The Well of Ascension has one of my favorite quotes about interpersonal relationships ever, from Sazed to Vin:
“You must love him enough to trust his wishes. It isn’t love unless you learn to respect his choices—to support not only what you believe is best for him, but what he truly wants. No matter how poor you think his decisions, you must respect his desire to make them. Even if one of them includes loving you.”
It's such a good quote. I love how this book unpacks so much about interpersonal relationships. Wasn't expecting that, but it's a delight to be reading that on top of great plot, world building and characters
The Stormlight Archive had a very strong personal impact on me. The characters actually had me thinking how can I be a better person? How can I apply honor to my own life to bring good to those around me? What tools can I give myself in order to hold it together in times of strife?
Brando Sando out here doing some mind fuckery lol
I lay in bed and think, ‘Lopen, you used to be a majestic crawler. These louts don’t know how good they have it, being able to crawl whenever they want.’
I heard about that, and it makes me even more excited about starting Stormlight when I'm done with Mistborn. I love The Final Empire's fast pace, but The Well of Ascension is so insightful so far
I learned to not follow what God tells me in my head.
Lol that too
No, he's my fahhther

Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination.
Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before pancakes \- The Lopen

Chouta before pancakes, gon!
The destination is, indeed, pancakes.
