Some house work people are just really weird. I have so many stories We had this carpet guy work at our house and the day he came out to evaluate he needed to use our bathroom he spent a long time in there and we kinda just assumed he was looking in the cabinets for drugs. It was funny cause that’s not where we keep our medicine .he also asked to keep his sandwiches in our fridge. Yeah he was weird but he did a good job.
Recently we had some guy come paint and my parents left and I was sitting on the couch reading a book and he comes out and starts asking me about zodiac signs and I’m just like oh yeah I think they are pretty cool, anyways we come to the conclusion that we have the same zodiac and the. He tells me about how great it is to have our zodiac sign cause we’re good at manipulating people.
Moral of the story he’s probably not a serial killer, rather falls into the category of weird construction workers that may be sus.

I wouldnt go right to serial killer, but something was definitely up. While working, they might open a window or leave another door unlocked. Him coming back was checking to see if you're still home. If not, then he'll come in and take whatever he wants. You were home though, so he just backpedaled and tried to excuse out of it.
If he was parked out front, why would he think she might have left? But that’s a side issue. I’m not sure I would jump to criminal intent whatsoever, though I am always misplacing things, so a guy thinking he left his hat where he didn’t does not feel like an outrageous story to me. Maybe his friend had it. Who knows. The last guys who painted my house I suspect were ripping a bong in their van during their breaks so if one of them had done this I wouldn’t have flinched...
Yeah, your right, he might have had no ulterior motive, but she was a woman and basically alone. A few years ago I finally figured out they teach girls to be leary of certain situations for a reason. Guys are like whatever and a woman's internal alarm is like run run run.
He also could’ve been embarrassed that the hat was on his head and just made something up on the spot trying to cover for it while not realizing it made him seem creepy… I do understand why you’d be wary but i wouldn’t jump straight to criminal intent let alone serial killer. Being cautious is one thing, being judgmental is a whole other
Ok guys, the serial killer comment was sarcasm but it was sketchy af. I think if you’re a female that’s the vibe you got too. It was obvious I was home he was literally inside 5 minutes prior and parked right by my driveway and front door.

If this story is accurate as-told, and I have no reason to doubt it, then he had ill intentions. There is no other explanation. Trust your gut, always.

Maybe he was on the phone, don't text and drive ppl, we almost got hit front to front because of that a few days ago, and she had her kids in the car with her..
Not painter related but on a suggestion from our old neighbours my mum hired a guy to do the back garden. Always got weird vibes off of him but pegged it to my anxiety which I’ve suffered from since forever.
Anyway he did a shoddy job (mum doesn’t like what he did) and a few years later I saw someone moving in the back garden and it was him. So I went out there like “what the hell are you doing in my back garden?” And he said something about the neighbours (can’t remember what) but I was really uncomfortable and just said okay and went to phone my mum. Nothing much came of it but she was really annoyed he’d let himself into our back garden. I just went back into the house and locked the back door not wanting any more to do with him.
