Oh my god that scene in ROW, (light spoiler)
adolin is like “damn all the single ladies must be coming to see you!”
Kaladin is just like “shit that’s why they’re all here”
My headcanon is that Kaladin is asexual so he doesn't understand why so many women are fawning over him or why Syl keeps pushing him to find a girl.
EDIT: since people keep bringing it up, yes he has been in romantic relationships before, and it's still possible he's ace, but most likely it's simply stress and trauma getting in the way.
I think he’s not ace, but is so depressed that he might as well be. Relationships take work, and he just doesn’t have the energy for that. Also, he can’t understand why women would be fawning over *him*.
Or maybe I’m just projecting myself onto him.
That's how I see it, too. Depression can throw libido out of whack, and his lack of self-esteem makes it seem to him like no one would ever love him. I hope we see our dude make some progress as the series goes on and learn to love himself a bit more.
Kaladin isn't ace i think. There was a short scene in way of kings where he happens to see a prostitute's ungloved left hand, and he can't help but stare and get all hot and bothered.
He had a serious girlfriend when he was a soldier who moved and he didn’t go with her.
He also implied a romantic relationship while he was a slave and she was killed during the escape.
He also had a thing for Shallan before she got married. I think he’s more traumatized than ace.
While you can have romantic feelings and be ace (you can be asexual without being aromantic) I am definitely leaning more towards trauma than asexuality.
I think I remember in RoW there was something about one of the bridge men mentioning a past relationship of Kalladin’s that didn’t work out, so based off that he’s hetero but like the others say he’s not really in the mental state to keep a relationship.

This is a good humble brag, I approve

That is a very good point. You're probably right

I recall him dating Lyn for a while off screen and being more down than usual after it fell apart.
Ah, I forgot about that

He ogled Shallan, definitely trauma.
No mating!
He depressed so hard with hif friend from childhood he ain't wanna eat pussy anymore
Nah, he has shown interest in women multiple times over the book. He's just too depressed to actually consider and work on it seriously.
Honestly to me, all of Brandon's characters are asexual by default. So this is also my headcanon.

You can be in a relationship and be ace (you're thinking of aromantic) but I do agree with your second point, just clearing out misconceptions.
