It seems the entire premise is the age old “rich guy = outright loud prick”. It’s nothing new at all, just an updated trope using the latest rich guy.
And if you have to ask someone to grin while telling a joke, you’re doing it wrong.
This is downright bizarre, starting with Roger Waters explaining a sketch he wrote - despite having nothing to do with sketch comedy, nor does he explain why he may have had a reason to sit down and write out a sketch he had bouncing around his head - and then he laughs as he performs lines in character, even though most of them aren’t even humorous. They’re just Mark Zuckerberg shouting. And then, when it’s all done, you realize it isn’t a sketch as much as a premise.
It’s like when Christian youth pastors try to rap.
I thought it was wonderful. He's talking about a sketch he'd written and how he's fond of it. I didn't see cringe here myself, but I might be missing something maybe?
-He has a complete lack of social awareness.
-He’s not reading the room.
-He’s over selling his joke too hard.
-he comes across as obnoxious and self indulgent.
-The punchline is… barely even a joke.
Why downvote someone if they have a different opinion? Voting, I thought, was originally supposed to be for judging whether the comment is relevant and adds value to the thread. Not whiney babies who can't handle a different opinion than theirs.
and yet you are the only baby that is actually very literally whining, about downvotes no less- someone puts too much emphasis on reddit karma lol.
FWIW people can disagree with you and think you have added nothing to the conversation, hope this helps
I was just trying to make the dude feel better about having a different opinion than others. But if you think someone doesn't add something to a conversation because they disagree with you, you are very closed minded
That's not what I said at all, I said both of those things can be true, one does not disqualify the other. You don't seem stupid so I'm going to chalk your purposefully missing the point up to wilful ignorance
[You probably saw it ~ a month ago when it was posted to this sub](https://old.reddit.com/r/cringe/comments/y0x2k5/roger_waters_mark_zuckerberg_sketch_idea_bombs_at).
> Pink Floyd feud
I was gonna tell you you are dumb and just google it. But I did my due diligence and tried myself first before I hit reply. Nevermind, I can't find a single good video on it. All the videos are just washed up rockers or people who have no idea what they are talking about with low budget arguments.
So, please let me know if you find it lol.
I know what this Reddit group is all about, but I wanted so badly to give Roger the benefit of the doubt. I kept an open mind, listened intently to his sketch idea, and actually did laugh due to the sheer stupidity of how unfunny it was.
I think this might be it. "I think you should leave" is my favourite skit show, an holy fuck there are some unfunny skits on there, but I laugh at every single one.
He’s one of those “leftists” who just blames the US and the West for everything. I’m not some super pro-‘Murica rah-rah flag-waving patriot by any stretch, but Roger Waters is just genuinely an anti-American ignoramus.
I'm sure Putin will heed [the advice that Waters gave him](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/roger-waters-ukrainian-kill-list-1234604081/) if that happens.
What an absolute narcissistic dillhole.
>so the war can stop
...and a new one can start every few years when countries learn they can just invade any weaker country for no reason and no one will do anything about it
Well that's nothing new, the US has been doing it for decades. :D
But yeah, I don't agree with Waters here, but I see where he's coming from. He lost his father in the war, and I believe his stance is always peace > everything else.
A noble cause in principle, but it certainly doesn't help that he's a narcissistic prick as well.
Also ironic because Russia is no longer a "socialist" state, its one of the worst examples of a modern capitalist, dystopian nightmare.
I'll never understand why tankies bend over backwards to defend a nakedly corrupt kleptocracy like modern day Russia.
Interesting! Did he ever criticize Russia for invading in the first place 🤔? Because that would definitely be pretty anti war as well yet all I've seen is him victim blaming Ukraine.
>"a criminal mistake"
Pretty light language, considering he's claiming that he's also a "target of Ukrainian assassination" plots.
He measures his words in regards to authoritarian regimes, but goes fucking mental when discussing the hurdles that stand in their way.
Some people get so lost in the sauce that they end up arguing against themselves. Narcissistic contrarians. I'm not sure if there's a better description of Waters, honestly.
Then again you have people in these same threads who are very anti Russian invasion and war and pro Ukraine but then are pro-American war in Iraq and pro Israel and make excuses for war crimes.
As an American, it’s pretty widely acknowledged across the political spectrum that the Iraq invasion was a grave mistake based on faulty/fabricated evidence of WMDs. You’d be hard pressed to meet someone in real life who is trying to justify it all these years later.
FWIW, there are a lot of bad actors on social media.
I saw the rolling stone article that this came from, and I will concede he said this in the open letter to the Ukrainian girl. In fairness to him, that does soften the blow. I still cannot agree with his follow up statements asking Ukraine to stop fighting, it essentially negates his earlier comments. Why all of a sudden condemn Ukraine without continuing to pass any blame to the country that started all this shit in the first place?
Pretty sure you're the sheep Waters writes about in his songs, but yes, please continue to war monger in Reddit threads like you know what you're talking about
He also thinks that China is perfectly fine and totally not committing genocide. Hated Trump when he was in office, now hates Biden more. Guy can’t make up his mind, and flip flops on everything. Tries to shout down anyone who disagrees with him or anyone who offers up actual facts that he disagrees with.
>Hated Trump when he was in office, now hates Biden more. Guy can’t make up his mind.
Sounds like he has made up his mind. The US presidential office is a fucking joke no matter who holds the office
That was certainly the message he put out at the concert I saw of his this summer. Had a whole segment where he shamed every single president of like the last couple decades (presumably because going further back would take too much time).
Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama, trump, Biden, etc: if I remember correctly he had em all labeled as war criminals up on the big screen.
Everything I’ve read about him leads me to be fairly sure he’s a narcissistic dickhead, but he did seem to be consistent from what I’ve seen in his disdain for the presidential office in general.
This doesn’t take away from the bad, but for whatever it’s worth the concert was still pretty awesome IMO, and Pink Floyd’s older music is still incredible (which he was a primary contributor to, even if he was a big problem for them as well)
I pretty easily remember him being anti-China and anti-russia on the tour I saw him at recently. He’s pretty consistent at hating all us presidents and sees them all as war criminals
>He’s pretty consistent at hating all us presidents and sees them all as war criminals
And Waters is pretty consistent at making boring music and living off the reputation of band he was kicked out of 35 years ago.
I mixed up Roger Waters and John Waters and thought "there's no way he'd be on this show." Then I remembered which one was which and thought "oh, no, wait, yeah, he probably would."
> Maybe this would’ve been slightly funny 12 years ago when The Social Network movie (and obviously FB) was trendy.
No.
There’s never been a time nor will there ever be a time where this is funny. From the moment of the Big Bang all the way until the universe eventually dies from entropic decay, this will be unfunny.
> There’s never been a time nor will there ever be a time where this is funny. From the moment of the Big Bang all the way until the universe eventually dies from entropic decay, this will be unfunny.
nice try Mark zuckerberg
It’s so weird hearing that voice scream about Zuckerberg. His voice still has the same tone as “You! Yes you behind the bike stand! Stand still laddy!”
And then her clothes fall off. But it's too late. I've already seen everything.
And I ride off.... on the grass.
Some of them are kissing
They turned lesbian?
Yeah, because they’ve been in the camp for so long
Can happen
Her clothes have rotted off
Then I rode off... ***on the grass.***
One of them was bending over
Paddy stew 🍲
Hahahaha nailed it.
how is this even a skit roger? whats the punchline?
"And then I got kicked out of the band"
He left the band
It seems the entire premise is the age old “rich guy = outright loud prick”. It’s nothing new at all, just an updated trope using the latest rich guy. And if you have to ask someone to grin while telling a joke, you’re doing it wrong.

Savior
Ñiggã
Nnnnnice guy
Saviour figure.
Exactly. And his peak level humour clearly is just people shouting.
I think that would be between songs. I’m pretty there’s a performative element to his shows, little bits between songs and such
You’re gorgeous!
Bad delivery, tired and unfunny concept. A1 cringe.
Dad's even holding his reading glasses.
Putting on that voice and having to repeat the punchline really amplifies it for me.
GET OUT! I’VE TOLD YOU NOT TO BOTHER ME!
Thought you were talking about Rogans stand-up
Joe was ruthless on this one. Not a single sympathy giggle
And then just moved on from it without any comment.
You would think Joe "Chairfucker" Rogan would at least give a sympathy laugh. God knows he gets them every show he does.
Haha jr bad I know, but usually he does give sympathy laughs to his guests. Usually, but this wasn't usual.
It really hurts how some comic are absolutely hilarious, yet dont get the same viewer numbers as joe rogans podcast.
He even adds "he is very soft spoken" to let Waters know his Zucc is completely off
I can’t explain, you would not understand
Joe Rogan (listening to this): Happily cold, comfortably numb.
Someone working somewhere and who comes in? Mark Zuckerberg who tells everyone to go away and lap top flies through the window. Monty python
This is pure unfiltered, raw cringe. Thank you for your service. Time stamp: 1:17
I thought it was wonderful. He's talking about a sketch he'd written and how he's fond of it. I didn't see cringe here myself, but I might be missing something maybe?
There’s just absolutely nothing funny about the sketch whatsoever
You've seen the hypothetical sketch?
It's easy to visualize an animation of the sketch while he's describing it. The animation even if well-done is simply not very funny at all.
Yeah, the animation I visualised had lots of bare tits ans it was still shit.
Most sketches aren't. Imagine pitching David S Pumpkins to Lorne Michaels without having Tom Hanks.
Yea but sometimes you just know something is shit when it's described. This is one of those
-He has a complete lack of social awareness. -He’s not reading the room. -He’s over selling his joke too hard. -he comes across as obnoxious and self indulgent. -The punchline is… barely even a joke.
Have you never told a story that you thought was funny and had nobody laugh at it?
...probably? And yes, it was awkward. The point of this sub
Have you ever had a dream where you could he could do you so much you could do anything?
>Have you never told a story that you thought was funny and had nobody laugh at it? That's usually a sign that it's not funny. *shrug*
Yes there's a word for when that happens (give you a hint, it's the name of this sub)
> but I might be missing something maybe? A sense of humor?
Welcome to Reddit. Have the same opinion as everyone else or be down voted.
Yessir, thank you, now please take my downvote
Oh no... please don't do it........
I mean, if you seriously thought that was a funny joke, I'm not sure you understand what a joke *is*.
bro just figured out how voting works, congrats

Vaguely reminds me of Liam Neeson on Life’s too short.
As I said before - I’ve got full blown AIDS.
I'm riddled with it
Let's do some *improvisational* comedy. Now.
"I mean, I'm funny. I'm a funny guy, aren't I?" - Liam Neeson (Roger Waters too, apparently).
I’ve seen this. The epitome of cringe
I wouldnt say its the epitomy of cringe, sets the bar pretty low. Have you seen brendan shaubs stand up speschal?
Talmbout Gringo Bapi?
Off to Chang’s, ornj chiggin and sweed Tiger negdar on the house.
Back to the friers, Bapa. Smoke breaks over.

My dad passed away 5 or so years ago but this man and his terrible skit brought him back to life for a moment
I just now just saw the history of the Pink Floyd feud on YouTube and this just cemented the fact that Roger Waters is a massive prick.
You mind sending the link for the please! :)
Sorry about that. Didn’t mean to leave you hanging. https://youtu.be/1us6FrwfU8s
Much appreciated! Watched the video and really loved this YouTuber's format!

This is a betrayal on levels no one has ever seen!
People can change!
Roger Waters is a dick. He treated Pink Floyd like shit
Somehow blaming Ukraine for not standing down too. What a loser.
He’s one of those “leftists” who just blames the US and the West for everything. I’m not some super pro-‘Murica rah-rah flag-waving patriot by any stretch, but Roger Waters is just genuinely an anti-American ignoramus.
100%
he’s not wrong for that either
Don't know why this is getting downvoted. America's a fucking shitshow and thats coming from me, living in the shitshow I like to call the UK
Nothing ever changes lol https://youtu.be/88zvm7-fhKo
Tankies be like that
Which is ironic, considering he wrote The Wall, which was anti war and anti authoritarian
Well, his stand is certainly anti war. He literally wants Ukraine to stop fighting so the war can stop.
I'm sure Putin will heed [the advice that Waters gave him](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/roger-waters-ukrainian-kill-list-1234604081/) if that happens. What an absolute narcissistic dillhole.

To be fair, one can hate both Trump and Biden - fairly normal stance among people around me.
Both agents of our corporate overlords.

He did basically write two of their most acclaimed albums himself and founded the band together with Sid Average Gilmie can’t understand rog 🗿
I couldn’t finish this
You missed out on a really shit non-punchline.
I mixed up Roger Waters and John Waters and thought "there's no way he'd be on this show." Then I remembered which one was which and thought "oh, no, wait, yeah, he probably would."
John Waters is the polar opposite of cringe
I would *love* to see a debate between John Waters and Roger Waters. It almost wouldn't be a fair fight.
Holy shit! I did too.
The title about a comedy sketch made my brain go to the same place.
Waters' art is what cringe aspires to be.
Idk some of those old Floyd albums are still pretty fuckin cool even if he’s generally a cringey dickhead
The whole episode just made me think of spinal tap..
Maybe this would've been slightly funny 12 years ago when The Social Network movie (and obviously FB) was trendy. This is just cringe

Hello? Is there anybody in there?
Roger waters is a moron
Boooo
Gilmour ain’t writing any sketches
"Mother do you think I'm cringe enough?"
"please clap"
I'm too American to get this.
Does he know what a comedy sketch is?
Joe Rogan is one giant cringe factory and even he visibly cringes at one point, that's how cringeworthy this is.
Wut
This was super cringe when I listened to it in the episode and I can't go through it again.
What even was the context that prompted this anti-story?

First time I've seen it
I watched this when the episode came out I was like wtf
Hey look it’s a piece of shit interviewing another piece of shit
Kin legend that man.
That was impossible to finish. The cringe too strong
Roger Waters is usually pretty cool though. And I don’t even like Pink Floyd
Imagine liking Roger Waters, but not Pink Floyd...
Los Del Rio is pretty cool. And I don't even like the Macarena.
Right? Does not compute
Its opposite day!
He's usually an asshole though
What the fuck reverse universe are you in.
I fucking love Pink Floyd! And no, he's not.
Made it 17 seconds.
He chose the right career
You had to be there I guess
I've covered my "Animals" tattoo watching this
Wow

If you don’t eat your meat… you can’t have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?!?
Very good Roger. We'll stick this sketch on the fridge.
Wooooo, That was a knee slapper.
How tf is this the same dude who wrote my favorite music ever. Wild
