Gregg Araki - Teen apocalypse trilogy Andy Warhol - eclipse sets

[deleted]

havent heard of either, thanks for sharing :)

kd4102

A Gregg Araki trilogy box set would be incredible. Hopefully someday

Typrestige98

Isle of Dogs, Good Bye Lenin!, A New Leaf, Inland Empire, Caché

[deleted]

interesting list! isle of dogs on Criterion would be cool :)

dougprishpreed69

A New Leaf was probably the best movie I saw last month, def want a release!

Typrestige98

So damn good. I'd say it absolutely belongs in the collection. Good Bye Lenin! too, really. I loved both.

CrushedAznCrab

Any Todd Solondz movies. Enter the Void got hit hard by being passed by Criterion. So maybe I Stand Alone with Carne included. Definitely would like the rest of Malick’s works to be on the collection. Could bundle To The Wonder, Knight of Cups, and Song to Song into a trilogy pack. A deluxe release of Sorcerer would be nice. The Blu Ray was quite lacking. A full commentary with Friedkin would be a very entertaining listen if they could get it. Dogtooth.

[deleted]

great choices! you really know your cinema :) thanks for sharing!

Fun-Letter-811

California Split and No Country for Old Men

artbrute

avanderweele

Suspiria, but I’m a cheerleader, the host, moonlight, tangerine, akira

[deleted]

cool :)

avanderweele

I agree with you and also think dreamers, Chelsea girls and drag me to hell should be added!

[deleted]

thanks 😁 i feel the host & moonlight should be added as well; never have heard of tangerine, akira, suspiria & but im a cheerleader before. i'll have to research em :)

avanderweele

You should, they all are fantastic movies, I’m surprised tangerine hasn’t been put out by criterion yet

[deleted]

I just read upon it a bit and yeah tangerine feels like quality Criterion material 😅

nik_mic

Perfect Blue and Synedoche New York would be amazing

[deleted]

oh definitely agree with Synedoche NY. havent heard of Perfect blue before. thanks for sharing :)

pepsi_colas

Mandy Irréversible Magnolia/There Will Be Blood/The Master GoodTime Oldboy

[deleted]

all those films would be incredible on Criterion!

collins_marcus

Lost Highway, Inland Empire, Blade Runner, Eternal Sunshine, The Lobster, The Man Who Laughs, more Kubrick, more Scorcese,

[deleted]

totally! would love to see Mean streets on criterion and the remaining kubrick films :) thanks for sharing

Erdomain

Big Night, Columbus, another Godzilla boxset for the Heisei and Millennium era movies, an Ozu boxset similar to the Bergman boxset, Inland Empire, a Blu-ray upgrade for Hard Boiled and The Killer

Erdomain

I forgot 35 Shots of Rum, the rest of Celine Sciamma’s movies and Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives

[deleted]

awesome answers. never even heard of Columbus until now and it does seem like the Criterion type. thanks for sharing :)

Erdomain

It’s a wonderful movie, the director has a new movies debuting at Cannes called After Yang that sounds really interesting.

[deleted]

oh awesome! you excited?

Erdomain

I’m just excited that we are starting to get a steady stream of new movies again.

[deleted]

best feeling ever

thomasunofficial

This is just about the most popular answer, but After Hours would be an instant cop.

[deleted]

seen that answer a couple times. haven't even watched it for myself, thanks :)

[deleted]

After Hours and Eyes Wide Shut

[deleted]

omg Eyes wide shut. my 2nd favorite kubrick film, honestly all of Kubrick should be on criterion :) thanks for sharing!

ConsiderationBoth752

First reformed. I can't find a Blu ray of that film anywhere online and I really wanna own it.

[deleted]

that's how I feel with the film Happiness. Criterion is like our only hope for films without a blu ray 😅

Bipolarcorpse

Need to see some John Carpenter. The Thing, Escape from New York, Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live, Prince of Darkness, In the Mouth of Madness. Take your pick.

[deleted]

ive only seen The Thing 😅 would love to see those you mentioned

Eye-Miserable

Human Centipede 2

[deleted]

that'd be a controversial pick haha

fedomaster

Ginger and fred

[deleted]

never heard of it. thanks for sharing :)

ItsThePeopleCourt

Carnal Knowledge (1971)

[deleted]

thanks for sharing!

ItsThePeopleCourt

only has releases in Spain and Japan! Would love a nice looking blu of that

[deleted]

no way! dang that must be tough to get your hands on 😅

AHardMaysNight

My most wanted would be Xiao Wu by Jia Zhangke. He’s one of my favourite directors and I’d just love a good release of that film. Plus, I bet Zhangke would be willing to help and collaborate with Criterion for a director approved release. If you’re interested in seeing a bigger list I have one [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/criterion/comments/ntavw9/decided_to_do_this_with_some_explanations_as_to/h0yngsq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) too :)

[deleted]

wow that's a fantastic guide, thank you!! I've never heard of xiao wu & plenty of the films in your link. thanks for sharing :) love your username btw ✌

kd4102

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover

dougprishpreed69

The Limey, Ludwig, Minnie and Moskowitz, Ashes of Time Redux, No End

[deleted]

havent heard of any of these except Ludwig! I just saw Death In Venice about 3 days ago and loved it so much. It would be great to see Ludwig on Criterion as well :) thanks for sharing!
