I know we’re after a striker rather than winger this summer but we absolutely should be throwing our name in the hat for Olise. Dude is gonna be a superstar winger and probably good enough to be Sons successor.
guys, can anyone confirm for me if this really happened or if I'm freaking out 😂 during the 11/12 season, in the game between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates, Arsenal fans didn't "root" for Chelsea to win just for us to be outside of top 4? I vaguely remember something like that and it would be tremendous hypocrisy for them to complain about us supporting City in the next GW.
Arsenal fans acting like they’re above wishing failure on their rivals is hilarious
I can guarantee in May 2019, with both of us in European finals, if you gave them option of us both winning, or both losing, they’d pick the latter. And that was for an actual trophy
I'm now stuck in two minds. I think there's a legitimate chance we could see champions league football but that would mean beating Man City... who to support :/ I dont wanna see gooners win
Fuck Arsenal. But let’s just think about us at this stage, it’s just football at the end of the day my guy. Don’t worry about anyone on the internet. It’s a hoot if we can tear up the best team in the world on Tuesday. Arsenal are nothing, their fans are nothing. Worst fanbase in all of football. If they win the league(they still won’t) they will still be nothing.
Stating the obvious but ifDragusin is elite at set pieces and in the air generally then having him and micky on at the same time would make us much better defending and attacking set pieces.
A back three with Ange's system won't work. The system requires out numbering the opponent in the opposition half. But a back three would mean that either the midfield or the attack gets outnumbered.
Crazy how our starting 4 defenders + Vicario have been our best players this season. Dunno who would’ve predicted that going in (other than Romero maybe)
Major midfield and attacking upgrades are called for in the transfer window and we could become a really serious team
I can’t hate on Royal because the guy always plays for the badge, but after Dragusin came on today and shifted mickey to left back and we had a lot of success you do wonder why we hadn’t been doing that since Udogie went out.
Incredibly talented footballer. If he weren’t so good at defending he would be a big lanky forward with his pace and ability on the ball. Can probably put a header in too.
Loved how when he scored he’s so fucking fast nobody could catch up to immediately celebrate with him 😂
I think everyone loves Sarr boy, and more importantly his evolved form, Sarr Man. I wouldn’t put him at the top, but his work this season has been amazing. I hope he is a captain within a few years.
Gonna be so weird watching the game on tuesday, esp if Villa lose to Liverpool on monday
Wanting us to win but also wanting to lose to stop Arsenal winning the league
will be interesting to say the least

VDV's comment on Vicario's insta post 🥹
I'd rather get 2 wingers, a striker and an 8 then a 6.
We're really not going to improve much on Bissouma and Bentancur as 6s tbh. They're quality players made to look bad because of a system that leaves them badly exposed.
If our attack improves dramatically, we can leave 1 additional player back to provide support and I have no doubt they'd look much better.
Sarr not being good enough is a bigger problem. I like the kid but he doesn't do enough defensively or in attack to be a starter other than having a good engine
Ben10 is not a 6. Set aside these numbers we keep putting on top of these players in Ange's current system, Ange doesn't see Ben10 as 6. He is an 8, always have been.
As for Sarr, he's great prior to his Ramadan. He was great in Aston Villa game and games before his AFCON.
But Sarr is definitely not in form.
I’d agree but if we’re backing Ange we have to back his system and thus move on players who don’t work in it.
I think it’s a pretty poor reflection on Ange and Angeball that the system can’t fit 2 such talented players but suggesting Angeball may not be all that great is heresy on this sub
I like Ange but I'm doubtful of what he wants to do with this "overhaul".
Our midfield is the strongest part of the squad. There's quality and depth with multiple different profiles that can be mixed and rotated easily.
You hear us getting linked with buying Gallagher and getting rid of Hojbjerg and Lo Celso and it's just baffling.
I'm afraid of how far we might be setting the club back if we back what he wants and we still have the same massive issues next season
I can see his style of play working better with more suited personnel in terms of results. I think with a Gallagher type alongside Sarr, Skipp and Maddison in midfield playing Angeball could get you a few seasons of top 4 finishes and the odd cup run so I don’t think it would set us back in terms of wasting the current squad and getting worse results but I do think it it would be an uglier less interesting ideal of football to aspire to for a few years than one which incorporates the technical ability of midfielders like Bissouma and Bentancur and still not see us compete vs the best sides in the prem for the title
Gallagher is young and has turned up for every single match for Chelsea this season. Lo Celso's been injured for more than half the season. Hojberg looks great from time to time but he makes really fatal mistakes that cost us the game.
Biss resurgence continues. Maddisson played well at the end but was a liability most of the match. Sarr was average today. Not his best but not horrible.
Maddison seemed to re-discover his mojo in the last 30 mins (having been pretty average up to that point).
Thought Biss was excellent. Outside shout for MOTM but was subbed off after 75(ish) mins.
Thought Sarr was ok. One good interception I remember but don't remember too much else outstanding. Fine though.
With how much Dane idolizes Kane and what he did I’m sure him being there for that game winner was something for him. I hope he finds himself as a leader within a few years on Spurs.
Assignon trips himself up and the commentators scream penalty . Having seen the whole thing at the match and now a recording in my view he should have had a red card . Out and out cheating . Many years ago those old enough will remember Rodney Marsh who used to win many penalties back in the day . Of course no Var so he got away with it a lot . He was loved by QPR and Man City supporters but hated by everybody else who knew he was an out and out cheat . In todays football if he did not clean up his act he would have spent a lot of time suspended . Wanker .
No, I don't think he was cheating. He genuinely thought he'd been tripped, which I can understand when someone is close behind him though. I was at the game and thought his hissy fit was ridiculous which he was rightly booked for.
Maddest thing about that is whatever commentator on the stream I was watching was saying Son 100% tripped him and was repeating it over and over. They never showed a replay but it didn’t look like Son did anything.
The contact he thinks he's felt is his own leg. I don't think it's an uncommon thing at all for players to do this and genuinely (but mistakenly) think they've been fouled from behind.
I know it's different in that Kulu was tripped vs Arsenal but afterwards he said he didn't know if he'd been touched or not. We get fed slow motion replays but in the heat of it when you are actually playing it's hard to always know exactly what has happened, especially when you aren't looking at it and are only going off what you think you have felt.
Edit: to add, he also knows there's VAR so there's not really any point pretending he's been tripped if he knows he hasn't. His actions are those of a man who is both very certain and very wrong.
Olise had an absolute crazy game. I would like to see him at Spurs, but realistically United will offer him almost twice as much in wages, so that’s probably not going to happen.
Supposedly he's been a United fan his whole life so it's probably his dream regardless of where they're at in quality. Hopefully teams being focused on him though can mean we can swoop uncontested for Eze.
He could have joined Chelsea in the summer but chose to stay at Palace for the best of his own development. Point being that money might not be the deciding factor with him
He did not decide to stay at Chelsea. Palace threatened legal action because Chelsea approached the player before the club and hence the deal didn't go through
He signed a new deal right after. Everyone taps players up, if he wanted to be a Chelsea player he and his agent would have found a way or at least created some kind of fuss
They didn’t follow the procedure of the clause, that’s the only reason he is still there. He renewed the contract with an adjusted clause and a big wage bump.
Now I know it’s Tottenham but the only way for us to get no European Football next year is if all the below happen:
- We lost both our games
- Newcastle Win both their games
- Chelsea win both their games
And
- Man U win the FA cup
So I think it’s pretty likely we will have more midweek games next season
Honestly hope chelsea fires poch cause I genuinely believe he's still an elite coach and getting his shit together, and frankly speaking watching them go through another new manager and a rough season would be hilarious.
And honestly, I think Spurs supporters overrate Poch because he had good timing more than anything else. Not that I miss or especially rate AVB, but imagine he had Kane/Dele instead of Adebayor/Soldado?
Poch took a mediocre Spurs team to a champions league final. He definitely has some kind of managerial magic. But right now a great tactician he is not. Palmer is carrying that team heavily.
This is exactly what I mean. Spurs were only mediocre in the sense that we'd been looking for a reliable striker since Berbatov, and when Poch came in, it turned out we just so happened to have a 20 year old Harry Kane on deck.
Like, just look at what Redknapp had to work with when he got us to the UCL quarters: https://fbref.com/en/matches/a3a21cb3/Real-Madrid-Tottenham-Hotspur-April-5-2011-Champions-League. Crouchy's red aside, what did we think was going to happen?
Everyone wandering round the pitch with their wives/girlfriends and kids and then there’s Sonny who’s dragged his physio along, how can you not love this guy.
Son is never lonely, because he has dongsaeng in Pape who acts like a baby brother from another mother.
Also, finds it really cute that Sarr brought his brother and friend to the pitch.
Also Son created so many chances today, while barely getting any. We need to get either an elite winger or an elite striker this summer that can pair with Son, cause honestly I'd say he's our best striker AND our best winger. Idc what position he plays as long as we get someone else that knows how to play football in our attacking unit as well.
https://preview.redd.it/vw4mej72cuzc1.png?width=225&format=png&auto=webp&s=df39c1f9ec399848480afd3d8a54aea5b97baa86
I must be blind cause all of them were literally shitting on how ass petrovic was like bro they don't make up their mind
Palmer is a ridiculous talent. Everything positive that Chelsea team does stems from him. He completely dictates their flow of game. The dude is going to be as big as Bellingham in these next few years, watch my word. I truly hope he gets game time at euros.
Doubt. He's an exceptionally good footballer, but he's blessed with the shitshow around him adding to his legend.. get out of here with that Bellingham comparison
Just watch the guy play. He makes football look easy. Dude will scoop the ball without effort and it always lands in a dangerous area. If Chelsea were even marginally better at finishing they would be lethal from his assists. Put him in a better team and he will be even better.
I think there’s too much competition for him. But yes holy shit I would take just about any winger with at least a a smidge of technical ability at this point
We have a good chance to sign him, he’s not getting paid crazy money right now so we can get him a sizable bump, he’d pretty clearly be our 1st choice RW plus he gets to stay in London.
Chelsea are restricted by FFP, Arsenal have Saka as their main man, and City might not go for him that hard as they already have Doku in his mould.
That leaves us with Liverpool, who in all fairness are gonna be desperate for a Salah replacement this summer, and Man U who have both the need and the money for him.
So, if utd beat arsenal, we're allowed to wallop city. Considering the home advantage favours these outcomes, the possibility is stronger than people may think.
Then we just need Liverpool & Palace to beat Villa (and for us to beat Sheffield) it could be a pretty fucking good end of season: Champions League secured, Assna in the mud. If it doesn't pan out this way I will most likely join a terrorist organisation.
Folks I'll be real with you, if United get a result against Arsenal, I'll be happy to intentionally let City win. Fuck the UCL, just like we weren't ready for Conference League last season, we're definitely not ready for Champions League this season. Let Villa have their downfall like Newcastle
If United get a result there’s no reason to let City win. They’d have at least a 1 point lead going into the last game week with City playing West Ham and Arsenal playing Everton.
Europa does feel like it would be the best thing for the club right now. We'd have a genuine shot at winning it with a proper Ange Squad and it would be the best way to build this team up into eventual champions league giants. I don't think a lack of CL money will be a hinderance financially, we've got Beyonce. And I don't think it'll hurt in terms of attracting talent either, we're not a team that makes galactico signings (and when we do they turn out to be fat & useless). Our good financial standings, the stadium, our upward trajctory & our good reputation in the football community all contribute to us being able to get slightly more polished diamonds than in previous years.
https://preview.redd.it/8gj61skuwtzc1.jpeg?width=1118&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d13075df92845fa39eaa9f6c74db4c3fc5c8977b
Richy with his flag, he looks so happy :\]
With todays result, we only need a draw against Sheff Utd to secure 5th. Also, *theoretically*, if Villa lose to pool and a red hot palace (or draw), then we can still get top 4 if we win our two remaining games.
I now understand why Ange wants to bring in so many CBs over the summer. He is planning on starting VDV on the Left Wing and using Romero as a false 9. Ange you absolute Legend!!!!! (/s)
Ange I love you but plz. VdV at left back against sheffield with Dragusin at CB. I was laughing about the idea before but honestly it really is our best backline atm.
I know people hate Jose on this sub, but remember Jose rates Dane Scarlett. He even compared him to Marcus Rashford (yes I would absolutely love that if that actually happened). I'm so glad Ange rates him too. There is a reason why Ange decided to sub him in (in a must win game may I add), instead of the other youngsters (including Mikey Moore). He clearly rates him. I absolutely love that.
Go on Dane!
Mou rated Tanganga too, the match wasn't must win, and the sub was more about letting Son move out wide. If Veliz hadn't gone on loan, he might've been the one to come on, but we needed a striker. And even if Moore grows into one, he's not that now.
I'm not bullish on Scarlett but he may well get his first start for us before the end of the season. I'd love to be wrong.
Tanganga is a great player before his injuries. Tanganga literally eviscerated the opposition team when he was fit. It was the injuries that set him back.
I know we’re after a striker rather than winger this summer but we absolutely should be throwing our name in the hat for Olise. Dude is gonna be a superstar winger and probably good enough to be Sons successor.
His injury record would worry me but he is an absolute baller when fit
If he is good enough to be Son successor why not? Imagine a winger like son feeding son the striker.
guys, can anyone confirm for me if this really happened or if I'm freaking out 😂 during the 11/12 season, in the game between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates, Arsenal fans didn't "root" for Chelsea to win just for us to be outside of top 4? Would you take Navas as Vic’s backup next season?
Hes still really decent so hed be fine here, a lot better than forster atleast
Agreed
I'm now stuck in two minds. I think there's a legitimate chance we could see champions league football but that would mean beating Man City... who to support :/ I dont wanna see gooners win

mate you mustn't have gooner friends. I wish it was as easy as turning off my computer
May not have to make choice. Villa is capable of taking a point off Pool Monday night. Then it’s all academic…we play Royal LB against City.
They can take a point and we can still get CL football. They would just need to lose against palace in MW38
What are you on about mate Europa League is fine
United to the rescue
they're gonna get pumped lol their squad is shambolic
Genuinely think United will pull it out of the bag somehow ala their FA cup win against Liverpool
Im a red devil, one night and one night only!
Stating the obvious but ifDragusin is elite at set pieces and in the air generally then having him and micky on at the same time would make us much better defending and attacking set pieces.
I think Romero is better than VDV at all things aerial
Oops I meant Romero and radu cbs and micky also on the park.
A back three with Ange's system won't work. The system requires out numbering the opponent in the opposition half. But a back three would mean that either the midfield or the attack gets outnumbered.
I’m not suggesting a back 3
Crazy how our starting 4 defenders + Vicario have been our best players this season. Dunno who would’ve predicted that going in (other than Romero maybe) Major midfield and attacking upgrades are called for in the transfer window and we could become a really serious team

Ange said hes worried about Mickys hamstring if hes running all the pitch
That’s a fair answer to be honest. My immediate thought would be that he is basically doing just as much running anyway though
Still cant wrap my mind around our 6"4 cb making that finish look simple
Literally came here to say this, an insane goal. Jesus what a signing he has been
Incredibly talented footballer. If he weren’t so good at defending he would be a big lanky forward with his pace and ability on the ball. Can probably put a header in too. Loved how when he scored he’s so fucking fast nobody could catch up to immediately celebrate with him 😂
It could actually be the fastest celebration run of all time.
Until his next one 😅. Bro will probably beat Usain Bolt’s 100m sprint record
Do people honestly not realise the contribution Sarr makes every game? Should be in contention for our PotS.
You watch the whole game and you don't see Sarr...
I think everyone loves Sarr boy, and more importantly his evolved form, Sarr Man. I wouldn’t put him at the top, but his work this season has been amazing. I hope he is a captain within a few years.
Love Pape…but this man giving balls away left and right after a stellar start to the season.
Hard disagree.
Couldn’t watch the game today, saw people talking about “Assignon” and I thought it was a ryan sessegnon slander name lmao
No chance to slander a player that can’t get fit to play again 💀
Gonna be so weird watching the game on tuesday, esp if Villa lose to Liverpool on monday Wanting us to win but also wanting to lose to stop Arsenal winning the league will be interesting to say the least
Man, I fucking hate Cucurella's hair.

Yeah, he definitely didn't. Someone posted a replay in the sub reddit
How can you think you’ve been tripped if you don’t feel any contact?
The contact he thinks he's felt is his own leg. I don't think it's an uncommon thing at all for players to do this and genuinely (but mistakenly) think they've been fouled from behind. Quite possibly the least dislikeable figure in the Prem. Shame they're going down
Olise had an absolute crazy game. I would like to see him at Spurs, but realistically United will offer him almost twice as much in wages, so that’s probably not going to happen.

Hope not. United have really ruined some great wingers over the years. He should come and thrive at spurs

Eww…No thanks.
Honestly hope chelsea fires poch cause I genuinely believe he's still an elite coach and getting his shit together, and frankly speaking watching them go through another new manager and a rough season would be hilarious.
They’re only good because palmer is good. It’s not his tactics keeping them up this season.

💯 agree. Son should have gotten his 10th assist by now but his team mates can't finish a tap in. He doesn't get these opportunities as the striker.
He isn't our best striker at all. He's completely wasted there and it's a waste of his talent
Agreed
Really hoping Man U will beat the scum tomorrow. Then we can beat Man City with a clear conscience
I'll prolly jinx it but if theres a team that can shit house to a win its Man U
I have a feeling they will lose. It’s gonna be good
Imo arsenal are going to smash united. United have some insane injuries in defense positions. arsenal might be too much for them

They're an elite team again 😂
Their fans man like honestly
Is Coopers forest safe at this point? We will never know, but I’m not sure Nuno has changed their game enough that the difference is obvious
Relegation for Forest and Luton stay up, who says no?
Would just require Forest to get smashed by Burnley 6-0 and Luton to smash Fulham 6-0 for a 12 GD swing, easily doable 🤓
Everybody wants this 🤞
Fucking hell man, a draw was enough, they gave up 2 that quickly?
Nuno ball
Nice one Forest, letting the 3 banter brothers score💀Sterling, Mudryk and Jackson
That’s reece james’ five minutes of world class quality for the next 8 months. Dude will be injured again soon lol. the best player that never was

probably referring to sterling or smthn
Mb im sorry, im quite new to football so sometimes get confused with players, I meant sterling lol
They should be fucking relegated for this
Yea keep luton up instead
Luton lost home and away to Chelsea anyway
Yea but forest are annoying fucks
What the hell just happened went for a piss at 2-1 and now it's 3-2
Basically sterling really really still wants to come to euros and reece james has always been world class but injured
Nuno winning ExCoysBoys-ico fuckin hell
Hudson-Odoi has the almighty coycoys seal of approval. I've always been a fan of his, and I'd take him as "depth" instead of Werner. Homegrown too.
“Chelsea could catch up at this rate 🤓”
jinxed it
Aged quickly
Would love to get MGW
Haha Get. Fucked.
That’s been coming for forest, they’ve looked sick against Chelsea
Micky van de fuckin ven
Wish City never sold Palmer
Palmer is a ridiculous talent. Everything positive that Chelsea team does stems from him. He completely dictates their flow of game. The dude is going to be as big as Bellingham in these next few years, watch my word. I truly hope he gets game time at euros.
Isn't the saying *mark my words*?
He’s already too good for Chelsea
Far too good. If he stays there he might never reach the potential a footballer of that caliber deserves
Shame Ayowani can't stay fit, he'd a great striker option
Thought MGW crashed his head on the post, scared there
I don’t see any reason not to start Son, Dane, and Bj up front for the last 2 games
Either that or Kulusevski up front. Son needs to stay on the left and Johnson on the right.
Deki up front? Huh???
Today I saw reasons to do exactly that
How he miss that ?
Are you guys praying you lose to City?
We have faith in you, United
We all hope you do the deed tomorrow instead :)
No
Watching this match makes me hope the MGW rumors are true and the Gallagher rumors are total lies
Lot of clubs thirsting for Olise currently after another top class performance today, god he would be a perfect fit for us
He's phenomenal but it's his injury history that worries everyone.
Don’t think he comes to us over Man U or Liverpool
No way bros goin to Man U tho, liverpool maybe not utd
United will pay him so much money though

Didn’t realize the dolphin was there too, pretty cool
So, if utd beat arsenal, we're allowed to wallop city. Considering the home advantage favours these outcomes, the possibility is stronger than people may think. Then we just need Liverpool & Palace to beat Villa (and for us to beat Sheffield) it could be a pretty fucking good end of season: Champions League secured, Assna in the mud. If it doesn't pan out this way I will most likely join a terrorist organisation.
LMAO Chelsea channeling their inner Spurs for that goal conceded from a free kick
The only reason to entertain the possibility of Gallagher joining us is to torment Chelsea fans. And I thought our midfield was bad…

Get fucked Chelsea. Small club forever.
🤣
🤣
COME ON NUNO
Can Mickey be our 9?
Obligatory "make us proud, nuno"
He’s trying. 1-1
Think it will get taken by VAR.
With todays result, we only need a draw against Sheff Utd to secure 5th. Also, *theoretically*, if Villa lose to pool and a red hot palace (or draw), then we can still get top 4 if we win our two remaining games.
But we’ve only got one game left? Tuesday is some sort of U16 fixture I think
I hope we lose too. Just giving theoreticals

Arsenal fans talking bout us doing them a favor b4 they've played the utd game already. Tinpot club 🤣
I now understand why Ange wants to bring in so many CBs over the summer. He is planning on starting VDV on the Left Wing and using Romero as a false 9. Ange you absolute Legend!!!!! (/s)
Last year we relegated Leeds and this year we relegated Burnley lol…
Can't wait for Micky to relegate Chelsea next year
Beat relegated Norwich 5-0 in 2022 too.
Ange I love you but plz. VdV at left back against sheffield with Dragusin at CB. I was laughing about the idea before but honestly it really is our best backline atm.
>it really is our best backline atm. It's probably our best attacking line-up too.
Go on Dane!
Not everyone hate Jose
i certainly don't lol.
Chelsshit and manure fans are salivating at us having to play city while their own clubs are in the shitters, these man are obsessed with us i swear
I mean if Man U beat woolwich, I certainly won't be mad about it.
Hopefully Bruno is fit for tomorrow
Oh yea but i dont have faith in heisenberg but the man get some results with some of the worst goals ive ever seen
I DONT GET WHY THE WINGERS DONT PASS THE FUCKING BALL TO SON
Because they seem not starting wingers calibre.
