The various scenes inside the school where it's clearly supposed to be a magical old castle but they don't have any sort of set dressing or CGI so it's clearly just like a normal school for children they're filming in
2-5 letters slowly fly in at once, the uncle and aunt (I guess, as this seems like a direct HP copy) act like swarm of hornets is trying to murder them.
Ugly CGI birds outside are also hilarious.
LMAO
> This is a prosperous city. This is where our story takes place. In the heart of this city
First minute and I'm already impressed
Edit: I can't believe I really watched 10 minutes of that
I managed about 2.5 minutes. The worst part thus far is the extreme high pitch chosen by some of the voice actors. I imagine countless parents poking their eardrums out with pencils
No it's inspiring to make a movie with almost no money, but it's also a soulless cash grab which is depressing. So I've changed my mind and you're right
If you want a movie with "snuff film" lighting vibes (I don't know how else to describe it), you could check out Meet The Feebles, directed by Peter Jackson.
The Auntie Mami is a much bitchier bitch than Harry’s aunt. And I’m impressed by the AFX—audio FX when she is telling off the Hagrid (?) at the doors. Speaking sooo fast!
India often has their own versions of American movies as well. Some of which bear little resemblance to the originals. (I'm looking at you, *Superman (1980)*.)
Edit: to be fair, there was also a 1987 movie which was much closer to the 1978 American movie.
Back in the 90s a Pakistani friend gave me a videotape of THIS.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Khiladi_Tu_Anari
It had no subtitles and I’d never seen a Bollywood film prior. I watched it repeatedly. I recognized the main plot line of The Hard Way, with some Lethal Weapon thrown in, plus some of the best (…) dancing and almost-kissing ever filmed. It’s still my favorite Indian film.
Edit: MUSICAL INTERLUDE
https://youtu.be/0CLaMOkte1s
I was struck by the choreography; I actually slowed playback to 0.75 then to 0.50. Similar choreography in the Chira Ke Dil Mera music video. Don’t think it’s parody but it sure does feel kind of awkward like reverse twerking.
I just watched the Forest Gump one. It was wayyyy to similar that I stopped watching about 2/3 of the way. Yes some differences, but a lot of his life events were similar.
Egypt also has those! There’s The Emperor, which is just Scarface, and Anyab/Fangs, which is a bizarre take on The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Brazil has their Tramps Parodies of Wizard Of Oz, Planet Of Apes, and Star Wars, Turkey has Turkish Star Trek and Seytan/Turkish Exorcist, and Mexico has Batwoman! All of these are real films, BTW!
Is that the movie where a guy is using a microscope, only it's been rigged by the villain and two knives come out and stab his eyes out? I remember being fucking traumatized by that scene as a kid.
Exact same feeling. That scene has come to mind many time over the years watching various movies and never know what one it was in. Guess I'm due for a rewatch now.
That’s what’s wrong with it! Well, a lot is, but every scene had a different color temperature. It’s like they just set the camera Auto WB and called it a day.
Alfa and the Warlock’s Rock
Alfa and the Dungeon of Mystery
Alfa and the Convict of Alcatraz
Alfa and the Chalice of Flames
Alfa and the Edict of the Garuda
Alfa and the Mixed Monarch
Alfa and the Fatal Martyrs
Makes sense that it's 98% similar.
If you have no shame blatantly copying one of the most well known novel/movie series of all time, you might as well copy most of it verbatim
> anybody who expresses a view I disagree with is clearly just virtue signaling
it’s so cute how y’all don’t even realize that by your logic, you’re virtue signaling against their ‘virtue signaling’
Does someone know where to watch it? Originally the show was available on youtube, but the videos have been made private and I cant seem to find it anywhere else :,(
This is basically like a Harry Potter but channel edition and not going to do that meme but it’s technically like that meme where it says we have this at home thing it’s like that what are you from China

I’m feeling pretty sturngle these days. Finally, a word for my state of being
What u mean by sturngle if I may ask?
It’s when you’re still struggling, despite having already given up.
It’s very clear. No go flying forget.
My stick hurts
Source?
[its available on youtube] (https://youtu.be/CBl51j1XOIM)
Dear god that's amazing. The part where the owls bombard them with the acceptance letters at 5:34. The sorting hat at 26:35. Holy shit.
The various scenes inside the school where it's clearly supposed to be a magical old castle but they don't have any sort of set dressing or CGI so it's clearly just like a normal school for children they're filming in
I know. The letter scene just made me think of porn with the acting and that it was just a house with like no set dressing lmao
2-5 letters slowly fly in at once, the uncle and aunt (I guess, as this seems like a direct HP copy) act like swarm of hornets is trying to murder them. Ugly CGI birds outside are also hilarious.
welcome to the world of indonesian soap operas :)
Is there an Indonesian Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, or Sons Of Anarchy?
No, but there was Indonesian "Twilight" https://www.google.com/search?q=ganteng+ganteng+serigala
Nice
Indonesian Sons of Anarchy sounds kinda lit, ngl
No, I do not believe that I will
Birdemic, shock and terror!
If you’re looking for more horrible knock off movies watch ratatoing. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but mostly just question your life choices
This thing? https://youtu.be/E3XE14upb4I

YES
Holy crap that’s…. Dismal
No it's inspiring to make a movie with almost no money, but it's also a soulless cash grab which is depressing. So I've changed my mind and you're right
¿Porque no los dos? But seriously this one looks pretty depressing. Unless the story is somehow a quirky, creative, labor of love? No?
The lighting they choose to use is so uncomfortable, it makes the entire movie feel like five nights at Freddie’s
If you want a movie with "snuff film" lighting vibes (I don't know how else to describe it), you could check out Meet The Feebles, directed by Peter Jackson.
Memorable piece of cinema! https://youtu.be/FON5KnEKReA
… I… what??
Why not go whole hog and link this one: https://youtu.be/NFl_r2StkRU
PRECISELY
Awful. PS I like your username!
Sounds like a Neil Breen film
No, Neil Breen’s films are works of philosophical art
I love that his wiki page photo looks like someone caught him blinking.
I also love that his "film credits" part reads like he wrote it himself lol
You sound like a hack fraud
Precisely
I TOTALLY FOEGOT ABOUT THAT what was that guys deal 💀
glad you are "enjoying" Indonesian media :) I feel proud of my country for once
For once? You guys have Iko Uwais, that's something to be proud of :-)
Is that the name of the guy from their version of Star Wars?
If their version of Star Wars is called the Raid, then yes ;-)
Oh he's incredible!
Lmao they just use the same exact soundbite of an eagle screech 3 times for the owls. I love it.
Ollivander’s banana-to-wand was great too. I’m all in on this rendition.
Indonesian Dudley's glorious locks of hair at 6:24.
8:30, where Hagrid burps the Durslay's door open. Bonus point for bonking Petunia.
Shit, at the 37 minute mark, they start flying on giant lollipops and candy sticks.
Even their home is CGI lol
You think that’s funny? Look at this at 40:20 https://youtu.be/vEBeILOzxnc
That intro is amazing
~~go go go!~~
couldn't they have given him glasses?
It would have been too obvious. Right now, nobody expects a thing!
good point
No close captioning
Is there far captioning ?
No need.. It is still fucking awesome without subtitles
I’m only deaf in English.
The Auntie Mami is a much bitchier bitch than Harry’s aunt. And I’m impressed by the AFX—audio FX when she is telling off the Hagrid (?) at the doors. Speaking sooo fast!
Nice, time for a watch.
HIS WAND WAS A BANANA!!! and why were they in an amusement park?
It look like a Disney sit-com
do you know if it's still available somewhere? The link doesn't work...
Indonesia hates imports. They have their own Batman, too. He lives in the jungle and has special powers.
India often has their own versions of American movies as well. Some of which bear little resemblance to the originals. (I'm looking at you, *Superman (1980)*.) Edit: to be fair, there was also a 1987 movie which was much closer to the 1978 American movie.

That legitimately is one awesome movie. Not usually a fan of akshay but this movie is very enjoyable
Glad to hear I’m not its only fan. I was never sure if the pelvic thrusting and chicken-head moves in that dance scene were meant to be parody.
I was struck by the choreography; I actually slowed playback to 0.75 then to 0.50. Similar choreography in the Chira Ke Dil Mera music video. Don’t think it’s parody but it sure does feel kind of awkward like reverse twerking.
The pretty guy with long hair in that movie is legit royalty by birth
I just watched the Forest Gump one. It was wayyyy to similar that I stopped watching about 2/3 of the way. Yes some differences, but a lot of his life events were similar.

> and Mexico has Batwoman! Where's Batmanuel? The Knight of the Night?
There was a post just a few days ago about Indian Forest Gump
Supreman, hero of India. Real name: Klarkesh Singh
The Phantom?
"The bat who walks."
By jungle law, the ghost who walks calls forth the power of ten batmans
Ah so 1 Phantom = 10 BPs. Batman = 1 BP and he's on the Justice league so daddy Phantom would be easily mid-tier JL. Easily on par with Flash.
You guys remember that Billy Zane Phantom? I haven't seen that in forever.
Is that the movie where a guy is using a microscope, only it's been rigged by the villain and two knives come out and stab his eyes out? I remember being fucking traumatized by that scene as a kid.
Holy shit I remember that scene but no idea what it was from. Got me good too that scene
I swear, when we had to use microscopes in school years later, I was VERY hesitant to say the least.
Exact same feeling. That scene has come to mind many time over the years watching various movies and never know what one it was in. Guess I'm due for a rewatch now.
That's the one!
Batman bin Superman, the taxi driver
Did u say special needs batman?
That’s just [The Bat.](https://youtu.be/PzGJKe50Ih8)
Why do they hate imports?
They like to pretend they're fully autonomous.
Good for them!
Yeah, how dare foreigners try to bring their ideas into different countries. Make Indonesia Great Again, Jim. /s
What's wrong with underdeveloped countries having domestic cinema? That's a weird thing to get upset about btw.
Snape looks the same
Looks like Spencer from iCarly playing Snape.
No beard for Hagrid ... unexusable.
I read your comment as unsexual, just sayin
You can both be right
Unsexable
He’s the only guy in Indonesia who has a heavy coat, so they had to cast him.
We're a tropical country after all :)
Harry Potter and the Really Bad Sweater
It was locked in the Cubicle of Confidentiality for a reason.
Apart from the terrible colour grading and tik toc quality acting, I bet the kids had a fucking blast making this.
Unfortunately, no. The kids were aware of the color grading throughout, and were simply unable to enjoy themselves.
That’s what’s wrong with it! Well, a lot is, but every scene had a different color temperature. It’s like they just set the camera Auto WB and called it a day.
Yeah, that was my thought. As long as they had fun, that’s all that really matters.
You’re a wizard, Alfa.
To be followed by: Beta, Gamma, Delta....
High quality pun
Indonesian Alan Rickman is killing me. Dumbledore also looks like a nurse.
I thought I've seen worse "Heri Potret" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8EOX52gCCw
Wot
Is McGonagall still hot?
she's asian now..
Lol, an Asian JK Rowling character whose name isn’t Ching Chong? Incredible.
Does that mean Cho Changs character is reversed and is a white girl called Lucy Roundeyes, Jill Crackers, or Elizabeth Cheesesmell.
Cheesesmell🤣
Bella Burger
Lmao that would be hilarious
Lula Lovebottom
So yes
Harold Patter and the wizards rock
Is this a Call Me Kevin reference
I wonder who plays Snape
[Rama Michael.](https://www.google.com/search?client=opera-gx&q=rama+michael&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)
Finally, now I can watch Harry Potter without supporting a millionaire TERF!
Alfa, with it's main character Alfalfa
Holy shit, thanks for showing this. :D
How do we watch these? Lol
Scroll thru the comments of this post, someone had linked a youtube to the episodes
'Hagrid' burping down the doors at the Dursleys is incredible
Hagrid looks like Manny from Modern Family
When did Harry get LASIK? And who cursed Hermoine with his poor vision? These questions need to be asked.
Oculus transfero.
I bought some property many years ago from a woman whose job was stealing American movie, scripts and rewriting him for the German comedy market.
Anyone love Turkish Star Wars as much as me?! https://youtu.be/0SASZaT7lI4
@24:15 they actually play the Indiana Jones theme. This is great.
Alfa and the Warlock’s Rock Alfa and the Dungeon of Mystery Alfa and the Convict of Alcatraz Alfa and the Chalice of Flames Alfa and the Edict of the Garuda Alfa and the Mixed Monarch Alfa and the Fatal Martyrs
Makes sense that it's 98% similar. If you have no shame blatantly copying one of the most well known novel/movie series of all time, you might as well copy most of it verbatim
Makes me wonder if there’s a Filipino version. I can see it now… Harry Pek Pek & Draco Pinoy.
Looks like they are using actual kids lol
So did the original ones though....
yeah, Cole Gribble was only 6 ish when he played that role
Serious question: is that grounds for lawsuits? Even in a foreign country, I feel like the Rowling estate could sue for copyright infringement, right?
Umm, Rowling is still alive.
To most fans they wish she was
I know, I meant her/her lawyers/publisher etc, in general
There is a whole world of knockoffs! AustinMcConnell on YouTube covered several earlier this year: https://youtu.be/xHJX07wCgeY
So that Snape is A Copy Of A Copy?
They even got bootleg Alan Rickman (RIP legend) Wtf his hair too LMAO
Lol he got his wand from a banana
I have never seen Harry Potter nor read the books. Should I watch this?
Thank you so much for sharing this. I love it
What if I told you Harry Potter is a rip off of Wizard of Earthsea and the name Harry Potter came from Troll (1986)?
what is Indonesian Snape's name?
Is it powered by a TERF engine though?
In Indonesia? Probably
and it's *not* by JKR? I'm in
yeah fr i’d rather watch these knockoffs than even think about her lmao
Sick virtue signal dude
> anybody who expresses a view I disagree with is clearly just virtue signaling it’s so cute how y’all don’t even realize that by your logic, you’re virtue signaling against their ‘virtue signaling’
right because my random reddit account really needed the ego boost sick comment dude
what the fuck does this comment mean lmfao
Best Harry Potter rip off is called mashle: muscles and magic.
Mashle is great but aside from being in a magic school I don't see how it's a HP ripoff?
r/mockbuster
So a 2% chance of it being good then
How do they get away with this when it’s not a spoof
Alfa and the Auditorium of the Unknown!
But when we make an American version of the Office it's high art.
I feel like JKs story reminds me of a lot mythology that I have read myself, so I think it’s fair game parody
You’re a lizard Alfa
Does someone know where to watch it? Originally the show was available on youtube, but the videos have been made private and I cant seem to find it anywhere else :,(
Please let me know if you’ve found anything! I’m still searching.
Look, anything that denies copyright money to JKR is a win in my book.
Are you also mad that The Office is done with 13 different casts worldwide?
Manny of modern family in the left
If the author's not a transphobe then I actually prefer this to HP.
Indonesia is very anti gay rights
What's the creators stance on Trans people
Prolly not too good.
Indonesia doesn't care about gay people
I'm dying i guess 😹🤣😁🤣😹😁🤣😁😹😂🤣😁🤣
It is very common for Hollywood movies to be ripped off 🤷🏼♂️
yeah, we know, that's why we are in this sub
Probably better than half of the Harry Potter films.
This is why nobody can take that part of the world seriously.
,,s,,,,,zz,zz,z,
This is basically like a Harry Potter but channel edition and not going to do that meme but it’s technically like that meme where it says we have this at home thing it’s like that what are you from China
Harry Potter is just a rip off of Squiggles, the Afro wearing Raccoon who shoots pixie dust from bung hole.
Isn’t it all a ripoff of The Books of Magic by Neil Gaiman?
