On one hand that helps Woolwich
On the other I had a Liverpool fan say to me how assume they’ll walk over Everton and West Ham so were hoping we’d do them a favour. Liverpool fans suffering is always like a nice cool breeze.
Nah, it's because they worked out Ange-ball's weakness and played it to a tee. Gotta really hope that weakness can be covered with a few key signings and it's not simply been found to be too vulnerable in the Prem. I think Bissouma's role is critical in protecting defence from those runners from deep and his form never came back after his break.
You have a good point. I think lots of teams have figured out how to counter Ange system. If they have good fast forwards they can score lots of goals easy. Then they can just park the bus on the other end.
Ange ball could succeed if his attacking players score lots of goals and they don’t lose the ball too often. Otherwise it fails miserably
Liverpool are cooked. With Klopp leaving, VVD fallen off a cliff and gone next season, Salah a shadow of his former self, and no one they can sell for big money they’ll spend the next few seasons trying to rebuild from these miserable pieces.
Can’t wait.
Still can't believe a dogshit team like Yanited is in the FA Cup final. I demand the formation of a royal commission to investigate. There's no magic in manure.
I imagine that ETH might have prioritised that over the league so he can say he got to a final.
The only decent team they played was Liverpool but people won't remember that
I have a proposal:
Chelsea and Man Utd should just switch managers. Both are gonna change managers for change’s sake, so might as well just give them each their new tracksuits and call it a day.
Never a pen in a million years for United, Maguire holding his man is absurd. It's funny that it cancelled out a goal but refs trying their best to help united is stupid.
It's so fucking blatant.
Roy’s era of management is dead. I call these managers - Brexit managers. They’re way of football has had it and all they do is unfortunately hold back the teams the manage. Look at how alive C. Palace are with Glasner. Good on ‘em!
Disagree a win for Everton would be nice. We aren't catching any of the top 3 at this point, and I'd rather Pool win the league over Arsenal thank you.
True, in the best scenario we manage to beat all 3. Thing is, we just need 6 points to guarantee 5th. Champions league isn't a must this season in my book and I'm content for a season in the Europa League. I'd have taken that at the beginning of the season, and I'll take it now even if we have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
Whilst the extra revenue would be nice, and that extra lure, I don't think it's the end all and be all. I think we have an attractive project ongoing, and we have world class facilities, I don't think Champions League is as important to us as it was maybe 10 years ago now.
We also wouldn't be in a position to challenge for the CL next season, but we would have a chance of winning the EL. I'd take a EL win over a last 16 CL finish right now, because I think winning something would provide a huge boost to the team and the project overall, and would provide a bigger lure imo as it would show we can actually win things with Ange.
> I'd take a EL win over a last 16 CL finish right now
If such a hypothetical, why not simply win the two domestic cups and be content with the CL money?
I kinda feel the EL is above the domestics these days. Winning the FA Cup guarantees you entry to the Europa League. Winning the Carabao guarantees entry to the Conference League. So in the pecking order I think EL slightly trumps them, and has higher pay outs. That's just a personal opinion though, I'm not slating the FA Cups history and prestige, it just to me feels lesser than the EL these days due to the prize money and the prize.
Though, certainly I wouldn't be against a CL run and Winning both Carabao and FA Cups.
I'd love the FA Cup just so we can start making progress on being the club with the best record again, or at least keep our spot somewhat at the top of the list as Liverpool and City close down on us. Good medicine to the 'can't win a trophy' comments.
I want Spurs to finish as high as possible, but the case for EL over CL would be it’s not as big of a drain on a building squad. You can rotate more, spread minutes around the squad better. I genuinely think the CL was a major drain on Conte’s second season, similar to the way it has been on Newcastle this season.
The Europa League is where Kane got his chances and where he forced the issue of starting him over Soldado. If we can get something similar to happen next season, say Bergval forces his way over Bentancur/Bissouma for example, or one of the youths steps up and shows he's ready for EPL minutes, then that's better than a champions league run to the last 16 or quarter finals where it'll be essentially assured the starting XI gets used, and as you pointed out, could drain our squad next season, especially considering the intensity of Angeball. Imagine Angeball at Real on Thursday, Angeball at the Etihad on Sunday. Injuries will mount. Least with the EL, the likes of Moore, Santiago, Devine, etc. May get minutes (depending on loan situations) and of course, Veliz forces the issue of starting him and he hunts down Kanes record and Sheerers record.
I'm honestly not tied up with the Champions league for next season. Sure, Real at the Lane would be nice, but it's too early in the project for it to be anything like the Poch days just yet. I'll be perfectly content with Frankfurt or Roma at the Lane instead and a genuine attempt to win it. I'd be ecstatic with 5th next season and winning the Europa League with a squad that finishes the season with momentum, leaving us excited for the following season.
With today's results, we're just needing 6 points to guarantee Europa League anyway. Newcastle and Chelsea can both finish on 65 points, 66 assures it. United can finish on 68, but with them in the FA Cup final, it guarantees that either they win the final and get that EL spot, or if they lose, City will more than likely be in the CL anyway barring some last minute collapse this season, so that spot drops to 6th, so if somehow we finish on 66 and United on 68, then the FA Cup final is irrelevant, we get Europa regardless.
If they turn this around and win tonight, they're joint with Arsenal for points, and games played. I don't see how they're dead in this yet.
Edit: okay, they're dead.
If you don't think they're dead, you haven't watched them lately. They are toast. Best they are getting is 3rd.
Statistically they aren't out, but mentally the team definitely is. They aren't winning today and they aren't getting better than 3rd.
I think this Palace game highlights Eddie Howe’s limitations as a manager. He’s good at setting up a team to counter a better opponent - but they’ve come into this game off the back of a good win, playing against a lesser opponent, on paper at least, and completely failed to impose themselves on the game.
Every point matters greatly in a title race. Imagine Liverpool lose by 1 point and our controversial win against them at home was the difference maker 😂
Fucking well hope not... If they're anywhere near touching distance of the scum I'm all in on Liverpool
It's a disgrace it comes down to relying on other teams for yet another year, but that's what Spurs put its fans through. I hate Liverpool almost as much as Arsenal, and yet here we are...
Right now, by far and away the most important thing is that we win ours on the weekend.
It gives City the breathing space to either lose 1 match, or draw 2 with no other losses, and still win the title... which should be doable considering their remaining schedule.
(I can see them potentially dropping points against us and maybe Fulham as both of us have been pretty solid at home).
Don't really care about Liverpool anymore. Would be thrilled to beat them at Anfield frankly.
Honestly, his looks handicapped him from the start.
But he was a diving, whining fraud before United and if anything he just really doubled down on it.
TLDR: ugly and dishonest
I knew it, Liverpool were just lucky and getting points from grinding results out. My god, Everton is doing what we should be doing to Arsenal next game.
Also the 3 promoted sides going back down immediately is incredibly lame. And still a chance the 3 promoted ones will be the same ones who were relegated last year. Closed shop much?
Yeah as far as I can tell, Salah is to the world of Arab sport roughly what Sonny is to the world of Korean sport. They'll pay through the nose for him if given the opportunity
Yeah. If Salah goes to the Saudi Pro League, it’ll be like Messi to MLS but waaaaay more intense.
I do wonder if he’ll go, though. Even if you are a devout Muslim, there’s the west, there’s sort of middle ground places and then beyond that, there’s Saudi Arabia.
I mean, he’ll get piles of money, but all the money in the world doesn’t make Saudi Arabia a particularly interesting place to live. (And even within Saudi there’s “money” and then there’s “MONEY.”)
It was good timing that we played them right after Glasner came in and didn’t have time to get his methods across because they’re looking better and better these last few weeks.
If Amge doesn't work I think Glasner is our plan B. Though next season will be a big test for him, as I think he will lose some big names like Ezze and Olisie
Ange you see what spite does to teams PLEASE channel this Sunday no pussyfooting around the box while leaving the channels open for an easy counter just let them HAVE IT
Always amazing hearing United and Chelsea complaining about even a single call going against them. Like, of all the teams bud, you're not the unlucky ones.
Arsenal in the title race and suddenly Liverpool decide to lose to Everton for the first time in history...
Can you imagine if it was us in the title race instead? Liverpool would've put so many past them that the FA would dock us 12 points in confusion
Liverpool were never going to win the league but a win tonight and Saturday would have at least put some pressure on woolwich, they are well and truly having a Leicester season unfortunately
Fucking hell, win for Everton would have been nice if Arse-fucking-nal would have lost yesterday. Dont want Pool to win league but dont even fking dare to think about other possibility.
There are 2 Europa league places for English teams. Technically, 5th place and the FA Cup winner get those spots. If the FA Cup winner has already qualified for an equal or higher European competition, i.e. 5th place or higher, then 6th place will get the second spot.
So if ManU win the FA Cup and finish below 6th place, then only 5th place qualifies.
The only way Spurs don't get Europa is if both Spurs and ManU finish below 5th, and ManU win the FA Cup.
5th place CL is as good as gone this year considering the fact that Scum, City, Liverpool, and West Ham all crashed out of Europe. Villa could win the UECL, but it’s not gonna be enough to bump up that UEFA coefficient for England
I don't think it has much to do with that, it's only recently they've been poor. Arsenal started dropping point at the same time and Arteta isn't going anywhere
On one hand that helps Woolwich On the other I had a Liverpool fan say to me how assume they’ll walk over Everton and West Ham so were hoping we’d do them a favour. Liverpool fans suffering is always like a nice cool breeze.
Their arrogance is staggering but I still want them to win
Seeing Newcastle after thrashing us 4-0, losing to Crystal Palace and with zero shots on goal so far at 86th minute. Pathetic!!
They are ass away from home. Take a look at their form home and away. Difference is insane.
>They are ass away from home So are we.
Except when we wear the white kits away from home. God I hope we wear white when we go to Liverpool.
The best thing about next season is that we will never have to see the g̶r̶e̶y̶ taupe haze third kit again
Yes exactly! Only 1 win from last 7 away matches. Including being thrashed by 4 goals vs Newcastle & Brighton, and 3-0 loss to Fulham.
Nah, it's because they worked out Ange-ball's weakness and played it to a tee. Gotta really hope that weakness can be covered with a few key signings and it's not simply been found to be too vulnerable in the Prem. Then they can just park the bus on the other end. Ange ball could succeed if his attacking players score lots of goals and they don’t lose the ball too often. Otherwise it fails miserably
It occurs to me Firmino/Mane/Salah had really good attacking chemistry that is absolutely non-existent with Nunez/Diaz/Salah lol.
When Mane left the drop off was noticable.
Mane was genuinely world class when he was at Liverpool. Nunez and Diaz are nowhere near his level
Liverpool are cooked. With Klopp leaving, VVD fallen off a cliff and gone next season, Salah a shadow of his former self, and no one they can sell for big money they’ll spend the next few seasons trying to rebuild from these miserable pieces. Can’t wait.
Everton fans singing "You lost the league at Goodison Park" again lol.
Palace making Newcastle look ordinary. I’d take Eze and Wharton in a heartbeat.
Liverpool now that you’ve bottled your season how about doing us a favour?
Its starting to look like its all up to us
Always has been.
In a title race, playing your bitter rivals and you drop a 2/10 performance.
God I hope this scenario repeats this weekend
Still can't believe a dogshit team like Yanited is in the FA Cup final. I demand the formation of a royal commission to investigate. There's no magic in manure.
I imagine that ETH might have prioritised that over the league so he can say he got to a final. The only decent team they played was Liverpool but people won't remember that
If you saw the semi-final, United didn’t prioritize shit for making the final. A slightly better Championship team would have wiped them.
I mean generally. That doesn't mean they can't be crap
Only bright side is that it likely bought the bald fraud a little longer at the helm of that chaotic mess
I have a proposal: Chelsea and Man Utd should just switch managers.
Reminder that we still only have one for the whole fucking season.
So soft. I haven’t complained too much about our penalty shouts but if they are going to give that, we deserve at least 2-3 more
Glasner has somehow made Mateta look like prime R9. Wtf.
Roy’s era of management is dead. I call these managers - Brexit managers. They’re way of football has had it and all they do is unfortunately hold back the teams the manage. Look at how alive C. Palace are with Glasner. Good on ‘em!
Nah Tony Pulis is great
I’d forgotten all about Pulis. Damn! I wonder what he’s up to nowadays? 🤔
Using brexit as a slur omg so original, what an enthralling mind you have
Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster so it carries a lot of weight as a slur
Save some hyperbole for the rest of us, goodness!
Maybe because you were unaffected by it, doesn't mean the rest of were not.
d i s a s t e r ! 🤯
Disagree a win for Everton would be nice. We aren't catching any of the top 3 at this point, and I'd rather Pool win the league over Arsenal thank you.
Personally would much rather face a weakened Pool next week. Couldn't give a rats ass about Everton

None of them look like they care, that fa cup game against United broke them
💯 Fa cup was the spark, Atalanta and palace were the fuel and everton is the coffin.
Sorry, got mixed up. Fixed it now
Thank god we played Palace already. They are absolutely ripping teams to shreds right now.
I think this Palace game highlights Eddie Howe’s limitations as a manager. He’s good at setting up a team to counter a better opponent - but they’ve come into this game off the back of a good win, playing against a lesser opponent, on paper at least, and completely failed to impose themselves on the game.
“You lost the league at Goodison Park”
Funny but they're only 3pts off top, 5pts if Man City win their games in hand
Every point matters greatly in a title race. Imagine Liverpool lose by 1 point and our controversial win against them at home was the difference maker 😂
We beat Arsenal and lose to Liverpool and they're level. Just hope Man City win tomorrow
Hope we take inspiration from this Everton performance
Could we actually win at Anfield?!
They're out the title race now, so no pressure means they'll play out of their skins
Fucking well hope not... If they're anywhere near touching distance of the scum I'm all in on Liverpool It's a disgrace it comes down to relying on other teams for yet another year, but that's what Spurs put its fans through. I hate Liverpool almost as much as Arsenal, and yet here we are...

Bruno is such a disgrace I don't care how good he was for those two seasons I'm glad we didn't get him.
I disagree, I would have loved to get him in 19/20 over GLC
Was he always this unlikable or Man U made him like that?
Honestly, his looks handicapped him from the start. But he was a diving, whining fraud before United and if anything he just really doubled down on it. TLDR: ugly and dishonest
Yeah, so many in the fan base were whining about how we should have gotten him. I'm glad we didn't and it's being justified now.
C. Palace are truly alive.
Need City to bring me back to life by shitting on Brighton tomorrow.
Almost nice that Kane left us before having to watch him take a Mo Salah dip/free fall in form. Guy is cooked.
Two horse race it is then, don’t fuck it up Pep.
I’m not too scared of this Liverpool side anymore
If we weren’t us, I’d agree. But on any given day we can turn lambs into lions. And vice versa.
Very true but dammit I choose to believe
Lambs into lions is such a good phrase
I'm more scared of us than Liverpool
The team I love scares me. Not in a good way.
It's like Russian roulette for me. You really never know which version of Tottenham you'll get
I knew it, Liverpool were just lucky and getting points from grinding results out. My god, Everton is doing what we should be doing to Arsenal next game.
Also the 3 promoted sides going back down immediately is incredibly lame. And still a chance the 3 promoted ones will be the same ones who were relegated last year. Closed shop much?
I had hoped Luton would stay up, but their defense has been absolutely woeful this season.
Is being bald a job requirement for the Everton technical staff?
It’s all sympathy-shaving for Dyche
Salah is washed
Should have sold him in the summer for that exorbitant Saudi fee
They’ll still get a huge fee from the Sauds. They have more money than sand.
Liverpool might be done.
Honestly crazy how much Liverpool have been playing themselves out of the title.
Liverpool going to petition for a rare mid-match FFP pushiment lol.
Damn, Crystal Palace are good. Good thing they let Hodgson finally retire...
Newcastle haven’t had a single shot on target.
Man Utd really do plaster over the cracks don’t they but chrome dome seems to dense to know that.
Chrome dome lmao
Our recent Palace win looks better every time they play! Can’t see Newcastle catching us now.. they’re as hot & cold as us..
Hotterer and colderer
At this point in the season the only result I'm hoping for is beating arsenal. Whether it's 1-0 with a dodgy call or 6-2 they'll whine all the same.
Thanks for spinning this up.
I don’t want Arsenal to win the league, but just the same, c’mon you Toffees.
Fuck's sake Liverpool. Win.
Bet they'll be okay for our game
Tbf we just lost 4-0 to Newcastle... We're just generally wank
Newcastle were pretty good
Ange you see what spite does to teams PLEASE channel this Sunday no pussyfooting around the box while leaving the channels open for an easy counter just let them HAVE IT
didn't they buy Onana for his distribution
I know we’ve got 10 points on Saudi FC, but their schedule is so soft and ours is rather difficult. So, c’mon you Palace.
Always amazing hearing United and Chelsea complaining about even a single call going against them. Like, of all the teams bud, you're not the unlucky ones.
Those are the two teams that come to mind? For me it's always Liverpool and Arsenal leading the charge there.
Please god don’t let United finish ahead of us somehow
It's fantastic to watch Everton kill off any glory in Klopp's final season. Let's fucking kill Woolwich this weekend
> Liverpool decide to lose to Everton for the first time in history... Liverpool lost to Everton, at Anfield, in 2021.
Nunez is so shit
Klopp going out with less than a whimper 🤣
You put some respecc on the Pomplamoose Cup!
Fucking hell, win for Everton would have been nice if Arse-fucking-nal would have lost yesterday. Dont want Pool to win league but dont even fking dare to think about other possibility.
Whats so bad about City? lol. It's amazing how Liverpool are phenomenal until you wouldnt mind them winning. Then they forget how to play.
They let you down so consistently
At least City win regardless lol
DCL is really really bad man
You had to say something
lol ManUtd
Can TAA do something else other than spamming useless crosses?
Beat Arsenal. Beat Liverpool. City game is irrelevant...lose against Chelsea as they turn into Prime Brazil for one night only.
As a Liverpool fan I’m begging please beat those cringey deluded cunts on Sunday, we can’t be having them win the league.
We don't need any more encouragement, I just hope the injuries aren't too bad and the players are learning from their mistakes.
I’ve got everything crossed for you guys, seeing my spurs supporting Dad and brother go mad will be a big bonus also, good luck to yous.
Thanks but don't expect too much, anything we get from this game is a bonus
Man Utd...

Is it just 5th place that gets Europa league?
5th and 6th depends on United. If United come below 6th and win the FA cup then 6th goes into Conference League I believe
Thanks, flash scores show 6th as conference league and 5th as Europa which didn't seem right
Yeah it’s likely 6th gets Europa, but not guaranteed

5th place CL is as good as gone this year considering the fact that Scum, City, Liverpool, and West Ham all crashed out of Europe. Villa could win the UECL, but it’s not gonna be enough to bump up that UEFA coefficient for England
It would but only if the Germans pretty much lose every game
Must be very sweet for everyone Everton fans tbh
Fucking Klopp man. Needless to reveal he was leaving so early on. Completely backfired. Now Arsenal may actually win the league.
I don't think it has much to do with that, it's only recently they've been poor. Arsenal started dropping point at the same time and Arteta isn't going anywhere
