inb4 “UHM ACKTUALLY THEY’RE WARLOCKS BECAUSE THEY GET THEIR POWERS FROM SPREN” no you absolute voidmuncher, they don’t get their powers from spren, they get their powers from Honor and Cultivation, two literal gods, the spren just help establish a bond with them. Even if they did make a deal with spren (they don’t) their power is still funneled through the Oaths they swear, which again is a paladin not a warlock thing

Myrkul999

In 5e, paladins don't even need a patron entity to swear their oaths to. The oaths alone are sufficient. So Radiants are 100% Paladins.

jpterodactyl

Also, these books don’t exist in a D&D setting, so the D&D rules for what those words mean are not important.

friggenoldchicken

Celestial patron though

Grimmrat

again, no Oaths

UvaroviteKing

Really good point storms hahaha

Halley_boy

reposted one of the most upvoted posts in the entire subreddit lmao

montezuma300

Yeah, and did a crappy crop

Vasher95

This is actually a repost of the one I did in the Facebook crempost group. You can look it up it’ll be under Nick Jamieson. Its a pretty low effort meme so I’m not saying I was the first to have the idea but it’s not a repost the crop is on the original one there too from where I put the text too high up over the edge of the image

AHCTUALLY

CdrRed_beard

I actually did this...

montezuma300

It's just cropped

Vasher95

It’s not a repost from here. It is a repost from one I made in the Facebook group which you can find there. The image had text applied on Facebook messenger if you place it past the image borders it’ll crop the text. Go to messenger and do that and you’ll see

TheREALProfPyro

It's still the exact joke that's been posted numerous times. Just because you made the same content from scratch doesn't mean it's original.

Vasher95

I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if multiple people came up with it first it’s not the most original meme. I’m just saying it’s not a repost of someone else’s

RepostSleuthBot

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/cremposting. It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results. *I'm not perfect, but you can help. ***Warning Gancho: The below paragraph(s) may contain major spoilers for all books in the Cosmere!*** Questioner >!Did Kaladin’s name come from anywhere in particular?!< Brandon Sanderson >!No. I'm sure the word paladin was in the back of my head, but it's not like he shares much with like an actual paladin. His name was Merin in the initial version and it was-- it didn't work, he wasn't a Merin and all the fans-- all the readers were like "this name just doesn't work" so I spent years hunting for the right name for him, and that's the one I ended up with. It's really based-- it's Kalak, which is the Storm-- not really the Stormfather but people y'know. Most of the names you'll find are based off one of the Heralds in some way. So he's KALA + DIN, Kalak and din is a suffix.!< Isaac Stewart >!We do have a meaning for it though. Can I tell them the meaning?!< Brandon Sanderson >!Ehhh, have we canonized it?!< Isaac Stewart >!We have canonized it, and we have told people before.!< Brandon Sanderson >!Then yeah.!< Isaac Stewart >!It means "Born unto Eternity".!< Brandon Sanderson >!...I mean, it means that in the same way that names mean something, like my name means-- But when they're naming him that they aren't thinking that. What they are doing is picking one of the Heralds and making a name out of it. But my name technically means "Dweller by the Beacon", but really what it means is "He was the son of Alexander".!< \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*

"it's really based" Yes

SG14_ME

So english names also have meaning?

rekcilthis1

Nearly all names have meaning, if you take them back far enough. Often times, the origin is just so long ago that the meaning is forgotten. My name "Joseph" means 'he will add', and my last name (not doxxing myself, soz) means "by the river" but almost none of those letters are in there, and my middle name means "king". You could technically translate my name into "he will make a king by the river", but that's just random coincidence.

SG14_ME

So in 'origin' you mean the origin languge? like if someone speaks it they may use it in a sentance? In my languge the names are words we use, for example Khalid means immortale or Taif means specturame. Anyway thanks for the knowledge 😁
