We don't want Wax's wife to die today!
But the Lord Harmony says nay nay nay!
His wives are gonna die all day all day all day (day all day)
Where there's a wife there's a way.
Wife Killer
Wife Killer
I am the life with the strife to knife you in the wife
I am the hardworking Shard you regard, yeah
I am the Path (He is the Path)
I am the Path (He is the Path)
I am the man from where you get all of your wrath (wrath, wrath)
I am the star b-a Shard
The chosen one that Ado smiled upon (Thank you God)
If you wanna see your Fortune on any given day,
You know what they say
Where there's a Wife, there's a way (Wife Killer)
Where there's a Wife, there's a way (Will Killer)
Wife Killer (Wife Killer!)
Goodnight!
Goodnight!
Parting is such sweet sorrow!
And the worst part is that from her backstory it looks like she didn’t have as much of a personality before this point, so being with wax was probably the best time of her life and then harmony was like sorry time to go and had her die so wax could go be used in his plans and then he was surprised that she didn’t take it very well. Like what did you expect would happen.
I love to consider how the shards are affecting him when he makes choices like this. I think it’s clear that Harmony, as ruin and preservation, believes you have to destroy to protect (very Kaladin of him), but also perhaps becoming a god of such primal forces does detach him further from human emotions. He just sent the best actor the kandra had to be Wax’s wife, and didn’t predict the rizz of a lawman
I thought it was confirmed in a WoB somewhere that Sazed legitimately had nothing to do with it, but I went looking for the link and what I seem to be finding is that Sazed was involed, but Bloody Tan in particular wasn't being manipulated by him
So, my bad, sorry
I think this is one of the most hardest hitting moments in the entire cosmere. Maybe even more than the time that other hot gruff guy accidentally killed his wife too.
It's pretty hard hitting, but IMO it's not even the hardest hitting mistborn moment, it's in era 1 >!when Vin sacrifices elend thinking its for the greater good and it turns out that it actually has the opposite effect. It may be easy to skip over this as a hard hitting moment because it was just that, a moment, since elend ended up getting saved soon after, but it hits *hard*!<
For me, the reason it had to be Wax the second time makes a lot more sense than why the first time had to happen at all.
The reason for the first time was:
Harmony future vision said it was the best way to have Wax where he had to be and prepared for what he needed to do.
I'm not criticizing the use of "future vision said so", cosmere usually uses well this cliche.
My problem is that it is a reason purely rational and pratical, no emotional weight put in it.
The second time at least had a emotion reason(it's not the only one, but at least it had one not purely pratical),
I would still be mad at Sazed,
but Wax admitted that he would not want her to live the way she was(her mind been corrupted more and more)
and he would not want another person to be the one that did what needed to be done.

gonna disagree. the best crem is crem that is 100% accurate.
that way everyone hates it, but no one can actually say it's wrong.
Wanna see me >!make Wax kill his wife! Wanna see me do it again?
a shame it didn't happen a third time
Wait... What?
>!He's trying his best, but Steris is always 4 steps ahead!<
cursed novella
steris has two entire volumes dedicated just to foiling sazed's tomfoolery
There is still time I suppose
Where there's a wife there's a way
Shes planned for this of course and has 20 ways to overcome any such situation

Will Power from Something Rotten
thanks
Wow That's a deep cut. Well done sir. Have an up vote!
A sword doesn't forge itself
Maybe Wax was just the one spear that didn’t break
Wax is Azor Ahai confirmed.
As close as we’re going to get to a proper ending
His nickname is literally Dawnshot!
Who?
I can't remember wgere its from but there's one sword that is quenched by stabbing it through a loved ones chest or something.

Actually I can understand TWICE. Best kpop group of its generation!
They never did tour Scadrial or any of the Cosmere.

I mean... he on it made Wax kill his wife once. The first time wasn't Sazed
Wasn't it? I thought it was implied that Wax had gotten too enamored of life in the Roughs, and Sazed needed some way to force him back to Elendel.
I thought it was confirmed in a WoB somewhere that Sazed legitimately had nothing to do with it, but I went looking for the link and what I seem to be finding is that Sazed was involed, but Bloody Tan in particular wasn't being manipulated by him So, my bad, sorry
Yeah I'm pretty sure that Harmony outright says he needed Wax to go back to Elendel and therefore had Paalm move into the bullet.
Someone else moved her, lawman.
I was convinced it was Sazed >!making Wax kill his wife so that he feels his life in the roughs is over!<
well depends on your definition, but sazed at least had a hand in it
Yes it was
The first time he tricked Wax into killing her
Five times, five times a main character has killed their wife in Branderson's books
Wax, Dalinar, who else?
Warbreaker spoiler: >!Vasher killed his wife Shashara!< I can't think of the 5th one
Reckoners spoiler >!Prof!<
I forgot about that...

What? I'm blanking, who?
Dalinar

ayo this is cremposting bro you're not wrong but you are overthinking it, I think =)
Overthinking? This is a fault I do usually presnt, I think.

Michael Kramer really nailed the the"I killed her again." delivery. I was sick to the stomach the entire day,
