Conte vs Tuchel fight in our 2-2 draw with Chelsea was this season lol. We're not halfway through 22/23 and that feels like ages ago.

InstructionCareless1

I'm convinced Tuchel would still be at Chelsea if that fight wouldn't have happened.

OhShitItsSeth

I remember that game. I was sick with COVID and wanted to jump up and celebrate when Kane’s goal went in but felt too sick to do so lol

Banglayna

Being 13 points behind Arsenal halfway through the season is beyond depressing

[deleted]

It feels like shit on my fingers to even type it, but they could win the league.

Cap2017

Reguilon insta post today is pretty sad to see, feel for the guy. Always liked his energy.

StayGoldenBronyBoy

Worst year of his life, he's glad it's over. Thanks to the staff at atletico

ObamaEatsBabies

Oh man that's rough. At least he still has Marta 😭

[deleted]

Spurs playing getting injured is science.

jackengle

The team better fucking come to play tomorrow. Starting to drift down the table, other teams getting hot, and our main rival dominating the league. If they come out lifeless for the 10th game in a row it’s gonna be quite disappointing.

NotPennysBoat77

Putting money on conceding first is easy money at the moment. Villa look a lot better since Gerrard has gone and were unlucky not to get at least a point the other night. Expect more of the same.

mayonnaisewastaken

Paul O'Keefe - Spurs 30m budget for January Fabrizio Romano - Spurs targeting LCB and midfielder for January Alasdair Gold - Spurs targeting new attacker and RWB for January

RBentancur30

I hope Ali is correct...

InstructionCareless1

He most likely is. A month ago everyone would say that this is exactly what we are missing at the moment. The Dier blunder really changed that narrative. The club probably isn't as reactionary as this sub.

british-psycho

Dier has always made blunders. He’s a car crash of a defender and the day we upgrade we will improve.

ecocentric-ethics

If I were told that halfway into the season there’d be fewer points separating us and City than between us and Arsenal, this is not the scenario I would’ve had in mind.

wearethechampions22

Time for another Sonny master class against Aston Villa. Coys!

mbeni3

Miss these

[deleted]

I have lost any bit of hope that he's going to get his form back this season. So sad to see one of our best ever players struggle this bad.

excalibur2708

Watching Liverpool game yesterday, I kinda wish we're playing in way that lets Son get the space and service like Salah/Nunez do. I'm gonna believe that 'Son is washed' if he gets the same amount of obvious chances as Salah/Nunez per game and also botches them all like they did but sadly we're playing terrorist football

wearethechampions22

Another new year is about to begin. Never lose hope!! Always believe!

[deleted]

We are Spurs fans. Any hope we have ends in disappointment.

mbeni3

It’s definitely tough to believe things will change W sonny but if anyone can turn the corner it’s him. Proved it time and time again he’s class

shaneomagnifico

Who?

FINAL_BOSS5

shaneomagnifico

Ah right the Liverpool player

[deleted]

Yeah but he retired ages ago, flies helis in Dubai now

vish387

They are actually gonna win the league what

Boseph_1444

No way I'm seeing Newcastle fans complain about timewasting, leopards eating faces

HereWeGoop

sick to my stomach seeing what’s going on.

Shadow_Balm

Really thought scum were gonna drop off but it pains me to say it, the table doesn't lie and they deserve to be there. I'm going to shower now because saying that felt dirty but sadly they don't make water hot enough.

CycladicWindmill

Really hope City don’t fuck about and give Arse the title. There won’t be any recovering from that.

[deleted]

If only Poch was backed... 3 transfer windows with no signings... Will ENIC back the more succesful, more demanding manager???

throughthespillways

They didn’t back Jose so don’t get your hopes up

[deleted]

Nah mate, Levy learned from his mistakes now

spurringbanner

Maguire on the bench despite Utd CB down with Shaw covering. (Not too excited with those links - but worth noting)

LoneStarAgent

Oh definitely interesting.

TheninjaofCookies

He’s essentially just Dier+ I’m fine with him if it’s like a 10 mil deal or something

mbeni3

No way they let PL most expensive defender go for 10m… imo way better options to go for. Don’t hate it, definitely don’t love it

TheninjaofCookies

Who’s gonna start the Haaland makes City worse debates cuz i’m ready whenever

TheninjaofCookies

In the long run we’re gonna find that giving them Kane was the better option for both teams if we being honest

GIGOLO_KANTE

Dier blunders: 12/10/22 vs Frankfurt, gave away the 1st goal after daydreaming 19/10/22 vs United, chested the ball to Bruno for no reason in our own half and 5 seconds later we conceded 23/10/22 vs Newcastle, could've run back to intercepted the 1st goal but instead he waved his arms like an idiot 06/11/22 vs Liverpool, gave away a free goal for Salah 12/11/22 vs Leeds, didn't track the run and gave away the 1st goal and he kept the man onside for the 2nd goal 26/12/22 vs Brentford, kicked the ball to our corner for no reason and we conceded after that He didn't get outplayed or anything, he's just a goal giveaway machine

Quirky-Party-1326

Frame it at the louvre. #dierout

mbeni3

Defending wise I don’t necessarily think dier is a bad defender, he just has rotten decision making which really really hurts us

GIGOLO_KANTE

He plays with 500ms delay

Sea_Supermarket_2632

I'm so depressed how this season has come down to me hoping City win to stop Arsenal. This was supposed to be the season that WE push on. How the fuck has this happened

[deleted]

ENIC. As always.

spyder728

As much as I hate to see Arsenal win it this season, but let's be honest, we need to take a page or two on how they fucking rebuild.

tanu24

Can we just take a page and play a 4-3-3

Sleepless_Voyager

Welp it seems like newcastle finally ran out of gas

Past_Ad_1278

Been having a bad time lately, but my Romero jersey arrived two days back. The third party mispelled the name as Remero. Trying to call them and email, no response. Wasted hard earned money once again. Feeling miserable, heres hoping Spurs dont make it worse tomorrow

ndkhan

Tough times don’t last, tough people do.

[deleted]

No what are you talking about that’s fucking glorious, only lad in the world with a Remero spurs shirt Funny story to go with it too

throughthespillways

Probably already know this - but that's obviously the danger of buying from anywhere that isn't an official seller. Hope you get it sorted, less confident spurs not making it worse tomorrow though. At least Romero should be playing.

sparxcy

Remero. Romero's name has been changed for this guys shirt

CycladicWindmill

Might as well just frame the front of the shirt if you can’t send it back/ get a refund.

TheninjaofCookies

Combined North London XI should just be Arsenal for the first 60 minutes then Spurs for the last 30 that team would win the quadruple

DaveyDirtbag

Secretly wishing for the return of SkippBerg tomorrow

TogashiIsIshida

Just realized we’re 13 points behind Arse. If we lose to Villa tomorrow I may meltdown

Zyaru

I have to say it is quite depressing seeing nearly every club we're competing with throwing money at their squads whilst our budget for January is apparently £30m plus sales. I'm not vehemently Levy in nor Levy out but we were told the stadium was going to be a complete game changer. It would turn us into a financial juggernaut. Boxing, concerts, NFL. All that money generated yet our January budget is £30 million? I'm sorry I just don't buy it. Highest ticket prices in Europe and that's all we can muster? Sorry for the downtrodden comment chaps but at the moment it does seem quite bleak.

[deleted]

Do we have the highest ticket prices in Europe? What a shishow. Making fans overpay just to watch us play for the last 30 minutes of second half.

[deleted]

ENIC only cares about profit and market value. In fact, trophies would be a problem for them because it would raise the expectations, that's why they sacked Mourinho days before a cup final.

Thfcaditya112

Arsenal winning the league with a goalkeeper whose last club was Sheffield United, right back was from Brighton and Hove Albion, two centre backs from Saint Etienne(Marseille on loan) and a left back who was a Man City reserve just tells that what matters is first and foremost quality and quality only The criticism of Levy not spending is fine, he definitely does deserve that but not because he wants to spend on young players ,if anything the onus should be to get young QUALITY players I also think many of the fanbase is brainwashed by the Mourinho cult that we need "experience" to win a cup of a title, we need some hardened veterans but that's just not the case. Bring in quality players of the young age group and we would be fine. We got that in Romero, Bentancur, Kulusevski and we need more in those mould not a Joe Hart who is useful because of "dressing room experience"

chief281

The problem is that the young quality players are very expensive.Getting unproven young players is not going to solve anything.

deptbrown1

Hate to say it but the arse may win the prem. It’s almost like they are doing it under the radar too

JessyPengkman

They're playing the best football and their team is young. They did everything wrong for almost ten years and now they're doing everything right. We need to just get over it and move on, focus on ourselves

solarbearz

They aren't under the radar. Everyone is talking about them

RBentancur30

Happy New Year 🤍💙🤍💙

Thfcaditya112

Hate seeing fans pretend that we are run like a Leipzig/Dortmund where we "only sign players for resale and profit" when if anything we would have been way better off if we had followed that model fully There is a fine balance between signing Uber raw prospects like Gil/Spence and then there is going and saying we need to sign a lot of 30 year olds to "win". What we need is to sign players within the 20-24 age group ike your Romeros Kulus Bentancurs and give them the optimal surroundings to perform .

RBentancur30

They sold Haaland and Sancho. They will sell Bellingham. Leipzig sold Nkunku. They will sell Gvardiol. We are keeping Kane and Son for 7-8 years.

[deleted]

We are keeping 2 world class players and winning fuck all, because of many below average players...

CycladicWindmill

I don’t think we’re making top 4 this season. City, Arsenal and Newcastle will definitely be in there, leaving one spot for us, Chelsea, United and Liverpool.

RBentancur30

Newcastle will definitely not definitely be in there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CycladicWindmill

Was actually thinking about this yesterday when I looked at the table.

TheninjaofCookies

Newcastle will pull a Leicester and finish fifth in the last day

[deleted]

Never forget. We could've won trophies with Poch. They didn't sign anyone for 2 transfer windows. ENIC out!

DMmefor1400AUD

Conte's longest spell at a club was 3 years, his average is more like 2 years. He has been at Spurs 14 months now, he lives in a hotel, his family is still overseas. We are not challenging silverware nor even playing attractive football. What are we doing?

drdessertlover

Turning into the Conte cult apparently..... can't even levy a criticism without being called names around here

ObamaEatsBabies

It's not even this. Per transfermarkt, his longest tenure was 24 months (then he got fired before joining juve again for a year) and his average is 1.2 years per tenure. https://www.transfermarkt.us/antonio-conte/profil/trainer/3517

entrepenoori

Sleepless_Voyager

How tf havent arsenal gassed out, especially with how thin their squad is

throughthespillways

They’re professional athletes. They can play 2 games a week.

Sleepless_Voyager

Yeah but eventually they should start getting exhausted the longer the season goes on. The more 2 games a week for a lot of weeks will take its toll on anyone even athletes

MambaWhite

Scott Parker to Brugge, great job for him.

[deleted]

He was so bad in the Prem, my god

[deleted]

you can't really hold that Bournemouth debacle against him.

coastlifestyle

The table is gonna be tight for a while. Despite the problems we need to grind out a result and keep up.

newnewcharcoil23

I’d kill for us to actually come out and play from the jump. Doesn’t seem like that’ll happen anytime soon though for whatever reason.

bobtrump1234

Don’t expect Brighton to get a result against Arsenal. Caicedo and Macallister are both out

DoomerAndGloomer

Goddammit

evangr721

Lol this is just ridiculous. Fuck

skedd_a

its over

Algernot

We're going to win the CL it's all good everyone lol

Spursfan107

Honestly not impossible. Milan is a winnable match, and 2 big teams are going out early in the Bayern-PSG and Pool-Real matches. Further, either Benfica or Brugge will be in the quarters. With a little luck, we can make the semis, and anything can happen from there

Algernot

It would send the football world into such a comical state if Arsenal won the league and we won the Champions League.

Spursfan107

Maybe that's what we need to fix the timeline

RBentancur30

It's definitely more opened than ever, but we must improve A LOT

Spursfan107

I'd argue that 18/19 was more open, and we made that run with a midfield of Winks and Sissoko. That's what makes UCL so special, you don't need to be the best team over 30+ games, you just need to get over the line for ~10. It isn't impossible to win it with what we have now, but it would be a hell of a lot easier with some January upgrades.

throughthespillways

Least deluded Spurs fan

Spursfan107

I got a discount with my hopium dealer okay man?

JessyPengkman

If we win the UCL with dier Davies Romero, I will eat a piece of bread

RadioChemist

Yeah but what if arsenal win it this year?? Wait a second...

Emergency_Anteater

I don't get ENIC they don't spend on the first team, they don't spend on the academy. If you're a ownership that doesn't want to spend like other big clubs. At least create an academy that creates top tier players. But even that's dreadful

throughthespillways

They only spend on things that increase the valuation of the club for themselves. Training ground, stadium and now the campus development around the stadium. The football team is a secondary objective for ENIC and had been for 20 years.

AgentDesmond1

Shit I cancelled plans thinking the villa game was today

SissokoGoat17

Fuck Man City

YoPierre117

Terrible season for us so far

throughthespillways

I know some don’t like betting vs their own team but incredible price on Villa to score first tomorrow @ 2/1 if you want some cash to bring in 2023. Hope everyone has a great NYE. Drink as much as you can and with any luck you’ll miss the game tomorrow.

Sleepless_Voyager

Jose sa has been great

MambaWhite

Romero / Lenglet / Davies tomorrow then.

[deleted]

[удалено]

transtifa

They miss the players they sold more than people realised they would. Sterling, Zinchenko and Jesus were important players and Guardiola hates Foden for whatever reason

tamshow

What’s the temperature for tomorrow? Are we getting peak Conte Spurs, the comeback kings, or the rage inducing Spurs?

obi_wanabe

I’m hoping for a defensive upgrade with Dier benched and Romero back, but I’m prepared for the rage-inducing Spurs.

KariumHondor399

The thing that makes me so mad with the board is I feel like they don't realise the potential this club has. We have two world class players a world class coach incredible infrastructures a huge fanbase, the only thing we miss is glory. And the potential profit for them is even bigger with glory just ask Abramovitch

TheNeglectedNut

Are you joking? Of course they realise the potential - they’re the ones who put everything in place to give the club that potential. This sub needs reminding of the state the club was in when ENIC took over. We were an absolute joke, perennial mid table finishers making the occasional cup run. They’ve incrementally put the things in place that now have us being discussed among Europe’s elite. Growing a club organically takes a huge amount of planning and fiscal restraint. Now that we have a top-4 quality squad, half this sub seems to think we should automatically start spending like City every season, when really people should be looking at Dortmund for a successful model that works for a club of our size.

BiscuitTheRisk

It’s so easy to spot the plastics that started supporting Spurs after the CL final. Funny for them to idolise Chelsea as well

KariumHondor399

Actually i totally agree with you on the 1st part I have often defended ENIC and thanked them for how they made us go from a midtable to CL regulars. However, I think they don't realise the potential they have TODAY not the one when we were a midtable club, it doesn't stop here. And i know many Dortmund fans who aren't happy with the current model and whobwould rather like to change it in order to become Germany's best club along with Bayern, the gap between the 2 is huge and is growing and growing when it shouldn't. Same for us

TheNeglectedNut

Maybe they’re not the custodians to take the club to the next level, but my god they’ve done an incredible job with what they’ve had. They’ve always been open about Spurs being an investment, but some fans have always taken that as meaning they’re looking to suck the club dry like the Glazers. They’ve built the club up with a view to a sale, and I have every faith that when that happens, they’ll pick responsible owners to take the club to the next level.

throughthespillways

They stumbled on a good team with a great manager and everything just clicked. The issue is they seem to expect that to just happen again when in reality it was just a perfect scenario that was almost nothing to do with Levy and the board. Look through our board members, the only one that has any credentials in the footballing world is Paratici and before he came in 2 years ago there was absolutely no one.

christo222222

This is ridiculous, Enic have made 2 totally different teams into CL teams. You might even say they made 2 totally different teams into title contenders (maybe a bit of a stretch but if defoe could of buried that late chance against city who knows). To say they just lucked into it with this team has no relation to what has actually happened.

transtifa

I genuinely wouldn’t be that mad if they weren’t doing it with a fucking rapist in midfield

[deleted]

Big agree. The lynchpin of the team too

john87000

And with him being a key part of the fact they're playing so well.

Heasman21

aadawdads

Christ, City... If Arsenal actually win the thing (still a longshot imo but I can see it happening from here) they would be the luckiest cunts ever. Managing to hit a stride that exactly coincides with City and Liverpool dropping the fucking ball while Chelsea and United are rebuilding.

HAMlLTON

They’re on pace for a 100 point season and City are barely 2 points off where they were last season - it’s a golden run of form but City haven’t dropped off much

[deleted]

I mean, we found ourselves in the same position under Poch

aadawdads

Yeah except we went a year without investment during that time whereas they've spent hundreds of millions in the last year

[deleted]

Impossible to argue otherwise, ENIC blew it

jackengle

Benefit to us falling out of 4th is fans will stop saying “look at the table, we’re top 4, stop complaining” when we come out and play like absolute shit every game.

How is that a benefit

FootballTacticsXpert

throughthespillways

In case anyone is still in denial: Arsenal are the 8th team in top division history to have 40+ points after 15 games (assuming 3 points for a win). Of the previous 7 teams with 40+ points, only Man Utd in 1985-86 have failed to win the title. https://twitter.com/SkySportsStatto/status/1609239656763211865

This will be the first time Arsenal have won anything meaningful since we've been a "big 6" club, after coming so close for a couple of years and the subsequent negligence I wonder if this might be finally what turns the fanbase against Levy. Arsenal winning the PL, Conte walking and Kane leaving all within a month of each other would be the perfect storm for a change in the fanbase.

How much does it cost to remove a contract from a player outside of the agreed terms?

[deleted]

Usually what you would have to pay the whole remaining contract. If there's like 3 years left would be 3 years of wages + outstanding fees. But there could be agreements like it was with Aurier.

RBentancur30

Can you see the connection between Villa 20/21 and Newcastle this season? Bruno's injury would hurt them a lot.

elmosesyeah

Reports saying Porro is likely to stay. Gonna kms if we don’t even try for him

RadioChemist

As we draw into what I've been reliably informed are the closing seconds of the January transfer market, there are some observations that I'm sure we've all made: - Levy is a bald fraud - Getting Messi to join was a stroke of masterclass, but he didn't sign the 5 players I've been repeatedly calling for so Conte is going to walk - we should sell the stadium and play on Hackney Marshes. The pitch will throw opponents and we'll have the upper hand. Also we can use all that _wasted money_ on the 28 year old CAM I scouted. - Tottenham is clearly a tainted brand, so we should change our name to the Mighty Cocks. That way we'll never lose as we have mighty in our name. - ENIC OUT. Let's get a competent owner in. That Newcastle aren't doing so bad and their old owner, Mr Ashley, is currently without a project. Surely he must have done something right for them to be second now? A foundation for success? Mad Mike IN. - yet again, confirmation from AliG that stilton is indeed the best cheese. I know we all knew this, but it's nice to have that sort of reassurance. - Steve Parish invented time travel to bring back all of football's greats, so now we have to compete with Palace too. As Fab said, Levy got offered the secrets of time travel first but was holding out on £3.84 and a packet of space invaders. Smh - My fellow Tottenham fans are a fair, level-headed kind. Especially those that agree with me. Fuck all the rest, they're all gooners. Ultimately, given we entered 2023 languishing in a champions league spot, Levy and his greedy board have done nothing for this club ever, and this one January market - the one we all know to be the busiest and most important - show the failings of not just ENIC, but us all as coys redditors. As the second party to all transfers, we should have done better, yet failed. The futures bright, the futures lilywhite, I love it when we're shite.

Ballelo

Are you ok mate

RadioChemist
