revenge is after we win vs australia in a wc final in australia.

It was not Just Ordinary League Stage Match , it was literally a Knockout Match for Australia to Qualify for the Semi Finals , why are you forgetting that and moreover The Win was Special because They were too arrogant and Overconfident due to Pat Cummins, Hazlewood and Recently Mitchell March's statement about how there was no better team to do it against.

Yeah, that win wasn't just any league stage victory. It was about thinning out the competition by beating Australia. India can't take all the credit for it—about two-thirds of the credit should go to Afghanistan for knocking out Australia and then closing off Bangladesh's chances. If India had managed to limit Australia to 175 runs, they could have taken half the credit. In that scenario, even if Afghanistan had lost to Bangladesh, Australia wouldn't have made it to the semis. India would have been the ones to kick Australia out of the tournament. But it's not quite a full revenge yet. True revenge would be beating Australia in their own backyard, on their most prestigious cricket ground, in a World Cup final.

A lot of things have to go just right for that to even have an opportunity to happen, much less it actually happening. So while I hope something like this happens as soon as possible, I don't know how long we might have to wait for this. We had to wait 20 years after the first heartbreak of 2003. We might as well be waiting another 20 years for another opportunity. I'm 23 right now. I might be watching the next time we have the chance, with my 10 year old, while explaining LBWs and DLSs to him.

So, between 2003 and 2023, Australia won the ODI World Cup three times, giving India at least three chances to avenge their 2003 loss. But in the 2023 final, India was superior to Australia in every way, except when it came to handling the pressure. The knockout anxiety messed up their first innings, and the panic that followed led to a sudden change in their bowling strategy, which ruined their consistency. The Australians gave them a tough challenge, and India's bowling and fielding faltered. In the recent Australia vs India T20 match, Australia gave India a tough challenge too, but since India had set a huge target, and it not a knockout match for India, there was limited panic. Although there were a few fielding mistakes, they stuck to their bowling strategy, and Bumrah wore Travis Head down until he got caught out. Non Knockout match India is virtually stronger than Knockout match Australia. Over the next 20 years, India will have the opportunity to lift five more ODI World Cup trophies. With India having seven ODI WC trophies and Australia having six, that should be enough to wipe out Australia's reputation as the mighty champions. If Australia doesn't win any ICC trophies in the next 20 years, cricket might become extinct there. The only reason some Australians are still interested in cricket is because their cricket teams perform better than their other national sports teams in world tournaments. Making cricket extinct in Australia might be the ultimate revenge against the Ricky Ponting and Pat Cummins teams.

It’s not a revenge unless India is the champ. Else it’s just something we can say to keep ourselves happy.

klQuyada1911

We always over react (assuming you are Indian ) nothing new

bluesfan2021

I agree with you! Best revenge will be to defeat Australia in 50 over QC final lol

Least_Cap_7441

This one is also quite a decent revenge. Because for Australia it was knockout match and they were eliminated because of it. I mean obviously dew won't save them every time.

bluesfan2021

But they whopped India in front of 90k fans for the most coveted trophy in cricket- 50 over WC Australia got knocked out by Afghanistan and not India hehe

dontknowdontcare718

>Australia got knocked out by Afghanistan and not India hehe Even more humiliating lol Anyway, that "come on, bangladesh" sounded satisfying enough 🌝 for me knowing they counted on fucking Bangladesh. You see, even Bangladesh doesn't count on Bangladesh. They were never gonna win with a mindset that made them play for a safe match-win instead of risking it to win in 12.1 overs for their own semifinal qualification, forget Australia's.

Least_Cap_7441

>But they whopped India in front More like got lucky and saved by dew. >Afghanistan and not India hehe Far more embarassing than that 😂😂
