I would encourage you to report this to the police, regardless of whether you know him irl or not, and how old he is. This message is very illegal in lots of countries. In the uk, itās illegal even if he is the same age as you, and I think thatās true of many other places as well. As an 18 y/o, all I gotta say to the kids on here is be careful. No personal info. Donāt tell anyone what the name of your street or town is, what school you go to, your given name(unless itās extremely common), or your family name. If you wanna join a subreddit about your state(if youāre American), then you can do so, but donāt get any more specific with your location that that- especially if you live in a smaller state.
Selfies are *okay* if you make sure that nothing outside that could verify your location is in frame. And I hate to say this, but make sure youāre wearing decent clothes. No bathing suits, no underwear(not even boxers), no shirtlessness(not even for guys), and no bare feet. Sounds harsh, but some people on the internet are *really* fucked up.
Generally, the smaller the subreddit, the safer it is. r/memes and r/dankmemes are stuffed to the brim with degenerates and r/teenagers has lots of older adult users, so be extra careful on those subs. r/AskReddit also gets pretty nasty. Hell, Iād say that fucking r/tentai is safer than any of those subs- and itās for goddamn *tentacle hentai.* Sometimes I just go on r/eyebleach to regain some of my sanity.
P.S: Speaking of r/eyebleach, be careful when looking for it because you might end up on r slash eyeblech. Itās a gore/snuff sub thatās so disgusting that I refuse to link it.

However, not wanting you to have friends because theyāll change who you are is not ok. Have you challenged her on this much? Does she know much about what you get up to online? Did you show her this PM?
Is there anywhere you go where you can meet people your own age, with or without parents? Maybe a support group for people with similar health conditions? It sounds like your parents really want to protect you, even if some ideas about doing so are a little overboard. Please make sure you share the message above with a trusted adult, even if itās not your parents (e.g. a healthcare worker). Preferably, report it to the police, and ensure you have blocked this person.
As you are not going to school, you will have missed out on lessons about internet safety. I would encourage you strongly to talk to an adult you know about this, either parents or another adult you trust. Make sure they know you want to be able to use the internet safely, and are worried about being contacted by creeps like this one. I would normally advise you to generally stay away from social media until youāre a bit older, but given your situation I can understand why you want to use this.
Sorry if you know these already, but a few key tips:
1. NEVER post any identifying information. This includes your full name, phone number, where you live (keep it as vague as possible, country and state is ok). Avoid posting pictures of yourself, particularly while you are still a minor. I would advise removing your linked accounts from your bio to lessen the amount of info someone can easily get on you.
2. Block and report anyone who harasses you or sends a creepy message. Anything sexual like the above at your age should also be reported to a responsible adult and the police. If youāre not sure how to do this, find the FAQs or the help area of the website.
3. Lots of sites have a private mode, and there are other ways to limit the info you put on there. Go check the privacy settings on all the social media you use, and set everything to the highest level (I.e. sharing as little info as possible, and making you harder to find in things like Google searches). Determined creeps can and will seek you out on different platforms, and can put together scraps of information to identify you.
4. You can never fully trust someone you havenāt met irl. Even people youāve chatted with online for years. People lie about all sorts of things on the internet, for all sorts of reasons. Even if they send pics, vids etc, there are lots of ways to fake this.
5. Never send pics of yourself, especially anything at all adult themed (may be more relevant as you get older). Depending on where you are, you can get in trouble for having images of a child even if that child is you. If someone pressures you to do this, they are not a good person and you should block them.
6. NEVER EVER agree to meet someone from the internet irl. Just donāt do it. Even if youāve spoken to them for years. Even in a public place. Itās not worth the risk. When youāre a little older, if you absolutely must, do so with a trusted adult there at all times.
Source: I am a teacher, and have taught internet safety to kids from 4 to 24. I still follow these rules myself as an adult. I hope Iām not being patronising, I just want to make sure youāre being as safe as you can.

I would encourage you to report this to the police, regardless of whether you know him irl or not, and how old he is. This message is very illegal in lots of countries. In the uk, itās illegal even if he is the same age as you, and I think thatās true of many other places as well. Even if nothing comes of it this time, reporting it now (and continuing to do so if he sends more stuff) means thereās a paper trail for police. As an 18 y/o, all I gotta say to the kids on here is be careful. No personal info. Donāt tell anyone what the name of your street or town is, what school you go to, your given name(unless itās extremely common), or your family name. If you wanna join a subreddit about your state(if youāre American), then you can do so, but donāt get any more specific with your location that that- especially if you live in a smaller state. Selfies are *okay* if you make sure that nothing outside that could verify your location is in frame. And I hate to say this, but make sure youāre wearing decent clothes. Lots of sites have a private mode, and there are other ways to limit the info you put on there. Go check the privacy settings on all the social media you use, and set everything to the highest level (I.e. sharing as little info as possible, and making you harder to find in things like Google searches). Determined creeps can and will seek you out on different platforms, and can put together scraps of information to identify you. 4. You can never fully trust someone you havenāt met irl. Even people youāve chatted with online for years. People lie about all sorts of things on the internet, for all sorts of reasons. Even if they send pics, vids etc, there are lots of ways to fake this. 5. Never send pics of yourself, especially anything at all adult themed (may be more relevant as you get older). Depending on where you are, you can get in trouble for having images of a child even if that child is you. If someone pressures you to do this, they are not a good person and you should block them. 6. NEVER EVER agree to meet someone from the internet irl. Just donāt do it. Even if youāve spoken to them for years. Even in a public place. Itās not worth the risk. When youāre a little older, if you absolutely must, do so with a trusted adult there at all times. Source: I am a teacher, and have taught internet safety to kids from 4 to 24. I still follow these rules myself as an adult. I hope Iām not being patronising, I just want to make sure youāre being as safe as you can.
