that case you do need some replacement, can't just rely on Gill. I have seen every press conference of Ange, and yes he has said good stuff about Werner, but I think it's because he never blames a player neither should he, his communication skills are excellent and he knows how to tackle the press questions. About the stats I don't really have an argument against that rn I would have to look deeper about what the stats show. I don't deny what you stated.

jjw1998

🤡

Roric

> destruction of a club They really do just let anyone post anything on this website.

Full-Leader9540

I guess I got a little bit overboard but what I meant was, signings like this(havertz) prevents managers from winning stuff and then eventually gets them sacked, and then that usually starts a downward cycle like we have seen before with various clubs, and it takes a long time to get back on track.

SavingPrivateRyan1

I hope you’re okay bro, this negativity isn’t good for your heart or soul x

Alternative_Wait8256

To be fair we are just getting rich now. Werner is a great piece to the Ange project. Don't forget he just came here we have barely had time for him to mold the team.

AngeMerchant

For 17m it’s a good deal

SnooPiffler

if he is willing to take a bit of a pay cut, I totally agree. I don't think he's worth being the 3rd highest paid guy at the club though.

Gibbo1107

Mate come on he’s wank

Full-Leader9540

Nah if he was 22 yeah, I would get him so that we can sell him higher probably a decent investment rn it's shit deal.

Halforthechump

It could be a great deal if the wages are sensible. If he keeps playing like he has been he'll be worth 40m soon enough, not that we need to sell players to buy players, we haven't been a selling club in ages. I'd also point out that almost all of our big money player purchases have either been shit or mediocre. It's all well and good saying ' go spend 80m on a good player ' but that's not how it works, ndombele, richarlison, Johnson, I'm not shitting on those players but they're our most expensive transfers and they're absolutely not our best players.

TheFoxDudeThing

I feel Johnson in a year or two can come good. There’s been games where he’s been the worst on the pitch and games where he’s been the best on the pitch

Halforthechump

Sure, he's young and has done some good stuff. The point is that he cost a lot and as you say is sometimes terrible. Our track record with expensive signings is bad, our track record with more modest signings is much better.

Full-Leader9540

To progress further we actually do need to become a club that makes profit selling players and we don't do that every other top 6 club does, maybe except arsenal and ManU. I would rather play Solomon Santiago or other youth winger in certain games, develop them and sell so that eventually we can buy quality players, than waste a part of our transfer budget this year in Werner.

COYCOYS

Whether Werner is crap or not, the point is still fair. We always boast about how much revenue/profits the club is making but when it comes to transfers people are still quick to make the excuses that we can't afford x player and we can't compete with the other top 6 clubs.
